1Ultrabithorax is a key regulator for the dimorphism of wings,a main cause for the outbreak of planthoppers in rice显示文摘Rice planthoppers,the most devastating rice pests,occur in two wing forms:the short-wing form for rapid population growth and long-wing form for long-distance migration,which together create the mechanism for outbreak.Here we show that Ultrabithorax(Ubx)is a key regulator for switching between the long-and short-wing forms of rice planthoppers.Ubx is expressed in both forewing and hindwing pads,which is different from the canonical model of Ubx expression.In brown planthoppers,expression of Ubx(Nl Ubx)is regulated by nutritional status of the rice host.High-quality young plants induce Nl Ubx expression leading to the short-wing form;low-quality ripe plants reduce Nl Ubx expression resulting in long-wing form.We also showed that Nl Ubx is regulated by the insulin receptors Nl In R1 and Nl In R2.The default expression of Nl In R1 inhibits Nl Ubx resulting in long-wings,while high-quality hosts induce Nl In R2 expression,which represses Nl In R1 thus promoting Nl Ubx expression to produce short-wings.Fangzhou Liu Xiang Li Muhua Zhao Mengjian Guo Kehong Han Xinxin Dong Jing Zhao Wanlun Cai Qifa Zhang Hongxia Hua 2020National Science Review2020,7,7:5
2Electrochemical solid-state amorphization in the immiscible Cu-Li system显示文摘As a typical immiscible binary system, copper (Cu) and lithium (Li) show no alloying and chemical intermixing under normal circumstances. Here we show that, when decreasing Cu nanoparticle sizes into ultrasmall range, the nanoscale size effect can play a subtle yet critical role in mediating the chemical activity of Cu and therefore its miscibility with Li, such that the electrochemical alloying and solidstate amorphization will occur in such an immiscible system. This unusual observation was accomplished by performing in-situ studies of the electrochemical lithiation processes of individual CuO nanowires inside a transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Upon lithiation, CuO nanowires are first electrochemically reduced to form discrete ultrasmall Cu nanocrystals that, unexpectedly, can in turn undergo further electrochemical lithiation to form amorphous Cu Lixnanoalloys. Real-time TEM imaging unveils that there is a critical grain size (ca. 6 nm), below which the nanocrystalline Cu particles can be continuously lithiated and amorphized. 3Preparation of the Supported Heteropolyacids Catalyst by Ultrasound-plasma Treatment显示文摘Novel catalysts of phosphotungstic heteropolyacids(PW_(12))supported on neutral alumina were prepared by assistance of ultrasound and plasma treatment.The prepared catalysts were characterized by FT-IR pyridine adsorption(Py-IR),temperature programmed desorption of Pyridine(Py-TPD),BET and X-ray diffraction(XRD),and their catalytic performances were evaluated by the cationic polymerization of tetrahydrofuran.The results indicate that plasma treatment remarkably increases the surface acidity of the prepared catalyst while ultrasonic treatment induces PW_(12)to uniformly disperse on the support surface and expose more active sites for the acid catalytic reaction.A higher catalytic activity(69.7%)is obtained on the novel catalyst,which significantly outstripped that on the conventional sample(57.5%).LI Yang CHU Wei CHEN Muhua HU Jinyan 2008Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2008,23,2:3

5Religious atmosphere and the cost of equity capital:Evidence from China显示文摘The cost of equity capital(ICC)is a crucial component of investment decisions and corporate performance evaluations.This study explores the effect of a region’s religious atmosphere on ICC and finds that ICC tends to be lower when stronger religious atmosphere is created.We further use the mediation effect method to clarify the specific channel through which religious atmosphere reduces ICC,and find that earnings quality,corporate investment efficiency and corporate social responsibility partially mediate the effect of religious atmosphere on ICC.Moreover,the relationship between religious atmosphere and ICC is more pronounced in firms with stronger external law environments and higher audit quality,indicating that formal institutions and religious tradition complement each other.Ning Hu Hong Chen Muhua Liu 2018China Journal of Accounting Research2018,,2:2
6Bicontinuous porous membranes with micro-nano composite structure using a facile atomization-assisted nonsolvent induced phase separation method显示文摘The micro-nano composite structure can endow separation membranes with special surface properties,but it often has the problems of inefficient preparation process and poor structural stability.In this work,a novel atomization-assisted nonsolvent induced phase separation method,which is also highly efficient and very simple,has been developed.By using this method,a bicontinuous porous microfiltration membrane with robust micro-nano composite structure was obtained via commercially available polymers of polyacrylonitrile and polyvinylpyrrolidone.The formation mechanism of the micro-nano composite structure was proposed.The microphase separation of polyacrylonitrile and polyvinylpyrrolidone components during the atomization pretreatment process and the hydrogen bonding between polyacrylonitrile and polyvinylpyrrolidone molecules should have resulted in the nano-protrusions on the membrane skeleton.The membrane exhibits superhydrophilicity in air and superoleophobicity underwater.The membrane can separate both surfactant-free and surfactant-stabilized oil-in-water emulsions with high separation efficiency and permeation flux.With excellent antifouling property and robust microstructure,the membrane can easily be recycled for long-term separation.Furthermore,the scale-up verification from laboratory preparation to continuous production has been achieved.The simple,efficient,cost-effective preparation method and excellent membrane properties indicate the great potential of the developed membranes in practical applications.Jing Wang Guoyuan Pan Yu Li Yang Zhang Hongwei Shi Xuanbo Liu Hao Yu Muhua Zhao Yiqun Liu Changjiang Wu 2022Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2022,16,8:2

10Spatial multi-scaled chimera states of cerebral cortex network and its inherent structure-dynamics relationship in human brain显示文摘Human cerebral cortex displays various dynamics patterns under different states,however the mechanism how such diverse patterns can be supported by the underlying brain network is still not well understood.Human brain has a unique network structure with different regions of interesting to perform cognitive tasks.Using coupled neural mass oscillators on human cortical network and paying attention to both global and local regions,we observe a new feature of chimera states with multiple spatial scales and a positive correlation between the synchronization preference of local region and the degree of symmetry of the connectivity of the region in the network.Further,we use the concept of effective symmetry in the network to build structural and dynamical hierarchical trees and find close matching between them.These results help to explain the multiple brain rhythms observed in experiments and suggest a generic principle for complex brain network as a structure substrate to support diverse functional patterns.Siyu Huo Changhai Tian Muhua Zheng Shuguang Guan Changsong Zhou Zonghua Liu 2021National Science Review2021,8,1:1
