| 1 | Passively mode-locked Er-doped fiber laser based on SnS2 nanosheets as a saturable absorber显示文摘In this paper, tin disulfide(SnS_2), a two-dimensional(2D) n-type direct bandgap layered metal dichalcogenide with a gap value of 2.24 eV, was employed as a saturable absorber. Its appearance and nonlinear saturable absorption characteristics were also investigated experimentally. SnS_2-PVA(polyvinyl alcohol) film was successfully prepared and employed as a mode-locker for achieving a mode-locked Er-doped fiber laser with a pulse width of 623 fs at a pulse repetition rate of 29.33 MHz. | 2 | Lack of association between apolipoprotein C3 gene polymorphisms and risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in a Chinese Han population显示文摘AIM:To investigate the association between two polymorphisms of apolipoprotein C3(APOC3)and risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)in a Chinese Han population.METHODS:Genotypes for rs2854116 and rs2854117in APOC3 and the known rs738409 in patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing protein 3(PNPLA3)in 390patients with NAFLD and 409 control subjects were determined by sequencing and polymerase chain reaction analysis.Serum lipid profiles were determined using biochemical methods,and an index of insulin resistance(IR,HOMA-IR),serum APOC3 concentrations and total antioxidant status(TAS)were also assessed.RESULTS:No significant differences in genotype and allele frequencies of rs2854116 and rs2854117 were found between the NAFLD population and the controls(P>0.05).The OR for the association between-455Cand-482T allele carriers and the risk of NAFLD were1.06(95%CI:0.72-1.57,P>0.05)and 1.00(95%CI:0.68-1.48,P>0.05),respectively.The variant carriers did not have a significantly increased risk of NAFLD or elevated clinical and biochemical parameters such as APOC3 concentrations,IR(1.42±0.43 vs 1.48±0.52,P>0.05),liver enzymes and TAS(13.94±2.01vs 14.38±1.92,P>0.05)compared with the controls.Moreover,the results were similar when testing was carried out independent of the genetic variation in PNPLA3.CONCLUSION:The two polymorphisms of the APOC3gene are not associated with a risk of NAFLD,or with lipid profiles,IR and oxidative stress in the Chinese Han population. | Tong-Hong Niu Man Jiang Yong-Ning Xin Xiang-Jun Jiang Zhong-Hua Lin Shi-Ying Xuan | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,13: | 7 |
| 3 | VOCs evaporative emissions from vehicles in China:Species characteristics of different emission processes显示文摘Vehicle evaporation is an essential source of VOCs in cities but is not well understood in China.Reported emission factors from previous studies are not enough for understanding the atmospheric chemical process of vehicular evaporative VOCs.In this work,a serious of detailed VOCs speciation profiles are developed based on test processes and emission processes.A mass balance method was used to divide different emission processes during diurnal tests.The results show that headspace vapor of gasoline cannot represent the real-world vehicle evaporation because of the significant differences in VOCs speciation profiles,especially for aromatics.To further distinguish emissions from evaporation and exhaust,only the ratios of MTBE/benzene and MTBE/toluene can serve as indicators when considering species from all evaporative processes.Besides,emissions from different sources change significantly with the seasons.To solve these problems,we developed a monthly comprehensive evaporation speciation profile.The individual profiles at the emission processes are weighted by the emission of the in-use vehicle fleet in Beijing to derive the comprehensive speciation profile of evaporative VOCs.Ozone formation potential(OFP)and secondary organic aerosol potential(SOAP)were used to evaluate the environmental impact.For SOAP,100 g evaporative emissions are equal to 6.05-12.71 g toluene in different months,much higher than that given using headspace vapors,especially in winter(7.2 times higher in December).These findings would improve our understanding of the evaporative VOCs emissions in China and their environmental impacts(e.g.,O3 and SOA formation). | Hanyang Man Huan Liu He Niu Kai Wang Fanyuan Deng Xiaotong Wang Qian Xiao Jiming Hao | 2020 | Environmental Science and Ecotechnology2020,,1: | 4 |
| 4 | 3D-printable supramolecular hydrogels with shear-thinning property: fabricating strength tunable bioink via dual crosslinking显示文摘3-dimensional(3D)bioprinting technology provides promising strategy in the fabrication of artificial tissues and organs.As the fundamental element in bioprinting process,preparation of bioink with ideal mechanical properties without sacrifice of biocompatibility is a great challenge.In this study,a supramolecular hydrogel-based bioink is prepared by polyethylene glycol(PEG)grafted chitosan,α-cyclodextrin(α-CD)and gelatin.It has a primary crosslinking structure through the aggregation of the pseudo-polyrotaxane-like side chains,which are formed from the host-guest interactions betweenα-CD and PEG side chain.Apparent viscosity measurement shows the shear-shinning property of this bioink,which might be due to the reversibility of the physical crosslinking.Moreover,withβ-glycerophosphate at different concentrations as the secondary crosslinking agent,the printed constructs demonstrate different Young's modulus(p<0.001).They could also maintain the Young's modulus in cell culture condition for at least 21 days(p<0.05).By co-culturing each component with fibroblasts,CCK-8 assay demonstrate cellular viability is higher than 80%.After bioprinting and culturing,immunofluorescence staining with quantification indicate the expression of Ki-67,Paxillin,and N-cadherin is higher in day 14 than those in day 3(p<0.05).Oil red O and Nissl body specific staining reflect strength tunable bioink may have impact on the cell fate of mesenchymal stem cells(p<0.05).This work might provide new idea for advanced bioink in the application of re-establishing complicated tissues and organs. | Tian Hu Xiaoliang Cui Meng Zhu Man Wu Ye Tian Bin Yao Wei Song Zhongwei Niu Sha Huang Xiaobing Fu | 2020 | Bioactive Materials2020,5,4: | 3 |
| 5 | Clinical characteristics of 96 patients with drug-induced acute liver failure:a comparison between Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To compare the causes, clinical symptoms, laboratory test results, and prognosis in patients with acute liver failure(ALF) induced by traditional Chinese medicines(TCM) and by Western Medicines(WM).METHODS: The medical histories of patients who were diagnosed with drug-induced ALF(DALF)(n =96) after hospitalization in the 302 Military Hospital between January 2010 and December 2015 were retrospectively examined.RESULTS: Fifty-eight of the 96 DALF patients(60.4%) had a hepatocellular pattern of DALF, 16 patients(16.7%) had a cholestatic pattern, and 22 patients(22.9%) had a mixed pattern. DALF resolved in 24 patients(25.0%). Twenty-five patients(26.0%)developed chronic liver injury, 43 patients(44.8%)died, and 4 patients(4.2%) underwent liver transplantation. There were 42 ALF patients(43.8%) who received WM, and 32 ALF patients(33.3%) who received TCM. TCM-induced ALF patients had a higher average age [42.4 ± 18.4) vs(33.5 ± 17.9) years,P = 0.04] and higher creatinine and urine nitrogen levels [(155.2 ± 108.8) vs(97.5 ± 130.4) mmol/L, P =0.047;(9.1 ± 7.7) vs(4.3 ± 5.0) mmol/L, P = 0.002, respectively]. Patients with TCM-induced ALF exhibited an increased risk of renal injury [odds ratio(OR),3.75; 95% confidence interval(CI), 1.330-10.577].The 14 patients with TCM-induced ALF who died exhibited higher creatinine levels than the 18 patients with TCM-induced ALF patients who survived[(218.7 ± 111.6) vs(105.8 ± 78.4) mmol/L, P =0.002]. | 18 | N-n-Butyl haloperidol iodide ameliorates liver fibrosis and hepatic stellate cell activation in mice显示文摘N-n-Butyl haloperidol iodide(F_(2))is a novel compound that has antiproliferative and antifibrogenic activities.In this study we investigated the therapeutic potential of F_(2) against liver fibrosis in mice and the underlying mechanisms.Two widely used mouse models of fibrosis was established in mice by injection of either carbon tetrachloride(CCl4)or thioacetamide(TAA).The mice received F_(2)(0.75,1.5 or 3 mg·kg^(−1)·d^(−1),ip)for 4 weeks of fibrosis induction.We showed that F_(2) administration dose-dependently ameliorated CCl4-or TAA-induced liver fibrosis,evidenced by significant decreases in collagen deposition and c-Jun,TGF-βreceptor II(TGFBR2),α-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA),and collagen I expression in the liver.In transforming growth factor beta 1(TGF-β1)-stimulated LX-2 cells(a human hepatic stellate cell line)and primary mouse hepatic stellate cells,treatment with F_(2)(0.1,1,10μM)concentration-dependently inhibited the expression ofα-SMA,and collagen I.In LX-2 cells,F_(2) inhibited TGF-β/Smad signaling through reducing the levels of TGFBR2;pretreatment with LY2109761(TGF-βsignaling inhibitor)or SP600125(c-Jun signaling inhibitor)markedly inhibited TGF-β1-induced induction ofα-SMA and collagen I.Knockdown of c-Jun decreased TGF-βsignaling genes,including TGFBR2 levels.We revealed that c-Jun was bound to the TGFBR2 promoter,whereas F_(2) suppressed the binding of c-Jun to the TGFBR2 promoter to restrain TGF-βsignaling and inhibitα-SMA and collagen I upregulation.In conclusion,the therapeutic benefit of F_(2) against liver fibrosis results from inhibition of c-Jun expression to reduce TGFBR2 and concomitant reduction of the responsiveness of hepatic stellate cells to TGF-β1.F_(2) may thus be a potentially new effective pharmacotherapy for human liver fibrosis. | Dai-fei Shen He Cheng Bo-zhi Cai Wen-feng Cai Bin Wang Qing Zhu Yue-bin Wu Man Liu Run-ji Chen Fen-fei Gao Yan-mei Zhang Yong-dong Niu Gang-gang Shi | 2022 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2022,43,1: | 0 |
