1Visual Fixation Assessment in Patients with Disorders of Consciousness Based on Brain-Computer Interface显示文摘Visual fixation is an item in the visual function subscale of the Coma Recovery Scale-Revised(CRS-R).Sometimes clinicians using the behavioral scales find it difficult to detect because of the motor impairment in patients with disorders of consciousness(DOCs). Braincomputer interface(BCI) can be used to improve clinical assessment because it directly detects the brain response to an external stimulus in the absence of behavioral expression. In this study, we designed a BCI system to assist the visual fixation assessment of DOC patients. The results from 15 patients indicated that three showed visual fixation in both CRS-R and BCI assessments and one did not show such behavior in the CRS-R assessment but achieved significant online accuracy in the BCI assessment. The results revealed that electroencephalography-based BCI can detect the brain response for visual fixation. 3Hierarchical CuCo_2O_4@nickel-cobalt hydroxides core/shell nanoarchitectures for high-performance hybrid supercapacitors显示文摘Ni_(0.5)Co_(0.5)(OH)_2 nanosheets coated CuCo_2O_4 nanoneedles arrays were successfully designed and synthesized on carbon fabric. The core/shell nanoarchitectures directly served as the binder-free electrode with a superior capacity of 295.6 mAh g^(-1) at 1 Ag^(-1), which still maintained 220 mAh g^(-1) even at the high current density of 40 Ag^(-1), manifesting their enormous potential in hybrid supercapacitor devices. The asassembled CuCo_2O_4@Ni_(0.5)Co_(0.5)(OH)_2//AC hybrid supercapacitor device exhibited favorable properties with the specific capacitance as high as 90 Fg^(-1) at 1 Ag^(-1) and the high energy density of 32 Wh kg^(-1) at the power density of 800 Wkg^(-1). 4Allele-aware chromosome-scale assembly of the allopolyploid genome of hexaploid Ma bamboo(Dendrocalamus latiflorus Munro)显示文摘Dendrocalamus latiflorus Munro is a woody clumping bamboo with rapid shoot growth.Both genetic transformation and clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9(Cas9)gene editing techniques are available for D.latiflorus,enabling reverse genetic approaches.Thus,D.latiflorus has the potential to be a model bamboo species.However,the genome sequence of D.latiflorus has remained unreported due to its polyploidy and large genome size.Here,we sequenced the D.latiflorus genome and assembled it into three allele-aware subgenomes(AABBCC),representingthe largest genome of a major bamboo species.We assembled 70 allelic chromosomes(2,737 Mb)for hexaploid D.latiflorus using both singlemolecule sequencing from the Pacific Biosciences(Pac Bio)Sequel platform and chromosome conformation capture sequencing(Hi-C).Repetitive sequences comprised 52.65%of the D.latiflorus genome.We annotated 135231 protein-coding genes in the genome based on transcriptomes from eight different tissues.Transcriptome sequencing using RNA-Seq and Pac Bio singlemolecule real-time long-read isoform sequencing revealed highly differential alternative splicing(AS)between non-abortive and abortive shoots,suggesting that AS regulates the abortion rate of bamboo shoots.This high-quality hexaploid genome and comprehensive strand-specific transcriptome datasets for this Poaceae family member will pave the way for bamboo research using D.latiflorus as a model species.Yushan Zheng Deming Yang Jundong Rong Liguang Chen Qiang Zhu Tianyou He Lingyan Chen Jing Ye Lili Fan Yubang Gao Hangxiao Zhang Lianfeng Gu 2022Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,3:6
5DeceFL:a principled fully decentralized federated learning framework显示文摘Traditional machine learning relies on a centralized data pipeline for model training in various applications;however,data are inherently fragmented.Such a decentralized nature of databases presents the serious challenge for collaboration:sending all decentralized datasets to a central server raises serious privacy concerns.Although there has been a joint effort in tackling such a critical issue by proposing privacy-preserving machine learning frameworks,such as federated learning,most state-of-the-art frameworks are built still in a centralized way,in which a central client is needed for collecting and distributing model information(instead of data itself)from every other client,leading to high communication burden and high vulnerability when there exists a failure at or an attack on the central client.Here we propose a principled decentralized federated learning algorithm(DeceFL),which does not require a central client and relies only on local information transmission between clients and their neighbors,representing a fully decentralized learning framework.It has been further proven that every client reaches the global minimum with zero performance gap and achieves the same convergence rate O(1=T)(where T is the number of iterations in gradient descent)as centralized federated learning when the loss function is smooth and strongly convex.Finally,the proposed algorithm has been applied to a number of applications to illustrate its effectiveness for both convex and nonconvex loss functions,time-invariant and time-varying topologies,as well as IID and Non-IID of datasets,demonstrating its applicability to a wide range of real-world medical and industrial applications.Ye Yuan Jun Liu Dou Jin Zuogong Yue Tao Yang Ruijuan Chen Maolin Wang Chuan Sun Lei Xu Feng Hua Yuqi Guo Xiuchuan Tang Xin He Xinlei Yi Dong Li Guanghui Wen Wenwu Yu Hai-Tao Zhang Tianyou Chai Shaochun Sui Han Ding 2023National Science Open2023,2,1:1

8Seamlessly Merging the Capacity of P into Sb at Same Voltage with Maintained Superior Cycle Stability and Low-temperature Performance for Li-ion Batteries显示文摘Among the alloying-type anodes,elemental Sb possesses the suitable yet safe plateau,simple lithiation pathway,small voltage polarization,high conductivity,and superior cycle stability.However,challenge is that its intrinsic capacity is rather low(660 mAh g^(-1)),<1/6 of silicon.Herein,we propose a seamless integration strategy by merging the voltage and capacity of phosphorus and antimony into a solid solution alloy.Interestingly,the enlistment of P is found greatly enlarge the capacity from 660 to 993 mAh g^(-1) for such Sb_(30)P_(30) solid solution,while maintaining a single and stable discharge plateau(~0.79 V)similar to elemental Sb.Various experimental characterizations including XPS,PDF,Raman,and EDS mapping reveal that in such a material the P and Sb atoms have interacted with each other to form a homogenous solid solution alloy,rather than a simple mixing of the two substances.Thus,the Sb_(30)P_(30) exhibits superior rate performances(807 mAh g^(-1) at 5000 mA g^(-1))and cyclability(821 mAh g^(-1) remained after 300 cycles).Furthermore,such Sb_(60-x)P_(x) alloys can even deliver 621 mAh g^(-1) at30℃,which can be served as the alternative anode materials for high-energy and low-temperature batteries.This unique seamless integration strategy based on solid solution chemistry can be easily leveraged to manipulate the capacity of other electrode materials at similar voltage.Yaqing Wei Jun He Jie Zhang Mingyang Ou Yanpeng Guo Jiajun Chen Cheng Zeng Jia Xu Jiantao Han Tianyou Zhai Huiqiao Li 2023Energy & Environmental Materials2023,6,2:0
9PTBP2-Mediated Alternative Splicing of IRF9 Controls Tumor-Associated Monocyte/Macrophage Chemotaxis and Repolarization in Neuroblastoma Progression显示文摘The recurrence and metastasis of children with mediastinal neuroblastoma(NB)are also occurred after surgery,chemotherapy,or radiotherapy.Strategies targeting the tumor microenvironment have been reported to improve survival;however,thorough investigations of monocytes and tumor-associated macrophages(Mϕs)with specialized functions in NB are still lacking.Our data first demonstrated polypyrimidine tract binding protein 2(PTBP2)as a possible identifier in patients with mediastinal NB screened by proteomic profiling and that PTBP2 predicted good outcomes.Functional studies revealed that PTBP2 in NB cells induced the chemotactic activity and repolarization of tumor-associated monocytes and Mϕs,which,in turn,inhibited NB growth and dissemination.Mechanistically,PTBP2 prevents interferon regulatory factor 9 alternative splicing and upregulates signal transducers and activators of transcription 1 to stimulate C-C motif chemokine ligand 5(CCL5)and interferon-stimulated gene factor-dependent type I interferon secretion,to induce monocyte/Mϕs chemotaxis,and to sustain monocytes in a proinflammatory phenotype.Our study defined a critical event of PTBP2-induced monocytes/Mϕs in NB progression and revealed that RNA splicing occurred by PTBP2 benefits immune compartmentalization between NB cells and monocytes.This work revealed the pathological and biological role of PTBP2 in NB development and indicates that PTBP2-induced RNA splicing benefits immune compartmentalization and predicted a favorable prognosis in mediastinal NB.Jue Tang Jing He Huiqin Guo Huiran Lin Meng Li Tianyou Yang Hai-Yun Wang Di Li Jiabin Liu Le Li Huimin Xia Zhenjian Zhuo Lei Miao 2023Research2023,,3:0
10Genetic Diversity of Lotus(Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn.) Cultivars Revealed by ISSR Analysis显示文摘[Objectives] This study was conducted to investigate the genetic diversity of 20 lotus( Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn) samples. [Methods]On this optimal ISSR amplification system,16 primers were screened with good polymorphism,and the DNA was used to amplify the 20 plant samples. [Results] The 16 primers produced 225 loci,of which 170 were polymorphic,and the polymorphic loci percentage was up to 75. 56%. The genetic similarity coefficients between the 20 varieties ranged from 0. 577 8 to 0. 951 1,which were calculated by POPGENE32. The 20 varieties by UPMGA analysis could be clustered into 2 groups,the first of which included Baiyangdian red lotus and Donggua lotus,and other varieties was included in the second group. 11Responses of milk production of dairy cows to jugular infusions of a mixture of essential amino acids with or without exclusion leucine or arginine显示文摘The purpose of this study was to determine effects of jugular infusion of either balanced or imbalanced amino acid mixture on milk production and composition in dairy cows. Eight mid-lactation Holstein cows were randomly assigned to 5-d continuous jugular infusions of saline(CTL), essential amino acid(EAA) mixture prepared on the profile of casein(CSN, 160 g/d), EAA mixture excluding leucine(Leu)(-Leu, 163 g/d) or EAA mixture excluding arginine(Arg)(-Arg, 158 g/d) in a duplicated 4×4 Latin square design with 4 infusion periods separated by a 7-d interval period. The basal diet was formulated with corn grain, soybean meal, cottonseed meal, corn silage, alfalfa hay and Chinese wildrye grass hay according to NRC(2001) and supplied 1.6 Mcal net energy for lactation(NEL) and 94.4 g metabolizable protein(MP) per kg dry matter(DM) to meet requirements for lactation. The results showed that the dry matter intake(DMI) and normal physiological status were not affected by amino acid mixture infusions.Compared with CTL treatment, the CSN treatment increased milk yield(14.9%, P < 0.001), milk lactose yield(14.5%, P = 0.001), milk fat yield(16.6%, P = 0.01), milk protein yield(18.2%, P < 0.001) and the contents of α_(S1)-casein(α_(S1)-CN,11,8%,P = 0,007),β-casein(β-CN,4.2%.P=0.035) and K-casein(κ-CN,8.5%, P = 0.003). However, the-Leu and-Arg treatments had lower milk yield(6.3%, P = 0.058 and 5.7%,P = 0.073, respectively), milk protein yield(8.8%, P = 0.010 and 8.2%, P = 0.011, respectively) and the contents of α_(S1)-CN(7.3%,P = 0.057 and 8.4%,P = 0.026, respectively),β-CN(4.2%,P = 0.033 and 3.8%,P = 0.048, respectively) and κ-CN(5.8%, P = 0.023 and 7.6%, P = 0.003, respectively) than those of the CSN treatment. Milk lactose yield(5.9%, P = 0.076) tended to decrease when Leu was removed from amino acid mixture infusate.
