1Sustained virological response based on rapid virological response in genotype-3 chronic hepatitis C treated with standard interferon in the Pakistani population显示文摘AIM:To document the sustained virological response (SVR) in rapid virological responders (RVR) of genotype-3 chronic hepatitis C with standard interferon (SdIF). METHODS:Hepatitis C genotype-3 patients during the period July 2006 and June 2007 were included. Complete blood counts, prothrombin time, ALT, albumin, qualitative HCV RNA were done. SdIF and ribavirin were given for 4 wk and qualitative HCV RNA was repeated. Those testing negative were allocated to group-A while the rest were allocated to group-B. Treatment was continued a total of 16 and 24 wk for group A and B respectively. HCV RNA was repeated after 24 wk of treatment. End virological and sustained virological responses were compared by χ2 test. ROC of pretreatment age, ALT and albumin were plotted for failure to achieve SVR. RESULTS:Of 74 patients treated, RCV RNA after 16 wk of therapy became undetectable in 34 (45.9%) and was detectable in 40 (54.1%) and were allocated to groups A and B respectively. SVR was achieved in 58.8% and 27.8% in groups A and B respectively. SVR rates were significantly higher in patients who had RVR as compared to those who did not (P = 0.0;γ = 2). Both groups combined ETR and SVR were 70% and 33% respectively. 6Stochastic Computational Approach for Complex Nonlinear Ordinary Differential Equations显示文摘We present an evolutionary computational approach for the solution of nonlinear ordinary differential equations(NLODEs).The mathematical modeling is performed by a feed-forward artificial neural network that defines an unsupervised error.The training of these networks is achieved by a hybrid intelligent algorithm,a combination of global search with genetic algorithm and local search by pattern search technique.The applicability of this approach ranges from single order NLODEs,to systems of coupled differential equations.We illustrate the method by solving a variety of model problems and present comparisons with solutions obtained by exact methods and classical numerical methods.The solution is provided on a continuous finite time interval unlike the other numerical techniques with comparable accuracy.With the advent of neuroprocessors and digital signal processors the method becomes particularly interesting due to the expected essential gains in the execution speed.Junaid Ali Khan Muhammad Asif Zahoor Raja Ijaz Mansoor Qureshi 2011Chinese Physics Letters2011,28,2:1
7Countrywide Survey for MERS-Coronavirus Antibodies in Dromedaries and Humans in Pakistan显示文摘Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) is a zoonotic pathogen capable of causing severe respiratory disease in humans. Although dromedary camels are considered as a major reservoir host, the MERS-CoV infection dynamics in camels are not fully understood. Through surveillance in Pakistan, nasal (n = 776) and serum (n = 1050)samples were collected from camels between November 2015 and February 2018. Samples were collected from animal markets, free-roaming herds and abattoirs. An in-house ELISA was developed to detect IgG against MERS-CoV. A total of 794 camels were found seropositive for MERS-CoV. Prevalence increased with the age and the highest seroprevalence was recorded in camels aged [ 10 years (81.37%) followed by those aged 3.1–10 years (78.65%) and B 3 years (58.19%).Higher prevalence was observed in female (78.13%) as compared to male (70.70%). Of the camel nasal swabs, 22 were found to be positive by RT-qPCR though with high Ct values. Moreover, 2,409 human serum samples were also collected from four provinces of Pakistan during 2016–2017. 8A Novel Auto-Annotation Technique for Aspect Level Sentiment Analysis显示文摘In machine learning,sentiment analysis is a technique to find and analyze the sentiments hidden in the text.For sentiment analysis,annotated data is a basic requirement.Generally,this data is manually annotated.Manual annotation is time consuming,costly and laborious process.To overcome these resource constraints this research has proposed a fully automated annotation technique for aspect level sentiment analysis.Dataset is created from the reviews of ten most popular songs on YouTube.Reviews of five aspects—voice,video,music,lyrics and song,are extracted.An N-Gram based technique is proposed.Complete dataset consists of 369436 reviews that took 173.53 s to annotate using the proposed technique while this dataset might have taken approximately 2.07 million seconds(575 h)if it was annotated manually.For the validation of the proposed technique,a sub-dataset—Voice,is annotated manually as well as with the proposed technique.Cohen’s Kappa statistics is used to evaluate the degree of agreement between the two annotations.The high Kappa value(i.e.,0.9571%)shows the high level of agreement between the two.This validates that the quality of annotation of the proposed technique is as good as manual annotation even with far less computational cost.This research also contributes in consolidating the guidelines for the manual annotation process.Muhammad Aasim Qureshi Muhammad Asif Mohd Fadzil Hassan Ghulam Mustafa Muhammad Khurram Ehsan Aasim Ali Unaza Sajid 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,3:0
9Leveraging UAV-assisted communications to improve secrecy for URLLC in 6G systems显示文摘Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs)will be essential to support mission-critical applications of Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communication(URLLC)in futuristic Sixth-Generation(6G)networks.However,several security vulnerabilities and attacks have plagued previous generations of communication systems;thus,physical layer security,especially against eavesdroppers,is vital,especially for upcoming 6G networks.In this regard,UAVs have appeared as a winning candidate to mitigate security risks.In this paper,we leverage UAVs to propose two methods.The first method utilizes a UAV as Decode-and-Forward(DF)relay,whereas the second method utilizes a UAV as a jammer to mitigate eavesdropping attacks for URLLC between transmitter and receiver devices.Moreover,we present a low-complexity algorithm that outlines the two aforementioned methods of mitigating interception,i.e.increasing secrecy rate,and we compare them with the benchmark null method in which there is a direct communication link between transmitter and receiver without the UAV DF relay.Additionally,simulation results show the effectiveness of such methods by improving the secrecy rate and its dependency on UAV height,blocklength,decoding error probability and transmitter-receiver separation distance.Lastly,we recommend the best method to enhance the secrecy rate in the presence of an eavesdropper based on our simulations.Hemant Kumar Narsani Ali Ranjha Kapal Dev Fida Hussain Memon Nawab Muhammad Faseeh Qureshi 2023Digital Communications and Networks2023,9,6:0
10Behavioral effects of a four-wing attractor with circuit realization: a cryptographic perspective on immersion显示文摘In this paper,we propose an innovative chaotic system,combining fractional derivative and sinehyperbolic nonlinearity with circuit execution.The study of this system is conducted via an analog circuit simulator,using two anti-parallel semiconductor diodes to provide hyperbolic sine nonlinearity,and to function as operational amplifiers.The multi-stability of the system is also enhanced with the help of multi-equilibrium points for distinct real orders of system.The system explores the generation of a four-wing attractor in different phases,both numerically and electronically.By changing the input parameters of the system,different graphs are generated for current flow in state,phase,and space,to confirm the precision of the fractional order derivatives.A reasonable simulation shows that the deliberate circuit provides effective chaos in terms of speed and accuracy,which is comensurate with the numerical simulation.This nonlinear chaotic behavior is utilized to encrypt sound(.wav),images(.jpg),and animated(.gif)data which are a major requirement for the security of communication systems.The proposed circuit performs chaos and cryptographic tasks with high-effective analog computation,and constitutes a novel approach to this area of research.Najeeb Alam Khan Muhammad Ali Qureshi Tooba Hameed Saeed Akbar Saif Ullah 2020Communications in Theoretical Physics2020,72,12:0
11MDEV Model:A Novel Ensemble-Based Transfer Learning Approach for Pneumonia Classification Using CXR Images显示文摘Pneumonia is a dangerous respiratory disease due to which breathing becomes incredibly difficult and painful;thus,catching it early is crucial.Medical physicians’time is limited in outdoor situations due to many patients;therefore,automated systems can be a rescue.The input images from the X-ray equipment are also highly unpredictable due to variances in radiologists’experience.Therefore,radiologists require an automated system that can swiftly and accurately detect pneumonic lungs from chest x-rays.In medical classifications,deep convolution neural networks are commonly used.This research aims to use deep pretrained transfer learning models to accurately categorize CXR images into binary classes,i.e.,Normal and Pneumonia.The MDEV is a proposed novel ensemble approach that concatenates four heterogeneous transfer learning models:Mobile-Net,DenseNet-201,EfficientNet-B0,and VGG-16,which have been finetuned and trained on 5,856 CXR images.The evaluation matrices used in this research to contrast different deep transfer learning architectures include precision,accuracy,recall,AUC-roc,and f1-score.The model effectively decreases training loss while increasing accuracy.The findings conclude that the proposed MDEV model outperformed cutting-edge deep transfer learning models and obtains an overall precision of 92.26%,an accuracy of 92.15%,a recall of 90.90%,an auc-roc score of 90.9%,and f-score of 91.49%with minimal data pre-processing,data augmentation,finetuning and hyperparameter adjustment in classifying Normal and Pneumonia chests.Mehwish Shaikh Isma Farah Siddiqui Qasim Arain Jahwan Koo Mukhtiar Ali Unar Nawab Muhammad Faseeh Qureshi 2023Computer Systems Science & Engineering2023,46,7:0
12Burnout amongst radiologists:A bibliometric study from 1993 to 2020显示文摘BACKGROUND Burnout amongst radiologists is common in many different institutions and is increasing day by day.To battle burnout,we have to address the root causes already recognized in published literature.Therefore,it is crucial to examine and discern important publications.AIM To provide evidence-based data and trends related to burnout in radiologists so that researchers can work on it further and develop preventive strategies to overcome this problem.METHODS Bibliometric analysis conducted by two independent reviewers separately used Scopus Library for data extraction by using medical subject heading and International Classification of Diseases keywords.Forty-nine articles were selected for analysis after an extensive scrutiny.Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 20 was used for analysis.Pearson correlation coefficient,Kruskal Wallis test,and Mann-Whitney U test were applied.RESULTS The most productive period with regards to the number of publications was between 2017 and 2019.A total of 160 authors contributed to the topic burnout among radiologists,with an average of 3.26 authors per paper.About 41.68%of the authors were female,whilst 35%of them were first authors.The co-citation analysis by author involved 188 cited authors,13 of whom were cited at least 70 times.Only six out of forty-nine studies were funded by various government institutions and non-governmental organizations.CONCLUSION Current analysis casts a spotlight on important trends being witnessed in regard to the mental health of radiologists,including lack of funding for mental health research,narrowing of female vs male citation gap,as well as authorship and citation trends.Muhammad Fazal Hussain Qureshi Danish Mohammad Syed Mustafa Ali Shah Mahira Lakhani Muzna Shah Muhammad Hassan Ayub Sara Sadiq 2022World Journal of Psychiatry2022,12,2:0
