2Environmental magnetic comparisons between distal and proximal sediments of Huangqihai Lake,Inner Mongolia,China显示文摘Spatial variations in lake sediments are a product of their depositional heterogeneities.To better correlate synchronous strata in Huangqihai Lake,two sections were excavated from the lake-center and the lake-shore.The study involved detailed lithology,mineralogy,and rock magnetic analysis.The results show that the frequency-dependent susceptibility,which is related to the content of super-paramagnetic minerals,is relatively easy to contrast between the two sections.However,mass susceptibility and saturation isothermal remanence,which are related to the content of total magnetic minerals,are difficult to contrast.A possible reason for this difference is that small-particle super-paramagnetic minerals are formed mainly during pedogenic processes,which correlates well with climate change and avoids the effects of local factors when corrections are made at the whole-lake scale.Both sections can be divided into three stages,which appear to be well correlated with previous results obtained through other environmental proxies.DONG Jin WANG Yong ZHANG ShiHong CHI ZhenQing YAO PeiYi ZHAO ZhiLi 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,9:4
3Differences in atheroma between Caucasian and Asian subjects with anterior stroke:A vessel wall MRI study显示文摘Background and purpose While extracranial carotid artery stenosis is more common among Caucasians and intracranial artery stenosis is more common among Asians,the differences in atherosclerotic plaque characteristics have not yet been extensively examined.We sought to investigate plaque location and characteristics within extracranial carotid and intracranial arteries in symptomatic Caucasians and Chinese using vessel wall MRI.Methods Subjects with recent anterior circulation ischaemic stroke were recruited and imaged at two sites in the USA and China using similar protocols.Both extracranial carotid and intracranial arteries were reviewed to determine plaque location and characteristics.Results The prevalence of extracranial carotid plaque in Caucasians and Chinese was 73.1%and 49.1%,respectively(p=0.055).Prevalence of intracranial plaque was 38.5%and 69.1%in Caucasians and Chinese,respectively(p=0.02).Furthermore,42% of Caucasians and 16%of Chinese had high-risk plaque(HRP)features(intraplaque haemorrhage,luminal surface disruption)in the extracranial carotid artery(p=0.03).The prevalence of HRP features in intracranial arteries was not significantly different between the two cohorts(4%vs 11%;p=0.42).Conclusions Differences in the location and characteristics of cerebrovascular atherosclerosis were identified by vessel wall MRI in US Caucasian and Chinese subjects with recent anterior circulation ischaemic stroke.Extracranial carotid plaques with HRP features were more common in Caucasians.Intracranial plaques were more common in Chinese subjects,but no significant difference between the two cohorts in intracranial HRP prevalence was found.Larger studies using vessel wall imaging to investigate racial differences in cerebrovascular disease may inform underlying mechanisms of HRP development and may ultimately help guide appropriate therapy.Hiroko Watase Mi Shen Binbin Sui Peiyi Gao Dong Zhang Jie Sun Niranjan Balu Daniel S Hippe Gail P Jarvik Xihai Zhao Rui Li Shuo Chen Chun Yuan Thomas S Hatsukami 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,1:4

5Facile Synthesis of NiFe_2O_4/Reduced Graphene Oxide Hybrid with Enhanced Electrochemical Lithium Storage Performance显示文摘In this work, a facile, one-pot route has been applied to synthesize nanohybrids based on mixed oxide Ni Fe2O4 and reduced graphene oxide(r GO). The hybrid is constructed by nanosized Ni Fe2O4 crystals confined by fewlayered r GO sheets. The formation mechanism and microstructure of the hybrids have been clarified by X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy.Electrochemical tests show that the performance of Ni Fe2O4 can be considerably improved by r GO incorporation. The performance improvement can be attributed to the two-dimensional conductive channels and the unique hybrid structure r GO constructed. 6Near-atomic structure of the inner ring of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae nuclear pore complex显示文摘Nuclear pore complexes(NPCs)mediate bidirectional nucleocytoplasmic transport of substances in eukaryotic cells.However,the accurate molecular arrangement of NPCs remains enigmatic owing to their huge size and highly dynamic nature.Here we determined the structure of the asymmetric unit of the inner ring(IR monomer)at 3.73Åresolution by single-particle cryo-electron microscopy,and created an atomic model of the intact IR consisting of 192 molecules of 8 nucleoporins.In each IR monomer,the Z-shaped Nup188–Nup192 complex in the middle layer is sandwiched by two approximately parallel rhomboidal structures in the inner and outer layers,while Nup188,Nup192 and Nic96 link all subunits to constitute a relatively stable IR monomer.In contrast,the intact IR is assembled by loose and instable interactions between IR monomers.These structures,together with previously reported structural information of IR,reveal two distinct interaction modes between IR monomers and extensive flexible connections in IR assembly,providing a structural basis for the stability and malleability of IR.Zongqiang Li Shuaijiabin Chen Liang Zhao Guoqiang Huang Xiong Pi Shan Sun Peiyi Wang Sen-Fang Sui 2022Cell Research2022,32,5:2
7Nascent Proteome and Glycoproteome Reveal the Inhibition Role of ALG1 in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cell Migration显示文摘Asparagine-linked glycosylation protein 1 homolog(ALG1)participates in the initial stage of protein N-glycosylation and N-glycosylation has been implicated in the process of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)progression.However,whether ALG1 plays a role in human HCC remains unknown.In this study,the expression profile of ALG1 in tumorous and corresponding adjacent non-tumor tissues was analyzed.The relationship of ALG1 expression with clinical features and prognosis of HCC patients was also evaluated using immuno-histochemical method.Here we found ALG1 decreased in HCC tissues compared with adjacent normal liver tissues,which predicted an unfavorable prognosis.Combined with RNA interference,nascent proteome and glycoproteome were determined systematically in Huh7 cell line.Bioinformatics analysis indicated that the differentially expressed proteins participating in the response of ALG1 knockdown were most significantly associated with cell-cell adhesion.Functional studies confirmed that knockdown of ALG1 reduced cell adhesion capacity,and promoted cell migration.Furthermore,down-regulation of H8N2(on N-glycosite N651)and H5N4S2F1(on N-glycosite N692)from N-cadherin was identified as a feature of ALG1 knockdown.Our findings revealed that ALG1 controlled the expression of glycosylated N-cadherin and played a role in HCC migration,with implications for prognosis.Xinyi Cao Yuyin Shao Peiyi Meng Zhao Cao Guoquan Yan Jun Yao Xinwen Zhou Chao Liu Lei Zhang Hong Shu Haojie Lu 2022Phenomics2022,2,4:2

13Implementing the free HPV vaccination for adolescent girls aged below 14 in Shenzhen,Guangdong Province of China:experience,challenges,and lessons显示文摘Cervical cancer is a major public health concern in China,accounting for almost one-fifth of the global incidence and mortality.The recently prequalified domestic bivalent human papillomavirus(HPV)vaccine offers a practical and feasible preventive measure.In response to the global call for action,the National Health Commission issued an Action Plan to eliminate cervical cancer by 2030,with promotion of the HPV vaccination for school-aged girls as a critical step.Despite this,implementation of the vaccination has been patchy,with very low coverage among eligible girls.To address this,from December 2021 to December 2022,a demonstration project was launched in Shenzhen,Guangdong Province,to promote the inclusion of HPV vaccine in local immunisation programme and to address existing barriers to implementation.Using multiple sources of data,this article presents a case study of the demonstration project,analysing its impact on rolling out HPV vaccination among eligible girls and identifying any challenges encountered during implementation.The demonstration project has shown promising results in increasing the HPV vaccination rate,promoting public awareness and acceptance of the domestic HPV vaccine,and establishing a model for quickly scaling up the vaccination at the municipal level.The success of the project can be attributed to several factors,including strong governmental commitment,sufficient funding,multi-sectoral collaboration,ensured vaccine accessibility and affordability,improved vaccination services,and effective health education and communication strategies.Lessons learned from Shenzhen can provide valuable insights for future advocacy and implementation of the vaccination in other areas of China,but challenges must be addressed to achieve universal coverage.These include addressing vaccine hesitancy,expanding the programme to cover a broader age range,and ensuring consistent quality of vaccination services in primary care facilities.Overcoming these challenges will require innovative strategies,public-private partnerships,and sustained funding and resources.Future research should focus on evaluating the long-term effectiveness of the vaccination programme and identifying contextual factors that may impact its implementation in different settings.Overall,the effective control of cervical cancer in China will rely on the“political will”to ensure the incorporation of preventive interventions into policies and universal programme coverage.Dadong Wu Peiyi Liu Danhong Song He Wang Siqi Chen Wanyi Tang Xuelian Zhao Fanghui Zhao Yueyun Wang 2023Infectious Diseases of Poverty2023,12,5:0
14High-sensitive two-dimensional PbI_(2)photodetector with ultrashort channel显示文摘Photodetectors based on two-dimensional(2D)semiconductors have attracted many research interests owing to their excellent optoelectronic characteristics and application potential for highly integrated applications.However,the unique morphology of 2D materials also restricts the further improvement of the device performance,as the carrier transport is very susceptible to intrinsic and extrinsic environment of the materials.Here,we report the highest responsivity(172 A/W)achieved so far for a PbI_(2)-based photodetector at room temperature,which is an order of magnitude higher than previously reported.Thermal scanning probe lithography(t-SPL)was used to pattern electrodes to realize the ultrashort channel(~60 nm)in the devices.The shortening of the channel length greatly reduces the probability of the photo-generated carriers being scattered during the transport process,which increases the photocurrent density and thus the responsivity.Our work shows that the combination of emerging processing technologies and 2D materials is an effective route to shrink device size and improve device performance.Kaiyue He Jijie Zhu Zishun Li Zhe Chen Hehe Zhang Chao Liu Xu Zhang Shuo Wang Peiyi Zhao Yu Zhou Shizheng Zhang Yao Yin Xiaorui Zheng Wei Huang Lin Wang 2023Frontiers of physics2023,18,6:0

17An ethylene-induced NAC transcription factor acts as a multiple abiotic stress responsor in conifer显示文摘The proper response to various abiotic stresses is essential for plants’survival to overcome their sessile nature,especially for perennial trees with very long-life cycles.However,in conifers,the molecular mechanisms that coordinate multiple abiotic stress responses remain elusive.Here,the transcriptome response to various abiotic stresses like salt,cold,drought,heat shock and osmotic were systematically detected in Pinus tabuliformis(P.tabuliformis)seedlings.We found that four transcription factors were commonly induced by all tested stress treatments,while PtNAC3 and PtZFP30 were highly up-regulated and co-expressed.Unexpectedly,the exogenous hormone treatment assays and the content of the endogenous hormone indicates that the upregulation of PtNAC3 and PtZFP30 are mediated by ethylene.Time-course assay showed that the treatment by ethylene immediate precursor,1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid(ACC),activated the expression of PtNAC3 and PtZFP30 within 8 hours.We further confirm that the PtNAC3 can directly bind to the PtZFP30 promoter region and form a cascade.Overexpression of PtNAC3 enhanced unified abiotic stress tolerance without growth penalty in transgenic Arabidopsis and promoted reproductive success under abiotic stress by shortening the lifespan,suggesting it has great potential as a biological tool applied to plant breeding for abiotic stress tolerance.This study provides novel insights into the hub nodes of the abiotic stresses response network as well as the environmental adaptation mechanism in conifers,and provides a potential biofortification tool to enhance plant unified abiotic stress tolerance.Fangxu Han Peiyi Wang Xi Chen Huanhuan Zhao Qianya Zhu Yitong Song Yumeng Nie Yue Li Meina Guo Shihui Niu 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,8:0
18Microstructure and Thermophysical Properties of Mg-Ga Alloys显示文摘The microstructure and thermal characteristics of Mg-36%Ga,Mg-43%Ga,and Mg-45%Ga(wt%) alloys were investigated.The experimental results show that the microstructure of Mg-36%Ga alloy is mainly composed of primary a-Mg phase and a-Mg+Mg_(5)Ga_(2) eutectic phase,the microstructure of Mg-43%Ga alloy is mainly composed of a-Mg+Mg_(5)Ga_(2) eutectic phase,and the microstructure of Mg-45%Ga alloy is mainly composed of primary Mg_(5)Ga_(2) phase and a-Mg+Mg_(5)Ga_(2) eutectic phase.The melting enthalpies of Mg-36%Ga,Mg-43%Ga,and Mg-45%Ga are 146.41,171.90,and 113.90 J/g,with the phase change temperature of 422.57,422.70,and 422.90 ℃,respectively.Mg-43%Ga alloy contains the highest melting enthalpy because of the highest content of a-Mg+Mg_(5)Ga_(2) eutectic phase.In addition,the thermal expansion of the three alloys increases with increasing temperature,while the thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity decreases with increasing content of Ga.范晓明 YE Peiyi ZHAO Tong XU Lianyou CHENG Xiaomin 2021Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2021,36,4:0
