1Outcomes in refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma:results fromamulticenter real-world study in China显示文摘Background:Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL)patients refractory to rituximab-based immunochemotherapy have a dismal prognosis.However,the definition of refractory DLBCL remains inconsistent and no large cohort study data is available from Asian countries.To validate the definition and outcomes of refractory DLBCL in China,we conducted a multicenter,retrospective cohort study.Methods:The REtrospective AnaLysis of Treatment REspoNse of refractory DLBCL(REAL-TREND)study was performed using real-world data from 8 centers in China.DLBCL patients with curative intent were included in the REAL-TREND dataset.Overall survival(OS)was estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared by the log-rank test.Due to heterogeneity in response rates among different centers,the response rates of refractory patients were pooled using random-effect models.Multivariate survival analysis was performed using the Cox regression model.Results:A total of 2778 DLBCL patients diagnosed between January,2010 and December,2015 were enrolled to this study.After validating previous definitions,the SCHOLAR-1 study was most suitable to define refractory DLBCL.The estimated 5-year cumulative incidence of refractory patients was 20%(95% confidence Interval[CI]=18%-22%).After the determination of refractory disease,overall response rate and complete remission rate were 30%(95%CI=22%-38%)and 9%(95%CI=4%-15%),respectively.Patients with either no response to immunochemotherapy or relapse within 12 months after stem-cell transplantation had inferior survival with a median OS of 5.9 months(95%CI=5.5-7.1 months)and 2-year OS rate of 16%(95%CI=12%-20%).International prognostic index score 4-5(hazard ratio[HR]=2.22;95%CI=1.47-3.35),central nervous systemrelapse(HR=1.43;95%CI=1.04-1.97),and best response status(HR=2.68;95%CI=1.42-5.03 for partial remission.HR=5.97,95%CI=3.21-11.11 for stable disease/progressive disease)were independent unfavorable prognostic factors.Conclusions:This is the first large-scale Asian cohort study focusing on outcomes of refractory DLBCL.The definition of the SCHOLAR-1 study identifies patients with homogenously inferior survival,thus is appropriate to select refractory DLBCL.Due to poor clinical outcomes in the rituximab era,patients with refractory DLBCL may be potential candidates for novel treatment modalities.Shuo Wang Li Wang Jianda Hu Wenbin Qian Xi Zhang Yu Hu Qi Zhu Bobin Chen Depei Wu Chung-Chou H.Chang Pengpeng Xu Xiaoyun Zheng Juying Wei Yao Liu Guohui Cui Yong Tang Yan Ma Haiwen Huang Hongmei Yi Weili Zhao 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,3:10
2High-Performance Flexible Asymmetric Supercapacitor Based on CoAl-LDH and rGO Electrodes显示文摘A flexible asymmetric supercapacitor(ASC)based on a Co Al-layered double hydroxide(Co Al-LDH)electrode and a reduced graphene oxide(r GO) electrode was successfully fabricated. The Co Al-LDH electrode as a positive electrode was synthesized by directly growing Co Al-LDH nanosheet arrays on a carbon cloth(CC)through a facile hydrothermal method, and it delivered a specific capacitance of 616.9 F g^(-1)at a current density of1 A g^(-1). The r GO electrode as a negative electrode was synthesized by coating r GO on the CC via a simple dipcoating method and revealed a specific capacitance of110.0 F g^(-1)at a current density of 2 A g^(-1). 3Characterization of integrons and novel cassette arrays in bacteria from clinical isloates in China,2000-2014显示文摘Rapid dissemination of antibiotic resistance genes among bacterial isolates is an increasing problem in China.Integron,a conserved DNA sequence,which is carried on episomal genetic structures,plays a very important role in development of antibiotic resistance.This systematic analysis was based on MEDLINE and EMBASE databases.We summarized the distribution and proportion of different types of gene cassette arrays of integrons(including class 1,2,3 and atypical class 1 integron) from clinical bacteria isolates in China.Fifty-six literatures were included in this study.Most of the strains were Gram-negative bacteria(94.1%,7,364/7,822) while only 5.9% strains were Grampositive bacteria.Class 1 integrons were detected in 54.2%(3956/7295) Gram-negative strains.aadA2 was the most popular gene cassette array detected from 60 Gram-positive bacteria while dfrA17-aadA5 were detected in 426 Gramnegative bacteria.This study identified 12 novel gene cassette arrays which have not been previously found in any species.All the novel gene cassette arrays were detected from Gram-negative bacteria.A regional characteristic of distribution of integrons was presented in this study.The results highlight a need for continuous surveillance of integrons and provide a guide for future research on integron-mediated bacteria resistance.Wenying Xia Ting Xu Tingting Qin Pengpeng Liu Yun Liu Haiquan Kang Bing Gu Ping Ma 2016The Journal of Biomedical Research2016,30,4:5
4Rationally tailoring interface characteristics of ZnO/amorphous carbon/graphene for heat-conduction microwave absorbers显示文摘With the increasingly severe electromagnetic interference issue and the huge heat dissipation demand caused by the miniaturized and integrated electronic devices,exploring the heat-conduction microwave absorption(MA)materials is highly desired and remains a great challenge.Herein,we reported the fabrication of ZnO/amorphous carbon(ZnO/AC)hybrid films covered on the surface of graphene(ZnO/AC/Graphene)to simultaneously apply as the MA and thermal management materials.The ZnO/AC coatings synthesized with the auxiliary of an atomic layer deposition(ALD)method are highly uniform and controllable,which can significantly improve the MA performance and thermal conduction properties of graphene.The reflection loss(RL)of−55.4 dB and the effective absorption bandwidth of 5.3 GHz were achieved with thickness of 2.0 mm for ZnO/AC/Graphene at a low loading content(3 wt.%).The minimum RL of−57.9 dB can be obtained in the ZnO/AC/Graphene composites at a low frequency(7.8 GHz).Moreover,the absorption frequency can be regulated by changing the ZnO/AC which can be readily implemented by adjusting the ALD cycles of ZnO.The thermal conductivity of ZnO/AC/Graphene is up to 257.8 mW·m^(−1)·K^(−1),increased by 53.2%compared with natural rubber.The enhancement mechanisms of microwave loss and heat conduction are systematically studied in detail.This work not only develops an excellent candidate,but also provides a novel strategy to design functional materials for heat-conduction MA application.Maofan Zhou Xuefei Xu Gengping Wan Pengpeng Mou Shengjie Teng Guizhen Wang 2022Nano Research2022,15,10:3

6CRISPR-Cas adaptive immune systems in Sulfolobales:genetic studies and molecular mechanisms显示文摘CRISPR-Cas systems provide the small RNA-based adaptive immunity to defend against invasive genetic elements in archaea and bacteria.Organisms of Sulfolobales,an order of thermophilic acidophiles belonging to the Crenarchaeotal Phylum,usually contain both type I and typeⅢCRISPR-Cas systems.Two species,Saccharolobus solfataricus and Sulfolobus islandicus,have been important models for CRISPR study in archaea,and knowledge obtained from these studies has greatly expanded our understanding of molecular mechanisms of antiviral defense in all three steps:adaptation,expression and crRNA processing,and interference.Four subtypes of CRISPR-Cas systems are common in these organisms,including I-A,I-D,Ⅲ-B,andⅢ-D.These cas genes form functional modules,e.g.,all genes required for adaptation and for interference in the I-A immune system are clustered together to form aCas and i Cas modules.Genetic assays have been developed to study mechanisms of adaptation and interference by different CRISPR-Cas systems in these model archaea,and these methodologies are useful in demonstration of the protospacer-adjacent motif(PAM)-dependent DNA interference by I-A interference modules and multiple interference activities byⅢ-B Cmr systems.Ribonucleoprotein effector complexes have been isolated for SulfolobalesⅢ-B andⅢ-D systems,and their biochemical characterization has greatly enriched the knowledge of molecular mechanisms of these novel antiviral immune responses.Zhenxiao Yu Suping Jiang Yuan Wang Xuhui Tian Pengpeng Zhao Jianan Xu Mingxia Feng Qunxin She 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,5:2

10Solution-phase synthesis of ordered mesoporous carbon as resonant-gravimetric sensing material for room-temperature H2S detection显示文摘H2S can cause multiple diseases and poses a great threat to human health.However,the precise detection of extremely toxic H2S at room temperature is still a great challenge.Here,a facile solvent evaporation induced aggregating assembly(EIAA)method has been applied for the production of ordered mesoporous carbon(OMCs)in an acidic THF/H2 O solution with high-molecular-weight poly(ethylene oxide)-b-polystyrene(PEO-b-PS)copolymers as the structure-directing agent,formaldehyde and resorcinol as carbon precursors.Along with the continuous evaporation of THF from the mixed solution,cylindrical micelles are formed in the solution and further assemble into highly ordered mesostructure.The obtained OMCs possesses a two-dimensional(2 D)hexagonal mesostructure with uniform and large pore diameter(~19.2 nm),high surface area(599 m2/g),and large pore volume(0.92 cm3/g).When being used as the resonant cantilever gas sensor for room-temperature H2S detection,the OMCs has delivered not only a superior gas sensing performance with ultrafast re s ponse(14 s)and recovery(21 s)even at low concentration(2 ppm)but also an excellent selectivity toward H2S among various common interfering gases.Moreover,the limit of detection is better than 0.2 ppm,indicating its potential application in environmental monitoring and health protection.Jiawei Ni Tao Zhao Lei Tang Pengpeng Qiu Wan Jiang Lianjun Wang Pengcheng Xu Wei Luo 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,6:1
11Soil microbial communities as potential regulators of N2O sources in highly acidic soils显示文摘●Soil pH was a key driver of N2O emission and sources in acidic soils.●N2O emission was significantly positively associated with the ratio of ITS to 16S.●N2O was significantly correlated with bacterial and fungal community composition.●Fungi contributed to N2O in highly acidic tea plantations and vegetable fields.Acidic soil is a main source of global nitrous oxide(N2O)emissions.However,the mechanism behind the high N2O emissions from acidic soils remains a knowledge gap.The objective of this microcosm incubation study was to pin-point the microbial mechanisms involved in N2O production processes in acidic soils.For that purpose,the isotopic signatures and microbial community structure and composition of four soil samples were examined.The results showed that highly acid soils(pH=3.51)emitted 89 times more N2O than alkaline soils(pH=7.95)under the same nitrogen(N)inputs.Fungal denitrification caused high N2O emissions in acidic soils.ITS to 16S abundance ratio was positively correlated with cumulative N2O emissions from the tested soils.The highly acid soils(pH<4.5)showed greater fungal nirK gene abundance and lower abundance of AOA-amoA,AOB-amoA,nirK,nosZ I and nosZ II genes.The unclassified Aspergillaceae fungi(63.65%)dominated the highly acidic soils and was the most strongly correlated genus with N2O emissions.These findings highlight that soil microbial community structures,denitrifying fungi in particular,shaped by low pH(pH<4.5)lead to high N2O emissions from acidic soils.Junhui Yin Huaihai Chen Pengpeng Duan Kun Zhu Naihui Li Yan Ma Yumeng Xu Jingheng Guo Rui Liu Qing Chen 2023Soil Ecology Letters2023,5,4:1
12Organic-Inorganic Interaction Recorded by Polycyclic Aromatic Steranes in Continental Epithermal Ore Deposits显示文摘Continental epithermal ore deposits are commonly associated with sedimentary organic matter,oils or solid bitumen.These organics embedded in mineral deposits can convey valuable information of the ore genesis.However,the extent to which the formation of ore minerals was recorded by organic compounds remains largely unknown,as also is how metal-rich ores interfere with the molecular proxies in the temperature regime envisaged for hydrothermal activity.The molecular compositional changes of various polycyclic aromatic steranes and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and compounds derived from the Jinding Pb/Zn deposit,SW China provide new data.Aliphatic regular steranes are present as traces.The transformation from polycyclic aromatic steranes to unsubstituted polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons is observed to show an increased trend with increasing hydrothermal alteration levels;this is consistent with the transformation from unsubstituted polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons to heterocyclic compounds.Dehydrocyclization(aromatization)of polycyclic biological compounds and hydrodecyclization(dearomatization)of polycyclic aromatic compounds are two important reaction pathways in hydrothermal systems with moderate temperature.This detailed investigation of organicinorganic interactions of two groups of polycyclic compounds with metal-rich ores provides insights into the questions on how and to what extent the formation of Pb/Zn deposits can be recorded by organics.This work will improve our understanding of carbon reduction,oxidation or condensation in the deep Earth and the carbon exchange between the Earth's crust and mantle,and may shed light on the processes for ultra-deep hydrocarbon exploration.XU Huiyuan LIU Quanyou JIN Zhijun ZHU Dongya MENG Qingqiang LI Pengpeng ZHU Biqing 2023Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2023,97,1:1
13Yolk-shell structured Fe@void@mesoporous silica with high magnetization for activating peroxymonosulfate显示文摘Sulfate radical anion(SO4*)based Fenton-like reaction have recently received a large quantity of attention owing to their strong oxidative capacity and high selectivity toward organic pollutants.However,the development of a high-efficient catalyst for activation of peroxymonosulfate(PMS)with a fast separation is still challengeable.Herein,magnetic mesoporous silica composites with a yolk-shell structure(Fe@void@mSiO2)have been prepared via a successive coating strategy,followed by a hightemperature in-situ treatment and demonstrated as a high-efficient and fast magnetic separable catalyst for the activation of PMS.The resultant material possesses a well-defined yolk-shell structure with high specific surface area(~495.0 m^2/g),uniform pore size(~6.9 nm)and super large magnetic susceptibility(~105 emu/g).Owing to the unique properties,the material possesses an excellent degradation activity for tetracyclines(TC),which is much higher than the commercialized Zero Valent Iron(ZVI)nanoparticles.Additionally,the catalyst is able to work over a broad pH range and be quickly recycled by using an external magnetic field.This research provides a promising strategy for the synthesis and design of multifunctional catalyst for the Fenton-like process.Bingqian Xu Wan Jiang Lianjun Wang Binota Thokchom Pengpeng Qiu Wei Luo 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,7:1
14The modifiable areal unit problem in traffic safety:Basic issue, potential solutions and future research显示文摘This study fully addressed the modifiable areal unit problem(MAUP) that was well-known in geography but generally ignored by safety analysis. The basic issue of MAUP was introduced firstly with a case study to explicitly demonstrate the existence of the problem in macro level crash modeling, and then four potential strategies, i.e., using disaggregate data as possible,capturing spatial non-stationarity, designing optimal zoning systems, conducting sensitivity analysis to report the scope and magnitude of MAUP, were proposed and illustrated in an integrated way, followed by the future research directions. Results revealed that more efforts are desired to calibrate the state-of-art modeling technique at various levels of aggregation based on spatial homogeneity in traffic safety, transport characteristics, and demographical factors.
