| 2 | H_(2)O_(2) actuated molybdenum oxide nanodots:Multi-enzyme-like activities, leverage of Fenton reaction, and dual-mode sensitive detection of alendronate sodium显示文摘Unexpected benefits to the catalytic performance of materials often originate from the presence of surface defects. Here, novel Dpenicillamine modified molybdenum oxide nanodots, with abundant oxygen vacancy defects, were fabrication by a mild, simple, and cost-effective method.Ultraviolet–visible(UV–Vis)absorption spectra analysis showed that the nanodots had peroxidaselike and catalase-like activities. The reactive oxygen species were probed by electronic paramagnetic resonance technique and spectroscopic methods, demonstrating that the nanodots also had oxidase-like activity.Interestingly, the peroxidase-like activity of nanodots was synergistically enhanced in the presence of ferrous ions or ferric ions.Remarkably, less than nanomolar levels of ferrous ions were required to display this phenomenon, meaning Fenton reagent acted as leverage.Based on this,a sensitive colorimetric and fluorescent dual-mode sensor for alendronate sodium was developed. The linear ranges for colorimetric and fluorescence analysis were 0.2–2.5 and 0.2–2.0μM,with detection limits of 31.21 and 71.84 nM,correspondingly. The method has a simple large-scale material preparation process with higher sensitivity and shorter reaction time, which can inspire and enlighten the design of nanozyme sensors. | Siqi Wang Yao Jin Wenhui Ai Xiufeng Wang Zhiqing Zhang Ting Zhou Guodong Zhang Fang Wang | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,10: | 1 |
| 3 | Association Between Ambient Temperature and Years of Life Lost from Stroke—30 PLADs,China,2013–2016显示文摘What is already known about this topic?Previous studies have mainly focused on the relationship between temperature and mortality from stroke, but analysis on the effects on years of life lost(YLL)is limited. What is added by this report?YLLs were used as the health outcome, and cold and hot weather were found to be significantly associated with an increase in YLLs from stroke and for different groups, with a stronger effect found to be associated with low temperature. What are the implications for public health practice? These findings could help identify vulnerable regions and populations that have a more serious temperaturerelated burden and to guide the practical and effective measures for stroke control from a YLL perspective. | Jinlei Qi Fei Tian Siqi Ai Peng Yin Maigeng Zhou Lijun Wang Hualiang Lin | 2021 | China CDC weekly2021,3,23: | 1 |
| 4 | Health benefits from the rapid reduction in ambient exposure to air pollutants after China’s clean air actions:progress in efficacy and geographic equality显示文摘Clean air actions(CAAs)in China have been linked to considerable benefits in public health. However, whether the beneficial effects of CAAs are equally distributed geographically is unknown.Using high-resolution maps of the distributions of major air pollutants(fine particulate matter[PM_(2.5)]and ozone[O_(3)])and population,we aimed to track spatiotemporal changes in health impacts from, and geographic inequality embedded in,the reduced exposures to PM_(2.5)and O_(3)from 2013 to 2020.We used a method established by the Global Burden of Diseases Study.By analyzing the changes in loss of life expectancy(LLE)attributable to PM_(2.5)and O_(3),we calculated the gain of life expectancy(GLE)to quantify the health benefits of the air-quality improvement. Finally,we assessed the geographic inequality embedded in the GLE using the Gini index(GI).Based on risk assessments of PM_(2.5)and O_(3),during the first stage of CAAs(2013 to 2017),the mean GLE was 1.87 months.Half of the sum of the GLE was disproportionally distributed in about one quarter of the population exposed(GI 0.44).During the second stage of CAAs(2017 to 2020),the mean GLE increased to 3.94 months and geographic inequality decreased(GI 0.18).According to our assessments,CAAs were enhanced, from the first to second stages,in terms of not only preventing premature mortality but also ameliorating health inequalities. The enhancements were related to increased sensitivity to the health effects of air pollution and synergic control of PM_(2.5)and O_(3)levels.Our findings will contribute to optimizing future CAAs. | Tao Xue Ruohan Wang Meng Wang Yanying Wang Dan Tong Xia Meng Conghong Huang Siqi Ai Fangzhou Li Jingyuan Cao Mingkun Tong Xueqiu Ni Hengyi Liu Jianyu Deng Hong Lu Wei Wan Jicheng Gong Shiqiu Zhang Tong Zhu | 2024 | National Science Review2024,11,2: | 0 |
| 5 | Predictive Model and Risk Factors for Case Fatality of COVID-19: A Cohort of 21,392 Cases in Hubei, China显示文摘An increasing number of patients are being killed by coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),however,risk factors for the fatality of COVID-19 remain unclear.A total of 21,392 COVID-19 cases were recruited in the Hubei Province of China between December 2019 and February 2020,and followed up until March 18,2020.We adopted Cox regression models to investigate the risk factors for case fatality and predicted the death probability under specific combinations of key predictors.Among the 21,392 patients,1,020(4.77%)died of COVID-19.Multivariable analyses showed that factors, including age(R60 versus<45 years, hazard ratio[HR]=7.32;95%confidence interval[CI],5.42,9.89),sex(male versus female,HR=1.31;95%CI,1.15,1.50),severity of the disease(critical versus mild,HR=39.98;95%CI,29.52,48.86),comorbidity(HR=1.40;95%CI,1.23,1.60),highest body temperature(>39C versus<39C,HR=1.28;95%CI,1.09,1.49),white blood cell counts(>103109/L versus(4–10)3109/L,HR=1.69;95%CI,1.35,2.13),and lymphocyte counts(<0.83109/L versus(0.8–4)3109/L,HR=1.26;95%CI,1.06,1.50)were significantly associated with case fatality of COVID-19 patients.Individuals of an older age,who were male, with comorbidities, and had a critical illness had the highest death probability, with 21%,36%,46%,and 54%within 1–4 weeks after the symptom onset.Risk factors, including demographic characteristics, clinical symptoms, and laboratory factors were confirmed to be important determinants of fatality of COVID-19.Our predictive model can provide scientific evidence for a more rational,evidence-driven allocation of scarce medical resources to reduce the fatality of COVID-19. | Ran Wu Siqi Ai Jing Cai Shiyu Zhang Zhengmin(Min)Qian Yunquan Zhang Yinglin Wu Lan Chen Fei Tian Huan Li Mingyan Li Hualiang Lin | 2020 | The Innovation2020,1,2: | 0 |
