1Cultivation Ages Effect on Soil Physicochemical Properties and Heavy Metal Accumulation in Greenhouse Soils显示文摘The intensive management practices in greenhouse production may alter the soil physicochemical properties and contribute to the accumulation of heavy metals(HMs). To determine the HM concentrations in vegetable soil in relation to soil physicochemical properties and cultivation age, we conducted a soil survey for typical greenhouse soils in Shouguang, China. The results indicated that Cd is a major HM pollutant in the tested soils, as the only HM element exceeding the allowed limit for vegetable soil. The surveyed data was analyzed with regression analysis, correlation analysis and canonical correspondence analysis(CCA). A positive correlation is observed between HM pollution level and cultivation age. CCA results suggest that the HM pollution level and distribution in soil are significantly affected by soil physicochemical properties, which was a function of years of cultivation as revealed by regression analysis. 2Biodegradation of organochlorine pesticide endosulfan by bacterial strain Alcaligenes faecalis JBW4显示文摘The recently discovered endosulfan-degrading bacterial strain Alcaligenes faecalis JBW4 was isolated from activated sludge. This strain is able to use endosulfan as a carbon and energy source. The optimal conditions for the growth of strain JBW4 and for biodegradation by this strain were identified, and the metabolic products of endosulfan degradation were studied in detail. The maximum level of endosulfan biodegradation by strain JBW4 was obtained using broth at an initial pH of 7.0, an incubation temperature of 40°C and an endosulfan concentration of 100 mg/L. The concentration of endosulfan was determined by gas chromatography. Strain JBW4 was able to degrade 87.5% of α-endosulfan and 83.9% of β-endosulfan within 5 days. These degradation rates are much higher than the previously reported bacterial strains. Endosulfan diol and endosulfan lactone were the major metabolites detected by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry; endosulfan sulfate, which is a persistent and toxic metabolite, was not detected. These results suggested that A. faecalis JBW4 degrades endosulfan via a non-oxidative pathway. The biodegradation of endosulfan by A. faecalis is reported for the first time. 4Spatial distribution of IL4 controls iNKT cell-DC crosstalk in tumors显示文摘The spatiotemporal distribution of cytokines orchestrates immune responses in vivo,yet the underlying mechanisms remain to be explored.We showed here that the spatial distribution of interleukin-4(IL4)in invariant natural killer T(iNKT)cells regulated crosstalk between iNKT cells and dendritic cells(DCs)and controlled iNKT cell-mediated T-helper type 1(Th1)responses.The persistent polarization of IL4 induced by strong lipid antigens,that is,α-galactosylceramide(αGC),caused IL4 accumulation at the immunological synapse(IS),which promoted the activation of the IL4R-STAT6(signal transducer and activator of transcription 6)pathway and production of IL12 in DCs,which enhanced interferon-γ(IFNγ)production in iNKT cells.Conversely,the nonpolarized secretion of IL4 induced by Th2 lipid antigens with a short or unsaturated chain was incapable of enhancing this iNKT cell-DC crosstalk and thus shifted the immune response to a Th2-type response.The nonpolarized secretion of IL4 in response to Th2 lipid antigens was caused by the degradation of Cdc42 in iNKT cells.Moreover,reduced Cdc42 expression was observed in tumorinfiltrating iNKT cells,which impaired IL4 polarization and disturbed iNKT cell-DC crosstalk in tumors.Lu Wang Zhilan Liu Lili Wang Qielan Wu Xiang Li Di Xie Huimin Zhang Yongdeng Zhang Lusheng Gu Yanhong Xue Ting Yue Gang Liu Wei Ji Haiming Wei Tao Xu Li Bai 2020Cellular & Molecular Immunology2020,17,5:4
5Impacts of Packet Collisions on Link Throughput in CSMA Wireless Networks显示文摘It is known that packet collisions in wireless networks will deteriorate system performance, hence substantial efforts have been made to avoid collision in multi-user access designs. Also, there have been many studies on throughput analysis of CSMA wireless networks. However, for a typical CSMA network in which not all nodes can sense each other, it is still not well investigated how link throughputs are affected by collisions. We note that in practical 802.11-like networks, the time is divided into mini-timeslots and packet collisions are in fact unavoidable. Thus, it is desirable to move forward to explore how collisions in such a network will affect system performance. Based on the collision-free ideal CSMA network(ICN) model, this paper attempts to analyze link throughputs when taking the backoff collisions into account and examine the effect of collisions on link throughputs. Specifically, we propose an Extended Ideal CSMA Network(EICN) model to characterize the collision effects as well as the interactions and dependency among links in the network. Based on EICN, we could directly compute link throughputs and collision probabilities. Simulations show that the EICN model is of high accuracy. Under various network topologies and protocol parameter settings, the computation error of link throughputs using EICN is kept to 4% or below. Interestingly, we find that unlike expected, the effect of collisions on link throughputs in a modest CSMA wireless network is not significant, which enriches our understanding on practical CSMA wireless networks such as Wi-Fi.Caihong Kai Shengli Zhang Lusheng Wang 2018China Communications2018,15,3:3
6The Genetic Mechanism of Inertinite in the Middle Jurassic Inertinite- Rich Coal Seams of the Southern Ordos Basin显示文摘also an important geological information carrier of coal forming environments.In the southern section of the Ordos Basin,the No.4 inertinite-rich coal seam of the Middle Jurassic Yan’an Formation in the Binchang Coal field was selected as an example to study the genetic mechanism of the inertinite.In this study,the results obtained from experimental tests of coal rock,including principal and trace elements,stable carbon isotopes,scanning electron microscopy,inertinite reflectance,sporopollen and free radical retorting methods,were analyzed.Then,the findings were combined with the previous understanding of the oxygen content in the atmosphere and ground fire characteristics,in order to discuss the genesis mechanism of inertinite in the No.4 coal seam.The obtained research results were as follows:(1)During the coal forming period of the No.4 coal seam,the overall climate had been relatively dry.There were four relatively dry-wet climate cycles in the No.4 coal seam,which were controlled by the eccentricity astronomical period.The inertinite content were relatively high during the dry periods;(2)The temperature range suitable for microorganism activities during the oxidation processes was between 0 and 80℃.The simulation results of the free radical concentrations showed that the maximum temperature of fusain in the No.4 coal seam during the process of coalification had not exceeded 300℃,which was significantly higher than the temperature range of microorganism activities.Therefore,these were not conducive to the activities of microorganism and formation of inertinite during the coal-forming period;(3)The genesis temperature of the inertinite in the No.4 coal seam was calculated according to the reflectance of the inertinite,which was lower than 400℃.This result supported the cause of wildfire of the inertinite and reflected that the type of wildfire was mainly ground fire,along with partially surface fire.Moreover,the paleogeographic location,climatic conditions,atmospheric oxygen concentration,etc.of the study area showed that the conditions for wildfire events were in fact available;(4)There were dense and scattered fusinite observed in the No.4 coal seam,and the thickness of cell walls were found to differ.It was speculated that this was related to the type of wildfire,combustion temperatures,combustion timeframes,and different initial conditions of the burned objects during the coal forming periods.Dongdong Wang Qiang Mao Guoqi Dong Shipeng Yang Dawei Lv Lusheng Yin 2019Journal of Geological Research2019,1,3:3
7Diamond/β-SiC film as adhesion-enhanced interlayer for top diamond coatings on cemented tungsten carbide substrate显示文摘In present work, diamond/β-SiC composite interlayers were deposited on cemented tungsten carbide(WC-6%Co) substrates by microwave plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition(MPCVD) using H_2,CH_4 and tetramethylsilane(TMS) gas mixtures. The microstructure, chemical bonding, element distribution and crystalline quality of the composite interlayers were systematically characterized by means of field-emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction(XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectrometer(XPS), electron probe microanalysis(EPMA), Raman spectroscopy and transmission electron microscropy(TEM). The influences of varying TMS flow rates on the diamond/β-SiC composite interlayers were investigated. Through changing the TMS flow rates in the reaction gas, the volume fraction of β-SiC in the composite interlayers were tunable in the range of 12.0%–68.1%. XPS and EPMA analysis reveal that the composite interlayers are composed of C, Si element with little cobalt distribution. The better crystallinity of the diamond in the composite is characterized based on the Raman spectroscopy, which are helpful to deposit top diamond coatings with high quality. Then, the adhesion of top diamond coatings were estimated using Rockwell C indentation analysis, revealing that the adhesion of top diamond coatings on the WC-6%Co substrates can be improved by the interlayers with the diamond/β-SiC composite structures. Comprehensive TEM interfacial analysis exhibits that the cobalt diffusion is weak from WC-6%Co substrate to the composite interlayer. The homogeneous microcrystalline diamond coatings with the most excellent adhesion can be fabricated on the substrates with the composite interlayer with the β-SiC/diamond ratio of about 45%. 8Immobilization of an enzyme from a Fusarium fungus WZ-I for chlorpyrifos degradation显示文摘The free enzyme extracted from WZ-I,which was identified as Fusarium LK.ex Fx,could effectively degrade chlorpyrifos,an organophosphate insecticide.The methods of immobilizing this free enzyme and determined its degradation-related characteristics were investigated.The properties of the immobilized enzyme were compared with those of the free enzyme.The optimal immobilization of the enzyme was achieved in a solution of 30 g/L sodium alginate at 4°C for 4-12 hr.The immobilized enzyme showed the maximal activity at pH 8.0,45°C.The maximum initial rate and the substrate concentration of the immobilized enzyme were less than that of the free enzyme.The immobilized enzyme,therefore,had a higher capacity to withstand a broader range of temperatures and pH conditions than the free enzyme.With varying pH and temperatures,the immobilized enzyme was more active than the free enzyme in the degradation reaction.In addition,the immobilized enzyme exhibited only a slight loss in its initial activity,even after three repeated uses.The results showed that the immobilized enzyme was more resistant to different environmental conditions,suggesting that it was viable for future practical use.Hui Xie,Lusheng Zhu,Tingting Ma,Jun Wang,Jinhua Wang,Jun Su,Bo Shao College of Resources and Environment,Shandong Agricultural University,Taian 271018,China 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,12:3

10Effects of 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium nitrate on the microbes in brown soil显示文摘The toxicity of ionic liquids(ILs) on soil organisms has aroused wide attention due to their high-solubility. The present investigation focused on the toxicity of 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium nitrate([C_8mim]NO_3) on the microbial populations(bacteria, fungi, and actinomycetes), soil enzyme(urease, dehydrogenase, acid phosphatase, and β-glucosidase)activities, microbial community diversity using terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism(T-RFLP), and abundance of the ammonia monooxygenase(amoA) genes of ammonia-oxidizing archaea(AOA) and ammonia-oxidizing bacteria(AOB) using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(q-PCR) in brown soil at each trial with doses of 0, 1.0, 5.0,and 10.0 mg/kg on days 10, 20, 30, and 40. The contents of [C_8mim]NO_3 in soil were measured using high performance liquid chromatography with recoveries of 84.3% to 85.2%, and changed less than 10% during the experimental period. A significant decrease was observed from the bacteria, fungi and actinomycetes populations at 10.0 mg/kg, at which the urease activity was inhibited and the β-glucosidase activity was stimulated on days 20, 30, and 40. In addition, [C_8mim]NO_3 inhibited the dehydrogenase activity at 10 mg/kg on days 30 and 40 and the acid phosphatase activity on day 20. The diversity of the soil microbial community and the gene abundance of AOA-and AOB-amo A were also inhibited.
