| 1 | Comparative effect of electroacupuncture and moxibustion on the expression of substance P and vasoactive intestinal peptide in patients with irritable bowel syndrome显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To compare the impacts of electroacupuncture(EA) and moxibustion(Mox) on the primary gastrointestinal symptoms and the expressions of colonic mucosa-associated neuropeptide substance P(SP) and vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP)in patients with either diarrhea-predominant or constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-D and IBS-C,respectively).METHODS: Eighty-five IBS patients were randomly allocated to the EA and Mox groups. Zusanli(ST 36)and Shangjuxu(ST 37) were selected as acupoints for electroacupuncture or warm moxibustion treatment once a day for 14 consecutive days. Before and after the treatment sessions,a Visual Analog Pain Scale and the Bristol Stool Form Scale were used to evaluate gastrointestinal symptoms. There were four dropout cases,leaving 81 participants(41 with IBS-D and 40 with IBS-C) who volunteered to undergo colonoscopy before and after the treatment sessions. During colonoscopy,sigmoid mucosa were collected to detect SP and VIP expression using immunohistochemistry assay.RESULTS: Both EA and Mox treatments were effective at relieving abdominal pain in IBS-D and IBS-C patients. However,Mox was more effective at reducing diarrhea in IBS-D patients,whereas EA was more effective at improving constipation in IBS-C patients. | 2 | Topic enhanced deep structured semantic models for knowledge base question answering显示文摘Knowledge Base Question Answering(KBQA) is a hot research topic in natural language processing(NLP). The most challenging problem in KBQA is how to understand the semantic information of natural language questions and how to bridge the semantic gap between the natural language questions and the structured fact triples in knowledge base. This paper focuses on simple questions which can be answered by a single fact triple in knowledge base. We propose a topic enhanced deep structured semantic model for KBQA. The proposed method considers the task of KBQA as a matching problem between questions and the subjects and predicates in knowledge base. And the proposed model consists of two stages to match the subjects and predicates, respectively. In the first stage, we propose a Convolutional based Topic Entity Extraction Model(CTEEM) to extract topic entities mentioned in questions. With the extracted entities, we can retrieve the relevant candidate fact triples from knowledge base and obviously decrease the amount of noising candidates. In the second stage, we employ Deep Structured Semantic Models(DSSMs) to compute the semantic relevant score between questions and predicates in the candidates. And we combine the semantic level and the lexical level scores to rank the candidates. We evaluate the proposed method on KBQA dataset released by NLPCC-ICCPOL 2016. The experimental results show that our proposed method achieves the third place among the 21 submitted systems.Furthermore, we also extend the DSSM by using Bi LSTM and integrate a convolutional structure on the top of Bi LSTM layers. | 3 | A preliminary study on measurements of black carbon in the atmosphere of northwest Qilian Shan显示文摘Black carbon (BC) concentration and meteorological data are measured discontinuously from May 2009 to March 2011,at the Qilian Shan Station of Glaciology and Ecologic Environment (hereafter 'QSSGEE'),located near the terminal of the Laohugou No.12 Glacier in northwestern Qilian Shan,China.We measured the daily,monthly and seasonal variations of BC concentration in the atmosphere and discussed the possible emission sources.Black carbon background concentration in this region varied in the range of 18-72 ng/m 3 with the highest in summer and the lowest in autumn.The relations between BC concentration and surface wind direction indicated that BC concentration was higher when northwest wind prevails while lower when southeast wind prevails.Air masses backward trajectories showed the potential emission sources in the northwest.Significant positive correlations between daily mean BC concentration and relative humidity indicated that BC might be one of important cloud condensation nuclei.This hypothesis needs to be confirmed further through cloud microphysical features in this region. | Shuyu Zhao Jing Ming Cunde Xiao Weijun Sun Xiang Qin | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,1: | 9 |
| 4 | Fluid–solid coupling analysis of rock pillar stability for concealed karst cave ahead of a roadway based on catastrophic theory显示文摘In order to study the mechanism of water inrush from a concealed, confined karst cave, we established a fluid–solid coupling model of water inrush from a concealed karst cave ahead of a roadway and a strength reduction method in a rock pillar for preventing water inrush based on catastrophic theory. Fluid–solid coupling effects and safety margins in a rock pillar were studied. Analysis shows that rock pillar instability, exerted by disturbance stress and seepage stress, is the process of rock pillar catastrophic destabilization induced by nonlinear extension of plastic zones in the rock pillar. Seepage flow emerges in the rock pillar for preventing water inrush, accompanied by mechanical instability of the rock pillar. Taking the accident of a confined karst cave water-inrush of Qiyi Mine as an example, by studying the safety factor of the rock pillar and the relationship between karst cave water pressure and thickness of the rock pillar,it is proposed that rock pillar thickness with a safety factor equal to 1.5 is regarded as the calculated safety thickness of the rock pillar, which should be equal to the sum of the blasthole depth, blasting disturbance depth and the calculated safety thickness of the rock pillar. The cause of the karst water inrush at Qiyi Mine is that the rock pillar was so small that it did not possess a safety margin. | 7 | Characterising the nature, evolution and origin of detachment fault in central depression belt, Qiongdongnan Basin of South China Sea: evidence from seismic reflection data显示文摘Using regional geological, newly acquired 2D and 3D seismic, drilling and well log data, especially 2D long cable seismic profiles, the structure and stratigraphy in the deep-water area of Qiongdongnan Basin are interpreted. The geometry of No.2 fault system is also re-defined, which is an important fault in the central depression belt of the deep-water area in the Qiongdongnan Basin by employing the quantitative analysis techniques of fault activity and backstripping. Furthermore, the dynamical evolution of the No.2 fault system and its controls on the central depression belt are analyzed. This study indicates that the Qiongdongnan Basin was strongly influenced by the NW-trending tensile stress field during the Late Eocene. At this time, No.2 fault system initiated and was characterized by several discontinuous fault segments, which controlled a series small NE-trending fault basins. During the Oligocene, the regional extensional stress field changed from NW-SE to SN with the oceanic spreading of South China Sea, the early small faults started to grow along their strikes, eventually connected and merged as the listric shape of the No.2 fault system as observed today. No.2 fault detaches along the crustal Moho surface in the deep domain of the seismic profiles as a large-scale detachment fault. A large-scale rollover anticline formed in hanging wall of the detachment fault. There are a series of small fault basins in both limbs of the rollover anticline, showing that the early small basins were involved into fold deformation of the rollover anticline. Structurally, from west to east, the central depression belt is characterized by alternatively arranged graben and half-graben. The central depression belt of the Qiongdongnan Basin lies at the extension zone of the tip of the V-shaped northwestern ocean sub-basin of the South China Sea, its activity period is the same as the development period of the northwestern ocean sub-basin, furthermore the emplacement and eruption of magma that originated from the mantle below the Moho surface occurred at the region between Songnan-Baodao and Changchang sags, from east to west with the early-stage spreading of the South China Sea. | 8 | White Matter Deficits Underlying the Impaired Consciousness Level in Patients with Disorders of Consciousness显示文摘In this study, we aimed to(1) identify white matter(WM) deficits underlying the consciousness level in patients with disorders of consciousness(DOCs) using diffusion tensor imaging(DTI), and(2) evaluate the relationship between DTI metrics and clinical measures of the consciousness level in DOC patients. With a cohort of 8 comatose, 8 unresponsive wakefulness syndrome/vegetative state, and 14 minimally conscious state patients and 25 patient controls, we performed group comparisons of the DTI metrics in 48 core WM regions of interest(ROIs), and examined the clinical relevance using correlation analysis. We identified multiple abnormal WM ROIs in DOC patients compared with normal controls, and the DTI metrics in these ROIs were significantly correlated with clinical measures of the consciousness level. The size distribution of SOA particles was measured using aerodynamic particle sizer spectrometer. The effects of illumination intensity and light application time on SOA formation for α-pinene were evaluated. Experimental results show that the concentration of SOA particles increased significantly with an increasing of illumination intensity, and the light application time, the concentration, and the size of SOA particles were also increased. In addition, the factors influencing the formation of SOA were discussed. | 11 | Preparation of Clay/Biochar Composite Adsorption Particle and Performance for Ammonia Nitrogen Removal from Aqueous Solution显示文摘This study aimed to present a novel clay/biochar composite adsorption particle, which made from abandoned reed straw and clay to remove ammonia nitrogen(NH4^+-N) from micro-contaminated water. The removal performance of NH4^+-N by composite adsorption particle was monitored under different raw material proportions and initial NH4^+-N concentration. Besides, adsorption kinetics and adsorption isotherms were investigated to reveal the adsorption mechanisms. The results showed that NH4^+-N was effectively removed under optimal proportion of biochar, foaming agent and crosslinker with 20%, 3%, and 3%, respectively. The optimal contact time was 150 min and the best removal efficiency was 88.6% at initial NH4^+-N concentration of 20 mg L^-1. The adsorption performance was well described by the second order kinetic model and Freundlich model. | 13 | Characteristics of deformation and stress distribution of small coa pillars under leading abutment pressure显示文摘Based on the engineering project on a small coal pillar of 12,521 working face roadway in Xieqiao Coalmine, data regarding surface displacements of the coal pillar, deep displacements and mining stress have been collected and analyzed. The results show that macroscopic transverse fractures of the inner coal pillar are developed within 2–4 m of the roadway surface, which is located outside the coal pillar anchorage zone. There is a displacement of 530 mm at the monitoring point in the 6 m deep zone of the pillar. Transfer of the fracture zone is found in a small coal pillar and the fractures within 3–4 m of the coal-rock zone from the roadway surface undergo propagation and closure of cracks which means this fracture zone is transferred from 3–4 m outside the roadway to only 2–3 m from the roadway surface. In the monitoring zone, vertical and horizontal stresses increase with a feature that shows that acceleration in the deep zone of the pillar is greater than that in the shallow zone. | 16 | cDNA cloning and expression of erythropoietin in the plateau zokor(Myospalax baileyi) from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau显示文摘All organisms respond to variation in their environments and manage environmental stress through metabolic adjustments.The plateau zokor(Myospalax baileyi) is an endemic and keystone subterranean rodent species that inhabits the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau between 2800 and 4200 m above sea level.It is a hypoxic-tolerant mammal with a high ratio of oxygen utilization that enables it to cope with its harsh surroundings.To explore the molecular mechanism of altitude acclimatization of the plateau zokor,we cloned the zokor erythropoietin(Epo) gene and used real-time PCR to compare Epo mRNA levels in zokors inhabiting 16 different altitudes.The full-length zokor Epo open reading frame was 579 bp that encoded a precursor peptide of 192 amino acids with a signal peptide of 26 residues.The Epo gene of the plateau zokor was 81%-95% homologous to that of human,mouse,rat,root vole and the Golan Heights blind mole rat,with the highest homology(95%) to species of the genus Spalax.Epo mRNA was detected mainly in the zokor kidney and spleen among 8 selected tissues.The level of Epo mRNA increased in the liver and kidney with increases in altitude.The increase in the kidney was 5 times that in the liver.Remarkably,expression of Epo mRNA in the kidney of zokors living at the highest altitude(4268 m) was 12-fold higher than that of zokors living at the lowest(2492 m) altitude.These findings provide essential information for understanding the possible role of Epo in adaptation to hypoxia in the plateau zokor. | WANG ZhenLong CHEN Yan YANG Jie CHEN WeiJun ZHANG YanMing ZHAO XinQuan | 2012 | Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,9: | 4 |
| 17 | Size distribution and chemical composition of secondary organic aerosol formed from Cl-initiated oxidation of toluene显示文摘Secondary organic aerosol (SOA) formed from Cl-initiated oxidation of toluene was investigated in a home-made smog chamber. The size distribution and chemical composition of SOA particles were measured using aerodynamic particle sizer spectrometer and the aerosol laser time-of-flight mass spectrometer (ALTOFMS), respectively. According to a large number of single aerosol diameter and mass spectra, the size distribution and chemical composition of SOA were obtained statistically. Experimental results showed that SOA particles created by Cl-initiated oxidation of toluene is predominantly in the form of fine particles, which have diameters less than 2.5 μm (i.e., PM2.5), and glyoxal, benzaldehyde, benzyl alcohol, benzoquinone, benzoic acid, benzyl hydroperoxide and benzyl methyl nitrate are the major products components in the SOA. | 18 | Effects of microtopography on spatial point pattern of forest stands on the semi-arid Loess Plateau,China显示文摘Microtopography may affect the distribution of forests through its effect on rain redistribution and soil water distribution on the semi-arid Loess Plateau,China.In this study,we investigated the characteristics of microtopography on two shady slopes(slope A,5 hm2,uniform slope;slope B,5 hm2,microtopography slope) and surveyed the height,the diameter at breast height and the location(x,y coordinates) of all selected individual trees(Robinia pseudoacacia Linn.,Pyrus betulifolia Bunge,Populus hopeiensis Hu & Chow,Armeniaca sibirica Lam.,Populus simonii Carr.and Ulmus pumila Linn.) on slope A and slope B in the watersheds of Wuqi county,Shaanxi province.Subsequently,the effects of microtopography on the spatial pattern of forest stands were analyzed using Ripley's K(r) function.The results showed that:(1) The maximal aggregation radiuses of the tree species on the uniform slope(slope A) were larger than 40 m,whereas those of the tree species on the microtopography slope(slope B) were smaller than 30 m.(2) On slope B,the spatial association of R.pseudoacacia with P.betulifolia,A.sibirica,P.simonii and U.pumila varied from being strongly negative to positive at microtopography scales.The spatial association of Populus hopeiensis Hu & Chow with U.pumila also varied from being strongly negative to positive at microtopography scales.However,there was no spatial association between P.betulifolia and P.hopeiensis,P.betulifolia and A.sibirica,P.betulifolia and P.simonii,P.betulifolia and U.pumila,P.hopeiensis and A.sibirica,P.hopeiensis and P.simonii,A.sibirica and P.simonii,A.sibirica and U.pumila,and P.simonii and U.pumila.On slope A,the spatial association between tree species were strongly negative.The results suggest that microtopography may shape tree distribution patterns on the semi-arid Loess Plateau. | WeiJun ZHAO Yan ZHANG QingKe ZHU Wei QIN ShuZhen PENG Ping LI YanMin ZHAO Huan MA Yu WANG | 2015 | Journal of Arid Land2015,7,3: | 3 |
