| 1 | A complete sequence and comparative analysis of a SARS-associated virus(Isolate BJ01)显示文摘The genome sequence of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)-associated virus provides essential information for the identification of pathogen(s), exploration of etiology and evolution, interpretation of transmission and pathogenesis, development of diagnostics, prevention by future vaccination, and treatment by developing new drugs. We report the complete genome sequence and comparative analysis of an isolate (BJ01) of the coronavirus that has been recognized as a pathogen for SARS. The genome is 29725 nt in size and has 11 ORFs (Open Reading Frames). It is composed of a stable region encoding an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (composed of 2 ORFs) and a variable region representing 4 CDSs (coding sequences) for viral structural genes (the S, E, M, N proteins) and 5 PUPs (putative uncharacterized proteins). Its gene order is identical to that of other known coronaviruses. The sequence alignment with all known RNA viruses places this virus as a member in the family of Coronaviridae. Thirty putative substitutions have been identified by comparative analysis of the 5 SARS- associated virus genome sequences in GenBank. Fifteen of them lead to possible amino acid changes (non-synonymous mutations) in the proteins. Three amino acid changes, with predicted alteration of physical and chemical features, have been detected in the S protein that is postulated to beinvolved in the immunoreactions between the virus and its host. Two amino acid changes have been detected in the Mprotein, which could be related to viral envelope formation. Phylogenetic analysis suggests the possibility of non-human origin of the SARS-associated viruses but provides noevidence that they are man-made. | 4 | A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. | 6 | Upwelling of Mantle-derived Material in Southeast China:Evidence from Noble Gas Isotopes显示文摘Shallow groundwater collected in Chaozhou,Huizhou,and Guangzhou allowed testing of concentrations and the isotope ratios of noble gases.Based on the calculated noble gas temperature(NGT)and the ratio of noble gas isotopes,the recharge temperature,recharge source,and residence time of groundwater can be calculated.In addition,the contribution of noble gas components from different sources to the sample components can be assessed.In the Huizhou area,according to the 1/Xe vs.Ne/Xe and NGT data,the shallow sandstone-confined water samples in the Shiba area and the unconfined water samples of the Huangshadong are in different temperature ranges,indicating that they have different recharge sources,both in time or space.The He components in the samples are calculated to obtain the content of radiogenic ^(4)He in the crust and to simulate the groundwater ages.The noble gas isotope ratios show the addition of mantle components into the basalt aquifers and sandstone aquifers in Chaozhou and Huizhou.Except for atmospheric and crustal sources,there is a certain proportion of mantle-derived components in the shallow underground cold water in Huizhou and Chaozhou.The noble gases in the Chaozhou groundwater have an obvious mantle signature,allowing speculation that there is a deep fluid carrying mantle characteristics.This upwelling of mantle-derived material might be caused by the India-Eurasia collision or that between the Philippine Sea Plate and the Eurasian Plate. | WANG Shuai KUANG Jian HUANG Xuelian ZHANG Hongyan ZHANG Min QI Shihua HAN Yongjie XIAO Zhicai WANG Siqi TANG Ling | 2022 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2022,96,1: | 2 |
| 7 | Electrostatic self-assembly of CdS nanowires-nitrogen doped graphene nanocomposites for enhanced visible light photocatalysis显示文摘CdS nanowires-nitrogen doped graphene(CdS NWs-NGR) nanocomposites have been fabricated by an electrostatic self-assembly strategy followed by a hydrothermal reduction. The CdS NWs-NGR exhibits higher photoactivity for selective reduction of aromatic nitro organics in water under visible light irradiation than blank CdS nanowires(CdS NWs) and CdS nanowires-reduced graphene oxide(CdS NWs-RGO)nanocomposites. | 10 | One-step calcination synthesis of interface-coherent crystallized and surface-passivated LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4) for high-voltage lithium-ion battery显示文摘LiNi_(0.5)Mn1.5O_(4)(LNMO)with a spinel crystal structure presents a compelling avenue towards the development of economic cobalt-free and high voltage(~5 V)lithium-ion batteries.Nevertheless,the elevated operational voltage of LNMO gives rise to pronounced interfacial interactions between the distorted surface lattices characterized by Jahn-Teller(J-T)distortions and the electrolyte constituents.Herein,a localized crystallized coherent LaNiO_(3) and surface passivated Li_(3)PO_(4) layer is deposited on LNMO via a one-step calcination process.As evidenced by transmission electron microscopy(TEM),time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry(ToF-SIMS)and density functional theory(DFT)calculation,the epitaxial growth of LaNiO_(3) along the LNMO lattice can effectively stabilize the structure and inhibit irreversible phase transitions,and the Li_(3)PO_(4) surface coating can prevent the chemical reaction between HF and transition metals without sacrificing the electrochemical activity.In addition,the ionic conductive Li_(3)PO_(4) and atomic wetting inter-layer enables fast charge transfer transport property.Consequently,the LNMO material enabled by the lattice bonding and surface passivating features,demonstrates high performance at high current densities and good capacity retention during long-term test.The rational design of interface coherent engineering and surface coating layers of the LNMO cathode material offers a new perspective for the practical application of high-voltage lithium-ion batteries. | Min Xu Bifu Sheng Yong Cheng Junjie Lu Minfeng Chen Peng Wang Bo Liu Jizhang Chen Xiang Han Ming-Sheng Wang Siqi Shi | 2024 | Nano Research2024,17,5: | 0 |

| 17 | Interfacial nitrogen engineering of robust silicon/MXene anode toward high energy solid-state lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Replacing the conventional carbonate electrolyte by solid-state electrolyte (SSE) will offer improved safety for lithium-ion batteries.To further improve the energy density,Silicon (Si) is attractive for next generation solid-state battery (SSB) because of its high specific capacity and low cost.High energy density and safe Si-based SSB,however,is plagued by large volume change that leads to poor mechanical stability and slow lithium ions transportation at the multiple interfaces between Si and SSE.Herein,we designed a self-integrated and monolithic Si/two dimensional layered T_(3)C_(2)T_(x)(MXene,T_(x) stands for terminal functional groups) electrode architecture with interfacial nitrogen engineering.During a heat treatment process,the polyacrylonitrile not only converts into amorphous carbon (a-C) that shells Si but also forms robust interfacial nitrogen chemical bonds that anchors Si and MXene.During repeated lithiation and delithiation processes,the robust interfacial engineered Si/MXene configuration enhances the mechanical adhesion between Si and MXene that improves the structure stability but also contributes to form stable solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI).In addition,the N-MXene provides fast lithium ions transportation pathways.Consequently,the Si/MXene with interfacial nitrogen engineering (denoted as Si-N-MXene) deliveres high-rate performance with a specific capacity of 1498 m Ah g^(-1) at a high current of 6.4 A g^(-1).A Si-N-MXene/NMC full cell exhibited a capacity retention of 80.5%after 200 cycles.The Si-N-MXene electrode is also applied to SSB and shows a relative stable cycling over 100 cycles,demonstrating the versatility of this concept. | Xiang Han Weijun Zhou Minfeng Chen Jizhang Chen Guanwen Wang Bo Liu Linshan Luo Songyan Chen Qiaobao Zhang Siqi Shi Ching-Ping Wong | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,4: | 0 |
| 18 | Metformin ameliorates HMGB1-mediated oxidative stress through mTOR pathway in experimental periodontitis显示文摘Periodontitis is an oral chronic inflammatory disease.Inhibiting tissue destruction and promoting tissue regeneration are important means for the treatment of periodontitis.Metformin not only has hypoglycemic effect but also has anti-inflammatory effect.Metformin has been shown to inhibit oxidative stress and activate autophagy through AMPK/mTOR pathway.High mobility group box 1(HMGB1)has been implicated in the pathogenesis of many inflammatory diseases including periodontitis,it can participate in the induction of oxidative stress.HMGB1 is an autophagy regulator under oxidative stress,which can activate mTOR pathway.However,it is not clear whether metformin is related to HMGB1 and its mechanism in the process of periodontitis.Cell viability and expression of inflammatory cytokines were clarified by Cell Counting Kit-8,real-time PCR and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Western blot and immunofluorescence were conducted to determine HMGB1 intracellular localization and expression of autophagy-associated proteins in vitro.Experimental periodontitis mice model was induced by administering a ligature.Immunohistochemistry was performed to detect the expression and localization of HMGB1 in vivo.The results of CCK-8,real-time PCR,enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,Western blot and immunofluorescence showed lipopolysaccharide(LPS)treatment inhibited cell viability,and increased HMGB1 expression at a dose-independent manner.Metformin can reduce the effect of LPS.It also improves autophagy pathway inhibited by LPS and down-regulates mTOR expression.In addition,metformin attenuated alveolar bone resorption induced by ligation.This study provides new evidence for that metformin is a potential drug for the treatment of periodontitis and HMGB1 may be a potential target for periodontal intervention. | Boyang Sun Siqi Ying Qian Ma Han Li Jie Li Jinlin Song | 2023 | Genes & Diseases2023,10,2: | 0 |

| 20 | A Modeling Method for Predicting the Strength of Cemented Paste Backfill Based on a Combination of Aggregate Gradation Optimization and LSTM显示文摘Cemented paste backill(CPB)is a susta inable mining technology that is widely used in mines and helps to improve the mine environment.To investigate the relationship between aggregate grading and different affecting factors and the uniaxial compressive strength(UCS)of the cemented paste backill(CPB),Talbol gradation theory and neural networks is used to evaluate aggregate gradation to determine the optimum aggregate ratio.The mixed aggregate ratio with the least amount of cement(waste stone content river sand content=7:3)is obtained by using Talbol grading theory and pile compactness function and combined with experiments.In addition,the response surface method is used to design strength speaific ratio experiments.The UCS prediction model which ues the ISTM and considers the aggregates gradation have high accuracy.The root mean square error(RMSE)of the prediction results is 0.0914,the coefficient of determination(R^(2))is 0.9973 and the variance account for(VAF)is 99.73.Compared with back propagation neural network(BP-ANN),extreme lea ming machine(ELM)and madal basis function neural network(RBF ANN),LSTM can efectively characterize the nonlinear relationship between UCS and individual affecting factors and predict UCS with high accuracy.The sensitivity analysis of different affecting factors on UCS shows that all 4 factors have significant effect on UCS and sensitivity is in the following ranking:cement content(0.9264)>slurry concentration(0.9179)>aggregate gradation(waste rodk content)(0.9031)>curing time(09031). | Bo Zhang Keqing Li Siqi Zhang Yafei Hu Bin Han | 2022 | Journal of Renewable Materials2022,10,12: | 0 |
