2Hypocrellin A-based photodynamic action induces apoptosis in A549 cells through ROS-mediated mitochondrial signaling pathway显示文摘Over recent decades, many studies have reported that hypocrellin A(HA) can eliminate cancer cells with proper irradiation in several cancer cell lines. However, the precise molecular mechanism underlying its anticancer effect has not been fully defined. HA-mediated cytotoxicity and apoptosis in human lung adenocarcinoma A549 cells were evaluated after photodynamic therapy(PDT). A temporal quantitative proteomics approach by isobaric tag for relative and absolute quantitation(iTRAQ) 2 D liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometric(LC–MS/MS) was introduced to help clarify molecular cytotoxic mechanisms and identify candidate targets of HA-induced apoptotic cell death. Specific caspaseinhibitors were used to further elucidate the molecular pathway underlying apoptosis in PDT-treated A549 cells. Finally, down-stream apoptosis-related protein was evaluated. Apoptosis induced by HA was associated with cell shrinkage, externalization of cell membrane phosphatidylserine, DNA fragmentation,and mitochondrial disruption, which were preceded by increased intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS) generations. 3Spatial and temporal variability of heat content above the thermocline in the tropical Pacific Ocean显示文摘Heat content of the upper layer above the 20℃ isotherm in the tropical Pacific Ocean is estimated by using the sea temperature data set with a resolution 2°latitude × 5°longitude (1980~1993) for the water depths (every 10 m) from 0 m to 400 m, and its temporal and spatial variabilities are analyzed. ( 1 ) The temporal variability indicates that the total heat in the upper layer of the equatorial Pacific Ocean is characterized by the interannual variability. The time series of the equatorial heat anomaly 5 months lead that of the El Nino index at the best positive lag correlation between the two, and the former 13 months lag behind the latter at their best negative lag correlation. Therefore the equatorial heat content can be used as a better predictor than the El Nino index for a warm or cold event. In addition, it is also found that less heat anomaly in the equator corresponds to the stronger warm events in the period (1980~1993) and much more heat was accumulated in the 4 years including 1992/1993 ENSO (1989~1993) than the 4 years including 1982/1983 ENSO (1980~1983); (2) The spatial variability indicates that the area with the highest lag correlation among the grids moves in an anti-clockwise circle in the northern tropical Pacific Ocean within 4 years period and in a clockwise circle in the southern tropical Pacific Ocean. 4Toxic effects of chlortetracycline on maize growth,reactive oxygen species generation and the antioxidant response显示文摘The toxicity of chlortetracycline (CTC) on maize (Zea mays L.) growth and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation was studied.The root and shoot lengths and fresh weights of maize seedlings were inhibited by CTC treatment (p < 0.05).Root length was more sensitive than other parameters with the EC 10 value of 0.064 mg/L.The spin trapping technique followed by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) analysis was used to quantify the ROS production.The ROS generated in maize roots after exposure to CTC was identified as hydroxyl radical (·OH).The EPR signal intensity correlated positively with the logarithm of CTC concentrations exposed (p < 0.05).The dynamic changes of malondialdehyde (MDA) contents and the antioxidative enzyme activities in maize roots were also determined.As compared to the control group,CTC was found to significantly increase MDA content.Treatment of maize roots with the ·OH scavenger sodium benzoate (SB) reduced the MDA content and enhanced the antioxidative enzyme activities.The results demonstrated the harmfulness of CTC at high dose to maize in the early developmental stage,and clarified that the inducement of ·OH is one of the mechanisms of CTC toxicity.Bei Wen Yu Liu Peng Wang Tong WU Shuzhen Zhang Xiaoquan Shan Jingfen Lu 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,6:6

6Sr-Nd-Pb Isotopic Compositions of the Neogene Eolian Deposits in the Xining Basin and Implications for Their Dust Sources显示文摘The Neogene eolian deposits in the Xining Basin are valuable archive for studying the evolution of the Asian monsoon system and geomorphic processes of Northwest China. The Neogene eolian deposits that paleomagnetically dated at about 14 Ma probably were sourced from the middle and west Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau(QTP) as indicated by elemental compositions and magnetic properties. This study provides the Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic ratios of different sediments(gravels from the river terraces, Neogene eolian deposits and Quaternary loess) in the Xining Basin. The results show that:(1) Sr-Nd isotopic compositions of terrace gravels are different from those of the Neogene and Quaternary eolian deposits, although the Nd isotope ratios of gravel on the 10 th terrace(T10) and eolian deposits are similar.(2) Pb isotopic compositions of river gravels are obviously different from the eolian deposits in the Xining Basin. However, Pb isotopic compositions of eolian deposits in the basin are similar to those of eolian deposits in the central Chinese Loess Plateau.(3) Sr-Nd-Pb isotope results indicate that the Neogene eolian deposits in the Xining Basin were probably sourced from remote areas outside of the basin by long-distance transportation. 7152 W high-power blue diode laser operated at 447 nm显示文摘We demonstrate a high-power blue diode laser operated at 447 nm combining laser diodes using an optical fiber bundle. As many as 127 diode lasers at 447 nm were coupled into 400 μm/0.22 NA fibers using an aspherical lens group with different focus lengths. The bare fibers were mechanically bundled through high temperature ultraviolet adhesive after the coatings of the 127 fibers were stripped. The diameter of the fiber bundle was 6 mm. 8Prognostic significance of combining high mobility group Box-1 and OV-6 expression in hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘The inflammatory environment and existence of cancer stem cells are critical for progression and intrahepatic recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) after curative resections. Here, we investigated the prognostic significance of combining high mobility group box 1(HMGB1) expression and hepatic progenitor marker OV6 in hepatocellular carcinoma. Expression of HMGB1 and OV6 was evaluated using immunohistochemistry profiling in tissue microarrays containing samples from 208 HCC patients. Invasive clinical or pathological factors were found in patients with high expression of HMGB1 or OV6. Higher HMGB1 was associated with poorer clinical outcomes, and independently related to elevated 5-year recurrence incidence(85.5% vs. 62.4%, P<0.001). We also found that more OV6 positive staining was correlated with poor prognosis of HCC patients(P<0.001). Notably, expression of HMGB1 was positively correlated with OV6 in density(R2=0.032, P<0.001) and reversely related to HCC outcomes. Abnormal expression of HMGB1 in combination with positive staining of OV6 displayed poorer prognostic performance than single biomarker alone(area under curve(AUC) survival=0.696). 9Effects of microtopography on spatial point pattern of forest stands on the semi-arid Loess Plateau,China显示文摘Microtopography may affect the distribution of forests through its effect on rain redistribution and soil water distribution on the semi-arid Loess Plateau,China.In this study,we investigated the characteristics of microtopography on two shady slopes(slope A,5 hm2,uniform slope;slope B,5 hm2,microtopography slope) and surveyed the height,the diameter at breast height and the location(x,y coordinates) of all selected individual trees(Robinia pseudoacacia Linn.,Pyrus betulifolia Bunge,Populus hopeiensis Hu & Chow,Armeniaca sibirica Lam.,Populus simonii Carr.and Ulmus pumila Linn.) on slope A and slope B in the watersheds of Wuqi county,Shaanxi province.Subsequently,the effects of microtopography on the spatial pattern of forest stands were analyzed using Ripley's K(r) function.The results showed that:(1) The maximal aggregation radiuses of the tree species on the uniform slope(slope A) were larger than 40 m,whereas those of the tree species on the microtopography slope(slope B) were smaller than 30 m.(2) On slope B,the spatial association of R.pseudoacacia with P.betulifolia,A.sibirica,P.simonii and U.pumila varied from being strongly negative to positive at microtopography scales.The spatial association of Populus hopeiensis Hu & Chow with U.pumila also varied from being strongly negative to positive at microtopography scales.However,there was no spatial association between P.betulifolia and P.hopeiensis,P.betulifolia and A.sibirica,P.betulifolia and P.simonii,P.betulifolia and U.pumila,P.hopeiensis and A.sibirica,P.hopeiensis and P.simonii,A.sibirica and P.simonii,A.sibirica and U.pumila,and P.simonii and U.pumila.On slope A,the spatial association between tree species were strongly negative.The results suggest that microtopography may shape tree distribution patterns on the semi-arid Loess Plateau.WeiJun ZHAO Yan ZHANG QingKe ZHU Wei QIN ShuZhen PENG Ping LI YanMin ZHAO Huan MA Yu WANG 2015Journal of Arid Land2015,7,3:3
10Computer Simulation of Mechanical Properties of Nano-scale Cu/FeS Composite显示文摘The mechanical properties of nano-scale Cu/FeS composite were simulated by molecular dynamics (MD) simulation in this paper. Through the analysis on the stress-strain curves, the results of MD simulation were in good agreement with mechanisms of macroscopic deformation. When the size of particles was smaller than a certain value, the relationship between yield strength and size, which was different from the large size crystals abided by the contrary Hall-Petch relationship. Based on the discussion of nano-scale Cu/FeS composite, some interesting conclusions were obtained. For example, the 'S' type curves were discovered in stress-strain curves and the anisotropy of FeS was very evident when the exposures of reinforcing phase (FeS) were different and so on. The basic theories and calculations of the composite that contains nano-scale particles were discussed. 11IAP's Solar-Powered Unmanned Surface Vehicle Actively Passes through the Center of typhoon Sinlaku(2020)显示文摘The solar-powered marine unmanned surface vehicle(USV) developed by the USV team of the Institute of Atmospheric Physics is a rugged, long-duration, and autonomous navigation vessel designed for the collection of longrange, continuous, real-time, meteorological and oceanographic measurements, especially under extreme sea conditions(sea state 6–7). These solar-powered USVs completed a long-term continuous navigation observation test over 26 days.During this time, they coordinated double-USV observations and actively navigated into the path of Typhoon Sinlaku(2020) before collecting data very close to its center during the 2020 USV South China Sea Typhoon Observation Experiment. Detailed high temporal resolution(1 min) real-time observations collected by the USV on the typhoon were used for operational typhoon forecasting and warning for the first time. 12Nd-doped structurally disordered YSr_(3)(PO_(4))_(3) single crystal:Growth and laser performances显示文摘Disordered-structure crystals have drawn increasing attention as promising ultrashort laser material hosts owing to their broad linewidth.Herein,a novel disordered Nd:YSr_(3)(PO_(4))_(3)(Nd:YSP)crystal with good quality was successfully grown via the Czochralski pulling technique.The absorption and fluorescence spectra of the Nd:YSP single crystal were recorded at ambient temperature.The maximum absorption cross section for Nd:YSP single crystal is found to be approximately 3.89×10^(-20) cm^(2).The stimulated emission cross section for Nd:YSP crystal at~1060 nm was determined to be 7.64×10^(20) cm^(2) with the full width half maximum value of 22 nm.The fluorescence lifetime of the Nd3+ions in the Nd:YSP crystal is fitted to be 288μs.Diode-pumped continuous-wave laser operation is firstly realized at approximately 1060 nm.The maximum output power value from the Nd:YSP crystal is 714 mW,corresponding to a slope efficiency of-12.8%.The results indicate that the Nd:YSP crystal with a disordered structure may be a promising disordered laser host.Guangda Wu Xiaoqin Yin Mengdi Fan Fapeng Yu Shuzhen Fan Zhengping Wang Xian Zhao 2021Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,12:2

16Synergistic in-situ growth of silver nanoparticles with nanozyme activity for dual-mode biosensing and cancer theranostics显示文摘A multifunctional nanocomposite of AgNPs@GQDs is prepared by synergistic in-situ growth of silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)on the complex of tannic acid(TA)and graphene quantum dots(GQDs)for the construction of dual-mode biosensing platform and cancer theranostics.The nanocomposite exhibits a hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))-responsive degradation,in which Ag^(0)is oxidized to Ag^(+)along with the release of oxidized TA and GQDs.The degradation induces the decreased absorbance and enhanced fluorescence(FL)intensity due to the suppression of Forster resonance ene rgy transfer(FRET)in AgNPs@GQDs,which is employed for colorimetric/fluorescence dual-mode sensing of H_(2)O_(2).The intrinsic peroxidase-like activity of GQDs nanozyme can effectively catalyze the oxidation reaction,enhancing the detection sensitivity significantly.Based on the generation of H_(2)O_(2)from the oxidation of glucose with the catalysis of glucose oxidase(GOx),this nanoprobe is versatilely used for the determination of glucose in human serum.Further,through combining the H_(2)O_(2)-responsive degradation of AgNPs@GQDs with high H_(2)O_(2)level in cancer cells,the nanocomposites exhibit good performance in cancer cell recognition and therapy,in which the synergistic anticancer effect of Ag^(+)and oxidized TA contribute to effective cell death,and the liberated GQDs are used to monitor the therapeutic effect by cell imaging.Xin Hai Yuwei Li Kaixin Yu Shuzhen Yue Yuanfang Li Weiling Song Sai Bi Xueji Zhang 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,3:1

18Acetylcholinesterase liquid crystal biosensor for identification of AChE inhibitors by a reactivator显示文摘An improved acetylcholinesterase liquid crystal(LC) biosensor has been developed for the identification of organophosphates(OPs) by using a reactivator. When the acetylcholinesterases(AChEs) inhibited by different kinds of OPs are reactived by a reactivator, the catalytic activity of AChEs can be recovered with different activation efficiency because of the different phosphorylation structures formed in the inhibited AChEs. Accordingly, the reactived AChEs can catalyze the hydrolysis of acetylthiocholine to generate thiocholine product in different degrees, which will result in different catalytic growth of AuNPs and further form distinct orientational response of LCs.
