| Daxiao Sun Rongbo Wu Jingxiang Zheng Pilong Li Li YU | 2018 | Cell Research2018,28,4: | 21
Regulatory mechanism of hormones of the pituitary-target gland axes in kidney-Yang deficiency based on a support vector machine model显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To study the development mechanism of kidney-Yang deficiency through the establishment of support vector machine models of relevant hormones of the pituitary-target gland axes in rats with kidney-Yang deficiency syndrome.METHODS:The kidney-Yang deficiency rat model was created by intramuscular injection of hydrocortisone, and contents of the hormones of the pituita- ry-thyroid axis:thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH),3,3',5-triiodothyronine(T_3) and thyroxine(T_4);hormones of the pituitary-adrenal gland axis:adrenocorticotropic hormone(ACTH) and Cortisol(CORT);and hormones of the pituitary-gonadal axis:luteinizing hormone(LH),follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),and testosterone(T),were determined in the early, middle, and advanced stages.Ten support vector regression(SVR) models of the hormones were established to analyze the mutual relationships among the hormones of the three axes.RESULTS:The feedback control action of the pituitary-adrenal axis began to lose efficacy from the middle stage of kidney-Kong deficiency. The contents all hormones of the three pituitary-target gland axes decreased in the advanced stage.Relative errors of the jackknife test of the SVR models all were less than 10%.CONCLUSION:Imbalances in mutual regulation among the hormones of the pituitary-target gland axes, especially loss of effectiveness of the pituitary-adrenal axis,is one pathogenesis of kidney-Yang deficiency. The SVR model can accurately reflect the complicated non-linear relationships among pituitary-target gland axes in rats with of kidney-Yang deficiency. | Wang Xiufeng Zhang Lei Huang Rongbo Wu Qinghua Min Jianxin Ma Na Luo Laicheng | 2015 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,2: | 7
Who is the“murderer”of the bloom in coastal waters of Fujian,China,in 2019?显示文摘On May 24-29,2019,a bloom occurring in Pingtan coastal areas of Fujian Province caused mass mortality of cage-cultured fish(Plectorhinchus cinctus and Pagrosomus major).During the bloom, two major causative organisms were present:Prorocentrum donghaiense(at a concentration of 1.46×10^7 cells/L)and an unknown naked dinoflagellate(4.58×10^6 cells/L).The naked dinoflagellate was isolated and cultured in this study, and its morphological features were examined using light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The large subunit(LSU)of the rRNA gene and the internal transcribed spacer(ITS)region of the naked dinoflagellate were also sequenced for field bloom samples and lab culture strains(PT-A and PT-B).On the basis of its morphological characteristics and molecular sequences, the unknown naked dinoflagellate was identified as Karlodinium digitatum.According to the phylogenetic analysis, the Karl.digitatum was most closely related to Karlodinium australe and Karlodinium armiger, and the three species clustered into a single clade of Karlodinium with bootstrap/posterior probability values of 95%/0.99 and 86%/0.99 inferred from LSU and ITS sequences,respectively.Karl.digitatum was first reported as Karenia digitata,a new harmful algal species bloomed in Hong Kong,China,in 1998.In present study,we gave a detailed morphological and phylogenetic description of Karl.digitatum and submitted the molecular sequences of this species to GenBank for the first time. | CEN Jingyi WANG Jianyan HUANG Lifen DING Guangmao QI Yuzao CAO Rongbo CUI Lei Lü Songhui | 2020 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,3: | 5
Cornuside alleviates experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis by inhibiting Th17 cell infiltration into the central nervous system显示文摘The present study was conducted to clarify the therapeutic effect of cornuside on experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE)and its influence on T helper 17(Th17)cell and regulatory T(Treg)cell infiltration into the central nervous system.Rats were randomly placed into four treatment groups:control,EAE,EAE+cornuside, and EAE+prednisolone. The neurological function scores of rats were assessed daily. On the second day after EAE rats began to show neurological deficit symptoms, the four groups were treated with normal saline, normal saline,cornuside(150 mg/kg),and prednisolone(5 mg/kg),respectively.The treatment was discontinued after two weeks, and the spinal cord was obtained for hematoxylin and eosin(H&E)and luxol fast blue staining,as well as retinoic acid receptor-related orphan receptorγ(RORγ)and forkhead box protein P3(Foxp3)immunohistochemical staining.Blood was collected for Th17 and Treg cell flow cytometry testing, and the serum levels of interleukin(IL)-17A,IL-10,transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β),IL-6,IL-23,and IL-2 were measured via enzymelinked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Compared with rats in the EAE group, rats in the EAE+cornuside and EAE+prednisolone groups began to recover from neurological deficits earlier, and had a greater degree of improvement of symptoms.Focal inflammation, demyelination, and RORγ-positive cell infiltration were reduced by cornuside or prednisolone treatment, whereas the Foxp3-positive cell numbers were not significantly different.Meanwhile, the number of Th17 cells and the IL-17A,IL-6,and IL-23 levels were lower in the blood after cornuside or prednisolone treatment, whereas the number of Treg cells or the levels of IL-10,TGF-β,and IL-2 were not markedly different.Cornuside can alleviate symptoms of EAE neurological deficits through its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects, and Th17 cells may be one of its therapeutic targets. | Rongbo ZHANG Jin LIU Bin XU You WU Shunli LIANG Qiang YUAN | 2021 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2021,22,5: | 5
Independent modal variable structure fuzzy active vibration control of thin plates laminated with photostrictive actuators显示文摘Photostrictive actuators can produce photodeformation strains under illumination of ultraviolet lights. They can realize non-contact micro-actuation and vibration control for elastic plate structures. Considering the switching actuation and nonlinear dynamic characteristics of photostrictive actuators, a variable structure fuzzy active control scheme is presented to control the light intensity applied to the actuators. Firstly, independent modal vibration control equations of photoelectric laminated plates are established based on modal analysis techniques. Then, the optimal light switching function is derived to increase the range of sliding modal area, and the light intensity self-adjusting fuzzy active controller is designed. Meanwhile, a continuous function is applied to replace a sign function to reduce the variable structure control (VSC) chattering. Finally, numerical simulation is carried out, and simulation results indicate that the proposed control strategy provides better performance and control effect to plate actuation and control than velocity feedback control, and suppresses vibration effectively. | He Rongbo Zheng Shijie | 2013 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2013,26,2: | 4
Enrichment of thermophilic and mesophilic microbial consortia for efficient degradation of corn stalk显示文摘Six different environmental samples were applied to enrich microbial consortia for efficient degradation of corn stalk, under the thermophilic and mesophilic conditions. The consortium obtained from anaerobic digested sludge under thermophilic condition(TC-Y)had the highest lignocellulose-degrading activity. The CO_2yield was 246.73 m L/g VS in23 days, meanwhile, the maximum CO_2production rate was 15.48 mL/(CO_2·d),which was28.75%and 52.27%higher than that under mesophilic condition, respectively. The peak value of cellulase activity reached 0.105 U/mL,which was at least 34.61%higher than the other groups. In addition,49.5%of corn stalk was degraded in 20 days, moreover, the degradation ratio of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin can reach 52.76%,62.45%and42.23%,respectively.Microbial consortium structure analysis indicated that the TC-Y contained the phylum of Gemmatimonadetes,Acidobacteria,Chloroflexi,Planctomycetes,Firmicutes, and Proteobacteria.Furthermore, the Pseudoxanthomonas belonging to GammaProteobacteria might be the key bacterial group for the lignocellulose degradation. These results indicated the capability of degrading un-pretreated corn stalk and the potential for further investigation and application of TC-Y. | Jun Lu Zhiman Yang Wanying Xu Xiaoshuang Shi Rongbo Guo | 2019 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,4: | 4
Multi-mode optimal fuzzy active vibration control of composite beams laminated with photostrictive actuators显示文摘Firstly, a multi-field coupling finite element formulation of composited beam laminated with the photostrictive actuators is developed in this paper. Moreover, an optimal fuzzy active control algorithm is also proposed on the basis of the combination of optimal control and fuzzy one. This method opens a new avenue to resolve the contradiction between the linear system control method and nonlinear actuating characteristics of photostrictive actuators. The desired control for suppressing multi-modal vibration of photoelectric laminated beam is firstly obtained through optimal control and then the fuzzy control is used to approach the desired mechanical strain induced by photostrictive actuators. Thus, the multi-mode vibration control of beam is realized. In the design process of optimal fuzzy controller, the design of fuzzy control is independent of optimal control. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed control method can effectively realize multi-modal vibration control of photoelectric laminated beams, and the control effect of optimal fuzzy control is better than that of optimal state feedback control. | Mancang JIA Shijie ZHENG Rongbo HE | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2019,32,6: | 3
A Fully Complex-Valued Gradient Neural Network for Rapidly Computing Complex-Valued Linear Matrix Equations显示文摘This paper concerns online solution of complex-valued linear matrix equations in the complex domain. Differing from the real-valued neural network, which is only designed for solving real-valued linear matrix equations in the real domain, a fully complex-valued Gradient neural network(GNN) is developed for computing complex-valued linear matrix equations. The fully complex-valued GNN model has the merit of reducing the unnecessary complexities in theoretical analysis and realtime computation, as compared to the real-valued neural network. Besides, the convergence analysis of the proposed complex-valued GNN model is presented, and simulation experiments are performed to substantiate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed complex-valued GNN model for online computing the complex-valued linear matrix equations in the complex domain. | XIAO Lin LU Rongbo | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Electronics2017,26,6: | 3
A Finite-Time Recurrent Neural Network for Computing Quadratic Minimization with Time-Varying Coefficients显示文摘This paper proposes a Finite-time Zhang neural network(FTZNN) to solve time-varying quadratic minimization problems. Different from the original Zhang neural network(ZNN) that is specially designed to solve time-varying problems and possesses an exponential convergence property, the proposed neural network exploits a sign-bi-power activation function so that it can achieve the finite-time convergence. In addition, the upper bound of the finite convergence time for the FTZNN model is analytically estimated in theory. For comparative purposes, the original ZNN model is also presented to solve time-varying quadratic minimization problems. Numerical experiments are performed to evaluate and compare the performance of the original ZNN model and the FTZNN model. The results demonstrate that the FTZNN model is a more effective solution model for solving time-varying quadratic minimization problems. | XIAO Lin LU Rongbo | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Electronics2019,28,2: | 2
Realistic Cosmetic Plastic Surgery Simulation Based on the Golden Ratio显示文摘Facial cosmetology is usually operated by surgeons on the basis of clinical experiences and is full of risks because of the lack of objective criteria and auxiliary tools. The available plastic simulation systems are not easy to manipulate. This paper presents a realistic cosmetic plastic surgery simulation framework guided automatically by golden ratio data, which is suitable for personalized realistic facial models from 3D laser scan. A golden ratio facial mask is made based on the ideal golden ratio facial mask data, with reference to the facial ratio of goodlooking groups of eastern people. The plastic design for the region of interest will be driven automatically by Laplacian coordinates deformation, based on the matched characteristic points and lines of the golden ratio facial mask to set the boundary conditions. The evaluation from clinical surgeons shows that the new plastic simulation system is practical and will be widely used in clinical operations. | LI Jianfeng LIAO Shenghui LU Rongbo TENG Juan LUO Xiong ZOU Beiji | 2016 | Chinese Journal of Electronics2016,25,5: | 2
Protective effect of curcumin on tumor necrosis factor-alpha-induced neuronal damage in the rat hippocampus A relationship to the inhibition of neuronal Ca^(2+) influx显示文摘BACKGROUND: Previous studies of curcumin have focused mainly on its cytotoxic properties for antitumor therapy. There are few studies addressing the application of curcumin in the prevention and treatment of nervous system diseases.OBJECTIVE: To observe the protective effect of curcumin against tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α)-induced neuronal damage in the rat hippocampus and to explore the intervention effect of curcumin on Ca2+ influx following neuronal damage.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING: A cell morphological and physiological study was performed at the Institute of Brain Research,Medical College of Jinan University,China, from December 2006 to June 2007.MATERIALS: Curcumin (Sigma,USA) and TNF-α (Sigma,USA) were used in this study.METHODS: Hippocampal neurons were isolated from one-day neonatal rats and primarily cultured for 5 days.Following this they received 1 μmol/L curcumin and 100 ng/mL TNF-α pre-treatment.Dynamic morphological changes were observed for 1 hour by inverted microscopy. At 48 hours post-treatment,static morphological characteristics of the neurons were observed using inverted microscopy.Subsequently, hippocampal neurons were primarily cultured for 7 days, after receiving 1 μmol/L curcumin and 4.5 ng/mL TNF-α pre-treatment.Intracellular free Ca2+ was measured using Fluo 3/acetoxymethyl ester.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Effects of curcumin on TNF-α-induced neuronal damage and Ca2+ influx in the rat hippocampus were measured.RESULTS: Following curcumin treatment,TNF-α-induced neurons grew as normal.TNF-α induced a rapid Ca2+ influx into the neuronal cytoplasm;however,Ca2+ fluorescence intensity only slightly increased when neurons were co-perfused with curcumin and TNF-α.CONCLUSION: Curcumin has a protective effect on rat hippocampal neurons possibly by reducing the TNF-α-induced rapid Ca2+ influx into neuronal cytoplasm and by maintaining the Ca2+ homeostasis. | Luyan Guo Rongbo Tu Min Lin Jun Dong | 2010 | Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,2: | 2

Rice FLOURY ENDOSPERM22, encoding a pentatricopeptide repeat protein, is involved in both mitochondrial RNA splicing and editing and is crucial for endosperm development显示文摘Most of the reported P-type pentatricopeptide repeat(PPR) proteins play roles in organelle RNA stabilization and splicing. However, P-type PPRs involved in both RNA splicing and editing have rarely been reported, and their underlying mechanism remains largely unknown. Here, we report a rice floury endosperm22(flo22) mutant with delayed amyloplast development in endosperm cells. Map-based cloning and complementation tests demonstrated that FLO22 encodes a mitochondrion-localized P-type PPR protein.Mutation of FLO22 resulting in defective transsplicing of mitochondrial nad1 intron 1 and perhaps causing instability of mature transcripts affected assembly and activity of complex Ⅰ, and mitochondrial morphology and function. RNA-seq analysis showed that expression levels of many genes involved in starch and sucrose metabolism were significantly down-regulated in the flo22mutant compared with the wild type, whereas genes related to oxidative phosphorylation and the tricarboxylic acid cycle were significantly upregulated. In addition to involvement in splicing as a P-type PPR protein, we found that FLO22 interacted with DYW3, a DYW-type PPR protein, and they may function synergistically in mitochondrial RNA editing. The present work indicated that FLO22 plays an important role in endosperm development and plant growth by participating in nad1 maturation and multi-site editing of mitochondrial messager RNA. | Hang Yang Yunlong Wang Yunlu Tian Xuan Teng Zehui Lv Jie Lei Erchao Duan Hui Dong Xue Yang Yuanyan Zhang Yinglun Sun Xiaoli Chen Xiuhao Bao Rongbo Chen Chuanwei Gu Yipeng Zhang Xiaokang Jiang Wenyu Ma Pengcheng Zhang Yi Ji Yu Zhang Yihua Wang Jianmin Wan | 2023 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,3: | 1
