1A bottom-up strategy toward metal nano-particles modified graphene nanoplates for fabricating aluminum matrix composites and interface study显示文摘To synthesize graphene economically and efficiently,as well as to improve the interface bonding between graphene and metal and to recede the aggregation issue of graphene,in this work,an easy and scalable bottom-up strategy for the mass production of metal nanoparticles modified graphene nanoplates(GNPs)was proposed.Cu nanoparticles modified GNPs(Cu-GNPs)and Ni nanoparticles modified GNPs(Ni-GNPs)were fabricated through this method,and then compounded with Al via ball milling technique.The asobtained Ni-GNPs/Al composite showed simultaneously improved strength and toughness compared with unreinforced Al,while the Cu-GNPs/Al composite presented a greater strengthening effect.The microstructure and interface of the two composites were carefully characterized and investigated to reveal the difference.First principle study was also adopted to explore the binding energy of different interface structures.This study could provide new insights into the fabrication of GNPs and the control of interface in GNPs/Al composites.Tielong Han Enzuo Liu Jiajun Li Naiqin Zhao Chunnian He 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,42,11:8
2The relations between density of FACs in the Plasma Sheet Boundary Layers and Kp index显示文摘We have studied 172 field-aligned currents(FACs) cases observed by the ClusterII satellites when they crossed the plasma sheet boundary layer(PSBL) in the magnetotail from July to October 2001.We mainly analyzed the relationship between the characteristic of FACs at the PSBL in magnetotail and the Kp index.The main results indicated the followings:1) In the different geomagnetic activity levels,the relative occurrence of FACs in PSBL increased monotonically with geomagnetic activity.2) The density of FACs in PSBL increased monotonically with Kp index.In the storm main phase,the density of FACs increased dramatically,the maximum FACs approximately equaled 19.05 nA m 2 while Kp equaled 5.3) The variation of FACs density in PSBL was consistent with the variation of the Kp index.However,when AE<800 nT,FACs density in PSBL increased with increasing AE,and when AE>800 nT,it decreased with increasing AE.Therefore,our results suggested that the FACs density in PSBL had a closer correlation with Kp index.CHENG ZhengWei SHI JianKui ZHANG TieLong DUNLOP Malcolm LIU ZhenXing 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,11:8
3A high resolution lithospheric magnetic field model over China显示文摘CHAMP satellite data and ground-based magnetic observations are used and combined to map the lithospheric magnetic field over China by means of the revised spherical cap harmonic analysis(R-SHCA)modeling technique.The magnetic field is described to a spatial resolution of 150 km at the mean Earth’s radius,which represents a good compromise between the resolutions afforded by surface and satellite data.We compare the magnetic anomalies modeled at the regional scale with composite regions containing large-scale of tectonic structures.These regions,including the Tarim Basin and the Tibetan Plateau,are correlated with regional magnetic anomalies at satellite altitude but contain a significant number of small-scale and complex magnetic structures at the mean Earth’s radius.These magnetic anomalies are globally consistent with the known geological features in China but also offer a way to delineate the contours of the geological blocks and to discuss the connection between magnetic anomalies and the heat flow distribution in this region.OU JiaMing DU AiMin E.THBAULT XU WenYao TIAN XiaoBo ZHANG TieLong 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,10:7

6Synthesis of nanoiron by microemulsion with Span/Tween as mixed surfactants for reduction of nitrate in water显示文摘Denitrification of nitrate in groundwater using iron nanoparticles has received increasing interest in recent years.In order to fabricate iron nanoparticles with homoge-neously spherical shape and narrow size distribution,a simple and“green”method was developed to synthesize iron nano-particles.The conventional microemulsion methods were modified by applying Span 80 and Tween 60 as mixed sur-factants.The maximum content of water in the Water-in-oil(W/O)microemulsion and its appropriate forming conditions were found,and then the microemulsion system consisting of saturated Fe^(2+)solution was used to synthesizeα-Fe ultrafine particles by redox reaction.The nanoparticles were characterized by using powder X-ray diffraction(XRD)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The results show that the average diameter of the particle is about 80-90 nm.The chemical activity of the obtained iron nanoparticles was studied by the denitrification experiment of nitrate.The results show that under the experimental conditions,iron removed most of the 80 mg/L nitrate within 30 min.The mass balance of nitrate reduction with nanoscale Fe indicates that endproducts are mainly ammonia.Two possible reaction pathways for nitrate reduction by nanoscale iron particles have been proposed in this work.ZHANG Yunxia LI Tielong JIN Zhaohui WANG Wei WANG Shuaima 2007Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2007,1,4:6
7Stabilization of Fe^0 nanoparticles with silica fume for enhanced transport and remediation of hexavalent chromium in water and soil显示文摘Effective in situ remediation of Cr(VI) in groundwater requires the successful delivery of reactive iron particles to the subsurface. Fe 0 nanoparticles (20–110 nm diameter) supported on silica fume were synthesized by borohydride reduction of an aqueous iron salt in the presence of a support material. The experimental result showed that attachment of Fe 0 nanoparticles on the commercial available sub-micrometer silica fume prevented them from aggregation while maintaining the particle reactivity. When the Fe 0 concentration was 0.4 g/L, 88.00% of 40 mg/L Cr(VI) was removed by silica fume-supported Fe 0 nanoparticles (SF-Fe 0 ) in 120 min, 22.55% higher than unsupported Fe 0 . Furthermore, transport experiments confirmed that almost all unsupported Fe 0 was retained, whereas 51.50% and 38.29% of SF-Fe 0 were eluted from the vertical and horizontal sand column, respectively. Additionally, the effect of solution ionic strength on the transport ability of SF-Fe 0 was evaluated. 8Inducible Rubicon facilitates viral replication by antagonizing interferon production显示文摘The RUN domain Beclin-1-interacting cysteine-rich-containing(Rubicon)protein is involved in the maturation step of autophagy and the endocytic pathway as a Beclin-1-binding partner,but little is known regarding the role of Rubicon during viral infection.Here,we performed functional studies of the identified target in interferon(IFN)signaling pathways associated with Rubicon to elucidate the mechanisms of viral resistance to IFN.The Rubicon protein levels were elevated in peripheral blood mononuclear cells,sera and liver tissues from patients with hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection relative to those in healthy individuals.Assays of the overexpression and knockdown of Rubicon showed that Rubicon significantly promoted HBV replication.In addition,Rubicon knockdown resulted in the inhibition of enterovirus 71,influenza A virus and vesicular stomatitis virus.The expression o0f Rubicon led to the suppression of virus-induced type-I interferon(IFN-αand IFN-β)and type-III interferon(IFN-λ1).Translocation of activated IRF3 and IRF7 from the cytoplasm to the nucleus was involved in this process,and the NF-κB essential modulator(NEMO),a key factor in the IFN pathway,was the target with which Rubicon interacted.Our results reveal a previously unrecognized function of Rubicon as a virus-induced protein that binds to NEMO,leading to the inhibition of type-I interferon production.Rubicon thus functions as an important negative regulator of the innate immune response,enhances viral replication and may play a role in viral immune evasion.Yushun Wan Wei Cao Tao Han Sheng Ren Jian Feng TieLong Chen Jun Wang Ruth Broering Mengji Lu Ying Zhu 2017Cellular & Molecular Immunology2017,14,7:4

10The role of γ-aminobutyric acid in aluminum stress tolerance in a woody plant, Liriodendron chinense×tulipifera显示文摘The aluminum(Al)cation Al^(3+)in acidic soil shows severe rhizotoxicity that inhibits plant growth and development.Most woody plants adapted to acidic soils have evolved specific strategies against Al^(3+)toxicity,but the underlying mechanism remains elusive.The four-carbon amino acid gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA)has been well studied in mammals as an inhibitory neurotransmitter;GABA also controls many physiological responses during environmental or biotic stress.The woody plant hybrid Liriodendron(L.chinense×tulipifera)is widely cultivated in China as a horticultural tree and provides high-quality timber;studying its adaptation to high Al stress is important for harnessing its ecological and economic potential.Here,we performed quantitative iTRAQ(isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantification)to study how protein expression is altered in hybrid Liriodendron leaves subjected to Al stress.Hybrid Liriodendron shows differential accumulation of several proteins related to cell wall biosynthesis,sugar and proline metabolism,antioxidant activity,cell autophagy,protein ubiquitination degradation,and anion transport in response to Al damage.We observed that Al stress upregulated glutamate decarboxylase(GAD)and its activity,leading to increased GABA biosynthesis.Additional GABA synergistically increased Al-induced antioxidant enzyme activity to efficiently scavenge ROS,enhanced proline biosynthesis,and upregulated the expression of MATE1/2,which subsequently promoted the efflux of citrate for chelation of Al^(3+).We also showed similar effects of GABA on enhanced Al^(3+)tolerance in Arabidopsis.Thus,our findings suggest a function of GABA signaling in enhancing hybrid Liriodendron tolerance to Al stress through promoting organic acid transport and sustaining the cellular redox and osmotic balance.Pengkai Wang Yini Dong Liming Zhu Zhaodong Hao LingFeng Hu Xiangyang Hu Guibin Wang Tielong Cheng Jisen Shi Jinhui Chen 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:3

12Emerging Organic Contaminants in Chinese Surface Water:Identification of Priority Pollutants显示文摘The occurrence and impacts of emerging organic contaminants(EOCs)in the aquatic environment have gained widespread attention over the past two decades.Due to large number of potential contaminants,monitoring campaigns,treatment plants,and proposed regulations should preferentially focus on specific pollutants with the highest potential for ecological and human health effects.In the present study,a multi-criteria screening approach based on hazard and exposure potentials was developed for prioritization of 405 unregulated EOCs already present in Chinese surface water.Hazard potential,exposure potential,and risk quotients for ecological and human health effects were quantitatively analyzed and used to screen contaminants.The hazard potential was defined by contaminant persistence,bioaccumulation,ecotoxicity,and human health effects;similarly,the exposure potential was a function of contaminant concentration and detection frequency.In total,123 compounds passed the preselection process,which involved a priority index equal to the normalized hazard potential multiplied by the normalized exposure potential.Based on the prioritization scheme,11 compounds were identified as top-priority,and 37 chemicals were defined as high-priority.The results obtained by the priority index were compared with four other prioritization schemes based on exposure potential,hazard potential,or risk quotients for ecological effects or human health.The priority index effectively captured and integrated the results from the more simplistic prioritization schemes.Based on identified data gaps,four uncertainty categories were classified to recommend:①regular monitoring,derivation of environmental quality standards,and development of control strategies;②increased monitoring;③fortified hazard assessment;and④increased efforts to collect occurrence and toxicity data.Overall,20 pollutants were recommended as priority EOCs.The prioritized list of contaminants provides the necessary information for authoritative regulations to monitor,control,evaluate,and manage the risks of environmentally-relevant EOCs in Chinese surface water.Mengmeng Zhong Tielong Wang Wenxing Zhao Jun Huang Bin Wang Lee Blaney Qingwei Bu Gang Yu 2022Engineering2022,8,4:3
13Variation of dependence of the cusp location at different altitude on the dipole tilt显示文摘Using the Cluster cusp crossings data,dependence of the cusp location at the mid-altitude on the geomagnetic dipole tilt during northward IMF is studied.The results show that the cusp center moves 0.051°Invariant Latitude(ILAT)upon the increase of 1°in the dipole tilt angle at the average altitude of 5.8 RE(Earth radius).According to the present results obtained at the altitude of the Cluster orbit and previous results obtained at other altitudes of other satellite orbits,it is found that the higher the altitude in the cusp region is,the bigger the dependence of cusp location on the dipole tilt angle will be.If the altitude increases by 1 RE in the cusp region,the dependence will increase by 0.012°ILAT upon the increase of 1°in the dipole tilt angle.Some possible physical mechanisms are discussed and it shows that the cusp location will be more sensitive to the solar wind dynamic pressure if the altitude is high.GUO JianGuang SHI JianKui CHENG ZhengWei ZHANG ZiYing WANG Zheng ZHANG TieLong LIU ZhenXing DUNLOP Malcolm 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28:3
14Estimation and feedback control of air-fuel ratio for gasoline engines显示文摘In 4-stroke internal combustion engines, air-fuel ratio control is a challenging task due to the rapid changes of engine throttle,especially during transient operation. To improve the transient performance, managing the cycle-to-cycle transient behavior of the mass of the air, the fuel and the burnt gas is a key issue due to the imbalance of cyclic combustion process. This paper address the model-based estimation and control problem for cyclic air-fuel ratio of spark-ignition engines. A discrete-time model of air-fuel ratio is proposed, which represents the cycle-to-cycle transient behavior of in-cylinder state variables under the assumptions of cyclic measurability of the total in-cylinder charge mass, combustion efficiency and the residual gas fraction. With the model,a Kalman filter-based air-fuel ratio estimation algorithm is proposed that enable us to perform a feedback control of air-fuel ratio without using lambda sensor. 15The correlations of ions density with geomagnetic activity and solar dynamic pressure in cusp region显示文摘A statistical study of the properties of ions (O+, He+ and H+) measured by the Cluster-II in cusp region as a function of the solar wind dynamic pressure and geomagnetic index Kp respectively was made dur-ing the summer and fall of 2001-2003. 16Serum ficolin-2 concentrations are significantly changed in patients with hepatitis B virus infection and liver diseases显示文摘Human ficolin-2 is an important lectin complement pathway activator that is secreted from liver cells and has been implicated as an anti-infection innate immune molecule. However, the role of ficolin-2 protein and its dynamic changes over the course of and in the prognosis of chronic hepatitis B(CHB) and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) remain unclear. In this study, we analyzed ficolin-2 protein expression in a cohort of individuals with CHB infection, HCC and cirrhosis. A sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) method was used to measure serum ficolin-2 concentrations. Ficolin-2 expression in liver tissues was detected by immunohistochemical staining. Serum ficolin-2 concentrations in CHB patients were significantly higher than in healthy controls and HBV carriers. After 48 weeks of routine amelioration liver function treatment, serum ficolin-2 concentrations decreased and were positively correlated with favorable alanine aminotransferase(ALT), HBV DNA and HBe Ag-seroconversion outcomes. Interestingly, we observed much lower expression of serum and intrahepatic ficolin-2 in HCC and cirrhosis compared with healthy controls. 18Dynamical model of HEV with two planetary gear units and its application to optimization of energy consumption显示文摘A hybrid electric vehicle(HEV) that uses multiple planetary gear units with clutches as transmission system is advanced for the powertrain performance, because the operation of the clutches can lead to distinct operating modes, and the induced possible operating modes provide additional freedom to deal with the energy optimal control problem. Under each operating mode, the powertrain mechanical system has specific dynamical behavior. In order to develop model-based optimization schemes that can tackle the transient operations of the vehicle, exact dynamical modeling is investigated focusing on a hybrid powertrain system that uses a two-planetary-gear transmission box with two clutches. It shows that according to the states of the two clutches, the powertrain system has the power-split mode, parallel mode and the electric vehicle(EV) mode. 20Two-stage on-board optimization of merging velocity planning with energy management for HEVs显示文摘This paper proposes a two-stage hierarchy control system with model predictive control(MPC)for connected parallel HEVs with available traffic information.In the first stage,a coordination of on-ramp merging problem using MPC is presented to optimize the merging point and trajectory for cooperative merging.After formulating the merging problem into a nonlinear optimization problem,a continuous/GMRES method is used to generate the real-time vehicle acceleration for two considered HEVs running on main road and merging road,respectively.The real-time acceleration action is used to calculate the torque demand for the dynamic system of the second stage.In the second stage,an energy management strategy(EMS)for powertrain control that optimizes the torque-split and gear ratio simultaneously is composed to improve fuel efficiency.The formulated nonlinear optimization problem is solved by sequential quadratic programming(SQP)method under the same receding horizon.The simulation results demonstrate that the vehicles can merge cooperatively and smoothly with a reasonable torque distribution and gear shift schedule.Bo ZHANG Wenjing CAO Tielong SHEN 2019Control Theory and Technology2019,17,4:2
