| 1 | Large-scale synthesis of N-doped carbon capsules supporting atomically dispersed iron for efficient oxygen reduction reaction electrocatalysis显示文摘The large-scale synthesis of platinum-free electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)remains a grand challenge.We report the large-scale production of stable and active ORR electrocatalysts based on iron,an earth-abundant element.A core–shell zeolitic imidazolate framework–tannic acid coordination polymer composite(ZIF-8@K-TA)was utilized as the catalyst precursor,which was transformed into iron atoms dispersed in hollow porous nitrogen-doped carbon capsules(H-Fe-N_(x)-C)through ion exchange and pyrolysis.H-Fe-N_(x)-C fea-tures site-isolated single-atom iron centers coordinated to nitrogen in graphitic layers,high levels of nitrogen doping,and high permeability to incoming gases.Benefiting from these characteristics,H-Fe-N_(x)-C demonstrated efficient electrocatalytic activity(E_(1/2)=0.92 V,vs.RHE)and stability towards the ORR in both alkaline and acidic media.In ORR performance,it surpassed the majority of recently reported Fe-N-C catalysts and the standard Pt/C catalyst.In addition,H-Fe-N_(x)-C showed outstanding tolerance to methanol. | Hui Yang Yanfang Liu Xiaolu Liu Xiangke Wang He Tian Geoffrey I.N.Waterhouse Paul E.Krugere Shane GTelfer Shengqian Ma | 2022 | eScience2022,2,2: | 4 |

| 4 | De novo synthesis of bifunctional conjugated microporous polymers for synergistic coordination mediated uranium entrapment显示文摘This work reports a de novo synthesis of novel bifunctional conjugated microporous polymers(CMPs)exhibiting a synergistic-effect involved coordination behavior to uranium.It is highlighted that the synthetic strategy enables the engineering of the coordination environment within amidoxime functionalized CMP frameworks by specifically introducing ortho-substituted amino functionalities,enhancing the affinity to uranyl ions via forming synergistic complexes.The CMPs exhibit high Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)surface area,well-developed three-dimensional(3D)networks with hierarchical porosity,and favorable chemical and thermal stability because of the covalently cross-linked structure.Compared with the amino-free counterparts,the adsorption capacity of bifunctional CMPs was increased by almost 70%,from 105 to 174 mg/g,indicating evidently enhanced binding ability to uranium.Moreover,new insights into coordination mechanism were obtained by in-depth X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)analysis and density functional theory(DFT)calculation,suggesting a dominant role of the oxime ligands forming a 1:1 metal ions/ligands(M/L)coordination model with uranyl ions while demonstrating the synergistic engagement of the amino functionalities via direct binding to uranium center and hydrogen-bonding involved secondary-sphere interaction.This work sheds light on the underlying principles of ortho-substituted functionalities directed synergistic effect to promote the coordination of amidoxime with uranyl ions.And the synthetic strategy established here would enable the task-specific development of more novel CMP-based functional materials for broadened applications. | Boxuan Yu Lei Zhang Gang Ye Qingzhi Liu Jiongli Li Xudong Wang Jing Chen Shengming Xu Shengqian Ma | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,3: | 2 |

| 6 | Core-satellite metal-organic framework@upconversion nanoparticle superstructures via electrostatic self-assembly for efficient photodynamic theranostics显示文摘The nanoplatforms based on upconversion nanoparticles(UCNPs)have shown great promise in amplified photodynamic therapy(PDT)triggered by near-infrared(NIR)light.However,their practical in vivo applications are hindered by the overheating effect of 980 nm excitation and low utilization of upconversion luminescence(UCL)by photosensitizers.To solve these defects,core-satellite metal-organic framework@UCNP superstructures,composed of a single metal-organic framework(MOF)NP as the core and Nd3+-sensitized UCNPs as the satellites,are designed and synthesized via a facile electrostatic self-assembly strategy.The superstructures realize a high co-loading capacity of chlorin e6(Ce6)and rose bengal(RB)benefitted from the highly porous nature of MOF NPs,showing a strong spectral overlap between maximum absorption of photosensitizers and emission of UCNPs.The in vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrate that the dual-photosensitizer superstructures have trimodal(magnetic resonance(MR)/UCL/fluorescence(FL))imaging functions and excellent antitumor effectiveness of PDT at 808 nm NIR light excitation,avoiding the laser irradiation-induced overheating issue.This study provides new insights for the development of highly efficient PDT nanodrugs toward precision theranostics. | Zhike Li Xi Qiao Guihua He Xin Sun Danhua Feng Liefeng Hu Hua Xu Hai-Bing Xu Shengqian Ma Jian Tian | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,12: | 2 |

| 18 | Converging Cooperative Functions into the Nanospace of Covalent Organic Frameworks for Efficient Uranium Extraction from Seawater显示文摘The extraction of uranium from seawater is challenging though it offers tremendous potential for the sustainable production of nuclear fuel for the energy sector.Herein,we report a new strategy for efficient extraction of uranium from seawater via converging the cooperative functions of adsorption-photocatalysis into the nanospace of covalent organic frameworks(COFs).Functionalization of the organic linkers in the multicomponent COFs allowed exploration of the relationship between material composition and adsorption-photocatalytic activity for uranium extraction.The presence of amidoxime groups in the COFs offered selective binding sites for uranyl,whilst triazine units and bipyridine-Pd groups acted cooperatively to photocatalytically reduce adsorbed U(Ⅵ)to a U(Ⅳ)solid product(UO2)for facile collection.One of our developed COFs,4-Pd-AO,displayed exceptional performance in sequestering and reducing uranyl from natural seawater,with a high extraction capacity of 4.62 mg U/g per day(average data)under visible light irradiation.Mechanistic studies revealed that 4-Pd-AO not only reduced adsorbed uranyl(Ⅵ)to U(Ⅳ)O_(2),but also generated ^(1)O_(2) and superoxide radicals under visible light excitation,thus affording excellent antibacterial and antialgal activities(i.e.,antibiofouling properties)for sustained efficient uranium extraction performance.This proof-ofconcept study establishes multicomponent COFs as promising candidates for efficient uranium extraction from seawater. | Mengjie Hao Zhongshan Chen Xiaolu Liu Xianhai Liu Juyao Zhang Hui Yang Geoffrey I.N.Waterhouse Xiangke Wang Shengqian Ma | 2022 | CCS Chemistry2022,4,7: | 1 |
