Stability of Ultra-fine Microstructures during Tempering显示文摘The stability of ultra-fine microstructure during tempering at 650℃ was investigated on a Nb-containing steel. The steel had undergone 5 passes controlled rolling, then was relaxed (air cooled) to 730 ℃ and cooled in water The evolution of microstructure was that, in early stage of tempering, no obvious change was detected by means of optical microscopy while dislocation cells were formed inside bainitic laths. With further tempering, bainitic laths started to coalesce in some regions. Finally, polygonal ferrite was formed while hardness decreased dramatically. Some samples taken from the same primary plate were reheated at 930 ℃for 0.5 h followed by quenching into water before tempering. Despite their lower original hardness, the reheated samples softened faster during tempering. Ferrite was quickly formed in the reheated samples. These results indicate that the evolution of microstructures towards equilibrium during tempering of the steel is mainly determined by whether dislocations are pinned rather than the dislocation density.Shanwu Yang, Chengjia Shang,Xinlai He, Xuemin Wang, Yi Yuan (Material Science and Engineering School, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China) 2001Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2001,8,2:25
Relaxation of Deformed Austenite and Refinement of Bainite in a Nb-Containing Microalloyed Steel显示文摘By means of stress relaxation and strain-induced precipitation in deformed austenite, bainite with micron sheaves size was ob-tained in Nb-containing steel. Microstructures of deformed samples isothermally relaxed for various time followed by cooling in water were examined. Stress relaxation test and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were employed to detect precipitation of microalloy elements, such as Nb, Ti, during isothermal holding after deformation. All the samples were constituted by lath-like bainite along with acicular ferrite, but the size of bainitic sheaves and the amount of acicular ferrite were changed with relaxation time. To achieve optimum refinement, relaxation should be confined in the stage when the precipitates have sufficiently grown and started to coarsen. The sample having not undergone relaxation does not exhibit obvious refinement despite of its higher dislocation density. These results indicate that relaxation promotes bainite to refine, which is because deformed austenitic grains are divided by dislocation walls formed during rela-xation and acicular ferrite formed before bainitic transformation.Shanwu Yang, Xuemin Wang, Chengjia Shang, Xinlai He, Yi Yuan Material Science and Engineering School, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China 2001Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2001,8,3:24
Mass screening of prostate cancer in a Chinese population:the relationship between pathological features of prostate cancer and serum prostate specific antigen显示文摘Aim: To investigate the pathological features of the prostate biopsy through mass screening for prostate cancer in a Chinese cohort and their association with serum prostate specific antigen (PSA). Methods: A total of 12027 Chinese men in Changchun were screened for prostate cancer by means of the serum total prostate specific antigen (tPSA) test (by Elisa assay). Transrectal ultrasound-guided systematic six-sextant biopsies were performed on those whose serum tPSA value was >4.0ng/mL and those who had obstructive symptoms (despite their tPSA value) and were subject to subsequent pathological analysis with the aid of the statistic software SPSS 10.0 (SPSS. Inc., Chicago. USA). Results: Of the 12027 cases, 158 (including 137 patients whose serum tPSA values were >4.0ng/mL and 21 patients [serum tPSA<4.0ng/mL] who had obstructive symptoms) undertook prostate biopsy. Of the 158 biopsies, 41 cases of prostatic carcinoma were found (25.9 %, 41/158). The moderately differentiated carcinoma and poorly differentiated carcinoma accounted for 61% and 34 %, respectively. A significant linear positive correlation between the serum tPSA and the Gleason scores in the 41 cases of prostatic carcinoma (r=0.312, P<0.01) was established. A significant linear positive correlation between the serum tPSA value of the 41 prostatic carcinoma and the positive counts of carcinoma in sextant biopsies was established (r=0.406, P<0.01), indicating a significant linear relationship between serum tPSA and the size of tumor. Conclusion: This study was the first to conduct mass screening for prostate cancer by testing for serum tPSA values and the first to investigate the pathological features of prostate cancer in a cohort of Chinese men. Our results reveal that the moderately differentiated carcinoma is the most common type of prostate cancer. This study also has shown that the serum tPSA value in prostate cancer is associated with the Gleason score and the size of tumor.Hong-WenGao Yu-LinLi ShanWu Yi-ShuWang Hai-FengZhang Yu-ZhuoPan LingZhang HirooTateno IkuroSato MasaakiKuwahara Xue-JianZhao 2005Asian Journal of Andrology2005,7,2:20
A Special TMCP Used to Develop a 800MPa Grade HSLA Steel显示文摘The effect of relaxation after finished rolling on structures and properties of four microalloyed steel with different content of Nb and Ti was investigated. By alloy designing and control rolling + relaxation-precipitation-control phase transformation (RPC) process, a new 800 MPa grade HSLA plate steel could be obtained, the microstructure is composite ultra- fine lath bainite/martensite. The tempering process and mechanical properties of this kind of HSLA steel were investigated. The yield strength can achieve 800 MPa, and the ductility and impact toughness is satisfied.Chengjia Shang,Xuemin Wang, Xinlai He, Shanwu Yang, Yi Yuan Material Science and Engineering School, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing, 100083, China 2001Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2001,8,3:20
Refinement of packet size in low carbon bainitic steel by special thermo-mechanical control process显示文摘The packet size of bainitic steel can be refined by a special relaxation-precipitation-control phase transformation (RPC)technology. When processed by RPC process, the low carbon bainitic steel composes of two kinds of main intermediate transformation phases. One is ultra-fine lath-like bainitic ferrite and the lath is less than 1 μm in width and about 6 μm in length; the alignment of laths forms a refined packet, and the size of packets is about 5-7 μm in length and about 3-4 μm in width. The other is acicular structure. The morphology and distribution of these acicular structures are influenced by relaxation process, the thin and short acicular structures cut the prior austenite grain and refine the bainitic packet size. For the optimum relaxation time, the packet size can be refined to the finest. The mechanical properties are influenced by relaxation time and the 800 Mpa grade low carbon bainitic steel with excellent toughness can be obtained by RPC process.Chengjia Shang Xuemin Wang Shanwu Yang Xinlai He Materials Science and Engineering School, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China 2004Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2004,11,3:15
Change in dislocation configuration of deformed Fe-Ni-Nb-Ti-C-B alloy during stress relaxation显示文摘Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) was applied to investigate the evolution of dislocation configuration and straininduced precipitation behavior during relaxation process after deformation in Fe-Ni-Nb-Ti-C-B alloy. Experimental results indicatethai the dislocation density is very high and distribute randomly before relaxation. As the relaxation time increasing, dislocation cellswill form gradually by polygonization. The strain induced precipitation retards the progress. In the final relaxation stage, most dislo-cations get rid of pinning of precipitates and the cells have developed into subgrains with large size.Shaoqiang Yuan, Shanwu Yang, Wenjin Nie, and Xinlai He Department of Materials Physics, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China Tangshan College, Tangshan 063000, China 2003Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2003,10,3:9
Dissolving of Nb and Ti carbonitride precipitates in microalloyed steels显示文摘The dissolving behaviour of Nb and Ti carbonitride precipitates in microalloyed steels during isothermal holding at 1300℃ was investigated by Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy dispersion x-ray spectrum (EDX). It was found that all precipitates in Nb-Ti microalloyed steel are (Nb, Ti)(C,N). With holding time increasing, the atomic ratio of Nb/Ti in precipitates decrease gradually. These precipitates still existe even after holding for 48 h at 1300℃ while Nb(C,N) precipitates dissolve away in Nb microalloyed steel only after 4 h at the same temperature. These results show that formation and thermostability of precipitates are considerably influenced by interaction between Nb and Ti.Wenjin Nie, Shanwu Yang, Shaoqiang Yuan, and Xinlai HeMaterials Science and Engineering School, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China 2003Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2003,10,5:8
Formation and evolution of layered structure in dissimilar welded joints between ferritic-martensitic steel and 316L stainless steel with fillers显示文摘Dissimilar high-energy beam(HEB)welding is necessary in many industrial applications.Different composition of heat-affected zone(HAZ)and weld metal(WM)lead to variation in mechanical properties within the dissimilar joint, which determines the performance of the welded structure. In the present study, appropriate filler material was used during electron beam welding(EBW)to obtain a reliable dissimilar joint between reduced-activation ferritic-martensitic(RAFM)steel and 316L austenitic stainless steel. It was observed that the layered structure occurred in the weld metal with 310S filler(310S-WM),which had the inferior resistance to thermal disturbance, leading to severe hardening of 310S-WM after one-step tempering treatment. To further ameliorate the joint inhomogeneity,two-step heat treatment processes were imposed to the joints and optimized.δ-ferrite in the layered structure transformed intoγ-phase in the first-step normalizing and remained stable during cooling. In the second-step of tempering, tempered martensite was obtained in the HAZ of the RAFM steel, while the microstructure of 310S-WM was not affected. Thus, the optimized properties for HAZ and 310S-WM in dissimilar welded joint was both obtained by a two-step heat treatment. The creep failure position of two dissimilar joints both occurred in CLAM-BM.Guoliang Liu Shanwu Yang Jianwen Ding Wentuo Han Lujun Zhou Mengqi Zhang Shanshan Zhou RDKMisra Farong Wan Chengjia Shang 2019Journal of Materials Science & Technology2019,35,11:4
A parameterization scheme of vertical mixing due to inertial internal wave breaking in the ocean general circulation model显示文摘Based on the theoretical spectral model of inertial internal wave breaking(fine structure) proposed previously, in which the effects of the horizontal Coriolis frequency component f-tilde on a potential isopycnal are taken into account, a parameterization scheme of vertical mixing in the stably stratified interior below the surface mixed layer in the ocean general circulation model(OGCM) is put forward preliminarily in this paper. Besides turbulence, the impact of sub-mesoscale oceanic processes(including inertial internal wave breaking product) on oceanic interior mixing is emphasized. We suggest that adding the inertial internal wave breaking mixing scheme(F-scheme for short) put forward in this paper to the turbulence mixing scheme of Canuto et al.( T-scheme for short) in the OGCM, except the region from 15°S to 15°N. The numerical results of F-scheme by using WOA09 data and an OGCM(LICOM, LASG/IAP climate system ocean model) over the global ocean are given. A notable improvement in the simulation of salinity and temperature over the global ocean is attained by using T-scheme adding F-scheme, especially in the mid- and high-latitude regions in the simulation of the intermediate water and deep water. We conjecture that the inertial internal wave breaking mixing and inertial forcing of wind might be one of important mechanisms maintaining the ventilation process. The modeling strength of the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation(AMOC) by using T-scheme adding F-scheme may be more reasonable than that by using T-scheme alone, though the physical processes need to be further studied, and the overflow parameterization needs to be incorporated. A shortcoming in F-scheme is that in this paper the error of simulated salinity and temperature by using T-scheme adding F-scheme is larger than that by using T-scheme alone in the subsurface layer.FAN Zhisong SHANG Zhenqi ZHANG Shanwu HU Ruijin LIU Hailong 2015Acta Oceanologica Sinica2015,34,1:4
Modeling of finite-size droplets and particles in multiphase flows显示文摘The conventional point-particle approach for treating the dispersed phase in a continuous flowfield is extended by taking into account the effect of finite particle size, using a Gaussian interpolation from Lagrangian points to the Eulerian field. The inter-phase exchange terms in the conservation equations are distributed over the volume encompassing the particle size, as opposed to the Dirac delta function generally used in the point-particle approach. The proposed approach is benchmarked against three different flow configurations in a numerical framework based on large eddy simulation(LES) turbulence closure.First, the flow over a circular cylinder is simulated for a Reynolds number of 3900 at 1 atm pressure. Results show good agreement with experimental data for the mean streamwise velocity and the vortex shedding frequency in the wake region. The calculated flowfield exhibits correct physics, which the conventional point-particle approach fails to capture. The second case deals with diesel jet injection in quiescent environment over a pressure range of 1.1–5.0 MPa.The calculated jet penetration depth closely matches measurements. It decreases with increasing chamber pressure, due to enhanced drag force in a denser fluid environment. Finally, water and acetone jet injection normal to air crossflow is studied at1 atm.The calculated jet penetration and Sauter mean diameter of liquid droplets compare very well with measurements.Prashant Khare Shanwu Wang Vigor Yang 2015Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2015,28,4:3

Redistribution of Boron during Ferrite Reaction in Nb-B Microalloyed Steel显示文摘By contrast of microstructure and boron distribution in the same area of samples, the behavior of boronduring ferrite reaction in Nb-B microalloyed steel was studied. Boron atoms have segregated to original austeniteboundaries betfore ferrite reaction starts during isothermal treatment. The concentration of boron in small Pieces offerrite foming along austenite boundaries may be remarkably higher than that in austenite matrix, but it will reducegradually when the ferrite continuously grows. There is no obvious boron segregation on interface of γ/α and α/α.These facts indicate that ferrite growth is not controlled by diffusion of boron in austenite.Shanwu Yang Xinlai He(Applied Science School, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China) 1998International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials1998,12,4:1

Observation of continental shelf wave propagating along the eastern Taiwan Strait during Typhoon Meranti 2016显示文摘This study is the fi rst to depict typhoon-induced continental shelf wave(CSW)propagation in the eastern Taiwan Strait(TWS)during the passage of Typhoon Meranti in 2016 using tidal gauge data and along-track satellite altimeter data. The strong amplitude response of sea level oscillations(within the range of 0.30–0.54 m)as a free, barotropic CSW after Meranti, which impacted the TWS,was clearly detected in time and frequency(in bands of 64–81 h)using wavelet and cross-wavelet analyses. The measured group and phase speeds were consistent with the dispersion curves for CSW with the fi rst-mode derived from the cross-shelf sections of the eastern TWS,with the mean speeds reaching 3 and 5.6±0.7 m/s,respectively.Coincidentally,the typhoon-induced sea level anomaly(SLA)was also captured by the satellite altimeter before this CSW entered into the TWS.Using the theoretical cross-shore CSW modes to fi t the SLA data, the results indicated that the fi rst three wave modes can interpret this CSW event appeared in the southern TWS very well, with the fi rst mode being the dominant one.Junqiang SHEN Shanwu ZHANG Junpeng ZHANG Mingzhang ZENG Wendong FANG 2021Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,1:1

Characterization of Compactness of Rust Layers on Weathering Steels by an Adsorption/Dehydration Test of Ethanol显示文摘A new method for evaluating the compactness of rust layers on steels has been proposed in the present study. The method includes adsorption and dehydration process of anhydrous ethanol. The protective ability of rust layers can be qualitatively reflected by the adsorption/dehydration rates. The specific surface area and porosity of rust layers can be calculated by a quantitative model. The results from the present method are consistent with electrochemical tests, N2 adsorption and X-ray diffraction analysis. The method characterizes the compactness of rust layers rather than that of corrosion products removed from the metal surfaces, which is generally practiced in classic N2 adsorption method. Furthermore, the method can reflect the compactness of inner rust layers, to which N2 adsorption is unavailable. The method provides a new approach for the study of rust layers.Lujun Zhou Shanwu Yang Yi Dong Wenhua Zhang Jianwen Ding Guoliang Liu Chengjia Shang Raja Devesh Kumar Misra 2020Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2020,33,6:1
