1Endoscopic characteristics in predicting prognosis of biopsy-diagnosed gastric low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia显示文摘Background: Endoscopic biopsy can underestimate gastric malignancies as low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia (LGIN). Definitively diagnosed LGIN would progress. This study aimed to evaluate predictive factors to identify malignancies misdiagnosed as LGIN by biopsy and LGIN at high risk of progression.Methods: The clinical records of patients diagnosed with gastric LGIN by endoscopic biopsy who underwent at least two endoscopies during the first year of follow-up between 2007 and 2017 were retrospectively collected. Three endoscopists reviewed photographs of the initial endoscopy, described lesion characteristics, and made endoscopic diagnoses. Logistic regression was used to analyze predictors to identify malignancies underestimated as LGIN. A receiver operating characteristic curve was used to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of these predictors. Patient clinical outcomes of follow-up >1 year were collected. Kaplan-Meier estimates with log-rank tests and Cox proportional hazards regression were used to analyze predictors of progression.Results: Overall, 48 of 182 (26.4%) patients were proven to have malignancies. A single lesion, a large lesion size, and marked intestinal metaplasia (IM) were independent predictors of initially misdiagnosed malignancies. The area under the curve of these predictors was 0.871, with a sensitivity of 68.7% and specificity of 92.5%. Twelve of 98 patients (12.2%) progressed during the 33-month median follow-up period. A whitish appearance, irregular margins, marked IM, and histological diagnosis of LGIN more than twice within the first year were predictors for progression.Conclusions: Lesions diagnosed as LGIN by biopsy with marked IM and other predictors above should be prudently treated for high potential to be malignancies or progress. 2Predicting the Thickness of an Excavation Damaged Zone around the Roadway Using the DA-RF Hybrid Model显示文摘After the excavation of the roadway,the original stress balance is destroyed,resulting in the redistribution of stress and the formation of an excavation damaged zone(EDZ)around the roadway.The thickness of EDZ is the key basis for roadway stability discrimination and support structure design,and it is of great engineering significance to accurately predict the thickness of EDZ.Considering the advantages of machine learning(ML)in dealing with high-dimensional,nonlinear problems,a hybrid prediction model based on the random forest(RF)algorithm is developed in this paper.The model used the dragonfly algorithm(DA)to optimize two hyperparameters in RF,namely mtry and ntree,and used mean absolute error(MAE),rootmean square error(RMSE),determination coefficient(R^(2)),and variance accounted for(VAF)to evaluatemodel prediction performance.A database containing 217 sets of data was collected,with embedding depth(ED),drift span(DS),surrounding rock mass strength(RMS),joint index(JI)as input variables,and the excavation damaged zone thickness(EDZT)as output variable.In addition,four classic models,back propagation neural network(BPNN),extreme learning machine(ELM),radial basis function network(RBF),and RF were compared with the DA-RF model.The results showed that the DARF mold had the best prediction performance(training set:MAE=0.1036,RMSE=0.1514,R^(2)=0.9577,VAF=94.2645;test set:MAE=0.1115,RMSE=0.1417,R^(2)=0.9423,VAF=94.0836).The results of the sensitivity analysis showed that the relative importance of each input variable was DS,ED,RMS,and JI from low to high.Yuxin Chen Weixun Yong Chuanqi Li Jian Zhou 2023Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2023,,9:2

4A new ensemble-based targeted observational method and its application in the TPOS 2020显示文摘Ensemble Kalman filter-based targeted observation is one of the best methods for determining the optimal observational array for oceanic buoy deployment.This study proposes a new algorithm suitable for a‘cross-region and cross-variable’approach by introducing a projection operator into the optimization process.A targeted observational analysis was conducted for El Niño–Southern Oscillation(ENSO)events in the tropical western Pacific for the Tropical Pacific Observation System(TPOS)2020.The prediction target was at the Niño 3.4 region and the first 10 optimal observational sites detected reduced initial uncertainties by 70%,with the best observational array located where the Rossby wave signal dominates.At the vertical level,the most significant contribution was derived from observations near the thermocline.This study provides insights into understanding ENSO-related variability and offers a practical approach to designing an optimal mooring array.It serves as a scientific guidance for designing a TPOS observation network.Weixun Rao Youmin Tang Yanling Wu Zheqi Shen Xiangzhou Song Xiaojing Li Tao Lian Dake Chen Feng Zhou 2023National Science Review2023,10,11:0

6Coach-assistedmulti-agent reinforcement learning framework for unexpected crashed agents显示文摘Multi-agent reinforcement learning is difficult to apply in practice,partially because of the gap between simulated and real-world scenarios.One reason for the gap is that simulated systems always assume that agents can work normally all the time,while in practice,one or more agents may unexpectedly“crash”during the coordination process due to inevitable hardware or software failures.Such crashes destroy the cooperation among agents and lead to performance degradation.In this work,we present a formal conceptualization of a cooperative multi-agent reinforcement learning system with unexpected crashes.To enhance the robustness of the system to crashes,we propose a coach-assisted multi-agent reinforcement learning framework that introduces a virtual coach agent to adjust the crash rate during training.We have designed three coaching strategies(fixed crash rate,curriculum learning,and adaptive crash rate)and a re-sampling strategy for our coach agent.To our knowledge,this work is the first to study unexpected crashes in a multi-agent system.Extensive experiments on grid-world and StarCraft II micromanagement tasks demonstrate the efficacy of the adaptive strategy compared with the fixed crash rate strategy and curriculum learning strategy.The ablation study further illustrates the effectiveness of our re-sampling strategy.Jian ZHAO Youpeng ZHAO Weixun WANG Mingyu YANG Xunhan HU Wengang ZHOU Jianye HAO Houqiang LI 2022Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering2022,23,7:0
