| 4 | Study of thermo-fluidic characteristics for geometric-anisotropy Kagome truss-cored lattice显示文摘The aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive comparison of the thermal insulation and heat transfer performance for Kagome truss-cored lattice along two perpendicular orientations OA and OB. Three test conditions are conducted under forced air convection for the titanium sandwich panel fabricated by 3 D printing technology. The thermo-fluidic characteristics are further explored by numerical simulation to reveal the underlying mechanisms of heat transfer enhancement.The results indicate that the orientation OB exhibits better thermal insulation than orientation OA under the identical temperature loading, while the latter outperforms the former by up to 20% higher overall heat transfer performance. In particular, the endwalls and lattice core in orientation OA achieve 9.7% and 22.5% higher area-averaged Nusselt number respectively than that in orientation OB for a given Reynolds number. The heat transfer superiority of orientation OA comes from the unique topology which induces the large scale spiral primary flows, facilitating the heat exchange between the cooling air and the surfaces of sandwich panel. | 5 | H7N9 virus infection triggers lethal cytokine storm by activating gasdermin E-mediated pyroptosis of lung alveolar epithelial cells显示文摘The H7N9 influenza virus emerged in China in 2013,causing more than 1560 human infections,39% of which were fatal.A ‘cytokine storm’ in the lungs of H7N9 patients has been linked to a poor prognosis and death;however,the underlying mechanism that triggers the cytokine storm is unknown.Here,we found that efficient replication of the H7N9 virus in mouse lungs activates gasdermin E(GSDME)-mediated pyroptosis in alveolar epithelial cells,and that the released cytosolic contents then trigger a cytokine storm.Knockout of Gsdme switched the manner of death of A549 and human primary alveolar epithelial cells from pyroptosis to apoptosis upon H7N9 virus infection,and Gsdme knockout mice survived H7N9 virus lethal infection.Our findings reveal that GSDME activation is a key and unique mechanism for the pulmonary cytokine storm and lethal outcome of H7N9 virus infection and thus opens a new door for the development of antivirals against the H7N9 virus. | Xiaopeng Wan Jiqing Li Yupeng Wang Xiaofei Yu Xijun He Jianzhong Shi Guohua Deng Xianying Zeng Guobin Tian Yanbing Li Yongping Jiang Yuntao Guan Chengjun Li Feng Shao Hualan Chen | 2022 | National Science Review2022,9,1: | 3 |

| 8 | Self-organization of unimolecular micelles in beam stream for functional mesoporous metal oxide nanofibers显示文摘The use of linear amphiphilic block copolymers as templates is an important method for the preparation of mesoporous materials.However,the obtained assemblies are usually sensitive to synthetic conditions,which impedes the preparation of such mesoporous materials in certain environments.Herein,we report a universal strategy applying an amphiphilic multiarm triblock copolymer in the preparation of mesoporous metal oxide nanofibers(NFs)using one metal oxide(TiO_(2),ZrO_(2),WO_(3),CeO_(2)),or two(TiO_(2)/WO 3,TiO_(2)/ZrO_(2),TiO_(2)/CeO_(2))and three(TiO_(2)/WO_(3)/CuO)metal oxides as composites.The template consists of modified β-cyclodextrin as the center of the macromolecule which is attached sequentially to a block of polystyrene,poly(acrylic acid),and poly(ethylene oxide).Under electrospinning conditions,stable unimolecular micelles are formed and effectively co-assemble with metal ions to form fibrous nanostructures.As indicated by various characterization methods,the synthesized TiO_(2) and its derived composite NFs maintain a straight and continuous fibrous structure after calcination,and TiO_(2) NFs exhibit uniform mesopores of 10.8 nm in diameter and a large Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area of 143.3 m^(2)g^(−1).Benefiting from the characteristic structure,still present after modification,Pt-decorated mesoporous TiO_(2) NFs display excellent ability in the visible-light photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline,which is superior to the commercial P25 catalyst.This study reveals a promising strategy for the preparation of fibrous mesoporous metal oxides. | Chongfei Gu Xiaoshan Fan Guihua Zhu Yuchi Fan Haifeng Wang Tao Zhao Qi Xiao Yuan Fang Xiaopeng Li Wan Jiang Lianjun Wang Pengpeng Qiu Wei Luo | 2022 | Fundamental Research2022,2,5: | 1 |

| 15 | Revealing the interlaminar shear failure behavior of unidirectional laminate under combined compression-shear loads显示文摘Due to the coupling effects between stresses in different directions,the mechanical behavior of an ad-vanced composite material under multiaxial loading is extremely complex.In this study,the influence of through-thickness compressive stress on the interlaminar shear performance of a carbon fiber-reinforced composite was experimentally investigated.Hollow cylindrical unidirectional laminate specimens were fabricated to conduct combined compression-shear tests,and the fracture morphologies of the specimens were characterized to reveal their failure behavior.The results indicate that a moderate compression load significantly enhanced the shear properties of the laminate by inhibiting crack propagation and improv-ing the friction effect.The shear strength and modulus of a laminate specimen subjected to combined stresses improved up to a maximum of 76%and 231%,respectively,over those of an equivalent specimen subjected to pure shear.However,as the applied through-thickness load approached the compressive strength of the laminate,the specimen shear capacity began to decline owing to the transition of frac-ture mechanisms.Indeed,the specimens exhibited mixed failure modes corresponding to the different stress states,which were induced by the combined effects of through-thickness compressive and shear stresses.As the applied through-thickness compressive stress increased,the dominant failure mode of the laminate specimen changed from fiber-matrix debonding to fiber shearing and then to fiber break-age,resulting in various shear performances. | Yueran Zhao Jian Zang Ben Jia Junchao Yang Xiaopeng Wan Wenzhi Wang Xiangming Chen | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,26: | 0 |
