3The effects of the guide field on the structures of electron density depletions in collisionless magnetic reconnection显示文摘Two-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations are performed to investigate the formation of electron density depletions in collisionless magnetic reconnection.In anti-parallel reconnection,the quadrupole structures of the out-of-plane magnetic field are formed,and four symmetric electron density depletion layers can be found along the separatrices due to the effects of magetic mirror.With the increase of the initial guide field,the symmetry of both the out-of-plane magnetic field and electron density depletion layers is distorted.When the initial guide field is sufficiently large,the electron density depletion layers along the lower left and upper right separatrices disappear.The parallel electric field in guide field reconnection is found to play an important role in forming such structures of the electron density depletion layers.The structures of the out-of-plane magnetic field By and electron depletion layers in anti-parallel and guide field reconnection are found to be related to electron flow or in-plane currents in the separatrix regions.In anti-parallel reconnection,electrons flow towards the X line along the separatrices,and are directed away from the X line along the magnetic field lines just inside the separatrices.In guide field reconnection,electrons can only flow towards the X line along the upper left and lower right separatrices due to the existence of the parallel electric field in these regions.LU San LU QuanMing CAO Yang HUANG Can XIE JinLin WANG Shui 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,1:8
4Electron dynamics in collisionless magnetic reconnection显示文摘Magnetic reconnection provides a physical mechanism for fast energy conversion from magnetic energy to plasma kinetic energy. It is closely associated with many explosive phenomena in space plasma, usually collisionless in character. For this reason, researchers have become more interested in collisionless magnetic reconnection. In this paper, the various roles of electron dynamics in collisionless magnetic reconnection are reviewed. First, at the ion inertial length scale, ions and electrons are decoupled. The resulting Hall effect determines the reconnection electric field. Moreover, electron motions determine the current system inside the reconnection plane and the electron density cavity along the separatrices. The current system in this plane produces an out-of-plane magnetic field. Second, at the electron inertial length scale, the anisotropy of electron pressure determines the magnitude of the reconnection electric field in this region. The production of energetic electrons, which is an important characteristic during magnetic reconnection, is accelerated by the reconnection electric field. In addition, the different topologies, temporal evolution and spatial distribution of the magnetic field affect the accelerating process of electrons and determine the final energy of the accelerated electrons. Third, we discuss results from simulations and spacecraft observations on the secondary magnetic islands produced due to secondary instabilities around the X point, and the associated energetic electrons. Furthermore, progress in laboratory plasma studies is also discussed in regard to electron dynamics during magnetic reconnection. 7Fe atoms anchored on defective nitrogen doped hollow carbon spheres as efficient electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction显示文摘Defective electrocatalysts,especially for intrinsic defective carbon,have aroused a wide concern owing to high spin and charge densities.However,the designated nitrogen species favorable for creating defects by the removal of nitrogen,and the influence of defects for the coordination structure of active site and oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)activity have not been elucidated.Herein,we designed and synthesized a pair of electrocatalysts,denoted as Fe-N/C and Fe-ND/C for coordination sites of atomic iron-nitrogen and iron-nitrogen/defect configuration embedded in hollow carbon spheres,respectively,through direct pyrolysis of their corresponding hollow carbon spheres adsorbed with Fe(acac)3.The nitrogen defects were fabricated via the evaporation of pyrrolic-N on nitrogen doped hollow carbon spheres.Results of comparative experiments between Fe-N/C and Fe-ND/C reveal that Fe-ND/C shows superior ORR activity with an onset potential of 30 mV higher than that of Fe-N/C.Fe-ND sites are more favorable for the enhancement of ORR activity.Density functional theory(DFT)calculation demonstrates that Fe-ND/C with proposed coordination structure of FeN_(4-x)(0Panpan Su Wenjuan Huang Jiangwei Zhang Utsab Guharoy Qinggang Du Qiao Sun Qike Jiang Yi Cheng Jie Yang Xiaoli Zhang Yongsheng Liu San Ping Jiang Jian Liu 2021Nano Research2021,14,4:2
8Clinical Predictors for Diagnosing Pandemic (H1N1) 2009 and Seasonal Influenza (H3N2) in Fever Clinics in Beijing,China显示文摘Objective Symptomatic predictors of influenza could assess risks and improve decisions about isolation and outpatient treatment.To develop such predictors,we undertook a prospective analysis of pandemic (H1N1) 2009 and seasonal influenza (H3N2) in patients attending fever clinics.Methods From 1 May 2009 to 1 January 2010,all adult patients admitted to fever clinics for suspected influenza,confirmed by real time RT-PCR,were enrolled.Predictors of influenza virus infection were selected with logistic regression models.Measures of sensitivity,specificity,positive and negative likelihood ratios (LRs) were calculated to identify the best predictors.Results The clinical features and routine blood test results of influenza (H1N1) 2009 and seasonal influenza were similar.The positive and negative LRs of current US CDC influenza-like illness (ILI) criteria were modest in predicting influenza infection.Our modified clinic predictors improved the ability of the positive and negative LRs to recognize pandemic (H1N1) 2009 and seasonal influenza.The revised criteria are:fever ≥38℃ accompanied by at least one of the following—cough,arthralgia or relative lymphopenia.Conclusion Patients with symptoms and signs that meet the new criteria are likely to have influenza and timely antiviral therapy may be appropriate.In addition,physicians should ascertain if influenza is circulating within the community or if there is a contact history of influenza and combine this information with the newly developed criteria to clinically diagnose influenza.DAI Xiao Qiu LIU Min ZHANG Tuo Hong YANG Xue Song LI Song Lin LI Xiao Guang LI Yu Ling KADEERBAI Hai San WU Huang 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,1:2
9Identification of Tremella fuciformis strains Using SRAP, ISSR and RAPD markers显示文摘Three types of molecular markers (SRAP, ISSR and RAPD) were used to identify four Tremella fuciformis strains, T6 (white), T7 (white), T8 (yellow) and T9 (light yellow). Twelve SRAP primer pairs, ten ISSR primers and eight RAPD primers were screened, and identification data obtained using the three molecular markers were consistent in that the four T. fuciformis strains were divided into three groups with T7 and T9 clustered together in a single group. Each RAPD primer generated a higher average number of polymorphic bands than either the SRAP or ISSR primers, and the average similarity between the four strains was 81.34%. SRAP markers reflected more genetic information compared with the two other markers, and the average similarity was 68.98%. 10Comparative study of MCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y)(M=Cu,Mn,Fe)catalysts for selective reduction of NO by CO:Activity and reaction pathways显示文摘Basic oxygen furnace steelmaking leads to the production of CO-rich off-gas.When CO and NO are combined in off-gas,selective catalytic reduction by CO(CO-SCR)effectively achieves the synergistic removal of both pollutants.In this paper,CuCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y),MnCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y),and FeCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y) catalysts are prepared and evaluated for their CO-SCR activity,and the results show that the reaction system needs to be anaerobic;thus,the CO-SCR reaction can be dominant.The T_(90) values of CuCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y) and FeCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y) are 200℃ and 223℃,respectively.The activities of these two catalysts are higher than that of MnCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y)(T_(90)=375℃).Linear nitrate and bridged bidentate nitrate are the main intermediate species involved in NO conversion on the catalyst surface,and bidentate CO_(3)^(2-)��coordination is the main intermediate species involved in CO conversion on the catalyst surface.CuCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y) has high lattice oxygen mobility and is more likely to react with NO and CO.In the presence of oxygen,most CO is oxidized by O_(2),which increases continuously to 100%,100%,and 98%for CuCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y),FeCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y),and MnCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y),respectively;additionally,CO is oxidized by O_(2),and the CO-SCR reaction cannot be carried out.Junyao He Running Kang Xiaolin Wei Junqin Huang Feng Bin Kwun Nam Hui Kwan San Hui Dongyin Wu 2021Carbon Resources Conversion2021,4,1:2

20Global hybrid simulations of soft X-ray emissions in the Earth’s magnetosheath显示文摘Earth’s magnetopause is a thin boundary separating the shocked solar wind plasma from the magnetospheric plasmas,and it is also the boundary of the solar wind energy transport to the magnetosphere.Soft X-ray imaging allows investigation of the large-scale magnetopause by providing a two-dimensional(2-D)global view from a satellite.By performing 3-D global hybrid-particle-in-cell(hybrid-PIC)simulations,we obtain soft X-ray images of Earth’s magnetopause under different solar wind conditions,such as different plasma densities and directions of the southward interplanetary magnetic field.In all cases,magnetic reconnection occurs at low latitude magnetopause.The soft X-ray images observed by a hypothetical satellite are shown,with all of the following identified:the boundary of the magnetopause,the cusps,and the magnetosheath.Local X-ray emissivity in the magnetosheath is characterized by large amplitude fluctuations(up to 160%);however,the maximum line-of-sight-integrated X-ray intensity matches the tangent directions of the magnetopause well,indicating that these fluctuations have limited impact on identifying the magnetopause boundary in the X-ray images.Moreover,the magnetopause boundary can be identified using multiple viewing geometries.We also find that solar wind conditions have little effect on the magnetopause identification.The Solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer(SMILE)mission will provide X-ray images of the magnetopause for the first time,and our global hybrid-PIC simulation results can help better understand the 2-D X-ray images of the magnetopause from a 3-D perspective,with particle kinetic effects considered.Jin Guo TianRan Sun San Lu QuanMing Lu Yu Lin XueYi Wang Chi Wang RongSheng Wang Kai Huang 2024Earth and Planetary Physics2024,8,1:1
