1Understanding unusually high levels of peroxyacetyl nitrate(PAN) in winter in Urban Jinan,China显示文摘Peroxyacetyl nitrate(PAN), as a major secondary pollutant, has gained increasing worldwide attentions, but relevant studies in China are still quite limited. During winter of 2015 to summer of 2016, the ambient levels of PAN were measured continuously by an automatic gas chromatograph equipped with an electron capture detector(GC–ECD) analyzer at an urban site in Jinan(China), with related parameters including concentrations of O3, NO, NO_2, PM_(2.5), HONO,the photolysis rate constant of NO_2 and meteorological factors observed concurrently. The mean and maximum values of PAN concentration were(1.89 ± 1.42) and 9.61 ppbv respectively in winter, and(2.54 ± 1.44) and 13.47 ppbv respectively in summer. Unusually high levels of PAN were observed during severe haze episodes in winter, and the formation mechanisms of them were emphatically discussed. Study showed that high levels of PAN in winter were mainly caused by local accumulation and strong photochemical reactions during haze episodes, while mass transport played only a minor role. Accelerated photochemical reactions(compared to winter days without haze) during haze episodes were deduced by the higher concentrations but shorter lifetimes of PAN, which was further supported by the sufficient solar radiation in the photolysis band along with the high concentrations of precursors(NO_2, VOCs) and HONO during haze episodes. 3Population Genomic Analysis and De Novo Assembly Reveal the Origin of Weedy Rice as an Evolutionary Game显示文摘Crop weediness,especially that of weedy rice(Oryza sativa f.spontanea),remains mysterious.Weedy rice possesses robust ecological adaptability;however,how this strain originated and gradually formed proprietary genetic features remains unclear?Here,we demonstrate that weedy rice at Asian high latitudes(WRAH)is phylogenetically well defined and possesses unselected genomic characteristics in many divergence regions between weedy and cultivated rice.We also identified novel quantitative trait loci underlying weedy-specific traits,and revealed that a genome block on the end of chromosome 1 is associated with rice weediness.To identify the genomic modifications underlying weedy rice evolution,we generated the first de novo assembly of a high-quality weedy rice genome(WR04-6),and conducted a comparative genomics study between WR04-6 with other rice reference genomes.Multiple lines of evidence,including the results of demographic scenario comparisons,suggest that differentiation between weedy rice and cultivated rice was initiated by genetic improvement of cultivated rice and that the essence of weediness arose through semi-domestication.A plant height model further implied that the origin of WRAH can be modeled as an evolutionary game and indicated that strategy-based selection driven by fitness shaped its genomic diversity.Jian Sun Dianrong Ma Liang Tang Minghui Zhao Guangchen Zhangh Wenjia Wang Jiayu Song Xiang Li Zimeng Liu Wenxing Zhang Quan Xu Yuncheng Zhou Jianzhong Wu Toshio Yamamoto Fei Dai Yan Lei Song Li Gang Zhou Hongkun Zheng Zhengjin Xu Wenfu Chen 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,5:9
4Strong ozone production at a rural site in the North China Plain: Mixed effects of urban plumes and biogenic emissions显示文摘Regional ozone(O_3) pollution has drawn increasing attention in China over the recent decade, but the contributions from urban pollution and biogenic emissions have not been clearly elucidated. To better understand the formation of the regional O_3 problem in the North China Plain(NCP), intensive field measurements of O_3 and related parameters were conducted at a rural site downwind of Ji'nan, the capital city of Shandong province, in the summer of 2013. Markedly severe O_3 pollution was recorded, with the O_3 mixing ratios exceeding the Chinese national ambient air quality standard on 28 days(a frequency of 78%) and with a maximum hourly value of 198 ppbv. Extensive regional transport of wellprocessed urban plumes to the site was identified. An observation-constrained chemical box model was deployed to evaluate in situ photochemical O_3 production on two episodes.The results show that the in situ formation accounted for approximately 46% of the observed O_3 accumulation, while the remainder(~54%) was contributed by regional transport of the O_3-laden urban plumes. The in situ ozone production was in a mixed controlled regime that reducing either NOx or VOCs would lead to a reduction of ozone formation. Biogenic VOCs played an important role in the local ozone formation. 6Fabricating Pd isolated single atom sites on C3N4/rGO for heterogenization of homogeneous catalysis显示文摘Metal isolated single atomic sites catalysts have attracted intensive attention in recent years owing to their maximized atom utilization and unique structure.Despite the success of single atom catalyst synthesis,directly anchoring metal single atoms on three-dimensional(3D)macro support,which is promising to achieve the heterogenization of homogeneous catalysis,remains a challenge and a blank in this field.Herein,we successfully fabricate metal single atoms(Pd,Pt,Ru,Au)on porous carbon nitride/reduced graphene oxide(C3N4/rGO)foam as highly efficient catalysts with convenient recyclability.C3N4/rGO foam features two-dimensional microstructures with abundant N chelating sites for the stabilization of metal single atoms and vertically-aligned hierarchical mesostructure that benefits the mass diffusion.The obtained Pdi/C3N4/rGO monolith catalyst exhibits much enhanced activity over its nanoparticle counterpart for Suzuki-Miyaura reaction.Moreover,the Pdi/C3N4/rGO monolith catalyst can be readily assembled in a flow reactor to achieve the highly efficient continuous production of 4-nitro-1,1'-biphenyl through Suzuki-Miyaura coupling.Ninghua Fu Xiao Liang Zhi Li Wenxing Chen Yu Wang Lirong Zheng Qinghua Zhang Chen Chen Dingsheng Wang Qing Peng Lin Gu Yadong Li 2020Nano Research2020,13,4:5
7Acrolein Induces Systemic Coagulopathy via Autophagy-dependent Secretion of von Willebrand Factor in Mice after Traumatic Brain Injury显示文摘Traumatic brain injury(TBI)-induced coagulopathy has increasingly been recognized as a significant risk factor for poor outcomes,but the pathogenesis remains poorly understood.In this study,we aimed to investigate the causal role of acrolein,a typical lipid peroxidation product,in TBI-induced coagulopathy,and further explore the underlying molecular mechanisms.We found that the level of plasma acrolein in TBI patients suffering from coagulopathy was higher than that in those without coagulopathy.Using a controlled cortical impact mouse model,we demonstrated that the acrolein scavenger phenelzine prevented TBI-induced coagulopathy and recombinant ADAMTS-13 prevented acrolein-induced coagulopathy by cleaving von Willebrand factor(VWF).Our results showed that acrolein may contribute to an early hypercoagulable state after TBI by regulating VWF secretion.mRNA sequencing(mRNA-seq)and transcriptome analysis indicated that acrolein over-activated autophagy,and subsequent experiments revealed that acrolein activated autophagy partly by regulating the Akt/mTOR pathway.In addition,we demonstrated that acrolein was produced in the perilesional cortex,affected endothelial cell integrity,and disrupted the blood-brain barrier.In conclusion,in this study we uncovered a novel pro-coagulant effect of acrolein that may contribute to TBI-induced coagulopathy and vascular leakage,providing an alternative therapeutic target.Wenxing Cui Xun Wu Dayun Feng Jianing Luo Yingwu Shi Wei Guo Haixiao Liu Qiang Wang Liang Wang Shunnan Ge Yan Qu 2021Neuroscience Bulletin2021,37,8:3

9Comprehensive understanding on sources of high levels of fine particulate nitro-aromatic compounds at a coastal rural area in northern China显示文摘Nitro-aromatic compounds(NACs)are among the major components of brown carbon(BrC)in the atmosphere,causing negative impacts on regional climate,air quality,and ecological health.Due to the extensive origins,it is still a challenge to figure out the contributions and originating regions for different sources of atmospheric NACs.Here,field observations on fine particulate NACs were conducted at a coastal rural area in Qingdao,China in the winter of 2018 and 2019.The mean total concentrations of fine particulate nitro-aromatic compounds were 125.0±89.5 and 27.7±21.1 ng/m^(3)in the winter of 2018 and 2019,respectively.Among the measured eleven NACs,nitrophenols and nitrocatechols were the most abundant species.Variation characteristics and correlation analysis showed that humidity and anthropogenic primary emissions had significant influences on the NAC abundances.In this study,two tracing methods of the improved spatial concentration weighted trajectory(SCWT)model and the receptor model of positive matrix factorization(PMF)were combined to comprehensively understand the origins of NACs in fine particles at coastal Qingdao.Four major sources were identified,including coal combustion,biomass burning,vehicle exhaust,and secondary formation.Surprisingly,coal combustion was responsible for about half of the observed nitro-aromatic compounds,followed by biomass burning(~30%).The results by SCWT demonstrated that the coal combustion dominated NACs mainly originated from the Shandong peninsula and the areas to the north and southwest,while those dominated by biomass burning primarily came from local Qingdao and the areas to the west.Yueru Jiang Xinfeng Wang Min Li Yiheng Liang Zhiyi Liu Jing Chen Tianyi Guan Jiangshan Mu Yujiao Zhu He Meng Yang Zhou Lan Yao Likun Xue Wenxing Wang 2024Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,1:0
10Multiscale structural design of MnO_(2)@GO superoxide dismutase nanozyme for protection against antioxidant damage显示文摘Rational design of metallic active sites and its microenvironment is critical for constructing superoxide dismutase(SOD)nanozymes.Here,we reported a novel SOD nanozyme design,with employing graphene oxide(GO)as the framework,andδ-MnO_(2)as the active sites,to mimic the natural Mn-SOD.This MnO_(2)@GO nanozyme exhibited multiscale laminated structures with honeycomb-like morphology,providing highly specific surface area for·O_(2)−adsorption and confined spaces for subsequent catalytic reactions.Thus,the nanozyme achieved superlative SOD-like catalytic performance with inhibition rate of 95.5%,which is 222.6%and 1605.4%amplification over GO and MnO_(2)nanoparticles,respectively.Additionally,such unique hierarchical structural design endows MnO_(2)@GO with catalytic specificity,which was not present in the individual component(GO or MnO_(2)).This multiscale structural design provides new strategies for developing highly active and specific SOD nanozymes.Yue Yu Yinuo Zhang Yu Wang Wenxing Chen Zhanjun Guo Ningning Song Minmin Liang 2023Nano Research2023,16,8:0
11Characterization of precipitation in the background of atmospheric pollutants reduction in Guilin: Temporal variation and source apportionment显示文摘Rainfall samples were collected from three observation sites in Guilin from 2013 to 2017, and the chemical composition characteristics of precipitation and the contribution made by different ion sources were analyzed when atmospheric pollutants levels were reduced. The results showed that acid gas emissions and atmospheric pollutant concentrations continued to decline during the study period. However, the change in the volume-weighted mean p H at the three sites suggested that acid rain pollution was not alleviated and began to deteriorate after 2015. The continuing downward trend for alkaline neutralizing ions(Ca^(2+), NH_4^+) in precipitation indicated that the reduction in alkaline neutralizing substances in the atmosphere was an important factor that led to the deterioration in acid rain across Guilin. The principal component analysis and spearman correlation analysis indicated five sources of ions in precipitation. Quantitative assessment of these five sources indicated that fossil fuel combustion contributed the most ions concentration in precipitation at the three sites, followed by agriculture, terrestrial(crustal) sources, marine sources, and biomass burning. Long-distance airflow might affect the acidity, the electrical conductivity(EC), and ion concentrations in precipitation across Guilin. The airflow trajectory from the west and southeast directions corresponded to higher acidity and ion concentrations. According to the current air pollution control strategy planned by Guilin, reducing atmospheric coarse particles and NH_3 at the same time may potentially lead to further deteriorations in acid rain contents.
