| 1 | Applications of Lithium-Ion Batteries in Grid-Scale Energy Storage Systems显示文摘In the electrical energy transformation process,the grid-level energy storage system plays an essential role in balancing power generation and utilization.Batteries have considerable potential for application to grid-level energy storage systems because of their rapid response,modularization,and flexible installation.Among several battery technologies,lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)exhibit high energy efficiency,long cycle life,and relatively high energy density.In this perspective,the properties of LIBs,including their operation mechanism,battery design and construction,and advantages and disadvantages,have been analyzed in detail.Moreover,the performance of LIBs applied to grid-level energy storage systems is analyzed in terms of the following grid services:(1)frequency regulation;(2)peak shifting;(3)integration with renewable energy sources;and(4)power management.In addition,the challenges encountered in the application of LIBs are discussed and possible research directions aimed at overcoming these challenges are proposed to provide insight into the development of grid-level energy storage systems. | Tianmei Chen Yi Jin Hanyu Lv Antao Yang Meiyi Liu Bing Chen Ying Xie Qiang Chen | 2020 | Transactions of Tianjin University2020,26,3: | 9 |

| 3 | Application of stem cells in peripheral nerve regeneration显示文摘Traumatic peripheral nerve injury is a worldwide clinical issue with high morbidity.The severity of peripheral nerve injury can be classified as neurapraxia,axonotmesis or neurotmesis,according to Seddon’s classification,or five different degrees according to Sunderland’s classification.Patients with neurotmesis suffer from a complete transection of peripheral nerve stumps and are often in need of surgical repair of nerve defects.The applications of autologous nerve grafts as the golden standard for peripheral nerve transplantation meet some difficulties,including donor nerve sacrifice and nerve mismatch.Attempts have been made to construct tissue-engineered nerve grafts as supplements or even substitutes for autologous nerve grafts to bridge peripheral nerve defects.The incorporation of stem cells as seed cells into the biomaterial-based scaffolds increases the effectiveness of tissue-engineered nerve grafts and largely boosts the regenerative process.Numerous stem cells,including embryonic stem cells,neural stem cells,bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells,adipose stem cells,skin-derived precursor stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells,have been used in neural tissue engineering.In the current review,recent trials of stem cell-based tissue-engineered nerve grafts have been summarized;potential concerns and perspectives of stem cell therapeutics have also been contemplated. | Sheng Yi Yu Zhang Xiaokun Gu Li Huang Kairong Zhang Tianmei Qian Xiaosong Gu | 2020 | Burns & Trauma2020,8,1: | 7 |
| 4 | Noncoding RNAs and Their Potential Therapeutic Applications in Tissue Engineering显示文摘Tissue engineering is a relatively new but rapidly developing field in the medical sciences. Noncoding RNAs(ncRNAs) are functional RNA molecules without a protein-coding function; they can regulate cellular behavior and change the biological milieu of the tissue. The application of ncRNAs in tissue engineering is starting to attract increasing attention as a means of resolving a large number of unmet healthcare needs, although ncRNA-based approaches have not yet entered clinical practice. | 5 | Progress and challenges in research of the mechanisms of anhedonia in major depressive disorder显示文摘There is an increasing heavy disease burden of major depressive disorder(MDD)globally.Both high diagnostic heterogeneity and complicated pathological mechanisms of MDD pose significant challenges.There is much evidence to support anhedonia as a core feature of MDD.In the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders,Fifth Edition,anhedonia is further emphasised as a key item in the diagnosis of major depression with melancholic features.Anhedonia is a multifaceted symptom that includes deficits in various aspects of reward processing,such as anticipatory anhedonia,consummatory anhedonia,and decision-making anhedonia.Anhedonia is expected to become an important clinicopathological sign for predicting the treatment outcome of MDD and assisting clinical decision making.However,the precise neurobiological mechanisms of anhedonia in MDD are not clearly understood.In this paper,we reviewed(1)the current understanding of the link between anhedonia and MDD;(2)the biological basis of the pathological mechanism of anhedonia in MDD;and(3)challenges in research on the pathological mechanisms of anhedonia in MDD.A more in-depth understanding of anhedonia associated with MDD will improve the diagnosis,prediction,and treatment of patients with MDD in the future. | Yun-Ai Su Tianmei Si | 2022 | General Psychiatry2022,35,1: | 2 |
