4SNAIL1 is essential for female gametogenesis in Arabidopsis thaliana显示文摘Two yeast Brix family members Ssf1 and Ssf2,involved in large ribosomal subunit synthesis, are essential for yeast cell viability and mating efficiency. Their putative homologs exist in the Arabidopsis genome; however, their role in plant development is unknown. Here, we show that Arabidopsis thaliana SNAIL1(At SNAIL1), a protein sharing high sequence identity with yeast Ssf1 and Ssf2, is critical to mitosis progression of female gametophyte development.The snail1 homozygous mutant was nonviable and its heterozygous mutant was semi-sterile with shorter siliques.The mutation in SNAIL1 led to absence of female transmission and reduced male transmission. Further phenotypic analysis showed that the synchronic development of female gametophyte in the snail1 heterozygous mutant was greatly impaired and the snail1 pollen tube growth, in vivo, was also compromised. 5Hemorrhagic shock due to submucosal esophageal hematoma along with mallory-weiss syndrome:A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Esophageal submucosal hematoma is a rare condition.Although the exact etiology remains uncertain,vessel fragility with external factors is believed to have led to submucosal bleeding and hematoma formation;the vessel was ruptured by a sudden increase in pressure due to nausea,and the hematoma was enlarged by antiplatelet or anticoagulant therapy.Serious conditions are rare,with a better prognosis.We present the first known case of submucosal esophageal hematoma-subsequent hemorrhagic shock due to Mallory-Weiss syndrome.CASE SUMMARY A 73-year-old female underwent endovascular treatment for an unruptured cerebral aneurysm.The patient received aspirin and clopidogrel before surgery and heparin during surgery,and was well during the surgery.Several hours after returning to the ICU,she complained of chest discomfort,vomited 500 m L of fresh blood,and entered hemorrhagic shock.Esophageal submucosal hematoma with Mallory-Weiss syndrome was diagnosed through an endoscopic examination and computed tomography.In addition to a massive fluid and erythrocyte transfusion,we performed a temporary compression for hemostasis with a Sengstaken-Blakemore(S-B)tube.Afterwards,she became hemodynamically stable.On postoperative day 1,we performed an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and confirmed no expansion of the hematoma nor any recurring bleeding;therefore,we removed the S-B tube and clipped the gastric mucosal laceration at the esophagogastric junction.We started oral intake on postoperative day 10.The patient made steady progress,and was discharged on postoperative day 33.CONCLUSION We present the first known case of submucosal esophageal hematoma subsequent hemorrhagic shock due to Mallory-Weiss syndrome.Jiro Oba Daisuke Usuda Shiho Tsuge Riki Sakurai Kenji Kawai Shun Matsubara Risa Tanaka Makoto Suzuki Hayabusa Takano Shintaro Shimozawa Yuta Hotchi Kenki Usami Shungo Tokunaga Ippei Osugi Risa Katou Sakurako Ito Kentaro Mishima Akihiko Kondo Keiko Mizuno Hiroki Takami Takayuki Komatsu Tomohisa Nomura Manabu Sugita 2022World Journal of Clinical Cases2022,10,27:3
6CSN1 inhibits c-Jun phosphorylation and down-regulates ectopic expression of JNK1显示文摘CSN1 is a component of the COP9 signalosome(CSN),a conserved protein complex with pleiotropic functions in many organs and cell types.CSN regulates ubiquitinproteasome dependent protein degradation via the deneddylation and the associated deubiquitination activities.In addition,CSN associates with protein kinases and modulates cell signaling,particularly the activator protein 1(AP-1)pathway.We have shown previously that CSN1 suppresses AP-1 transcription activity and inhibits ultraviolet(UV)and serum activation of c-fos expression.Here we show that CSN1 can inhibit phosphorylation of proto-oncogene c-Jun product and repress c-Jun dependent transcription.Further,CSN1 dramatically downregulates ectopic expression of c-Jun N-terminal kinase 1(JNK1)in cultured cells.The decline in JNK1 is not caused by excessive proteolysis or by 3′UTR-dependent mRNA instability,but by CSN1-dependent repression of one or multiple steps in transcriptional and posttranscriptional mechanisms.Thus,in contrast to CSN5/Jab1,which promotes AP-1 activity,CSN1 displays a negative effect on the AP-1 pathway.Finally,we discuss about the dynamic equilibrium of the CSN complexes in regulation of the AP-1 pathway.Tomohiko Tsuge Suchithra Menon Yingchun Tong Ning Wei 2011Protein & Cell2011,2,5:2
