| 2 | Protective effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell-derived conditioned medium on ovarian damage显示文摘Chemotherapeutic agents are extensively used to treat malignancies.However,chemotherapy-induced ovarian damage and reduced fertility are severe side effects.Recently,stem cell transplantation has been reported to be an effective strategy for premature ovarian insufficiency(POI)treatment,but safety can still be an issue in stem cell-based therapy.Here,we show the protective effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell-derived conditioned medium(hUCMSC-CM)on a cisplatin(Cs)-induced ovarian injury model.hUCMSC-CM can relieve Cs-induced depletion of follicles and preserve fertility.In addition,hUCMSC-CM can decrease apoptosis of oocytes and granulosa cells induced by Cs.RNA sequencing analysis reveals the differentially expressed genes of ovaries after Cs and hUCMSC-CM treatments,including genes involved in cell apoptosis.Furthermore,we show that the granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(G-CSF)/phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase(PI3K)/protein kinase B(Akt)pathway plays an important role in protecting granulosa cells from Cs-induced apoptosis.Together,we confirm the protective effects of hUCMSC-CM on ovarian reserve and fertility in mice treated with Cs,highlighting the remarkable therapeutic effects of hUCMSC-CM. | Liming Hong Long Yan Zhimin Xin Jie Hao Wenjing Liu Shuyu Wang Shujie Liao Hongmei Wang Xiaokui Yang | 2020 | Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,5: | 7 |
| 3 | Mechanical Characteristics of Typical Plant Leaves显示文摘Plant leaf is a natural composite biomaterial, and its strength is closely related to the microstructure. In this paper, themechanical characteristics of eight species of plant leaves were investigated and analyzed. The ultimate strength of leaves andthe hardness of leaf surfaces were measured by using universal testing machine and nanoindenter tester, respectively. The tensilestrength of the parallel microstructure was investigated based on its cross-sectional mechanical model. The results of tensiontests indicate that the ultimate strength of a leaf is related to the material composition and structure. The coriaceous leavesusually exhibit higher tensile strength. For example, the Phyllostachys pubescens leaf can achieve the maximum ultimatestrength of 5.9091 N·mm-2. It is concluded from the results of hardness tests that material components of leaf surface caninfluence the surface hardness evidently. | 6 | Ferromagnetic and ferroelectric properties of Aurivillius phase Bi_9Fe_(4.7)Me_(0.3)Ti_3O_(27)(Me 5 Fe, Co, Ni, Mn)显示文摘New Aurivillius phase Bi9Fe4.7Me0.3Ti3O27(Me = Fe, Co, Ni, Mn) oxides have been prepared using a citrate combustion method. X-ray diffraction on powders and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy investigation confirmed that the Bi9Fe4.7Me0.3Ti3O27 samples are with an eight-layer structure. Both ferromagnetic and ferroelectric investigations suggested that Co or Ni substitution could enhance their multiferroic properties,while Mn substitution depressed them. Among all the samples, Bi9Fe4.7Co0.3Ti3O27 sample exhibits the largest remnant polarization of Pr*3.8 l C/cm2, and the largest remnant magnetization of Mr*0.06 lB/f.u. with a Curie temperature about 764 K, while the Bi9Fe4.7Ni0.3Ti3O27 sample has the largest spontaneous magnetization(0.26 lB/f.u.). | 9 | The use of machine learning to predict the effects of cryoprotective agents on the GelMA-based bioinks used in extrusion cryobioprinting显示文摘Cryobioprinting has tremendous potential to solve problems to do with lack of shelf availability in traditional bioprinting by combining extrusion bioprinting and cryopreservation.In order to ensure the viability of cells in the frozen state and avoid the possible toxicity of dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO),DMSO-free bioink design is critical for achieving successful cryobioprinting.A nontoxic gelatin methacryloyl-based bioink used in cryobioprinting is composed of cryoprotective agents(CPAs)and a buffer solution.The selection and ratio of CPAs in the bioink directly affect the survival of cells in the frozen state.However,the development of universal and efficient cryoprotective bioinks requires extensive experimentation.We first compared two commonly used CPA formulations via experiments in this study.Results show that the effect of using ethylene glycol as the permeable CPA was 6.07%better than that of glycerol.Two datasets were obtained and four machinelearning models were established to predict experimental outcomes.The predictive powers of multiple linear regression(MLR),decision tree(DT),random forest(RF),and artificial neural network(ANN)approaches were compared,suggesting an order of ANN>RF>DT>MLR.The final selected ANN model was then applied to another dataset.Results reveal that this machine-learning method can accurately predict the effects of cryoprotective bioinks composed of different CPAs.Outcomes also suggest that the formulations presented here have universality.Our findings are likely to greatly accelerate research and development on the use of bioinks for cryobioprinting. | Qian Qiao Xiang Zhang Zhenhao Yan Chuanyu Hou Juanli Zhang Yong He Na Zhao Shujie Yan Youping Gong Qian Li | 2023 | Bio-Design and Manufacturing2023,6,4: | 0 |
| 10 | miR-424(322)-5p targets Ezh1 to inhibit the proliferation and differentiation of myoblasts显示文摘The proliferation and differentiation of myoblasts are considered the key biological processes in muscle development and muscle-related diseases,in which the miRNAs involved remain incompletely understood.Previous research reported that miR-424(322)-5p is highly expressed in mouse skeletal muscle.Therefore,C2C12 cells are used as a model to clarify the effect of miR-424(322)-5p on the proliferation and differentiation of myoblasts.The data show that miR-424(322)-5p exhibits a decreasing trend upon myogenic differentiation.Overexpression of miR-424(322)-5p inhibits the proliferation of myoblasts,manifested by downregulation of proliferation marker genes(CCNB1,CCND2,and CDK4),decreased percentage of EdU^(+)cells,and reduced cell viability.In contrast,these phenotypes are promoted in myoblasts treated with an inhibitor of miR-424(322)-5p.Interestingly,its gain of function inhibits the expression of myogenic regulators,including MyoD,MyoG,MyHC,and Myf5.Additionally,immunofluorescence staining of MyHC and MyoD shows that overexpression of miR-424(322)-5p reduces the number of myotubes and decreases the myotube fusion index.Consistently,inhibition of its function mediated by an inhibitor promotes the expressions of myogenic markers and myotube fusion.Mechanistically,gene prediction and dual-luciferase reporter experiments confirm that enhancer of zeste homolog 1(Ezh1)is one of the targets of miR-424(322)-5p.Furthermore,knockdown of Ezh1 inhibits the proliferation and differentiation of myoblasts.Compared with NC and inhibitor treatment,inhibitor+si-EZH1 treatment rescues the phenotypes of proliferation and differentiation mediated by the miR-424(322)-5p inhibitor.Taken together,these data indicate that miR-424(322)-5p targets Ezh1 to negatively regulate the proliferation and differentiation of myoblasts. | Yongqi Yue Xinxin Feng Yige Jia Shujie Luo Menglei Jiang Jiandan Luo Yonglin Hua Jiyue Zhang Yaqiu Lin Jian Li Yan Xiong | 2023 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,3: | 0 |

| 12 | Fabrication of anti-fouling polyamide nanofiltration membrane by incorporating streptomycin as a novel co-monomer显示文摘Polyamide(PA)thin-film composite(TFC)na nofiltration(NF)membrane has extremely broad application prospects in separation of monovalent/diva lent inorganic salts mixed solutio n.However,membrane fouling is the main obstacle to the application of PA,TFC and NF membrane.Streptomycin(SM)is a hydrophilic antibiotic containing a large number of hydroxyl and amino groups.In this work,the NF membrane was prepared via interfacial polymerization(IP)between trimesoyl chloride(TMC)in the organic phase and SM/piperazine(PIP)mixture in the aqueous phase.The NF membrane structure and performance were characterized in detail.The results showed that SM successfully participated in the IP.The negative charge and hydrophilicity of membrane surface were improved.The prepared membrane exhibited good anti-adhesion and anti-bacterial performance,Additionally,when the SM concentration was 2%,the prepared membrane exhibited the optimal permselectivity.The water permeance was 89.4L·m^(-2)·h^(-1)·MPa^(-1).The rejection of NaCl and Na_(2)SO_(4) were 17,17%and 97.84%,respectively.The NaCl/Na_(3)SO_(4) separation factor of the SM2-PIP/TMC membrane in 1000 mg·L^(-1) NaCl and 1000 mg·L^(-1)Na_(2)SO_(4) mixed solution was 40,which was 3.3 times that of PIP/TMC membrane.It indicated that SM2-PIP/TMC demonstrated excellent monovalent/divalent salts separation performance.This work provided an easy and effective approach to preparing anti-fouling NF membrane while possessing superior monovalent/divalent salts separation performance. | Shujie Guo Jiao Du Fangzheng Yan Zhi Wang Jixiao Wang | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,,10: | 0 |

| 14 | Development of a Bayesian inference model for assessing ventilation condition based on CO_(2)meters in primary schools显示文摘Outdoor fresh air ventilation plays a significant role in reducing airborne transmission of diseases in indoor spaces.School classrooms are considerably challenged during the COVID-19 pandemic because of the increasing need for in-person education,untimely and incompleted vaccinations,high occupancy density,and uncertain ventilation conditions.Many schools started to use CO_(2)meters to indicate air quality,but how to interpret the data remains unclear.Many uncertainties are also involved,including manual readings,student numbers and schedules,uncertain CO_(2)generation rates,and variable indoor and ambient conditions.This study proposed a Bayesian inference approach with sensitivity analysis to understand CO_(2)readings in four primary schools by identifying uncertainties and calibrating key parameters.The outdoor ventilation rate,CO_(2)generation rate,and occupancy level were identified as the top sensitive parameters for indoor CO_(2)levels.The occupancy schedule becomes critical when the CO_(2)data are limited,whereas a 15-min measurement interval could capture dynamic CO_(2)profiles well even without the occupancy information.Hourly CO_(2)recording should be avoided because it failed to capture peak values and overestimated the ventilation rates.For the four primary school rooms,the calibrated ventilation rate with a 95%confidence level for fall condition is 1.96±0.31 ACH for Room#1(165 m^(3)and 20 occupancies)with mechanical ventilation,and for the rest of the naturally ventilated rooms,it is 0.40±0.08 ACH for Room#2(236 m^(3)and 21 occupancies),0.30±0.04 or 0.79±0.06 ACH depending on occupancy schedules for Room#3(236 m^(3)and 19 occupancies),0.40±0.32,0.48±0.37,0.72±0.39 ACH for Room#4(231 m^(3)and 8–9 occupancies)for three consecutive days. | Danlin Hou Liangzhu(Leon)Wang Ali Katal Shujie Yan Liang(Grace)Zhou Vicky Wang Mark Vuotari Ethan Li Zihan Xie | 2023 | Building Simulation2023,16,1: | 0 |
