1Antihyperuricemic effect of mangiferin aglycon derivative J99745 by inhibiting xanthine oxidase activity and urate transporter 1 expression in mice显示文摘A mangiferin aglycon derivative J99745 has been identified as a potent xanthine oxidase(XOD) inhibitor by previous in vitro study. This study aimed to evaluate the hypouricemic effects of J99745 in experimental hyperuricemia mice, and explore the underlying mechanisms. Mice were orally administered 600 mg/kg xanthine once daily for 7 days and intraperitoneally injected 250 mg/kg oxonic acid on the 7 th day to induce hyperuricemia. Meanwhile, J99745(3, 10, and 30 mg/kg), allopurinol(20 mg/kg) or benzbromarone(20 mg/kg) were orally administered to mice for 7 days. On the 7 th day,uric acid and creatinine in serum and urine, blood urea nitrogen(BUN), malondialdehyde(MDA) content and XOD activities in serum and liver were determined. Morphological changes in kidney were observed using hematoxylin and eosin(H&E) staining. Hepatic XOD, renal urate transporter 1(URAT1), glucose transporter type 9(GLUT9), organic anion transporter 1(OAT1) and ATP-binding cassette transporter G2(ABCG2) were detected by Western blot and real time polymerase chain reaction(PCR). The results showed that J99745 at doses of 10 and 30 mg/kg significantly reduced serum urate, and enhanced fractional excretion of uric acid(FEUA). H&E staining confirmed that J99745 provided greater nephroprotective effects than allopurinol and benzbromarone. Moreover, serum and hepatic XOD activities and renal URAT1 expression declined in J99745-treated hyperuricemia mice. In consistence with the ability to inhibit XOD, J99745 lowered serum MDA content in hyperuricemia mice. 2Large-scale synthesis of N-doped carbon capsules supporting atomically dispersed iron for efficient oxygen reduction reaction electrocatalysis显示文摘The large-scale synthesis of platinum-free electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)remains a grand challenge.We report the large-scale production of stable and active ORR electrocatalysts based on iron,an earth-abundant element.A core–shell zeolitic imidazolate framework–tannic acid coordination polymer composite(ZIF-8@K-TA)was utilized as the catalyst precursor,which was transformed into iron atoms dispersed in hollow porous nitrogen-doped carbon capsules(H-Fe-N_(x)-C)through ion exchange and pyrolysis.H-Fe-N_(x)-C fea-tures site-isolated single-atom iron centers coordinated to nitrogen in graphitic layers,high levels of nitrogen doping,and high permeability to incoming gases.Benefiting from these characteristics,H-Fe-N_(x)-C demonstrated efficient electrocatalytic activity(E_(1/2)=0.92 V,vs.RHE)and stability towards the ORR in both alkaline and acidic media.In ORR performance,it surpassed the majority of recently reported Fe-N-C catalysts and the standard Pt/C catalyst.In addition,H-Fe-N_(x)-C showed outstanding tolerance to methanol.Hui Yang Yanfang Liu Xiaolu Liu Xiangke Wang He Tian Geoffrey I.N.Waterhouse Paul E.Krugere Shane GTelfer Shengqian Ma 2022eScience2022,2,2:4

4CrN-Encapsulated Hollow Cr-N-C Capsules Boosting Oxygen Reduction Catalysis in PEMFC显示文摘Understanding the origin of the catalytic activity for the development of efficient catalysts is critical yet challenging.Herein,we report a simple strategy for the synthesis of chromium nitride nanoparticles(CrNNPs)encapsulated into hollow chromium-nitrogen-carbon capsules(CrN@H-Cr-N_(x)-C).The CrN@H-Cr-N_(x)-C demonstrated excellent electrocatalytic activity for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)in acidic solutions.When applied as a cathode material in a proton-exchange membrane fuel cell(PEMFC),the CrN@H-Cr-N_(x)-C achieved outstanding initial performance,which is better than that of the PEMFC with H-Cr-N_(x)-C cathode material.The CrN@H-Cr-N_(x)-C cathode also showed good stability over 110 h of operation.These results demonstrated that the coexistence of atomically dispersed CrN_(x) sites and sufficient CrNNPs is essential for excellent PEMFC performances.Density functional theory(DFT)studies further corroborated that CrNNPs can boost the ORR activity of H-Cr-N_(x)-C.This finding opens a new avenue for the fabrication of low-cost,highly active,and durable ORR catalysts for PEMFC and other applications.Hui Yang Xu Wang Tao Zheng Nelly Cantillo Cuello Gabriel Goenaga Thomas A.Zawodzinski He Tian Joshua T.Wright Robert W.Meulenberg Xiangke Wang Zhenhai Xia Shengqian Ma 2021CCS Chemistry2021,3,5:2

7Discussion of the“warming and wetting”trend and its future variation in the drylands of Northwest China under global warming显示文摘Since Shi et al.proposed that the climate in the drylands of Northwest China experienced a significant transition from a“warming and drying”trend to a“warming and wetting”trend in the 1980s,researchers have conducted numerous studies on the variations in precipitation and humidity in the region and even in arid Central Asia.In particular,the process of the“warming and wetting”trend by using obtained measurement data received much attention.However,there remain uncertainties about whether the“warming and wetting”trend has paused and what its future variations may be.In this study,we examined the spatiotemporal variations in temperature,precipitation,the aridity index(AI),vegetation,and runoff during 1950-2019.The results showed that the climate in the drylands of Northwest China and the northern Tibetan Plateau is persistently warming and wetting since the 1980s,with an acceleration since the 1990s.The precipitation/humidity variations in North China,which are mainly influenced by summer monsoon,are generally opposite to those in the drylands of Northwest China.This reverse change is mainly controlled by an anomalous anticyclone over Mongolia,which leads to an anomalous easterly wind,reduced water vapor output,and increased precipitation in the drylands of Northwest China.While it also causes an anomalous descending motion,increased water vapor divergence,and decreased precipitation in North China.Precipitation is the primary controlling factor of humidity,which ultimately forms the spatiotemporal pattern of the“westerlies-dominated climatic regime”of antiphase precipitation/humidity variations between the drylands of Northwest China and monsoonal region of North China.The primary reasons behind the debate of the“warming and wetting”trend in Northwest China were due to the use of different time series lengths,regional ranges,and humidity indices in previous analyses.Since the EC-Earth3 has a good performance for simulating precipitation and humidity in Northwest and North China.By using its simulated results,we found a wetting trend in the drylands of Northwest China under low emission scenarios,but the climate will gradually transition to a“warming and drying”trend as emissions increase.This study suggests that moderate warming can be beneficial for improving the ecological environment in the drylands of Northwest China,while precipitation and humidity in monsoon-dominated North China will persistently increase under scenarios of increased emissions.Fahu CHEN Tingting XIE Yujie YANG Shengqian CHEN Feng CHEN Wei HUANG Jie CHEN 2023Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,6:1

9Converging Cooperative Functions into the Nanospace of Covalent Organic Frameworks for Efficient Uranium Extraction from Seawater显示文摘The extraction of uranium from seawater is challenging though it offers tremendous potential for the sustainable production of nuclear fuel for the energy sector.Herein,we report a new strategy for efficient extraction of uranium from seawater via converging the cooperative functions of adsorption-photocatalysis into the nanospace of covalent organic frameworks(COFs).Functionalization of the organic linkers in the multicomponent COFs allowed exploration of the relationship between material composition and adsorption-photocatalytic activity for uranium extraction.The presence of amidoxime groups in the COFs offered selective binding sites for uranyl,whilst triazine units and bipyridine-Pd groups acted cooperatively to photocatalytically reduce adsorbed U(Ⅵ)to a U(Ⅳ)solid product(UO2)for facile collection.One of our developed COFs,4-Pd-AO,displayed exceptional performance in sequestering and reducing uranyl from natural seawater,with a high extraction capacity of 4.62 mg U/g per day(average data)under visible light irradiation.Mechanistic studies revealed that 4-Pd-AO not only reduced adsorbed uranyl(Ⅵ)to U(Ⅳ)O_(2),but also generated ^(1)O_(2) and superoxide radicals under visible light excitation,thus affording excellent antibacterial and antialgal activities(i.e.,antibiofouling properties)for sustained efficient uranium extraction performance.This proof-ofconcept study establishes multicomponent COFs as promising candidates for efficient uranium extraction from seawater.Mengjie Hao Zhongshan Chen Xiaolu Liu Xianhai Liu Juyao Zhang Hui Yang Geoffrey I.N.Waterhouse Xiangke Wang Shengqian Ma 2022CCS Chemistry2022,4,7:1

15Effects of enhanced UV-B radiation on the content of flavonoids in mesophyll cells of wheat显示文摘The content of flavonoids in mesophyll cells of wheat was studied under the condition of enhanced UV-B radiation intensity.In this experiment,four groups of six days of control were treated with He-Ne laser group (L),enhanced UV-B radiation group (B),He-Ne laser and UV-B combined treatment group (B + L ),Normal light group (CK).Since the fl avonoids carry some unsubstituted hydroxyl or glycosyl groups,it is a polar compound.By the 'similar compatibility' principle,they have some level of solubility in polar solvents,such as methanol,ethanol,n-butanol,propanol,and water.In this experiment,70% ethanol was used to extract flavonoids.Finally,the total content of flavonoids in mesophyll cells was determined by visible spectrophotometry.The OD value of flavonoids was determined by rutin reagent 'The standard curves because rutin is a representative of flavonoids,it scavenging the role of free radicals significantly.The results showed that when the UV-B UV radiation intensity was enhanced,the content of flavonoids in wheat mesophyll cells increased,that is,the content of flavonoids in wheat leaves was higher than that in UV-B Strength was positively correlated.The results showed that the content of flavonoids in the mesophyll cells of the four control groups was the same as that of the B group> BL group> CK group> L group.With the prolonging of the treatment time of wheat,the content of flavonoids in wheat leaves at jointing-booting stage was signifi cantly higher than that in seedling stage and panicle stage.This means that flavonoids are a protective substance that absorbs UV-B in plants,that is,the absorption of UV-B by flavonoids reduces the damage of UV-B to organs in plants [8][10];UV-B The smaller the damage,the less the content of flavonoids;laser damage caused by UV-B have a certain role in the repair.In this study,we further studied the eff ect of enhanced UV-B radiation on the content of flavonoids in mesophyll cells of wheat.The eff ects of UV-B radiation on the content of flavonoids in wheat were studied.Whether it has a very important signifi cance for wheat has become a stress [5].Shilong Ou Shengqian Lu Shenning Yang 2018Imaging and Radiation Research2018,1,1:0
16Metal-organic framework nanocrystal-derived hollow porous materials: Synthetic strategies and emerging applications显示文摘Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)have garnered multidisciplinary attention due to their structural tailorability,controlled pore size,and physicochemical functions,and their inherent properties can be exploited by applying them as precursors and/or templates for fabricating derived hollow porous nanomaterials.The fascinating,functional properties and applications of MOFderived hollow porous materials primarily lie in their chemical composition,hollow character,and unique porous structure.Herein,a comprehensive overview of the synthetic strategies and emerging applications of hollow porous materials derived from MOF-based templates and/or precursors is given.Based on the role of MOFs in the preparation of hollow porous materials,the synthetic strategies are described in detail,including(1)MOFs as removable templates,(2)MOF nanocrystals as both self-sacrificing templates and precursors,(3)MOF@secondary-component core-shell composites as precursors,and(4)hollow MOF nanocrystals and their composites as precursors.Subsequently,the applications of these hollow porous materials for chemical catalysis,electrocatalysis,energy storage and conversion,and environmental management are presented.Finally,a perspective on the research challenges and future opportunities and prospects for MOF-derived hollow materials is provided.Xiaolu Liu Gaurav Verma Zhongshan Chen Baowei Hu Qifei Huang Hui Yang Shengqian Ma Xiangke Wang 2022The Innovation2022,3,5:0
