1Advances in low-protein diets for swine显示文摘Recent years have witnessed the great advantages of reducing dietary crude protein(CP) with free amino acids(AA)supplementation for sustainable swine industry, including saving protein ingredients, reducing nitrogen excretion, feed costs and the risk of gut disorders without impairing growth performance compared to traditional diets. However, a tendency toward increased fatness is a matter of concern when pigs are fed low-protein(LP) diets. In response, the use of the net energy system and balanced AA for formulation of LP diets has been proposed as a solution. Moreover, the extent to which dietary CP can be reduced is complicated. Meanwhile, the requirements for the first five limiting AA(lysine, threonine, sulfur-containing AA, tryptophan, and valine) that growing-finishing pigs fed LP diets were higher than pigs fed traditional diets, because the need for nitrogen for endogenous synthesis of non-essential AA to support protein synthesis may be increased when dietary CP is lowered. 2High-pressure granulite from Western Kunlun,northwestern China:Its metamorphic evolution,zircon SHRIMP U-Pb ages and tectonic implication显示文摘High-pressure mafic granulites occurring as lenticular bodies within garnet-amphibolites in Kangxiwar Fault have been first reported in this paper. The P-T conditions of two metamorphic stages were ob-tained using calibrated geothermal barometers and ThermoCalc Program. The peak metamorphic con-dition of these high-pressure granulites is about 760―820℃,1.0―1.2 GPa and the retrograde meta-morphic condition is about 620―720℃,0.7―0.8 GPa. The petrological studies show that they have a near-isobaric cooling P-T path which suggests that the Western Kunlun underwent initial crustal thickening,subsequent exhumation and cooling. The SHRIMP zircon U-Pb dating gives two groups of ages for high-pressure granulites. One is 177±6 Ma which is obtained from the rim of the zircon. We consider this age should be the metamorphic age. And the other is 456±30 Ma which is obtained from the core of the zircon and should be the protolith age. 4Altered Motor-Striatal Plasticity and Cortical Functioning in Patients with Schizophrenia显示文摘Patients with schizophrenia undergo changes in brain plasticity. In the present study, we characterized motor cortical-striatal plasticity in such patients. Compared with the potentiation following high-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation in the control group, the patients demonstrated impaired plasticity of corticostriatal motor-evoked potentials recorded from hand muscles.Notably, the loss of cortical plasticity was correlated with impaired motor learning in a rotary pursuit task. Moreover,the loss of plasticity was correlated with the symptoms of schizophrenia. 6Zircon U-Pb geochronology of tuffite beds in the Baishugou Formation:Constraints on the revision of Ectasian System at the southern margin of the North China Craton显示文摘The Xiamaling Formation of 1.4–1.35 Ga in Jixian Section and adjoining areas represents a unique Ectasian Period(Mesoproterozoic)sedimentary sequence in the North China Craton(NCC).Studies carried out during the last decade have contributed significantly in improving our understanding about the Ectasian sedimentation tectonics in the NCC during this transitional interval between the breakup of Supercontinent Columbia and the assembly of Rodinia.The present study reports,for the first time,tuffite beds interlayered with carbonaceous-siliceous slate-phyllite in the upper Baishugou Formation(western Henan Province),at the southern margin of NCC.The LA-MC-ICPMS U-Pb geochronology of zircons from two tuffite samples has yielded almost identical ages of 1330±10 Ma(MSWD=0.43,N=38)and 1332±10 Ma(MSWD=0.90,N=24),that constrain a 1.33 Ga depositional age(Ectasian Period)for the Baishugou Formation.A close similarity in lithological characteristics and their respective superimposed lithostratigraphic relationships of the Baishugou and Xiamaling formations,underline a comparable depositional environment for them.The high-precision geochronology data on the Baishugou Formation would stimulate a relook into the Meso-Neoproterozoic chronostratigraphic framework of the NCC,and further research would lead to a comprehensive understanding of the geological evolution of the NCC during Ectasian Period and its correlation with analogous global events.Xiyan ZHU Shiyan WANG Wenbo SU Taiping ZHAO Lanyin PANG Mingguo ZHAI 2020Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,11:4
7Durable and Flexible Bio-assembled RGO-BC/BC Bilayer Electrodes for Pressure Sensing显示文摘The new generation of electronics tends to be well-performed,facile and environmentally friendly.Here,we report a bio-assembled sensitive pressure senor based on reduced graphene oxide-bacterial cellulose/bacterial cellulose(RGO-BC/BC)bilayer films,integrated by bacteria in one step.The advantage of this integration is that there is strong nanofiber connection between the conductive RGO-BC and insulative highly compressible porous BC layer,which confers RGO-BC/BC film electrode with good robustness,tailorability,flexibility and wearability.Without extra bonding-interface or postprocessing,the RGO-BC/BC bilayer films could be directly assembled into pressure sensing devices.Ascribed from the good reversible compressibility of the BC layer and incorporated bilayer structure,the pressure sensor performs good sensitivity and excellent durability and bending stability.The facile sensitive capacitive sensor could monitor the human hand or finger motion in real time.The sensing array is able to detect the spatial distribution of pressure mounted in the flat plane as well as curved surface of human body,succeeding in the correction of human walking posture for health care.The e-skins are potential in wearable electronics,artificial intelligence,soft robots,healthcare etc.Fangyi Guan Zhiliang Han Mengtian Jin Zhuotong Wu Ye Chen Shiyan Chen Huaping Wang 2021Advanced Fiber Materials2021,3,2:2
8Towards carbon neutrality:A study on China's long-term low-carbon transition pathways and strategies显示文摘As the world's biggest carbon dioxide(CO_(2))emitter and the largest developing country,China faces daunting challenges to peak its emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality within 40 years.This study fully considered the carbon-neutrality goal and the temperature rise constraints required by the Paris Agreement,by developing six long-term development scenarios,and conducting a quantitative evaluation on the carbon emissions pathways,energy transformation,technology,policy and investment demand for each scenario.This study combined both bottom-up and top-down methodologies,including simulations and analyses of energy consumption of end-use and power sectors(bottom-up),as well as scenario analysis,investment demand and technology evaluation at the macro level(top-down).This study demonstrates that achieving carbon neutrality before 2060 translates to significant efforts and overwhelming challenges for China.To comply with the target,a high rate of an average annual reduction of CO_(2) emissions by 9.3%from 2030 to 2050 is a necessity,which requires a huge investment demand.For example,in the 1.5℃ scenario,an investment in energy infrastructure alone equivalent to 2.6%of that year's GDP will be necessary.The technological pathway towards carbon neutrality will rely highly on both conventional emission reduction technologies and breakthrough technologies.China needs to balance a long-term development strategy of lower greenhouse gas emissions that meets both the Paris Agreement and the long-term goals for domestic economic and social development,with a phased implementation for both its five-year and long-term plans.Jiankun He Zheng Li Xiliang Zhang Hailin Wang Wenjuan Dong Ershun Du Shiyan Chang Xunmin Ou Siyue Guo Zhiyu Tian Alun Gu Fei Teng Bin Hu Xiu Yang Siyuan Chen Mingtao Yao Zhiyi Yuan Li Zhou Xiaofan Zhao Ying Li Danwei Zhang 2022Environmental Science and Ecotechnology2022,,1:2

16Horizontal transfer of vanA between probiotic Enterococcus faecium and Enterococcus faecalis in fermented soybean meal and in digestive tract of growing pigs显示文摘Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the intergeneric transfer of vancomycin resistance gene vanA between probiotic enterococci in the fermentation progress of soybean meal and in the digestive tract of growing pigs.One vanA genotype vancomycin resistant E.faecium strain,Efm4,and one chloramphenicol-resistant E.faecalis strain,Efs2,were isolated from twenty-nine probiotic basis feed material/additive samples.For in vitro conjugation,Efm4 and Efs2 were used as starter to ferment soybean meal.For in vivo conjugation,thirty growing pigs were randomly assigned to five groups(n = 6),treated with a basic diet,or supplemented with 10% fermented soybean meal,1% Efm4,5% Efs2 or a combination of 1% Efm4 + 5% Efs2 for 7 d,respectively.Fecal samples of pigs in each group were collected daily for the isolation and dynamic analysis of Efm4,Efs2 and transconjugants.The sequence types(STs) of Efm4,Efs2 and transconjugants were analyzed by multilocus sequence typing(MLST).The vanA harboring plasmid in Efm4 and transconjugants was analyzed by S1-pulsed field gel electrophoresis(PFGE)and further verified by multiple alignments.Results: The results showed that,in FSBM,transconjugants were detected 1 h after the fermentation,with a conjugation frequency of ~ 10^-3 transconjugants/recipient.Transconjugants proliferated with Efm4 and Efs2 in the first 8 h and maintained steadily for 10 d till the end of the experiment.Additionally,in vivo experiment showed that transcojugants were recovered in one of six pigs in both FSBM and Efm4 + Efs2 groups,with conjugation frequency of ~ 10^-5 and ~ 10^-4,respectively.MLST revealed the ST of Efm4,Efs2 and transconjugants was ST1014,ST69 and ST69,respectively.S1-PFGE confirmed the existence of the vanA-harboring,142,988-bp plasmid,which was also a multi-drug resistant plasmid containing Tn1546-like transposon.Conclusions: The findings revealed the potential safety hazard existing in the commercial probiotic enterococci in China,because the horizontal transfer from farm to fork could potentially pose a safety risk to the public.Ning Li Haitao Yu Hongbin Liu Yuming Wang Junyan Zhou Xi Ma Zheng Wang Chengtao Sun Shiyan Qiao 2019Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2019,10,3:1

18Effectiveness and safety evaluation of graded levels of N-carbamylglutamate in growing-finishing pigs显示文摘The aim of this study was as follows:1)to investigate the effects of graded levels of N-carbamylglutamate(NCG)on performance,blood biochemical indexes,carcass traits and related indicators in growingfinishing pigs,and 2)to determine the optimal supplemental level.The toxicity of high-dose(much higher than recommended levels)NCG was assessed by routine blood tests and blood biochemical and histopathologic examinations of the heart,liver,spleen,lung,kidney and stomach.One hundred and forty-four growing-finishing pigs(DurocLarge WhiteLandrace,32.24±1.03 kg)were used in a 74-d experiment and each treatment was replicated 6 times with 4 pigs(2 barrows and 2 gilts)per replicate.The dietary treatments were a corn-soybean meal basal diet supplemented with 0%(control),0.05%,0.1%,0.15%,0.2%or 1%NCG.The first 5 groups were used to explore the optimal supplemental level of NCG,while the control,0.1%and 1%NCG groups were used to explore the safety of high-dose NCG.Compared with the normal control group,the final body weight and average daily gain tended to be higher in the 0.1%group(P=0.08),the lean percentage tended to be higher in the 0.05%group(P=0.07),the levels of free amino acids in the blood significantly increased in the 0.1%group(P<0.05),both 0.1%and 0.15%NCG supplementation increased the levels of nitric oxide(NO)in serum(P=0.07)and muscle growth-and lipid metabolism-related gene expression(P<0.05)and NCG supplementation improved C18:1N9C monounsaturated fatty acids(MUFA)in a dose-dependent manner(P=0.08).In addition,routine blood tests,blood biochemical indexes and histopathological examination revealed no abnormalities.Overall,increasing the levels of NCG did not linearly improve the above indicators;the 0.1%dose showed the best effect,and a high dose(1%)did not pose a toxicity risk.Chunping Wang Lijun Shang Qiuping Guo Yehui Duan Mengmeng Han Fengna Li Yulong Yin Shiyan Qiao 2022Animal Nutrition2022,,3:1
