3Bloodletting at Jing-well points decreases interstitial fluid flow in the thalamus of rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the changes in the neuronal microenvironment of the middle cerebral artery(MCA) territory induced by Jing-well points bloodletting acupuncture(WPBA) and to explore the neuroprotective mechanism of WPBA in stroke.METHODS: Adult male Sprague Dawley(n = 32)rats were randomly divided into four groups of eight animals each: WPBA-thalamus group(WT),WPBA-caudate nucleus group(WC), sham-control thalamus group(ST) and sham-control caudate nucleus group(SC). Animals in the WT and WC groups received 2 μL of the extracellular tracer gadolinium-diethylene triamine pentaacetic acid(Gd-DTPA)injected into the thalamus or caudate nucleus, respectively, and 12 Jing-well points in the distal ends of the rats' digits were used for WPBA. Although 2 μL of Gd-DTPA was injected into the thalamus or caudate nucleus, respectively, for animals in the two sham groups(ST and SC), no acupuncture or bloodletting was performed. Brain extracellular space and interstitial fluid flow parameters were measured using Gd-DTPA-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging.RESULTS: The brain interstitial fluid flow speed was decreased in the thalamus after WPBA, with a significantly lower Gd-DTPA clearance rate and longer half-life of Gd-DTPA in the thalamus of treated rats than those in sham-control rats [WPBA-treated rats' clearance rate,(7.47 ± 3.15) × 10^(-5)/s(P = 0.009);half-life,(1.52 ± 0.13) h, P = 0.000]. By contrast, no significant changes in brain extracellular space and interstitial fluid flow parameters were detected in the caudate nucleus after WPBA(P = 0.649). 4Electroacupuncture relieves irritable bowel syndrome by increasing expression of nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain protein-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 6 in water-avoidance stress mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) on irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) in mice through regulating nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain protein-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 6(NLRP6).METHODS: Water-avoidance stress(WAS) mice model was used to investigate the effects and the mechanism of EA. Abdominal withdrawal reflex test, open field test, and intestinal motility test were used to evaluate visceral sensitivity, anxiety,and intestinal motility in mice. The expressions of NLRP6, Mucin-2(MUC2) and E-cadherin were determined using immunofluorescence and Western blotting assays.RESULTS: EA significantly upregulated the expression of NLRP6 in the intestine of mice. 5The ER membrane protein complex subunit Emc3 controls angiogenesis via the FZD4/WNT signaling axis显示文摘The endoplasmic reticulum(ER) membrane protein complex(EMC) regulates the synthesis and quality control of membrane proteins with multiple transmembrane domains. One of the membrane spanning subunits, EMC3, is a core member of the EMC complex that provides essential hydrophilic vestibule for substrate insertion. Here, we show that the EMC subunit Emc3 plays critical roles in the retinal vascular angiogenesis by regulating Norrin/Wnt signaling. Postnatal endothelial cell(EC)-specific deletion of Emc3 led to retarded retinal vascular development with a hyperpruned vascular network, the appearance of bluntended, aneurysm-like tip endothelial cells(ECs) with reduced numbers of filopodia and leakage of erythrocytes at the vascular front. Diminished tube formation and cell proliferation were also observed in EMC3 depleted human retinal endothelial cells(HRECs). We then discovered a critical role for EMC3 in expression of FZD4 receptor of β-catenin signaling using RNA sequencing, real-time quantitative PCR(RT-q PCR) and luciferase reporter assay. Moreover, augmentation of Wnt activity via lithium chloride(Li Cl) treatment remarkably enhanced β-catenin signaling and cell proliferation of HRECs. Additionally, Li Cl partially reversed the angiogenesis defects in Emc3-c KO mice. 8Current influence of China’s ban on plastic waste imports显示文摘The current global production of plastics is over 300 million tons,20%of which is produced in China.It has been estimated that about 90%of the discarded plastics are not recycled.China was the world’s leading importer of waste plastics,while since January 1,2018,China’s import ban on waste plastics has been put into force,which has had a far-reaching effect on global plastic production and solid waste management.Southeast Asian countries like Malaysia have replaced China as the leading importer of plastic wastes.As the main exporter of waste plastics,EU has released strategy and initiative about plastics to restrict the use of micro plastics and single-use plastics.Meanwhile main European counties like UK,German and France have also taken own active measures to realize the control of packaging waste and non-recycled plastic and the recycling of plastic wastes in several years.As For the US,some areas such as Seattle and San Francisco have positively responded to the global trend of plastic ban.However,the controversy over“plastic restriction”in the whole state obstructed the promulgation and implementation of the national plastic ban.On the whole,major companies and more than 60 countries all over the world have introduced levies or bans to combat single-use plastic wastes.The Chinese government began to rectify the domestic waste plastics market and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China has clarified the threshold of waste plastic treatment capacity for key enterprises.In addition to landfill,direct recovery and waste to energy processes are the main disposal methods of waste plastics.Thermoplastics like PE,PP and PET that are sorted out from the waste stream by citizens can be directly recycled to the primary material.The mixed waste plastics can be used as fuel in waste to energy plants,or as feedstock to pyrolysis plants that transform them to high value-added oil or chemical materials,which are more promising disposal methods of waste plastics.Wanli Wang Nickolas J.Themelis Kai Sun Athanasios C.Bourtsalas Qunxing Huang Yunhe Zhang Zhaohui Wu 2019Waste Disposal and Sustainable Energy2019,1,1:1

11Highly stable and repeatable femtosecond soliton pulse generation from saturable absorbers based on twodimensional Cu3-xP nanocrystals显示文摘Heavily doped colloidal plasmonic nanocrystals have attracted great attention because of their lower and adjustable free carrier densities and tunable localized surface plasmonic resonance bands in the spectral range from near-infra to mid-infra wavelengths.With its plasmon-enhanced optical nonlinearity,this new family of plasmonic materials shows a huge potential for nonlinear optical applications,such as ultrafast switching,nonlinear sensing,and pulse laser generation.Cu3-xP nanocrystals were previously shown to have a strong saturable absorption at the plasmonic resonance,which enabled high-energy Q-switched fiber lasers with 6.1μs pulse duration.This work demonstrates that both high-quality mode-locked and Q-switched pulses at 1560 nm can be generated by evanescently incorporating two-dimensional(2D)Cu3-xP nanocrystals onto a D-shaped optical fiber as an effective saturable absorber.The 3 dB bandwidth of the mode-locking optical spectrum is as broad as 7.3 nm,and the corresponding pulse duration can reach 423 fs.The repetition rate of the Q-switching pulses is higher than 80 kHz.Moreover,the largest pulse energy is more than 120μJ.Note that laser characteristics are highly stable and repeatable based on the results of over 20 devices.This work may trigger further investigations on heavily doped plasmonic 2D nanocrystals as a next-generation,inexpensive,and solution-processed element for fascinating photonics and optoelectronics applications.Haoran MU Zeke LIU Xiaozhi BAO Zhichen WAN Guanyu LIU Xiangping LI Huaiyu SHAO Guichuan XING Babar SHABBIR Lei LI Tian SUN Shaojuan LI Wanli MA Qiaoliang BAO 2020Frontiers of Optoelectronics2020,13,2:1
12Developing in situ electron paramagnetic resonance characterization for understanding electron transfer of rechargeable batteries显示文摘Electrochemical energy storage devices are pivotal in achieving“carbon neutrality”by enabling the storage of energy generated from renewable sources.To facilitate the development of these devices,it is important to gain insight into the underlying the single-/multi-electron transfer process.This can be achieved through in-time detection under operational conditions,but there are limited tools available for monitoring electron transfer under operando conditions.Electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)is a powerful technique that can meet these expectations,as it is highly sensitive to unpaired electrons and can detect changes of paramagnetic centres.Despite the long history of in situ electrochemical EPR research,its potential has been surprisingly underutilized due to the need for strict operando cell design under special testing conditions.This review comprehensively summarizes recent efforts to understand energy storage mechanisms using in situ/operando EPR,with the aim of drawing researchers’attention to this powerful technique.After introducing the fundamental principles of EPR,we describe the critical advances made in detecting batteries using operando EPR,along with the remaining challenges and opportunities for future development of this technology in batteries.We emphasize the need for strict operando cell design and the importance of designing experiments that closely mimic real-world conditions.We believe that this review will provide innovative solutions to solve tough problems that researchers may encounter during their battery research,and ultimately contribute to the development of more efficient and sustainable energy storage devices.Bin Wang Wanli Wang Kang Sun Yujie Xu Yi Sun Qiang Li Han Hu Mingbo Wu 2023Nano Research2023,16,10:1

17Thermal Biology of Cold-climate Distributed Heilongjiang Grass Lizard,Takydromus amurensis显示文摘Thermal biology traits reflect thermal adaptations to an environment and can be used to infer responses to climate warming in animal species.Within a widespread genus or species,assessing the latitudinal or altitudinal gradient of thermal physiological traits is essential to reveal thermal adaptations and determine future vulnerability to climate warming geographically.We determined the thermal biology traits of a cold-climate distributed lizard,Takydromus amurensis,and integrated published thermal biology traits within the genus Takydromus to reveal a preliminary geographical pattern in thermal adaptation.The mean selected body temperature(cloaca temperature;T_(sel)),critical thermal maximum(CT_(max)),critical thermal minimum(CT_(min)),and optimal temperature for locomotion(i.e.,sprint speed;T_(opt)) of T.amurensis were 32.6,45.1,3.1,and 33.4℃,respectively.The resting metabolic rates of T.amurensis were po sitively related to temperature from 18℃ to 38℃.We compared the traits of tropical T.sexlineatus,subtropical T.septentrionalis,and T.wolteri with T.amurensis and found that the CT_(max) and thermal tolerance range(the difference between CT_(max) and CT_(min);TTR) increased toward high latitudes,whereas CT_(min) increased toward low latitudes in these four Takydromus lizards.According to this preliminary pattern,we speculate the species at medium and low latitudes would be more vulnerable to extreme heat events caused by ongoing climate warming.We highlight the importance of integrating thermal biology traits along geographical clues,and its potential contribution to evaluate the vulnerabilities of species in the context of climate warming.Xin HAO Shiang TAO Yu MENG Jingyang LIU Luoxin CUI Wanli LIU Baojun SUN Peng LIU Wenge ZHAO 2020Asian Herpetological Research2020,11,4:0
18Digital twins in smart farming:An autoware-based simulator for autonomous agricultural vehicles显示文摘Digital twins can improve the level of control over physical entities and help manage complex systems by integrating a range of technologies.The autonomous agricultural machine has shown revolutionary effects on labor reduction and utilization rate in field works.Autonomous vehicles in precision agriculture have the potential to improve competitiveness compared to current crop production methods and have become a research hotspot.However,the development time and resources required in experiments have limited the research in this area.Simulation tools in unmanned farming that are required to enable more efficient,reliable,and safe autonomy are increasingly demanding.Inspired by the recent development of an open-source virtual simulation platform,this study proposed an autoware-based simulator to evaluate the performance of agricultural machine guidance based on digital twins.Oblique photogrammetry using drones is used to construct threedimensional maps of fields at the same scale as reality.A communication format suitable for agricultural machines was developed for data input and output,along with an inter-node communication methodology.The conversion,publishing,and maintenance of multiple coordinate systems were completed based on ROS(Robot Operating System).Coverage path planning was performed using hybrid curves based on Bézier curves,and it was tested in both a simulation environment and actual fields with the aid of Pure Pursuit algorithms and PID controllers.Xin Zhao Wanli Wang Long Wen Zhibo Chen Sixian Wu Kun Zhou Mengyao Sun Lanjun Xu Bingbing Hu Caicong Wu 2023International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2023,16,4:0
19Formation of secondary inorganic aerosol in a frigid urban atmosphere显示文摘Formation of secondary inorganic aerosol(SIA)was investigated during a six-month long heating season in Harbin,China.Enhanced sulfate formation was observed at high relative humidity(RH),with the same threshold RH(80%)for both colder and warmer measurement periods.Compared to wintertime results from Beijing,the threshold RH was considerably higher in Harbin,whereas the RH-dependent enhancement of sulfur oxidation ratio(SOR)was less significant.In addition,the high RH events were rarely encountered,and for other periods,the SOR were typically as low as~0.1.Therefore,the sulfate formation was considered inefficient in this study.After excluding the several cases with high RH,both SOR and the nitrogen oxidation ratio(NOR)exhibited increasing trends as the temperature increased,with the increase of NOR being sharper.The nitrate to sulfate ratio tended to increase with increasing temperature as well.Based on a semi-quantitative approach,this trend was attributed primarily to the temperature-dependent variations of precursors including SO_(2) and NO_(2).The influence of biomass burning emissions on SIA formation was also evident.With stronger impact of biomass burning,an enhancement in NOR was observed whereas SOR was largely unchanged.The different patterns were identified as the dominant driver of the larger nitrate to sulfate ratios measured at higher concentrations of fine particulate matter.Yuan Cheng Qinqin Yu Jiumeng Liu Youwen Sun Linlin Liang Zhenyu Du Guannan Geng Wanli Ma Hong Qi Qiang Zhang Kebin He 2022Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,2:0
20Renal Effects of Prosthetic Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm in Dogs显示文摘To provide experimental model for abdominal aortic aneurysm research and to optimize design of stent-graft,the authors established an animal models of prosthetic abdominal aortic aneurysm (PAAA) in dogs,evaluated its biofunction,biocompatibility and renal effect.The PAAA was sutured using aneurysm neck (Φ 6 mm artificial blood vessel) and aneurysm body (Φ 29 and 31mm artificial blood vessel,respectively). Sixteen healthy adult dogs,with weight of 13. 5 ± 0. 66 kg,were randomly divided into 2 groups: group 29 mm and group 31 mm,8 in each group. Infrarenal aortic artery was reconstructed with PAAA to establish abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) animal model. Blood coagulation index such as prothrombin time (PT),activated partial thromboplatin time (APTT),thrombin time (TT) and Fibrinogen (Fbg) were detected pre-operation,1,7 and 14 days post-operation,respectively. Blood routine parameters were detected pre-operation 11,3 and 7 days post-operation. Renal function parameters such as blood urea nitrogen (BUN),creatinine (CREA),urea acid (UA) and urea/ creatinine (BU/CREA) were evaluated pre-operation and 30,90,150 days post-operation,respectively. PAAA were removed en bloc to determinine its biofuction and biocompatibility after 5 months of surgery. Kidneys were fixed in neutral buffered formalin solution,pathological slice were conducted to observate pathological changes of kidneys by HE stain.The results are as follows:1. Animal model: The PAAA was implanted to the infrarenal abdominal aortic artery without extensive bleeding after anastomosis. One dog died 2,25 and 127 days post-operation in group 31 mm,respectively,and the overall success rate was 62. 5%. One dog died 7 days post-operation in group 29 mm,the overall success rate was 87. 5%.2. Biofunction and biocompatibility of PAAA: Autopsy showed that there were no abdominal adhesions around the PAAAs,the lumen was patent without blood clots,there were no bleeding in PAAAs in two groups. Biocompatibility was poor because the outer layer of PAAA was enclosed by tissues,which was easy to strip,in group 31 mm. Excellent biocompatibility was proved by vascular endothelial cells growth in the inner layer of PAAA in group 29 mm.3. Coagulation examination: ATPP reduced significantly 1 day post-operation,and returned to normal after 7 days;there was no significant difference on TT in two groups. Fbg increased significantly 1 day post-operation (3. 16 ± 0. 56g/L,P<0. 05),and returned to normal after 7 days; PT and INR have no significant difference in group 29 mm. Value of PT and INR was 7. 92 ± 0. 57s and 0. 655 ± 0. 49,respectively,which reduced significantly compared with base value (P<0. 05),and returned to normal after 7 days; Fbg increased extremely 1 day post-operation (3. 28 ± 0. 49 g /L) (P<0. 01),which still increased significantly after 7 and 14 days in group 31 mm.4. Blood routine examination: Red blood cell count (RBC) and hemoglobin (HGB) reduced significantly 1 and 3days post-operation (P<0. 05); white blood cell count (WBC) and intermediate cell rate (MID%) increased extremely 1 day post-operation; there was no significant change in platelet count in group 29 mm. Mean corpuscular volume (MCV),RBC,HGB reduced significantly 1 and 3 days post-operation; WBC and MID% increased extremely 1 day after surgery; platelet (PLT),thrombocytocrit (PCT%) and platelet distribution width (PDW%) increased significantly1 day post-operation in group 31 mm.5. Renal function: BUN was 3. 995 ± 0. 36 mmol/L,which reduced extremely (P<0. 01),CREA was 104. 5 ±13. 85 μmol/L,which increased significantly (P<0. 05) after 150 days. BU/CREA reduced 90 and 150 days post-operation; UA reduced significantly or extremely 30,90 and 150 days post-operation (P<0. 05,P<0. 01),Its' values were 309. 61 ± 40. 8 μmol/L,160. 26 ± 28. 73 μmol/L and 23. 69 ± 12. 66 μmol/L,respectively in group 29 mm.In group 31 mm,BUN were 5. 51 ± 0. 43 mmol/L and 5. 36 ± 0. 32 mmol/L,which reduced significantly (P <0. 05); BU/CREA reduced significantly (P<0. 05),CREA were 106. 83 ± 7. 0 μmol/L、113. 17 ± 9. 79 μmol/L (P< 0. 05),which increased significantly compared with base values (P<0. 05) 90 and 150 days post-operation. Pathologic observation of kidney: Glomerular atrophy and granular degeneration in renal tubule with luminal narrowing was observed under microscope. Red thrombosis could be seen in part of renal tubule and renal glomerulus.Animal model of PAAA in dogs was successfully established. Biofunction and biocompatibility of PAAA in group 29mm is better than that of group 31mm.
