2Microbial community structure in an integrated A/O reactor treating diluted livestock wastewater during start-up period显示文摘In order to investigate the correlation between reactor performance and the microorganisms,an integrated A/O reactor was operated for 72 days to treat diluted livestock wastewater.Chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal efficiency increased from 79% to 94%,with total nitrogen (TN) removal efficiency from 37% to 50% (HRT 7.4 hr) when the influent COD and TN were ca.1500 mg/L and 95 mg/L,respectively,and the outlet COD concentration was less than 100 mg/L at the end.Microbial community was monitored during start-up period by denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) based on 16S rRNA gene.DGGE profiles showed that microbial community had changed significantly during the start-up and these shifts were in accordance with the reactor performance.UPGMA clustering analysis showed that 14 anaerobic samples fell into five main groups and so did the aerobic ones,but the grouping patterns were different.Phylogenetic analysis indicated that microbial populations in the anaerobic compartment belonged to Firmicutes,Proteobacteria,Chloroflexi and Bacteroidetes,while Proteobacteria,Bacteroidetes,Firmicutes,Verrucomicrobiae and Nitrospira were present in the aerobic compartment.In the anaerobic compartment,more fermentative and acetogenic bacteria were detected during the start-up while denitrifying bacteria faded away.Two functional populations such as Nitrospira defluvii and Dechloromonas denitrificans were observed when nitrogen removal was high,indicating that simultaneous nitrification and denitrification occurred in the aerobic compartment.Lijiao Ren,Yining Wu,Nanqi Ren,Kun Zhang,Defeng Xing State Key Laboratory of Urban Water Resource and Environment,Harbin Institute of Technology,Harbin 150090,China. 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,5:14
3Photosynthesis, chilling acclimation and the response of antioxidant enzymes to chilling stress in mulberry seedlings显示文摘This study investigates the effects of cold-acclimation in conferring chilling tolerance in seedlings of the mulberry(Morus alba) variety ‘Qiuyu’. Changes in photosynthesis and antioxidant enzymes in chilling acclimatized(CA), and non-acclimatized(NA) seedlings were recorded during chilling stress(3 °C) and a recovery period(25 °C) each for 3 days. The results showed that CA plants had higher net photosynthetic rates(P_n), stomatal conductance(G_s), and maximum photochemical efficiency of photosystem Ⅱ(F_v/F_m) in response to chilling stress compared to NA. The seedlings maintained the same trends during the recovery stage. The responses of Q_A reduction degree (1-q_P) and prime electronic transfer rates(F_o) were lower in acclimatized than in non-acclimatized seedlings. Low-temperature acclimation and chilling stress also caused an increase in leaf proline and soluble sugar contents. Leaf malondialdehyde levels were significantly lower while ascorbate peroxidase(APX) activity was significantly higher in acclimatized seedlings, suggesting that elevated osmolytes and APX confer resistance to chilling temperatures. In this study on the response of mulberry seedlings to chilling stress, we also looked at the recovery process. 4Fuzzy Torque Control of the Bionic Flexible Manipulator Actuated by Pneumatic Muscle Actuators显示文摘A bionic flexible manipulator driven by pneumatic muscle actuator(PMA)can better reflect the flexibility of the mechanism.Current research on PMA mainly focuses on the modeling and control strategy of the pneumatic manipulator system.Compared with traditional electro-hydraulic actuators,the structure of PMA is simple but possesses strong nonlinearity and flexibility,which leads to the difficulty in improving the control accuracy.In this paper,the configuration design of a bionic flexible manipulator is performed by human physiological map,the kinematic model of the mechanism is established,and the dynamics is analyzed by Lagrange method.A fuzzy torque control algorithm is designed based on the computed torque method,where the fuzzy control theory is applied.The hardware experimental system is established.Through the co-simulation contrast test on MATLAB and ADAMS,it is found that the fuzzy torque control algorithm has better tracking performance and higher tracking accuracy than the computed torque method,and is applied to the entity control test.The experimental results show that the fuzzy torque algorithm can better control the trajectory tracking movement of the bionic flexible manipulator.This research proposes a fuzzy torque control algorithm which can compensate the error more effectively,and possesses the preferred trajectory tracking performance.Kai Liu Yining Chen Jiaqi Xu Yang Wu Yonghua Lu Dongbiao Zhao 2019Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2019,32,5:4
5Constructing a V2G-enabled Regional Energy Internet for Cost-efficient Carbon Trading显示文摘The increasing penetration of plug-in electric ve- hicles (PEVs) has highlighted the importance of coordinating ubiquitous distributed energy resources (DERs) via the internet of things (IoT).With the help of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology, PEVs can be aggregated to behave as a storage system, yielding both economic and environmental benefits. In this paper, we propose an optimal bidding framework for a V2G-enabled re- gional energy internet (REI) to participate in day-ahead markets considering carbon trading. The REI operator aims to maximize the net profits from day-ahead markets while anticipating real- time adjustments. A detailed battery model is developed to depict the charging and discharging capability of V2G-enabled PEVs. A two-stage stochastic optimization model is formulated to schedule the operation of PEV fleets against various sources of uncertainties, e.g., the arrival and departure time of PEVs, solar power and real-time prices. 6Cancer-associated adipocyte-derived G-CSF promotes breast cancer malignancy via Stat3 signaling显示文摘Adipocyte is the most predominant cell type in the tumor microenvironment of breast cancer and plays a pivotal role in cancer progression,yet the underlying mechanisms and functional mediators remain elusive.We isolated primary preadipocytes from mammary fat pads of human breast cancer patients and generated mature adipocytes and cancer-associated adipocytes(CAAs)in vitro.The CAAs exhibited significantly different gene expression profiles as assessed by transcriptome sequencing.One of the highly expressed genes in CAAs is granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(G-CSF).Treatment with recombinant human G-CSF protein or stable expression of human G-CSF in triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)cell lines enhanced epithelial–mesenchymal transition,migration,and invasion of cancer cells,by activating Stat3.Accordantly,targeting G-CSF/Stat3 signaling with G-CSF-neutralizing antibody,a chemical inhibitor,or siRNAs for Stat3 could all abrogate CAA-or G-CSF-induced migration and invasion of breast cancer cells.The pro-invasive genes MMP2 and MMP9 were identified as target genes of G-CSF in TNBC cells.Furthermore,in human breast cancer tissues,elevated G-CSF expression in adipocytes is well correlated with activated Stat3 signal in cancer cells.Together,our results suggest a novel strategy to intervene with invasive breast cancers by targeting CAA-derived G-CSF.Li Liu Yudong Wu Cheng Zhang Chong Zhou Yining Li Yi Zeng Chunbo Zhang Rong Li Daya Luo Lieliang Wang Long Zhang Shuo Tu Huan Deng Shiwen Luo Ye-Guang Chen Xiangyang Xiong Xiaohua Yan 2020Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,9:4

8A modified airfoil-based piezoaeroelastic energy harvester with double plunge degrees of freedom显示文摘In this letter,a piezoaeroelastic energy harvester based on an airfoil with double plunge degrees of freedom is proposed to additionally take advantage of the vibrational energy of the airfoil pitch motion.An analytical model of the proposed energy harvesting system is built and compared with an equivalent model using the well-explored pitch-plunge configuration.The dynamic response and average power output of the harvester are numerically studied as the flow velocity exceeds the cut-in speed(flutter speed).It is found that the harvester with double-plunge configuration generates 4%–10% more power with varying flow velocities while reducing 6% of the cut-in speed than its counterpart.Yining Wu Daochun Li Jinwu Xiang Andrea Da Ronch 2016Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Letters2016,6,5:2
9Rotation Control of a 3-DOF Parallel Mechanism Driven by Pneumatic Muscle Actuators显示文摘The pneumatic muscle actuator(PMA)has many advantages,such as good flexibility,high power/weight ratio,but its nonlinearity makes it difficult to build a static mathematical model with high precision.A new method is proposed to establish the model of PMA.The concept of hybrid elastic modulus which is related to the static characteristic of PMA is put forward,and the energy conservation law is used to achieve the expression of the hybrid elastic modulus,which can be fitted out based on experimental data,and the model of PMA can be derived from this expression.At the same time,a 3-DOF parallel mechanism(a new bionic shoulder joint)driven by five PMAs is designed.This bionic shoulder joint adopts the structure of two antagonistic PMAs actualizing a rotation control and three PMAs controlling another two rotations to get better rotation characteristics.The kinematic and dynamic characteristics of the mechanism are analyzed and a new static model of PMA is used to control it.Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of this new static model.LIU Kai CHEN Yining WU Yang XU Jiaqi WANG Yangwei GE Zhishang 2019Transactions of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics2019,36,2:2

14The mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 pathway involved in hepatic gluconeogenesis through peroxisome-proliferator-activated receptorγcoactivator-1a显示文摘Cattle can efficiently perform de novo generation of glucose through hepatic gluconeogenesis to meet post-weaning glucose demand.Substantial evidence points to cattle and non-ruminant animals being characterized by phylogenetic features in terms of their differing capacity for hepatic gluconeogenesis,a process that is highly efficient in cattle yet the underlying mechanism remains unclear.Here we used a variety of transcriptome data,as well as tissue and cell-based methods to uncover the mechanisms of high-efficiency hepatic gluconeogenesis in cattle.We showed that cattle can efficiently convert propionate into pyruvate,at least partly,via high expression of acyl-CoA synthetase short-chain family member 1(ACSS1),propionyl-CoA carboxylase alpha chain(PCCA),methylmalonyl-CoA epimerase(MCEE),methylmalonyl-CoA mutase(MMUT),and succinate-CoA ligase(SUCLG2)genes in the liver(P<0.01).Moreover,higher expression of the rate-limiting enzymes of gluconeogenesis,such as phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase(PCK)and fructose 1,6-bisphosphatase(FBP),ensures the efficient operation of hepatic gluconeogenesis in cattle(P<0.01).Mechanistically,we found that cattle liver exhibits highly active mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1(mTORC1),and the expressions of PCCA,MMUT,SUCLG2,PCK,and FBP genes are regulated by the activation of mTORC1(P<0.001).Finally,our results showed that mTORC1 promotes hepatic gluconeogenesis in a peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ coactivator 1a(PGC-1a)dependent manner.Collectively,our results not only revealed an important mechanism responsible for the quantitative differences in the efficiency of hepatic gluconeogenesis in cattle versus non-ruminant animals,but also established that mTORC1 is indeed involved in the regulation of hepatic gluconeogenesis through PGC-1a.These results provide a novel potential insight into promoting hepatic gluconeogenesis through activated mTORC1 in both ruminants and mammals.Guoyan Wang Jun Zhang Shengru Wu Senlin Qin Yining Zheng Chao Xia Huijun Geng Junhu Yao Lu Deng 2022Animal Nutrition2022,,4:1

16Late Jurassic to early Cretaceous magnetostratigraphy of scientific drilling core LK-1 in the Lingshan Island of Riqingwei Basin,eastern China显示文摘The Sulu orogenic belt is an uplift zone that was formed in the Late Triassic.Several Jurassic to Cretaceous sedimentary successions have been recognized within the Sulu orogenic belt in recent studies,including outcrops that are considered to be related to the newly discovered Riqingwei Basin.This basin has been the focus of extensive study due to its continuous Cretaceous rock sequence,geological location and petroleum resource potential.However,the lack of a consolidated chronology for the strata has precluded a better understanding of stratigraphy,tectonic evolution and resource potential of the Riqingwei Basin.Here,we present the results of a new magnetostratigraphic study of the continental scientific drilling borehole LK-1,which is located on Lingshan Island,offshore Shandong province,eastern China.The goals of this study are to(1)refine the Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous chronostratigraphic framework of the Riqingwei Basin,and(2)investigate the location of the J/K boundary in the Borehole Core LK-1.The observed patterns of the paleomagnetic polarity zone in the LK-1 borehole correlate well with the geomagnetic polarity time scale(GPTS),and the continuous magnetostratigraphy profile defined in this core indicates an age ranging from 146.5 to 125.8 Ma for the samples interval.The sediment accumulation rates(SAR)of LK-1 show one period of high SAR(~10.5 cm kyr^(-1))at 135.3–130.6 Ma and two periods of low SAR(~4.8 and~2.2 cm kyr^(-1))at145.7–135.3 and 130.6–125.8 Ma,respectively.In addition,the magnetostratigraphic results suggest that the Jurassic-Cretaceous(J/K)boundary of the LK-1 is located within the magnetozone N21.2 n(~1254 m).This comprehensive geochronologic framework provides a good correlation of the marine Upper Jurassic to Lower Cretaceous strata in the Riqingwei Basin to other marine strata and continental sequences,in addition to providing a foundation for the study of the structural evolution of eastern China.Yanjun CHENG Zhiping WU Xiaoyu LIU Yaoqi ZHOU Yining DAI Tongjie ZHANG Tengfei ZHOU 2022Science China Earth Sciences2022,65,4:1
17Atherosclerosis,its risk factors,and cognitive impairment in older adults显示文摘Objective To examine the association of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease(ASCVD)and its risk factors with cognitive impairment in older adults.Methods Six hundred and fourteen subjects,aged≥65 years,from one center(2016–2018)underwent clinical,laboratory assessments and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment(Mo CA).Using regression analysis,the relationship between ASCVD and its risk factors was evaluated in subjects with and without cognitive impairment(MoCA score<26).Results Older age(b=-1.3 per 5 years,95%CI:-1.7 to-0.9,P<0.001),history of stroke(b=-1.6,95%CI:-3.0 to-0.3,P=0.01),and myocardial infarction(MI;b=-2.2,95%CI:-3.6 to-0.8,P=0.003)were independently associated with lower MoCA scores,whereas more education(b=1.5 per 3 years,95%CI:1.1 to 1.9,P<0.001),higher body mass index(BMI;b=0.5 per 3 kg/m^2,95%CI:0.0 to 1.0,P=0.04),higher estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR;b=0.8 per 15 U,95%CI:0.1 to 1.4,P=0.03),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF;b=0.4 per 5%,95%CI:0 to 0.8,P=0.04)and statin use(b=1.3,95%CI:0.3 to 2.3,P=0.01)were associated with a higher MoCA score.Cognitive impairment was independently associated with older age(OR=1.51 per 5 yrs,95%CI:1.28 to 1.79,P<0.001),less education(OR=0.55 per 3 years,95%CI:0.45 to 0.68,P<0.001),lower BMI(OR=0.78 per 3 kg/m^2,95%CI:0.62 to 0.98,P=0.03)and higher levels of high sensitivity c-reactive protein(hsCRP;OR=1.08 per 1 mg/L,95%CI:1.02 to 1.15,P=0.01).Conclusions Beyond age,cognitive impairment was associated with prior MI/stroke,higher hsCRP,statin use,less education,lower eGFR,BMI and LVEF.Yun-Li XING Michael A Chen Ying SUN Moni B Neradilek Xi-Ting WU Dai ZHANG Wei HUANG Yining CUI Qi-Qi YANG Hong-Wei LI Xue-Qiao ZHAO 2020Journal of Geriatric Cardiology2020,17,7:1
