1Low-carbon unit commitment with intensive wind power generation and carbon capture power plant显示文摘The paper proposes a stochastic unit commitment(UC)model to realize the low-carbon operation requirement and cope with wind power prediction errors for power systems with intensive wind power and carbon capture power plant(CCPP).A linear re-dispatch strategy is introduced to compensate the wind power deviation from the spot forecast.The robust optimization technique is employed to obtain a reliable commitment plan against all realizations of wind power within the uncertainty set given by probabilistic forecast.The proposed model is validated with IEEE 39-bus system.The advantages of flexible CCPPs are compared to the normal coal-fueled plants and the impacts of robustness controlling are discussed.Jiaming LI Jinyu WEN Xingning HAN 2015Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2015,3,1:19
2Transmission Network Expansion Planning Considering Uncertainties in Loads and Renewable Energy Resources显示文摘This paper proposes a novel method for transmission network expansion planning(TNEP)that take into account uncertainties in loads and renewable energy resources.The goal of TNEP is to minimize the expansion cost of candidate lines without any load curtailment.A robust linear optimization algorithm is adopted to minimize the load curtailment with uncertainties considered under feasible expansion costs.Hence,the optimal planning scheme obtained through an iterative process would be to serve loads and provide a sufficient margin for renewable energy integration.In this paper,two uncertainty budget parameters are introduced in the optimization process to limit the considered variation ranges for both the load and the renewable generation.Simulation results obtained from two test systems indicate that the uncertainty budget parameters used to describe uncertainties are essential to arrive at a compromise for the robustness and optimality,and hence,offer a range of preferences to power system planners and decision makers.Jinyu Wen Xingning Han Jiaming Li Yan Chen Haiqiong Yi Chang Lu 2015CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2015,1,1:17
3Grid Forming Converters in Renewable Energy Sources Dominated Power Grid:Control Strategy,Stability,Application,and Challenges显示文摘The renewable energy sources(RESs)dominated power grid is an envisaged infrastructure of the future power system,where the commonly used grid following(GFL)control for grid-tied converters suffers from lacking grid support capability,low stability,etc.Recently,emerging grid forming(GFM)control methods have been proposed to improve the dynamic performance and stability of grid-tied converters.This paper reviews existing GFM control methods for the grid-tied converters and compares them in terms of control structure,grid support capability,fault current limiting,and stability.Considering the impact of fault current limiting strategies,a comprehensive transient stability analysis is provided.In addition,this paper explores the typical applications of GFM converters,such as AC microgrid and offshore wind farm high-voltage direct current(OWF-HVDC)integration systems.Finally,the challenges to the GFM converters in future applications are discussed.Haobo Zhang Wang Xiang Weixing Lin Jinyu Wen 2021Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2021,9,6:15
4Minimum Load-curtailment in Transmission Network Planning Considering Integrated Wind Farms显示文摘提出应用鲁棒线性优化理论来研究电网规划中含多个风电场的最小切负荷量计算问题,为含多个风电场的系统安全性研究提供了一条新的思路。根据Seng-Cheol Kang提出的鲁棒线性优化理论,建立电网规划中考虑风电场影响的最小切负荷量模型。该模型以出力上下限和出力期望值来描述风电场的出力,最终转化为一确定性的线性规划问题并进行求解。在计及或不计及发电机调整的情况下,该模型均能够给出最安全的切负荷方案,除此以外还能给出更多介于最可靠与最经济之间的切负荷方案,实现灵活决策;在计及发电机出力可调的情况下,该模型能够给出相应的发电机出力方案;该模型能够初步给出各种切负荷方案下电网规划方案的可靠程度。基于修正的Garver’s 6节点系统和修正的巴西南部46节点系统算例测试结果验证了该方法的有效性。CHEN Yan WEN Jinyu CHENG Shijie 2011中国电机工程学报2011,31,34:14
5Optimal Trade-Off Between Regulation and Wind Curtailment in the Economic Dispatch Problem显示文摘Generator regulation and wind power curtailment are two conflicting ways to deal with the inaccurate prediction and volatility of wind power.This study focuses on planning the day-ahead schedule based on optimal trade-off between regulation of generators and wind curtailment.Compared to traditional economic dispatch methods,the proposed schedule is more robust and adaptive to multiple forecast scenarios instead of a single forecast scenario.The works of this paper are as follows:First,an economic dispatch problem based on multiple scenarios is formulated with the objective of minimizing both generator regulation and wind curtailment.Next,a forecast method for wind power scenarios is given.Finally,the proposed model is verified by comparing with other dispatch models that are based on single forecast scenario.The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method with less wind curtailment,generator regulation,and operational cost.In addition,the penalty factors are set as parameters and the influences on the generators’regulation and wind curtailment are analyzed,providing the reference for system operators with different regulatory purposes.Jinghua Li Jiakun Fang Jinyu Wen Yi Pan Qiang Ding 2015CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2015,1,4:12
6Minimum energy storage for power system with high wind power penetration using p-efficient point theory显示文摘Minimum energy storage(ES)and spinning reserve(SR)for day-ahead power system scheduling with high wind power penetration is significant for system operations.A chance-constrained energy storage optimization model based on unit commitment and considering the stochastic nature of both the wind power and load demand is proposed.To solve this proposed chance-constrained model,it is first converted into a deterministic-constrained model using p-efficient point theory.A single stochastic net load variable is developed to represent the stochastic characteristics of both the wind power and load demand for convenient use with the p-efficient point theory.A probability distribution function for netload forecast error is obtained via the Kernel estimation method.The proposed model is applied to a wind-thermal-storage combined power system.A set of extreme scenarios is chosen to validate the effectiveness of the proposed model and method.The results indicate that the scheduled energy storage can effectively compensate for the net load forecast error,and the increasing wind power penetration does not necessarily require a linear increase in energy storage.LI JingHua WEN JinYu CHENG ShiJie WEI Hua 2014Science China(Information Sciences)2014,57,12:9
7Research on hybrid multi-terminal high-voltage DC technology for offshore wind farm integration显示文摘Multi-terminal high-voltage DC(MTDC)technology is a promising way to transmit large amounts of offshore wind power to the main grids.This paper proposes a hybrid MTDC scheme to integrate several offshore wind farms into the onshore power grids at different locations.A hybrid four-terminal HVDC system comprising two onshore line commutated converters(LCCs)and two voltage source converters(VSCs)connecting an offshore wind farm is constructed in PSCAD/EMTDC.A coordination control scheme based on the VSCs’AC voltage control and the LCCs’DC voltage droop control is designed to ensure smooth system operation and proper power sharing between onshore AC grids.The operational characteristics of the system are analyzed.In addition,a black start-up method without any auxiliary power supply for the VSCs is proposed.The transmission scheme is tested through simulations under various conditions,including start-up,wind speed variation,and the disconnection of one VSC or of one LCC.Peng ZHAN Chenghao LI Jinyu WEN Yu HUA Meiqi YAO Naihu LI 2013Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2013,1,1:9
8Probabilistic small signal stability analysis of power system with wind power and photovoltaic power based on probability collocation method显示文摘Recently, with increasing improvements in the penetration of wind power and photovoltaic power in the world, probabilistic small signal stability analysis(PSSSA) of a power system consisting of multiple types of renewable energy has become a key problem. To address this problem, this study proposes a probabilistic collocation method(PCM)-based PSSSA for a power system consisting of wind farms and photovoltaic farms. Compared with the conventional Monte Carlo method, the proposed method meets the accuracy and precision requirements and greatly reduces the computation; therefore, it is suitable for the PSSSA of this power system. Case studies are conducted based on a 4-machine 2-area and New England systems, respectively. The simulation results show that, by reducing synchronous generator output to improve the penetration of renewable energy, the probabilistic small signal stability(PSSS) of the system is enhanced. 9Research on fast solid state DC breaker based on a natural current zero-crossing point显示文摘The DC fault characteristics of voltage source converter based high voltage direct current(VSC-HVDC)systems are analyzed in this paper.The phenomenon whereby the capacitor on DC side discharges quickly during a DC fault contributes to a large short-circuit fault current.Neither traditional DC breakers nor DC switches can cut off the fault current under this condition.A fast solid state DC breaker design method is proposed in this paper.This method is based on the fault current characteristics of the inverter in multi-terminal HVDC systems(MTDC),where a fault current appears at the natural zerocrossing point near the inverter.At this point,by coordinating the AC breakers near the rectifier,the DC breaker could reliably cut off the DC fault current and protect the system.A detailed model for this fast solid state DC breaker and its operation sequence are studied,based on this design method.Simulations modeling a five-terminal meshed DC grid and a fast DC breaker were carried out with PSCAD/EMTDC using this design method.The results from the simulations confirmed the validity of the design method.Wang XIANG Yu HUA Jinyu WEN Meiqi YAO Naihu LI 2014Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2014,2,1:9

13Corrosion resistance and anti-soiling performance of micro-arc oxidation/graphene oxide/stearic acid superhydrophobic composite coating on magnesium alloys显示文摘Magnesium(Mg)alloys,the lightest metal construction material used in industry,play a vital role in future development.However,the poor corrosion resistance of Mg alloys in corrosion environments largely limits their potential wide applications.Therefore,a micro-arc oxidation/graphene oxide/stearic acid(MAO/GO/SA)superhydrophobic composite coating with superior corrosion resistance was fabricated on a Mg alloy AZ91D through micro-arc oxidation(MAO)technology,electrodeposition technique,and self-assembly technology.The composition and microstructure of the coating were characterized by scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,energy dispersive spectroscopy,and Raman spectroscopy.The effective protection of the MAO/GO/SA composite coating applied to a substrate was evaluated using potentiodynamic polarization,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy tests,and salt spray tests.The results showed that the MAO/GO/SA composite coating with a petal spherical structure had the best superhydrophobicity,and it attained a contact angle of 159.53°±2°.The MAO/GO/SA composite coating exhibited high resistance to corrosion,according to electrochemical and salt spray tests.Dong Wang Chen Ma Jinyu Liu Weidong Li Wei Shang Ning Peng Yuqing Wen 2023International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2023,30,6:3
14Bifurcation analysis for an SMIB power system with series capacitor compensation associated with sub-synchronous resonance显示文摘In this paper,an introduction to the bifurcation theory and its applicability to the study of sub-synchronous resonance (SSR) phenomenon in power system are presented. The continuation and bifurcation analysis software AUTO97 is adopted to investigate SSR for a single-machine-infinite-bus power system with series capacitor compensation. The investigation results show that SSR is the result of unstable limit cycle after bifurcation. When the system exhibits SSR, some complex periodical orbit bifurcations, such as torus bifurcation and periodical fold bifurcation, may happen with the variation of limit cycle. Furthermore, the initial operation condition may greatly influence the ultimate state of the system. 15The design and fault ride through control of un-interrupted DC-DC Autotransformer显示文摘This paper proposed a novel type of DC-DC converter, termed as un-interrupted DC Autotransformer(un-interrupted DC AUTO), which has the capability to ride through DC fault on either side of the converter without blocking any devices. Besides that, the adequately designed converter retains the advantages of DC AUTO technology, namely reduced investment cost and transmission loss. To begin with, the topology and basic attributes of the un-interrupted DC AUTO are illustrated. Then the design goals and the corresponding design procedures are analyzed. Furthermore, an effective control system is proposed to enable the converter steady operation during both normal and faulted conditions.
