1DFT Investigations(Geometry Optimization, UV/Vis, FT-IR, NMR, HOMO-LUMO, FMO, MEP, NBO, Excited States) and the Syntheses of New Pyrimidine Dyes显示文摘In the present work, the molecular structures of two new synthesized dyes:(4,6-dimethylpyrimidin-2-ylamino)(5-p-tolylisoxazol-3-yl)methanol(PS-1) and N-(4,6-dimethylpyrimidin-2-yl)-5-phenylisoxazole-3-carboxamide(PS-2), have been investigated using density functional theory(DFT) in dimethylformamide(DMF) for the first time. The electronic spectra of new dyes in a DMF solvent were carried out by time dependent density functional theory(TD-DFT) method. After quantum-chemical calculations two new dyes for the optoelectronic applications were synthesized. FT-IR spectra of the title compounds are recorded and discussed. NucleusIndependent Chemical Shifts(NICS) calculations have also been carried out for the title compounds. The computed absorption spectral data of the title compounds are in good agreement with the experimental data, thus allowing an assignment of the UV spectra. 2Effects of Royal Jelly Supplementation on Glycemic Control and Oxidative Stress Factors in Type 2 Diabetic Female:A Randomized Clinical Trial显示文摘Objective:It has been proposed that royal jelly has antioxidant properties and may improve oxidative stress and glycemic control.Therefore,we investigated the effects of royal jelly supplementation in diabetic females.Methods:In this pilot,parallel design randomized clinical trial,50 female volunteers with type2 diabetes were randomly allocated to the supplemented(25,cases)and placebo(25,cases)groups,based on random block procedure produced by Random Allocation Software,given a daily dose of 1,000 mg royal jelly soft gel or placebo,respectively,for 8 weeks.Before and after intervention,glycemic control indices,antioxidant and oxidative stress factors were measured.Results:After royal jelly supplementation,the mean fasting blood glucose decreased remarkably(163.05142.51 mg/dL vs.149.68±42.7 mg/dL).Royal jelly supplementation resulted in significant reduction in the mean serum glycosylated hemoglobin levels(8.67%±2.24%vs.7.05%±1.45%,P=0.001)and significant elevation in the mean insulin concentration(70.28±29.16 pmol/L vs.86.46±27.50 pmol/L,P=0.01).Supplementation significantly increased erythrocyte superoxidase dismutase and glutathione peroxidase activities and decreased malondialdehyde levels(P<0.05).At the end of study,the mean total antioxidant capacity elevated insignificantly in both groups.Conclusions:On the basis of our findings,it seems that royal jelly supplementation may be beneficial in controlling diabetes outcomes.Further studies with larger sample size are warranted.Samira Pourmoradian Reza Mahdavi Majid Mobasseri Elnaz Faramarzi Mehrnoosh Mobasseri 2014Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2014,20,5:9
3Polymeric vs hydroxyapatite-based scaffolds on dental pulp stem cell proliferation and differentiation显示文摘AIM: To evaluate adhesion, proliferation and differentiation of human dental pulp stem cells(h DPSCs) on four commercially available scaffold biomaterials. METHODS: hD PSCs were isolated from human dental pulp tissues of extracted wisdom teeth and established in stem cell growth medium. h DPSCs at passage 3-5 were seeded on four commercially available scaffold biomaterials, SureO ss(Allograft), Cerabone(Xenograft), PLLA(Synthetic), and OSTEON Ⅱ Collagen(Composite), for 7 and 14 d in osteogenic medium. Cell adhesion and morphology to the scaffolds were evaluated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM). Cell proliferation and differentiation into osteogenic lineage were evaluated using DNA counting and alkaline phosphatase(ALP) activity assay, respectively. RESULTS: All scaffold biomaterials except Sure Oss(Allograft) supported h DPSC adhesion, proliferation and differentiation. hD PSCs seeded on PLLA(Synthetic) scaffold showed the highest cell proliferation and attachment as indicated with both SEM and DNA counting assay. Evaluating the osteogenic differentiation capability of hD PSCs on different scaffold biomaterials with ALP activity assay showed high level of ALP activity on cells cultured on PLLA(Synthetic) and OSTEON ⅡCollagen(Composite) scaffolds. SEM micrographs also showed that in the presence of Cerabone(Xenograft) and OSTEON Ⅱ Collagen(Composite) scaffolds, the h DPSCs demonstrated the fibroblastic phenotype with several cytoplasmic extension, while the cells on PLLA scaffold showed the osteoblastic-like morphology, round-like shape. CONCLUSION: PLLA scaffold supports adhesion, proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of hD PSCs. 5Vitamin B12: An efficient type catalyst for the one-pot synthesis of 3,4,5-trisubstituted furan-2(5H)-ones and N-aryl-3-aminodihydropyrrol-2-one-4-carboxylates显示文摘Vitamin B12 was applied as catalyst for the one-pot three-component synthesis of 3,4,5-trisubstituted furan-2(5H)-ones from the condensation between aldehydes, amines and dialkylacetylendicarboxylates at ambient temperature in Et OH. In addition, N-aryl-3-aminodihydropyrrol-2-one-4-carboxylates were synthesised using mentioned catalyst at ambient temperature in Et OH from condensation between formaldehyde, amines, and dialkylacetylenedicarboxylates. 6DFT Study of Physisorption Effect of the Curcumin on CNT(8,0-6) Nanotube for Biological Applications显示文摘In the given work the adsorption properties of molecule curcumin((1 E,6 E)-1,7-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-1,6-heptadiene-3,5-dione) on CNT(8,0-6) nanotube were investigated by the density functional theory(DFT) in the solvent water for the first time. The non-bonded interaction effects of compounds curcumin and CNT(8,0-6) nanotube on the electronic properties, UV/Vis spectra, chemical shift tensors and natural charges were determined and discussed. 17Early initiation of antiretroviral treatment: Challenges in the Middle East and North Africa显示文摘New World Health Organization guidelines recommend the initiation of antiretroviral treatment(ART) for asymptomatic patients with CD4+ T-cell counts of ≤ 500 cells/mm3. Substantial reduction of human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) transmission is addressed as a major public health outcome of this new approach. Middle East and North Africa(MENA), known as the area of controversies in terms of availability of comprehensive data, has shown concentrated epidemics among most of it's at risk population groups. Serious challenges impede the applicability of new guidelines in the MENA Region. Insufficient resources restrict ART coverage to less than 14%, while only one fourth of the countries had reportable data on patients' CD4 counts at the time of diagnosis. Clinical guidelines need to be significantly modified to reach practical utility, and surveillance systems have not yet been developed in many countries of MENA. Based on available evidence in several countries people who inject drugs and men who have sex with men are increasingly vulnerable to HIV and viral hepatitis, while their sexual partners- either female sex workers or women in monogamous relationships with high-risk men- are potential bridging populations that are not appropriately addressed by regional programs. Research to monitor the response to ART among the mentioned groups are seriously lacking, while drug resistant HIV strains and limited information on adherence patterns to treatment regimens require urgent recognition by health policymakers. 18Theoretical Study of Interaction between Apalutamide Anticancer Drug and Thymine by DFT Method显示文摘The main purpose of this study is a better comprehension of the non-bonded interaction between an anticancer drug apalutamide and deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA).In the prese nt work,the in teraction between an ticancer drug apalutamide and one of the DNA bases called 2,-deoxythymidine 5,-monophosphate(thymine)by Density Functional Theory(DFT)calculations in the solvent water has been investigated for the first time.The non-bonded interaction effects of the molecule apalutamide with thymine on the electronic properties,chemical shift tensors and natural charges have been also detected.The natural bond orbital(NBO)analysis was performed for determining the role of electron donor and acceptor of the molecules apalutamide and thymine at the complex thymine/apalutamide.Both Electron location function(ELF),localized orbital locator(LOL)and quantum theory of atoms in molecules(QTAIM)analysis were carried out in order to determine the chemical bond nature in the investigated compounds.The values of ELF and LOL parameters for the selected bonds are small,which confirms the non-covalent character of these bonds in nature.The electronic spectra of the apalutamide drug,thymine and complex thymine/apalutamide in solvent water were calculated by Time Dependent Density Functional Theory(TD-DFT)for the investigation of interaction effect;Non-bonded interaction between the compound apalutamide and thymine has changed the value of λmax.SIYAMAK Shahab MASOOME Sheikhi MEHRNOOSH Khaleghian SHAMSA Sharifi SADEGH Kaviani 2019Chinese Journal of Structural Chemistry2019,38,10:0

20Using satellite-derived land surface temperatures to clarify the spatiotemporal warming trends of the Alborz Mountains in northern Iran显示文摘The Alborz Mountains are some of the highest in Iran,and they play an important role in controlling the climate of the country’s northern regions.The land surface temperature(LST)is an important variable that affects the ecosystem of this area.This study investigated the spatiotemporal changes and trends of the nighttime LST in the western region of the Central Alborz Mountains at elevations of 1500-4000 m above sea level.MODIS data were extracted for the period of 2000-2021,and the Mann-Kendall nonparametric test was applied to evaluating the changes in the LST.The results indicated a significant increasing trend for the monthly average LST in May-August along the southern aspect.Both the northern and southern aspects showed decreasing trends for the monthly average LST in October,November,and March and an increasing trend in other months.At all elevations,the average decadal change in the monthly average LST was more severe along the southern aspect(0.60°C)than along the northern aspect(0.37°C).The LST difference between the northern and southern aspects decreased in the cold months but increased in the hot months.At the same elevation,the difference in the lapse rate between the northern and southern aspects was greater in the hot months than in the cold months.With increasing elevation,the lapse rate between the northern and southern aspects disappeared.Climate change was concluded to greatly decrease the difference in LST at different elevations for April-July.ROSHAN Gholamreza SARLI Reza GHANGHERMEH Abdolazim TAHERIZADEH Mehrnoosh NIKNAM Arman 2024Journal of Mountain Science2024,21,2:0
