| 1 | Intelligent and connected vehicles: Current status and future perspectives显示文摘Intelligent connected vehicles(ICVs) are believed to change people's life in the near future by making the transportation safer,cleaner and more comfortable. Although many prototypes of ICVs have been developed to prove the concept of autonomous driving and the feasibility of improving traffic efficiency, there still exists a significant gap before achieving mass production of high-level ICVs. The objective of this study is to present an overview of both the state of the art and future perspectives of key technologies that are needed for future ICVs. It is a challenging task to review all related works and predict their future perspectives, especially for such a complex and interdisciplinary area of research. This article is organized to overview the ICV key technologies by answering three questions: what are the milestones in the history of ICVs; what are the electronic components needed for building an ICV platform; and what are the essential algorithms to enable intelligent driving? To answer the first question, the article has reviewed the history and the development milestones of ICVs. For the second question, the recent technology advances in electrical/electronic architecture, sensors, and actuators are presented. For the third question, the article focuses on the algorithms in decision making, as the perception and control algorithm are covered in the development of sensors and actuators. To achieve correct decision-making, there exist two different approaches: the principle-based approach and data-driven approach. The advantages and limitations of both approaches are explained and analyzed. Currently automotive engineers are concerned more with the vehicle platform technology, whereas the academic researchers prefer to focus on theoretical algorithms. | 3 | Effect of Bufei granule on stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: a randomized, double blinded, placebo-controlled, and multicenter clinical study显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To study the therapeutic effect Bufei granule, which is a traditional Chinese drug that can enhance the immune function of the lung, on patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).METHODS: This is a randomized, double blinded,placebo-controlled, and multicenter clinical study.Three medical centers in Tianjin, China, participated in the trial. A total of 140 patients with stable COPD were enrolled and randomized into two groups, with 70 patients in each. The treatment group was treated with Bufei granule, while the control group received Bufei placebo. The pharmacological treatment lasted for 12 weeks from the date of enrollment. Then, the indexes of patients were observed. Data were analyzed to study the effect of Bufei granule, with the frequency of acute exacerbation as the primary outcome. Traditional Chinese Medicine syndromes,Modified British Medical Research Council dyspnea scale score, St.George's respiratory questionnaire scores, pulmonary function, and serum inflammatory marker levels [including interleukin-6(IL-6), interleukin-8, tumor necrosis factor-α, and transformation growth factor-β1]were the secondary outcomes.RESULTS: During the 12-week treatment, treatment and control groups had no adverse reactions.The analysis of the indexes obtained from all patients showed that the therapeutic effect in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group because most of the similar probabilities of primary and secondary outcomes were less than 0.05,except for the level of IL-6.CONCLUSION: Bufei granule can treat patients with stable COPD by lowering the frequency of acute exacerbation, improving the quality of life,and alleviating the severity of inflammation. | Sijia Guo Zengtao Sun Enshun Liu Jihong Feng Min Fu Yuechuan Li Qi Wu | 2014 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2014,34,4: | 19 |
| 4 | Assessment of the GPM and TRMM Precipitation Products Using the Rain Gauge Network over the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Using high-quality hourly observations from national-level ground-based stations, the satellite-based rainfall products from both the Global Precipitation Measurement(GPM) Integrated Multisatellit E Retrievals for GPM(IMERG) and its predecessor, the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission(TRMM) Multi-satellite Precipitation Analysis(TMPA), are statistically evaluated over the Tibetan Plateau(TP), with an emphasis on the diurnal variation.The results indicate that:(1) the half-hourly IMERG rainfall product can explicitly describe the diurnal variation over the TP, but with discrepancies in the timing of the greatest precipitation intensity and an overestimation of the maximum rainfall intensity over the whole TP. In addition, the performance of IMERG on the hourly timescale, in terms of the correlation coefficient and relative bias, is different for regions with sea level height below or above 3500 m;(2) the IMERG products, having higher correlation and lower root-mean-square error, perform better than the TMPA products on the daily and monthly timescales; and(3) the detection ability of IMERG is superior to that of TMPA, as corroborated by a higher Hanssen and Kuipers score, a higher probability of detection, a lower false alarm ratio, and a lower bias. Compared to TMPA, the IMERG products ameliorate the overestimation across the TP. | 6 | Cancer incidence in Beijing, 2014显示文摘Objective: To analyze cancer incidence data in Beijing in 2014 and temporal trends for selected common cancers during 2005 and 2014.Methods: A total of 144 secondary and tertiary hospitals reported newly diagnosed cancer cases to Beijing Cancer Registry, which covers 13 million residents in Beijing. The cancer incidence rate was calculated in strata by cancer type, sex, age group and area. The population composition of China in 1982 and Segi's population structure were used to calculate age-standardized rates. Extensive procedures were used to assure the quality of the data.Results: The overall data quality indicators of the percentage of morphology verification(MV)(%), the percentage of death certificate-only(DCO)(%) and the mortality to incidence ratio(M/I) were 72.15%, 0.94% and0.54 respectively. A total of 45,300 new cancer cases were diagnosed in Beijing in 2014. The incidence rate was341.92/100,000(343.50/100,000 in males, 340.33/100,000 in females), and the age-standardized incidence rates by Chinese standard population(ASIRC) and by world standard population(ASIRW) were 143.48/100,000 and182.99/100,000, respectively. The cumulative incidence rate for cancer before 75 years was 20.61%. Cancers of lung, colorectum, liver, stomach and prostate were the top five common cancer types for males, while cancers of breast, lung, thyroid, colorectum and uterus were the top five common cancer types for females. The different patterns were also observed between rural and urban areas. Regarding temporal trends, the incidence of thyroid cancer has the fastest growth between 2005 and 2014. The incidence of liver cancer decreased, and stomach and esophageal cancer also decreased significantly for males in the last decade. Incidence rate for lung cancer was relatively stable during that period of time.Conclusions: With more than 45,000 new cases in Beijing in 2014, cancer remains an important public health problem. | 9 | Kinetic hydrate inhibitor performance of new copolymer poly(N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone-co-2-vinyl pyridine)s with TBAB显示文摘In oil and gas field, the application of kinetic hydrate inhibitors (KHIs) independently has remained problematic in high subcooling and high water-cut situation. One feasible method to resolve this problem is the combined use of KHIs and some synergists, which would enhance KHIs’ inhibitory effect on both hydrate nucleation and hydrate crystal growth. In this study, a novel kind of KHI copolymer poly(N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone-co-2-vinyl pyridine)s (HGs) is used in conjunction with TBAB to show its high performance on hydrate inhibition. The performance of HGs with different monomer ratios in structure II tetrahydrofuran (THF) hydrate is investigated using kinetic hydrate inhibitor evaluation apparatus by step-cooling method and isothermal cooling method. With the combined gas hydrate inhibitor at the concentration of 1.0 wt%, the induction time of 19 wt% THF solution could be prolonged to 8.5 h at a high subcooling of 6℃. | 10 | Comparison of different phosphate species adsorption by ferric and alum water treatment residuals显示文摘As safe byproducts of drinking water treatment processes,ferric and alum water treatment residuals(FARs) have the potential to be new phosphate(P) immobilization materials.In this study,batch experiments were conducted to investigate and compare the adsorption characteristics of three P species by FARs.The results showed that the kinetic processes of different P species' adsorption by FARs could be described by a pseudo second-order model.The ranking list of the initial adsorption rates with respect to different phosphates was pyrophosphate,phytate,orthophosphate,hexametaphosphate and glycerophosphate.Of the six models considered,the two-site Langmuir model most effectively described the adsorption characteristics of the various P species.Upon fitting the results,the maximum adsorption capacities were determined to be 40.24 mg/g for phytate,18.04 mg/g for pyrophosphate,17.14 mg/g for orthophosphate,15.86 mg/g for hexametaphosphate and 10.81 mg/g for glycerophosphate.In addition,the adsorption processes of the different P species were spontaneous endothermic processes and were favored at lower pH values.The pH dependency was found to be especially true for orthophosphate,where the adsorption capacity decreased by 1.22 mg/g with an increase in pH from 5 to 9.Fractionation of the adsorbed P species from the FARs demonstrated that Al-P and Fe-P were the dominating forms,constituting approximately 80%-90% of the total P fractions,which indicated that the adsorbed P species had a low leaching risk and could stably exist in the FARs.Therefore,the FARs could be effective in controlling pollution in water caused by different P species. | Sijia Gao Changhui Wang Yuansheng Pei | 2013 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,5: | 7 |
| 11 | Genome-wide variants of Eurasian facial shape differentiation and a prospective model of DNA based face prediction显示文摘It is a long-standing question as to which genes define the characteristic facial features among different ethnic groups. In this study, we use Uyghurs, an ancient admixed population to query the genetic bases why Europeans and Han Chinese look different. Facial traits were analyzed based on high-dense 3D facial images; numerous biometric spaces were examined for divergent facial features between European and Han Chinese, ranging from inter-landmark distances to dense shape geometrics. Genome-wide association studies(GWAS) were conducted on a discovery panel of Uyghurs. Six significant loci were identified, four of which, rs1868752, rs118078182, rs60159418 at or near UBASH3B, COL23A1, PCDH7 and rs17868256 were replicated in independent cohorts of Uyghurs or Southern Han Chinese. | 16 | Parallel selection of distinct Tof5 alleles drove the adaptation of cultivated and wild soybean to high latitudes显示文摘Photoperiod responsiveness is a key factor limiting the geographic distribution of cultivated soybean and its wild ancestor.In particular,the genetic basis of the adaptation in wild soybean remains poorly understood.In this study,by combining whole-genome resequencing and genome-wide association studies we identified a novel locus,Time of Flowering 5(Tof5),which promotes flowering and enhances adaptation to high latitudes in both wild and cultivated soybean.By genomic,genetic and transgenic analyses we showed that Tof5 en-codes a homolog of Arabidopsis thaliana FRUITFULL(FUL).Importantly,further analyses suggested that different alleles of Tof5 have undergone parallel selection.The Tof5H1 allele was strongly selected by humans after the early domestication of cultivated soybean,while Tof5H2 allele was naturally selected in wild soybean,and in each case facilitating adaptation to high latitudes.Moreover,we found that the key flowering repressor E1 suppresses the transcription of Tof5 by binding to its promoter.In turn,Tof5 physically associates with the promoters of two important FLOWERING LOCUS T(FT),FT2a and FT5a,to upregulate their transcription and promote flowering under long photoperiods.Collectively,ourfindings provide insights into how wild soybean adapted to high latitudes through natural selection and indicate that cultivated soybean underwent changes in the same gene but evolved a distinct allele that was artificially selected after domestication. | Lidong Dong Qun Cheng Chao Fang Lingping Kong Hui Yang Zhihong Hou Yongli Li Haiyang Nan Yuhang Zhang Qingshan Chen Chunbao Zhang Kun Kou Tong Su Lingshuang Wang Shichen Li Haiyang Li Xiaoya Lin Yang Tang Xiaohui Zhao Sijia Lu Baohui Liu Fanjiang Kong | 2022 | Molecular Plant2022,15,2: | 5 |
| 17 | New insights on the enhanced non-hydroxyl radical contribution under copper promoted TiO_(2)/GO for the photodegradation of tetracycline hydrochloride显示文摘TiO_(2)/graphene oxide(GO)as photocatalyst in the photo-degradation of multitudinous pollutants has been extensively studied.But its low photocatalytic efficiency is attributed to the high band gap energy which lead to low light utilization.Cu-TiO_(2)/GO was synthesized via the impregnation methods to enhance the catalytic performance.The Cu-TiO_(2)/GO reaction rate constant for photo-degradation of pollutants(tetracycline hydrochloride,TC)was about 1.4 times that of TiO_(2)/GO.In 90 min,the removal ratio of Cu-TiO_(2)/GO for TC was 98%,and the maximum degradation ratio occurred at p H 5.After five cycles,the removal ratio of Cu-Ti O_(2)/GO still exceeded 98%.UV-visible adsorption spectra of Cu-Ti O_(2)/GO showed that its band gap was narrower than TiO_(2)/GO.Electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)spectra test illustrated the generation rate of·O_(2)^(-)and·OH was higher in Cu-TiO_(2)/GO system than TiO_(2)/GO and TiO_(2) system.The contribution sequence of oxidative species was·O_(2)^(-)>holes(h+)>·OH in both TiO_(2)/GO and Cu-Ti O_(2)/GO system.Interestingly,the contribution of·OH in Cu-TiO_(2)/GO was less than that in TiO_(2)/GO during the photo-degradation process.This phenomenon was attributed to the better adsorption performance of Cu-Ti O_(2)/GO which could reduce the accessibility of TC to·OH in liquid.The enhanced non-hydroxyl radical contribution could be attributed to that the more other active species or sites on(nearby)the surface of Cu-TiO_(2)/GO generated after doping Cu.These results provide a new perspective for the tradition metal-doped conventional catalysts to enhance the removal of organic pollutants in the environment. | Sijia Qian Shengyan Pu Ying Zhang Peng Wang Yingchen Bai Bo Lai | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,2: | 4 |
| 18 | Double weight determination method for experts of complex multi-attribute large-group decision-making in interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy environment显示文摘The systematic clustering analysis based weight determination methods are suitable for the experts of complex multiattribute large-group decision-making(CMALGDM) in intervalvalued intuitionistic fuzzy environment. However, these methods mainly have two shortcomings: they do not consider the consistency of the experts in each aggregation; the aggregation weights are often determined simply by the 'majority principle', and neglect the quantity of information provided by the holistic aggregation,leading to decision biases. Hence, a double weight determination method for experts is proposed to solve these problems. As for the first shortcoming, a mathematical programming model is used to solve for the optimal expert weights within each aggregation,ensuring consistency in the overall preferences of the aggregations. As for the second shortcoming, we propose a modification of the aggregation weights based on the information entropy, which fully considers both the number of experts and the amount of information provided by the holistic aggregation. With the proposed method, the final expert weights are determined more rigorously and objectively. | 19 | Targeting TGFβ signal transduction for cancer therapy显示文摘Transforming growth factor-β(TGFβ) family members are structurally and functionally related cytokines that have diverse effects on the regulation of cell fate during embryonic development and in the maintenance of adult tissue homeostasis.Dysregulation of TGFβ family signaling can lead to a plethora of developmental disorders and diseases,including cancer,immune dysfunction,and fbrosis.In this review,we focus on TGFβ,a well-characterized family member that has a dichotomous role in cancer progression,acting in early stages as a tumor suppressor and in late stages as a tumor promoter.The functions of TGFβ are not limited to the regulation of proliferation,differentiation,apoptosis,epithelial-mesenchymal transition,and metastasis of cancer cells.Recent reports have related TGFβ to effects on cells that are present in the tumor microenvironment through the stimulation of extracellular matrix deposition,promotion of angiogenesis,and suppression of the ant-tumor immune reaction.The pro-oncogenic roles of TGFβ have attracted considerable attention because their intervention provides a therapeutic approach for cancer patients.However,the critical function of TGFβin maintaining tissue homeostasis makes targeting TGFβa challenge.Here,we review the pleiotropic functions of TGFβin cancer initiation and progression,summarize the recent clinical advancements regarding TGFβ signaling interventions for cancer treatment,and discuss the remaining challenges and opportunities related to targeting this pathway.We provide a perspective on synergistic therapies that combine anti-TGFβ therapy with cytotoxic chemotherapy,targeted therapy,radiotherapy,or immunotherapy. | Sijia Liu Jiang Ren Peter ten Dijke | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,2: | 4 |
| 20 | Telomere-to-telomere and gap-free reference genome assembly of the kiwifruit Actinidia chinensis显示文摘Kiwifruit is an economically and nutritionally important fruit crop with extremely high contents of vitamin C.However,the previously released versions of kiwifruit genomes all have a mass of unanchored or missing regions.Here,we report a highly continuous and completely gap-free reference genome of Actinidia chinensis cv.‘Hongyang’,named Hongyang v4.0,which is the first to achieve two de novo haploid-resolved haplotypes,HY4P and HY4A.HY4P and HY4A have a total length of 606.1 and 599.6 Mb,respectively,with almost the entire telomeres and centromeres assembled in each haplotype.In comparison with Hongyang v3.0,the integrity and contiguity of Hongyang v4.0 is markedly improved by filling all unclosed gaps and correcting some misoriented regions,resulting in∼38.6–39.5 Mb extra sequences,which might affect 4263 and 4244 protein-coding genes in HY4P and HY4A,respectively.Furthermore,our gap-free genome assembly provides the first clue for inspecting the structure and function of centromeres.Globally,centromeric regions are characterized by higher-order repeats that mainly consist of a 153-bp conserved centromere-specific monomer(Ach-CEN153)with different copy numbers among chromosomes.Functional enrichment analysis of the genes located within centromeric regions demonstrates that chromosome centromeres may not only play physical roles for linking a pair of sister chromatids,but also have genetic features for participation in the regulation of cell division.The availability of the telomere-to-telomere and gap-free Hongyang v4.0 reference genome lays a solid foundation not only for illustrating genome structure and functional genomics studies but also for facilitating kiwifruit breeding and improvement. | Junyang Yue Qinyao Chen Yingzhen Wang Lei Zhang Chen Ye Xu Wang Shuo Cao Yunzhi Lin Wei Huang He Xian Hongyan Qin Yanli Wang Sijia Zhang Ying Wu Songhu Wang Yi Yue Yongsheng Liu | 2023 | Horticulture Research2023,10,2: | 4 |
