| 5 | Effects of nano-HMX on the properties of RDX-CMDB propellant:Higher energy and lower sensitivity显示文摘Batch preparation of nano-HMX was achieved via a mechanical trituration method. The morphology and particle size of nano-HMX and raw RDX were characterized using SEM. Then nano-HMX was used in a formulation of composite modified double base propellant containing RDX. The method is to use nanoHMX to replace the RDX in the formulation by 10% gradually with the total mass content of RDX and HMX unchanged. The burning rate, mechanical sensitivity and mechanical property of propellant strands with different mass content of nano-HMX were tested. The results indicate that the 30% content of nanoHMX has the best comprehensive performance which can be used as an improvement of the existing formula. | 6 | Refinement of primary Si in Cu-50Si alloys with novel Al-Zr-P master alloy显示文摘In this article, a novel Al-6Zr-2P master alloy with ZrP particles was successfully synthesized, and the refining performance of this novel master alloy for the primary Si in Cu-50Si alloys was also investigated. By means of the fracture plane observation, it is found that the ZrP phase would precipitate first in the solidification process, and then, the ZrAl 3 phase grows around them. Furthermore, it is observed that the refining effect can be remarkably improved by changing the addition sequence of the raw materials. After the melting of commercial Cu, the 2.0 wt% Al-6Zr-2P master alloy and crystalline Si were added in sequence, and the mean size of the primary Si in Cu-50Si alloy can be significantly refined from 255.7 to 75.3 lm. | 7 | Study on Wave Dissipation of the Structure Combined by Baffle and Submerged Breakwater显示文摘This paper proposes a structure combined by baffle and submerged breakwater(abbreviated to SCBSB in the following texts). Such a combined structure is conducive to the water exchange in the harbor, and has strong capability on wave dissipation. Our paper focuses on the discussion of two typical structures, i.e., the submerged baffle and rectangular breakwater combined with the upper baffle respectively, which are named as SCBSB1 and SCBSB2 for short. The eigenfunction method corrected by experimental results is used to investigate the wave dissipation characteristics. | 8 | Moisture transfer and phase change in unsaturated soils: an experimental study of two types of canopy effect显示文摘Canopy effect refers to the phenomenon in which moisture accumulates underneath an impervious cover.A canopy effect can lead to full saturation of the soil underneath the impervious cover.A recent theoretical study separates the canopy effect into two types.The first one is caused by evaporation-condensation in unsaturated soils,while the second one is induced by freezing-enhanced vapour transfer in unsaturated soils.To validate experimentally these two types of canopy effect and to reveal their mechanisms,moisture-migration experiments were carried out,using a newly developed laboratory apparatus for unsaturated frozen soils.Six conditions were applied to the calcareous sand,with different initial water contents and boundary temperatures.The results show that water content in the upper portion of the sample increased under an upward temperature gradient,and the increment of water content was greater if the soil was subjected to freezing.For the freezing cases,the depth of the peak water content was in line with the freezing front.And the greater the initial water content,the more the water content accumulated at the freezing front.However,a lower cooling rate seemed to facilitate vapour migration.For the unfrozen cases,the water content in the upper portion of the sample also increased;and the increases became more apparent with a higher initial moisture content.The temperature gradient can also inhibit the vapour migration.A less steep temperature gradient always resulted in a more notable inhibition effect.Test results seem to verify the theory of the canopy effect. | Zuo Yue He Ji Dong Teng Sheng Zhang Dai Chao Sheng | 2017 | Research in Cold and Arid Regions2017,9,3: | 2 |

| 12 | Relationship between expression of NADPH oxidase 2 and invasion and prognosis of human gastric cancer显示文摘AIM: To assess the expression and prognostic value of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate oxidase 2(NOX2) in gastric cancer, and its correlation with vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR).METHODS: Tumor and adjacent tissues were obtained from 123 patients who underwent radical surgery for gastric cancer at Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University from 2008-2009. The expression of NOX2, VEGF, EGFR and CD68 in tumor tissues was detected by immunohistochemistry. The expression of NOX2 in gastric cancer and adjacent tissues was detected by Western blot analysis. Spearman's correlation was performed to elucidate the relationship of NOX2 with VEGF and EGFR. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate survival time, and the log-rank test was used to evaluate differences in survival. Cox‘s proportional hazards regression model was applied in a stepwise manner to analyze the independent prognostic factors.RESULTS: NOX2 exhibited positive expression in 47.2%(58/123) of the gastric cancer tissues. Western blot analysis revealed that NOX2 was up-regulated in tumor tissues compared to the adjacent tissue [39.0%(48/123)]. Immunohistochemistry staining revealed that CD68, which is a specific marker of macrophages, and NOX expression presented a similar localization and staining intensity. The expression of NOX2 was positively correlated with that of VEGF and EGFR. Comparison of the 5-year survival rates of the NOX2 positive and NOX2 negative groups showed that the NOX2 positive group presented a poor prognosis.CONCLUSION: NOX2 positively correlates with the levels of VEGF and EGFR.
