1On comparison of modified ADRCs for nonlinear uncertain systems with time delay显示文摘To tackle systems with both uncertainties and time delays, several modified active disturbance rejection control(ADRC) methods, including delayed designed ADRC(DD-ADRC), polynomial based predictive ADRC(PP-ADRC), Smith predictor based ADRC(SP-ADRC) and predictor observer based ADRC(PO-ADRC), have been proposed in the past years. This paper is aimed at rigorously investigating the performance of these modified ADRCs, such that the improvements of each method can be demonstrated.The capability to tackle time delay, the necessity of stable open loop and the performance of rejecting uncertainties for these methods are fully studied and compared. It is proven that large time delay cannot be tolerated for the stability of the closed-loop systems based on DD-ADRC and PP-ADRC. Moreover, stable open loop is shown to be necessary for stabilizing the closed-loop systems based on SP-ADRC. Furthermore,the performance of rejecting the 'total disturbance' at low frequency for these modified ADRCs is evaluated and quantitatively discussed. 2Spatial distribution prediction and benefits assessment of green manure in the Pinggu District,Beijing,based on the CLUE-S model显示文摘Green manure use in China has declined rapidly since the 1980 s with the extensive use of chemical fertilizers.The deterioration of field environments and the demand for green agricultural products have resulted in more attention to green manure.Human intervention and policy-oriented behaviors likely have large impacts on promoting green manure planting.However,little information is available regarding on where,at what rates,and in which ways(i.e.,intercropping green manure in orchards or rotating green manure in cropland) to develop green manure and what benefits could be gained by incorporating green manure in fields at the county scale.This paper presents the conversion of land use and its effects at small region extent(CLUE-S) model,which is specifically developed for the simulation of land use changes originally,to predict spatial distribution of green manure in cropland and orchards in 2020 in Pinggu District located in Beijing,China.Four types of land use for planting or not planting green manure were classified and the future land use dynamics(mainly croplands and orchards) were considered in the prediction.Two scenarios were used to predict the spatial distribution of green manure based on data from 2011:The promotion of green manure planting in orchards(scenario 1) and the promotion of simultaneous green manure planting in orchards and croplands(scenario 2).The predictions were generally accurate based on the receiver operating characteristic(ROC) and Kappa indices,which validated the effectiveness of the CLUE-S model in the prediction.In addition,the spatial distribution of the green manure was acquired,which indicated that green manure mainly located in the orchards of the middle and southern regions of Dahuashan,the western and southern regions of Wangxinzhuang,the middle region of Shandongzhuang,the eastern region of Pinggu and the middle region of Xiagezhuang under scenario 1.Green manure planting under scenario 2 occurred in orchards in the middle region of Wangxinzhuang,and croplands in most regions of Daxingzhuang,southern Pinggu,northern Xiagezhuang and most of Mafang.The spatially explicit results allowed for the assessment of the benefits of these changes based on different economic and ecological indicators.The economic and ecological gains of scenarios 1 and 2 were 175691 900 and143000 300 CNY,respectively,which indicated that the first scenario was more beneficial for promoting the same area of green manure.These results can facilitate policies of promoting green manure and guide the extensive use of green manure in local agricultural production in suitable ways.ZHANG Li-ping ZHANG Shi-wen ZHOU Zhi-ming HOU Sen HUANG Yuan-fang CAO Wei-dong 2016Journal of Integrative Agriculture2016,15,2:13
3Th22 cell accumulation is associated with colorectal cancer development显示文摘AIM: To investigate the expression of Th22 cells and related cytokines in colorectal cancer(CRC) tissues, and the probably mechanism.METHODS: CRC tumor and paratumor tissues were collected to detect the expression levels of Th22 cells and of related cytokines by immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-q PCR).Interleukin(IL)-22 alone or with a STAT3 inhibitor was co-cultured with RKO cells in vitro to study the effects of IL-22 on colon cancer cells.IL-22 alone or with a STAT3 inhibitor was injected into a BALB/c nude mouse model with subcutaneously transplanted RKO cells to study the effects of IL-22 on colon cancer growth.RESULTS: The percentage of Th22 cells in the CD4+ T subset was significantly higher in tumor tissues compared with that in paratumor tissues(1.47% ± 0.083% vs 1.23% ± 0.077%, P < 0.05) as determined by flow cytometry.RT-qP CR analysis revealed that the m RNA expression levels of IL-22, aryl hydrocarbon receptor, CCL20 and CCL22 were significantly higher in tumor tissues compared with those in paratumor tissues.CCL27 mR NA also displayed a higher expression level in tumor tissues compared with that in paratumor tissues; however, these levels were not significantly different(2.58 ± 0.93 vs 2.30 ± 0.78, P > 0.05).IL-22 enhanced colon cancer cell proliferation in vitro and displayed anti-apoptotic effects; these effects were blocked by adding a STAT3 inhibitor.IL-22 promoted tumor growth in BALB/c nude mice; however, this effect was reversed by adding a STAT3 inhibitor.CONCLUSION: Th22 cells that accumulate in CRC may be associated with the chemotactic effect of the tumor microenvironment.IL-22 is associated with CRC development, most likely via STAT3 activation.Yong-Hong Huang Yun-Fei Cao Zhi-Yuan Jiang Sen Zhang Feng Gao 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,14:12
4Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. 5Effects of insoluble dietary fiber from wheat bran on noodle quality显示文摘Benefiting from its favorable effects in promoting intestinal peristalsis,increasing satiety and reducing postprandial blood sugar,wheat bran insoluble dietary fiber(IDF)could be added to noodles to improve the nutrition value of noodle products.However,the addition of IDF usually results in an adverse effect on the quality characteristics of fiber fortified products,leading to unfavorable texture and consumption drop.It was found that IDF could weaken dough characteristics,thereby causing the quality deterioration of noodles,but the mechanism is unclear as yet.This study aimed to investigate the effects of different amounts of IDF on the texture quality and cooking quality of noodles.The water distribution,rheological properties,pasting properties and cooking properties of the noodles were determined by low-field nuclear magnetic resonance(LF-NMR),dynamic rheometer,and rapid visco-analyzer.The results of the LF-NMR showed that the increased IDF in the noodles resulted in a contraction of relaxation time and an increase in the proportion of loosely bound water.At a high amount of IDF,the water absorption and tensile distance of the noodles significantly decreased and the cooking loss rate increased,with a downward trend in peak viscosity,final viscosity and setback values.Moreover,IDF could improve the storage modulus and loss modulus of sheeted dough and enhance the texture of noodles.Furthermore,the correlations between IDF addition amounts and rheological properties as well as cooking properties were analyzed,and the results confirmed that noodles with the IDF amount of 2%–4%had higher nutrition and quality.This study provides the basis for future development and improvement of IDF-enriched health foods.Mengxu Lei Jihong Huang Xiaoling Tian Peng Zhou Qi Zhu Limin Li Li Li Sen Ma Xiaoxi Wang 2021Grain & Oil Science and Technology2021,4,1:8

7Impulse feature extraction method for machinery fault detection using fusion sparse coding and online dictionary learning显示文摘Impulse components in vibration signals are important fault features of complex machines. Sparse coding(SC) algorithm has been introduced as an impulse feature extraction method, but it could not guarantee a satisfactory performance in processing vibration signals with heavy background noises. In this paper, a method based on fusion sparse coding(FSC) and online dictionary learning is proposed to extract impulses efficiently. Firstly, fusion scheme of different sparse coding algorithms is presented to ensure higher reconstruction accuracy. Then, an improved online dictionary learning method using FSC scheme is established to obtain redundant dictionary and it can capture specific features of training samples and reconstruct the sparse approximation of vibration signals. Simulation shows that this method has a good performance in solving sparse coefficients and training redundant dictionary compared with other methods. Lastly, the proposed method is further applied to processing aircraft engine rotor vibration signals. 8Preparation of nano-sized cerium and titanium pyrophosphates via solid-state reaction at room temperature显示文摘Nano-sized cerium-titanium pyrophosphates Ce1-xTixP2O7 (with x = 0, 0.2, 0.5, 0.7, 0.9, and 1.0) were obtained by grinding a mixture of Ce(SO4)2·4H2O, Ti(SO4)2, and Na4P2O7·10H2O in the presence of surfactant PEG-400 at room temperature, washing the mixture with water to remove soluble inorganic salts, and drying at 100°C. The products and their calcined samples were characterized using ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-vis), thermogravimetry and differential thermal analyses (TG/DTA), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show that nano-sized Ce1-xTixP2O7 behave as an excellent UV-shielding material. Thereinto, the CeP2O7 has the most excellent UV-shielding effect, and the amorphous state of Ce0.8Ti0.2P2O7 can keep at a higher temperature than CeP2O7. Therefore, the stabilization of the amorphous state of the cerium pyrophosphates was carried out by doping titanium. 9Simultaneous determination of brominated phenols in soils显示文摘Brominated phenols(BPs),a widely used group of emerging flame retardants,are important environmental contaminants and exhibit endocrine disrupting potential.Method for simultaneous determination of tetrabromobisphenol A(TBBPA),tribromophenol(TBP),dibromophenols(DBPs)and monobromophenols(MBPs)in soils using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis(GC/MS)was successfully developed.Cleanup methods for soil extracts including several solid-phase extraction cartridges and diferent elution solvents were compared and optimized.Florisil cartridge with dichloromethane as the elution reagent was selected for sample cleanup owing to its high and reproducible recoveries of the target analytes in soils.Derivatization conditions were tested and the optimal conditions were obtained with 20μL silylation reagent at room temperature.The chromatographic separation was optimized with diferent columns and DB-XLB column was selected for its excellent separation of the analytes.The limits of detection for the target compounds were from 0.04 to 0.19 ng/g.Mean recoveries of the compounds from spiked soils exceeded 84%with a good reproducibility,excepting that the recovery of 2-bromophenol was relatively poor(lower than 55%)due to its instability.The developed method was applied to the determination of the BPs in the soils collected from e-waste sites.The contents of BPs in the soils were at ng/g levels with TBBPA and TBP the most frequently detected.To our knowledge,this is the first report for the simultaneous determination of TBBPA,TBP,DBPs and MBPs in soils.Wei Han Sen Wang Honglin Huang Lei Luo Shuzhen Zhang 2013Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,11:5
10Maintaining the balance of TDP-43,mitochondria,and autophagy:a promising therapeutic strategy for neurodegenerative diseases显示文摘Mitochondria are the energy center of cell operations and are involved in physiological functions and maintenance of metabolic balance and homeostasis in the body.Alterations of mitochondrial function are associated with a variety of degenerative and acute diseases.As mitochondria age in cells,they gradually become inefficient and potentially toxic Acute injury can trigger the permeability of mitochondrial membranes,which can lead to apoptosis or necrosis.Transactive response DNA-binding protein 43 kDa(TDP-43)is a protein widely present in cells.It can bind to RNA,regulate a variety of RNA processes,and play a role in the formation of multi-protein/RNA complexes.Thus,the normal physiological functions of TDP-43 are particularly important for cell survival.Normal TDP-43 is located in various subcellular structures including mitochondria,mitochondrial-associated membrane,RNA particles and stress granules to regulate the endoplasmic reticulum-mitochondrial binding,mitochondrial protein translation,and mRNA transport and translation.Importantly,TDP-43 is associated with a variety of neurodegenerative diseases,including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,frontotemporal dementia and Alzheimer's disease,which are characterized by abnormal phosphorylation,ubiquitination,lysis or nuclear depletion of TDP-43 in neurons and glial cells.Although the pathogenesis of TDP-43 proteinopathy remains unknown,the presence of pathological TDP-43 inside or outside of mitochondria and the functional involvement of TDP-43 in the regulation of mitochondrial morphology,transport,and function suggest that mitochondria are associated with TDP-43-related diseases.Autophagy is a basic physiological process that maintains the homeostasis of cells,including targeted clearance of abnormally aggregated proteins and damaged organelles in the cytoplasm;therefore,it is considered protective against neurodegenerative diseases.However,the combination of abnormal TDP-43 aggregation,mitochondrial dysfunction,and insufficient autophagy can lead to a variety of aging-related pathologies.In this review,we describe the current knowledge on the associations of mitochondria with TDP-43 and the role of autophagy in the clearance of abnormally aggregated TDP-43 and dysfunctional mitochondria.Finally,we discuss a novel approach for neurodegenerative treatment based on the knowledge.Chunhui Huang Sen Yan Zaijun Zhang 2020Translational Neurodegeneration2020,9,4:5

12Effects of land use change on the spatiotemporal variability of soil organic carbon in an urban-rural ecotone of Beijing,China显示文摘Understanding the effects of land use changes on the spatiotemporal variation of soil organic carbon(SOC)can provide guidance for low carbon and sustainable agriculture.In this paper,based on the large-scale datasets of soil surveys in 1982 and 2009 for Pinggu District—an urban-rural ecotone of Beijing,China,the effects of land use and land use changes on both temporal variation and spatial variation of SOC were analyzed.Results showed that from 1982 to 2009in Pinggu District,the following land use change mainly occurred:Grain cropland converted to orchard or vegetable land,and grassland converted to forestland.The SOC content decreased in region where the land use type changed to grain cropland(e.g.,vegetable land to grain cropland decreased by 0.7 g kg^(-1);orchard to grain cropland decreased by 0.2 g kg^(-1)).In contrast,the SOC content increased in region where the land use type changed to either orchard(excluding forestland)or forestland(e.g.,grain cropland to orchard and forestland increased by 2.7 and 2.4 g kg^(-1),respectively;grassland to orchard and forestland increased by 4.8 and 4.9 g kg^(-1),respectively).The organic carbon accumulation capacity per unit mass of the soil increased in the following order:grain cropland soikvegetable land/grassland soikorchard soikforestland soil.Therefore,to both secure supply of agricultural products and develop low carbon agriculture in a modern city,orchard has proven to be a good choice for land using.YE Hui-chun HUANG Yuan-fang CHEN Peng-fei HUANG Wen-jiang ZHANG Shi-wen HUANGShan-yu HOU Sen 2016Journal of Integrative Agriculture2016,15,4:4
13Effects of IBA on the rooting of branch cuttings of Chinese jujube (Zizyphus jujuba Mill.) and changes to nutrients and endogenous hormones显示文摘‘Zhongqiusucui’ jujube secondary shoots were treated with 3-indolebutyric acid(IBA) at three concentrations, 500, 1000 and 1500 mg/L. Results show that IBA could significantly enhance rooting and root characteristics of cuttings and were best with IBA at 1500 mg/L. In the rooting process, the formation of adventitious roots was related to the consumption and accumulation of nutrients(soluble sugars and proteins) and the changes in endogenous hormones in phloem, leaf tips and leaf bases. The rooting of cuttings had a positive correlation with the consumption of soluble sugars during the period of callus formation and with the accumulation of soluble sugars during adventitious root formation and growth. Rooting was positively related to the breakdown of soluble proteins in the phloem when the callus formed, and had a positive correlation with its accumulation during adventitious root formation and growth. Leaf tips and leaf bases showed a reverse trend in changes of soluble protein. However, together with the phloem, leaf tips and leaf bases regulated and controlled the formation and development of adventitious roots. The main activities of soluble proteins exist in the leaf tips as this was the main source of soluble proteins. The relation between rooting and IAA(indole-3-acetic acid) content in phloem was positive and thus a high concentration of IAA could benefit the induction and formation of adventitious roots. However, rooting was negatively related with ABA(abscisic acid) and GA(gibberellic acid) and a high concentration of both could inhibit the induction and formation of adventitious roots. Rooting had a positive correlation with phloem IAA/ABA ratios, and higher ratios could improve rooting. Low concentrations of ZR(zeatin riboside) triggered the induction of adventitious roots, while higher concentrations promoted root growth.Endogenous hormones in leaf tips and bases had an impact on rooting. The activities of endogenous hormones mainly existed in leaf tips because they play a major role in the production and consumption of IAA and its ABA content increased during rooting. The ZR in leaf tips influenced the rooting of cuttings, especially in the callus formation and rooting stage. 16Low-cost and high-strength Mg-Al-Ca-Zn-Mn wrought alloy with balanced ductility显示文摘A novel low-cost Mg-Al-Ca-Zn-Mn-based alloy was developed to simultaneously improve its strength and ductility.The high yield strength of 411 MPa and the high elongation to failure of~8.9%have been achieved in the as-extruded Mg-1.3Al-1.2Ca-0.5Zn-0.6Mn(wt%)sample.Microstructure characterizations showed that the high strength is mainly associated with the ultra-fined dynamically recrystallized(DRXed)grains.Moreover,high-density dislocations in the un-DRXed region and nano-precipitates are distributed among theα-Mg matrix.The high ductility property can be ascribed to the high volume fraction of DRXed grains with a much randomized texture,as well as the formations of high-density subgrains in the un-DRXed grain regions.Kun Yang Hucheng Pan Sen Du Man Li Jingren Li Hongbo Xie Qiuyan Huang Huajun Mo Gaowu Qin 2022International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,7:3
17Effects of heat treatment on the corrosion resistance of carbon steel coated with LaMgAl_(11)O_(19) thermal barrier coatings显示文摘LaMgAl_(11)O_(19) thermal barrier coatings(TBCs) were applied to carbon steels with a NiCoCrAlY bond coat by plasma spraying. The effects of heat treatment on the corrosion resistance of carbon steel coated with LaMgAl_(11)O_(19) TBCs were investigated in 3.5wt% Na Cl solution using polarization curves, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), and X-ray diffraction(XRD). The results show that a large number of cracks are found in the LaMgAl_(11)O_(19) TBCs after the samples are heat-treated, including some through-thickness cracks. The corrosion forms of the as-sprayed and heat-treated TBCs are uniform corrosion and pitting corrosion, respectively. The as-sprayed TBCs exhibit three EIS time constants after being immersed for less than 7 d, and then a new time constant appears because of steel substrate corrosion. When the immersion time is increased to 56 d, a Warburg impedance(W) component appears in the EIS data. The EIS data for the heat-treated TBCs exhibit only two time constants after the samples are immersed for less than 14 d, and a new time constant appears when the immersion time is increased further. The heat treatment reduces the corrosion resistance of carbon steel coated with LaMgAl_(11)O_(19) TBCs. 18The scoring system for patients with severe sepsis after orthotopic liver transplantation显示文摘BACKGROUND: Because of the complicated pathological features after liver transplantation, severe sepsis is difficult to treat and often leads to death. This study was undertaken to analyze the role of orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) in patients with severe sepsis and to evaluate the effect of the scoring system. METHODS: Fifty-six patients conformed to the inclusion criteria. They were divided into two groups: non-OLT group (group A) and OLT group (group B). Besides the general data of the patients, the surveillance of blood lactate, the number of failed organs, acute physiology and chronic health evaluationⅡ(APACHEⅡ) and mutiple organ dysfunction score (MODS) were evaluated at the 1st, 3rd and 7th day after OLT. RESULTS: The mortality during hospitalization was 30% in the non-OLT group and 57.6% in the other group. The level of blood lactate at the 1st day of OLT increased more significantly in the OLT group than in the non-OLT group (P<0.01). It was decreased but higher than that in the non-OLT group in the seven days after OLT. The number of failed organs in the OLT group was greater than that in the non-OLT group (P<0.01). The continuous score of APACHEⅡwas not significantly different in the two groups. But the continuous MODS in the OLT group was higher than that in the non-OLT group (P<0.01), which was consistent with the number of failed organs. CONCLUSIONS: The persistently higher level of blood lactate during 7 days may be a dependent risk factor. Immunosuppression may be another risk factor for OLT patients. The mortality of OLT in patients with severe sepsis in 28 days is almost double that in non-OLT patients. The MODS score is better than the APACHEⅡscore in the assessment of organ failure in OLT patients with severe sepsis. 19The causes and processes responsible for rocky desertification in karst areas of southern China显示文摘The karst region of southern China is a fragile ecological zone with widespread rocky desertification. This paper describes the rocky desertification occurring in this region in terms of both natural and anthropogenic factors. During geological time periods, the region's changing environment governed the natural rocky desertification processes, whereas during historical and modern times, anthropogenic processes have been superimposed on these natural processes. Human activities have accelerated and exacerbated rocky desertification. The period from the beginning to the middle of the Qing dynasty was an important transitional period in which human activities began to exert a particularly strong influence on rocky desertification. Since then, the effect of anthropogenic factors has increasingly exceeded the effect of natural factors. The rocky desertification process in southern China's karst region combines surface ecological processes (including vegetation degradation and loss, soil erosion, surface water loss, and bedrock solution) with a reduction of the land's biological productivity, leading to degradation that produces rocky desert. 20NLRP3 Deficiency Attenuates Secondary Degeneration of Visual Cortical Neurons Following Optic Nerve Injury显示文摘In the visual pathway, optic nerve(ON) injury may cause secondary degeneration of neurons in distal regions, such as the visual cortex. However, the role of the neuroinflammatory response in regulating secondary impairment in the visual cortex after ON injury remains unclear. The NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 3(NLRP3) is an important regulator of neuroinflammation. In this study, we established a mouse model of unilateral ON crush(ONC) and showed that the expression of NLRP3 was significantly increased in the primary visual cortex(V1) as a response to ONC and that the NLRP3 inflammasome was activated in the contralateral V1 1 days–14 days after ONC. Ablation of the NLRP3 gene significantly decreased the trans-neuronal degeneration within 14 days. Visual electrophysiological function was improved in NLRP3-/- mice.
