1Empirical likelihood confidence regions of the parameters in a partially linear single-index model显示文摘In this paper, a partially linear single-index model is investigated, and three empirical log-likelihood ratio statistics for the unknown parameters in the model are suggested. It is proved that the proposed statistics are asymptotically standard chi-square under some suitable conditions, and hence can be used to construct the confidence regions of the parameters. Our methods can also deal with the confidence region construction for the index in the pure single-index model. A simulation study indicates that, in terms of coverage probabilities and average areas of the confidence regions, the proposed methods perform better than the least-squares method.XUE Liugen~1 & ZHU Lixing~2 1. 2Empirical likelihood-based inference in a partially linear model for longitudinal data显示文摘A partially linear model with longitudinal data is considered, empirical likelihood to infer- ence for the regression coefficients and the baseline function is investigated, the empirical log-likelihood ratios is proven to be asymptotically chi-squared, and the corresponding confidence regions for the pa- rameters of interest are then constructed. Also by the empirical likelihood ratio functions, we can obtain the maximum empirical likelihood estimates of the regression coefficients and the baseline function, and prove the asymptotic normality. 3Plant food sources and stone tools' function at the site of Shunshanji based on starch grain analysis显示文摘The upper-middle Huai River valley(HRV) is located in the transition zone in the middle of eastern China. Previous studies have shown that the past populations in the upper HRV obtained plant food through gathering and cultivation of both rice and millet during the middle Neolithic. However, for the middle HRV it is not very clear what methods were used by humans to obtain plant food in that time. In this paper, starch grain analysis was carried out on 17 stone tools and 29 cauldron pottery sherds unearthed at Shunshanji(8.5–7.0 kyr BP), which is known as the earliest Neolithic site in the middle HRV excavated so far. Here, ancient starches from Coix lacryma-jobi, Triticeae, Oryza sativa, Trichosanthes kirilowii and one unidentified specie were recovered. This study contributes to the limited knowledge of food strategies as observed in the middle HRV. It demonstrates that both gathering and cultivation of rice took place during the middle-Neolithic. Among the identified species, Coix lacryma-jobi appears to have been the main plant food at Shunshanji. Moreover, it is clear that Oryza sativa was not consumed as much as other plant species according to the occurrence frequency of different starch grains. Starch grains were also found on the used surfaces of grinding stone implements as well as pestles, which means that these stone tools were used for food processing. In addition, axes from Shunshanji may also have been used for food processing as well as wood working because starches were also found on the edge of axes. 4Characteristics of leaching of heavy metals from low-sulfur coal gangue under different conditions显示文摘Coal gangue is the main pollution source of mining areas.When coal gangue is stacked and recycled,the heavy metal elements contained in it are released by natural weathering and leaching,which causes damage to the surrounding ecological environment.In this study,the leaching and precipitation characteristics of heavy metals in low-sulfur coal gangue under different environmental conditions were simulated by indoor dynamic leaching experiments,which provided a theoretical basis for environmental restoration of the mining area.The conclusions are as follows:higher heavy metal content in low-sulfur coal gangue is associated with greater,leaching of heavy metals;acidic conditions promote the release of heavy metals in low-sulfur coal gangue;and more precipitation is associated with better release of heavy metals from the low-sulfur coal gangue.Chang Li Liugen Zheng Chunlu Jiang Xing Chen Shuaishuai Ding 2021International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2021,8,4:6
5Progress in TILLING as a tool for functional genomics and improvement of crops显示文摘Food security is a global concern and substantial yield increases in crops are required to feed the growing world population. Mutagenesis is an important tool in crop improvement and is free of the regulatory restrictions imposed on genetically modified organisms. Targeting Induced Local Lesions in Genomes(TILLING), which combines traditional chemical mutagenesis with high‐throughput genome‐wide screening for point mutations in desired genes, offers a powerful way to create novel mutant alleles for both functional genomics and improvement of crops. TILLING is generally applicable to genomes whether small or large, diploid or evenallohexaploid, and shows great potential to address the major challenge of linking sequence information to the function of genes and to modulate key traits for plant breeding. TILLING has been successfully applied in many crop species and recent progress in TILLING is summarized below, especially on the developments in mutation detection technology, application of TILLING in gene functional studies and crop breeding. The potential of TILLING/EcoTILLING for functional genetics and crop improvement is also discussed. 6Empirical likelihood for single-index models with responses missing at random显示文摘The missing response problem in single-index models is studied, and a bias-correction method to infer the index coefficients is developed. Two weighted empirical log-likelihood ratios with asymptotic chisquare are derived, and the corresponding empirical likelihood confidence regions for the index coefficients are constructed. In addition, the estimators of the index coefficients and the link function are defined, and their asymptotic normalities are proved. A simulation study is conducted to compare the empirical likelihood and the normal approximation based method in terms of coverage probabilities and average lengths of confidence intervals.
