| 1 | Geospatial-temporal analysis of land-use changes in the Yellow River Delta during the last 40 years显示文摘Comprehensive study on land-use change of spatial pattern and temporal process is the key component in land use/land cover changes (LUCC) study nowadays. According to the theories and methods of Geo-information Tupu (Carto-methodology in Geo-information, CMGI) for geospatial and temporal analysis and integration models of spatial pattern and temporal processes in GIS, the paper puts forward Tupu methodology of land-use change and names the basic synthetic unit of spatial-temporal information Tupu unit. Tupu unit is the synthetic unit for geospatial-temporal analysis, which is synthesized by “space·attribute·process”features and composed of relatively homogeneous geographic unit and temporal unit. Based on the spatial features of 4 stages of land-use change in 1956, 1984, 1991, and 1996, a series of Tupu on land-use change in the Yellow River Delta (YRD) are created and studied in the paper, which includes 3 temporal units of spatial-temporal Tupu, process Tupu of land-use changes during the last 40 years, and reconstructions of a series of “arisen”Tupu, “arisen”process Tupu and pattern Tupu on land-use changes in the last 40 years by remapping tables of a reclassifying system. There are 3 methods of Tupu analysis on land-use change that are used to disclose change processes of land-use spatial conversion in YRD, such as spatial query and statistics, order of Tupu units by area and land-use conversion matrixes. In order to reveal the spatial pattern of land-use change processes, we analyze spatial-temporal changes of each Tupu above in various temporal units and spatial difference of pattern Tupu in the last 40 years by dynamic Tupu units. Tupu analysis on regional land-use is a promising trial on the comprehensive research of “spatial pattern of dynamic process”and “temporal process of spatial pattern”in LUCC research. | 4 | Research Progress on Heat Stress of Rice at Flowering Stage显示文摘Global warming has caused frequent occurrence of heat stress at the flowering stage of single-season rice in the Yangtze River region of China, which results in declines of spikelet fertility and yield in rice. Rice flowering stage is the most sensitive period to high temperatures, and therefore, the key for heat stress happening is the flowering stage coinciding with high temperature, which causes spikelet fertility decreasing in heat-sensitive varieties, and is the major factor for heat injury differences among various rice planting regions. With the development of rice breeding, temperature indexes for heat stress has been converted from daily maximum temperature of 35 oC to 38 oC with the stress duration of more than 3 d. During the flowering stage, anther dehiscence inhibition and low pollen shedding onto the stigma are two main reasons for spikelet fertility reduction under high temperatures. At panicle initiation stage, high temperatures aggravate spikelet degeneration, and destroy floral organ development. Various types of rice varieties coexist in production, and indica-japonica hybrid rice demonstrates the highest heat resistance in general, followed by indica and japonica rice varieties. In production, avoiding high temperature is the main strategy of preventing heat stress, and planting suitable cultivars and adjustment of sowing date are the most effective measures. Irrigation is an effective real-time cultivation measure to decline the canopy temperature during the rice flowering stage. We suggested that further study should be focused on exploring heat injury differences among different rice variety types, and innovating rice-planting methods according to planting system changes in rice planting regions with extreme heat stress. | 5 | Effect of Different Rootstocks on the Salt Stress Tolerance in Watermelon Seedlings显示文摘The selection of salt-tolerant watermelon rootstocks requires the evaluation of its underlying mechanism. The present study investigated the effect of applying 200 mmol·L-1 NaCl on various physiological and biochemical parameters of Citrullus lanatus ‘Jingxin No.2'(abbreviated as W) seedlings grafted onto W, Cucurbita moschata ‘Quanneng Tiejia'(P1), ‘Kaijia No.1'(P2), and Lagenaria siceraria ‘Hanzhen No.3'(G), which were grown hydroponically. All the measured growth parameters were significantly inhibited by salt stress, with W/P2 exhibiting superior growth. Salt stress increased Na+uptake, which in turn disrupted K+/Na+homeostasis in all grafting combinations. The photosynthetic capacity, chlorophyll concentration, and photochemical efficiency of photosystem II of all grafts significantly decreased with salt stress. However, W grafted onto G and P2 showed higher resistance than W grafted onto W and P1. Electrolyte leakage(EL) superoxide dismutase, catalase, peroxidase, and ascorbate peroxidase activity were significantly affected by both grafting and salt stress. Minimum EL was observed in W/P2, which also exhibited superior antioxidative capacity. Physiological and biochemical assessment indicated that W grafted onto the P2 rootstock displayed the greatest salt tolerance. | 6 | A novel stability prediction approach for thin-walled component milling considering material removing process显示文摘The milling stability of thin-walled components is an important issue in the aviation manufacturing industry, which greatly limits the removal rate of a workpiece. However, for a thin-walled workpiece, the dynamic characteristics vary at different positions. In addition, the removed part also has influence on determining the modal parameters of the workpiece. Thus,the milling stability is also time-variant. In this work, in order to investigate the time variation of a workpiece's dynamic characteristics, a new computational model is firstly derived by dividing the workpiece into a removed part and a remaining part with the Ritz method. Then, an updated frequency response function is obtained by Lagrange's equation and the corresponding modal parameters are extracted. Finally, multi-mode stability lobes are plotted by the different quadrature method and its accuracy is verified by experiments. | 8 | A new method of pseudo absence data generation in landslide susceptibility mapping with a case study of Shenzhen显示文摘Landslide susceptibility mapping is a typical two-class classification problem where generating pseudo absence (non-slide) data plays an important role.In this paper,a new method,target space exteriorization sampling method (TSES),is presented to generate pseudo absence data based on presence data directly in feature space.TSES exteriorizes a presence sample to become a pseudo absence one by replacing the value of one of its features with a new one outside the value range of this feature of all presence data.This method is compared with two existing methods,buffer controlled sampling (BCS) and iteratively refined sampling (IRS),in a study area of Shenzhen city.The pseudo absence data generated by each of these three methods are organized into 20 subsets with increasing data sizes to study the effects of the proportion of pseudo absence data to presence data.The landslide susceptibility maps of the study area are calculated with all these datasets by general additive model (GAM).It can be concluded that,through a 10-fold validation,TSES and IRS-based models have similar AUC values that are both greater than that of BCS,but TSES outperforms BCS and IRS in prediction efficiency.TSES results also have more reasonable spatial and histogram distributions than BCS and IRS,which can support categorization of an area into more susceptibility ranks,while IRS shows a tendency to separate the whole study area into two susceptibility extremes.It can be also concluded that when using BCS,the pseudo absence data proportion to the presence data would be about 50% to get a considerable result,while for IRS or TSES the minimum proportion is 40%. | XIAO ChenChao TIAN Yuan SHI WenZhong GUO QingHua WU Lun | 2010 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2010,53,S1: | 7 |
| 9 | Decrement of Sugar Consumption in Rice Young Panicle Under High Temperature Aggravates Spikelet Number Reduction显示文摘Two rice genotypes Huanghuazhan(HHZ, heat-resistant) and IR36(heat-susceptible) were subjected to high-temperature(HT, 40℃) and normal-temperature(NT, 32℃) treatments at the spikelet differentiation stage. HT treatment inhibited spikelet differentiation, aggravated spikelet degeneration, reduced spikelet size, and disordered carbohydrate allocation. Meanwhile, HT treatment increased nonstructural carbohydrate content in leaves, but decreased that in stems and young panicles, and the same tendencies of sucrose and starch contents were observed in leaves and stem. However, HT treatment significantly increased the sucrose content and sharply decreased the glucose and fructose contents in young panicles. Lower activity levels of soluble acid invertase(EC3.2.1.26) and sucrose synthase(EC2.4.1.13) were observed under HT treatment. Moreover, HT treatment reduced the activities of key enzymes associated with glycolysis and the tricarboxylic acid cycle, which indicated sucrose consumption was inhibited in young panicles under HT treatment. Exogenous glucose and fructose applied under HT treatment increased the spikelet number more than exogenous sucrose. In conclusion, the results demonstrated that the reduction of spikelet number under high temperature was more affected by the decrease in sugar consumption than the blocking of sucrose transport. | 12 | In Vivo Fast Induction of Homogeneous Autopolyploids via Callus in Sour Jujube(Ziziphus acidojujuba Cheng et Liu)显示文摘Polyploidization has been demonstrated as a very effective approach in fruit tree improvement.Sour jujube(Ziziphus acidojujuba Cheng et Liu) is a promising diploid wild,traditional fruit species(2n = 2x = 24) that is rich in vitamin C,which is the main rootstock of Chinese jujube(Z.jujuba Mill.).The novel method we developed for rapid in vivo induction of homogeneous autopolyploids(IVIHA) via callus in Chinese jujube was first applied and further optimized in sour jujube.Under optimized conditions,an average of one pure autotetraploid shoot could be regenerated from one treated branch,thereby indicating a relatively high efficiency rate.A total of 9 pure autotetraploid genotypes were created,and one of these was released as a new cultivar named ‘Zhuguang' in 2015.Moreover,unexpected octoploids and hexaploids were also simultaneously created and detected.The leaves of tetraploids were thicker,broader,and darker in color than those of the original diploids,whereas the leaf sizes of octoploids were much smaller compared to that of diploids.However,stoma size increased with the occurrence of ploidy,mainly from diploid to octoploid.The well grown ploidies of jujube included diploids,triploids,and tetraploids.Anatomical observation indicated that adventitious buds/shoots emerged from the callus that formed on the cut,which was then followed by the development of connective vascular tissues between the adventitious bud and the stock plant tissue.This study demonstrates the universality of the IVIHA method that was initially developed in Chinese jujube,as well as provides a foundation for high-efficiency pure polyploid induction in sour jujube. | SHI Qinghua LIU Ping LIU Mengjun WANG Jiurui ZHAO Jin ZHAO Zhihui DAI Li | 2016 | Horticultural Plant Journal2016,2,3: | 5 |

| 17 | Design and application of 60mer oligonucleotide microarray in SARS coronavirus detection显示文摘The 60mer oligonucleotide microarray was designed and applied to detecting of SARS (severe acute res-piratory syndrome) coronavirus. Thirty 60mer specific oligos were designed to cover the whole genome of the first submit-ted coronavirus strain, according to the sequence of TOR2 (GENEBANK Accession: AY274119). These primers were synthesized and printed into a microarray with 12×12 spots. RNAs were extracted from the throat swab and gargling fluid of SARS patients and reverse-transcripted into the double strand cDNAs. The cDNAs were prepared as re-stricted cDNA fragments by the restriction display (RD) technique and labeled by PCR with the Cy5-universal primer. The labeled samples were then applied to the oligo microar-ray for hybridization. The diagnostic capability of the mi-croarray was evaluated after the washing and scanning steps. The scanning result showed that samples of SARS patients were hybridized with multiple SARS probes on the microar-ray, and there is no signal on the negative and blank controls. These results indicate that the genome of SARS coronavirus can be detected in parallel by the 60mer oligonucleotide mi-croarray, which can improve the positive ratio of the diagno-sis. | 18 | Control of Southern Root-knot Nematodes on Tomato and Regulation of Soil Bacterial Community by Biofumigation with Zanthoxylum bungeanum Seed显示文摘Biofumigation is an environmentally friendly strategy used to control nematodes and plant diseases.The volatile oil of Zanthoxylum bungeanum has high insecticidal and antibacterial activity.However,it is not known if the seed of Z.bungeanum is a suitable material for biofumigation to control southern root-knot nematodes(SRKN)on tomato,and how it may regulate the soil bacterial community structure.We used pot experiments in the greenhouse to determine the effects of Z.bungeanum seeds on SRKN,plant growth parameters,soil physicochemical and microbial characteristics.A total of 26 volatile components,including nematicidally active substances,were identified from Z.bungeanum seeds.Z.bungeanum seed biofumigation significantly reduced the SRKN population by 88.89%and 81.55%on the 50th and 100th day after transplanting,respectively.Compared to the control,the total soluble sugar,soluble solids,soluble protein,titratable acid,root activity and the fruit yield per tomato plant increased significantly.The content of soil alkali-hydrolyzed nitrogen,available potassium and the soil enzyme activities were also significantly increased.The soil bacterial diversity and the co-occurrence network complexity were increased by Z.bungeanum seed biofumigation.Relativelymore keystone OTUs in biofumigation soil had potential plant growth-promoting capabilities.The function of Z.bungeanum seed increasing tomato production in SRKN-infected soil depends on directly killing SRKN and improving soil properties.These results indicate that Z.bungeanum seed can be used as both a nematicide and a high quality organic fertilizer in tomato production. | Xiaoyun Wang Wencong Shi Jilei Wang Zheng Gao Shuang Li Ningxin Wang Qinghua Shi | 2021 | Horticultural Plant Journal2021,7,1: | 3 |
