| 1 | Pre-trained models for natural language processing: A survey显示文摘Recently, the emergence of pre-trained models(PTMs) has brought natural language processing(NLP) to a new era. In this survey, we provide a comprehensive review of PTMs for NLP. We first briefly introduce language representation learning and its research progress. Then we systematically categorize existing PTMs based on a taxonomy from four different perspectives. Next,we describe how to adapt the knowledge of PTMs to downstream tasks. Finally, we outline some potential directions of PTMs for future research. This survey is purposed to be a hands-on guide for understanding, using, and developing PTMs for various NLP tasks. | QIU XiPeng SUN TianXiang XU YiGe SHAO YunFan DAI Ning HUANG XuanJing | 2020 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,10: | 109 |

| 3 | Response of Freezing/Thawing Indexes to the Wetting Trend under Warming Climate Conditions over the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau during 1961–2010:A Numerical Simulation显示文摘Since the 1990s,the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau(QTP)has experienced a strikingly warming and wetter climate that alters the thermal and hydrological properties of frozen ground.A positive correlation between the warming and thermal degradation in permafrost or seasonally frozen ground(SFG)has long been recognized.Still,a predictive relationship between historical wetting under warming climate conditions and frozen ground has not yet been well demonstrated, despite the expectation that it will become even more important because precipitation over the QTP has been projected to increase continuously in the near future. This study investigates the response of the thermal regime to historical wetting in both permafrost and SFG areas and examines their relationships separately using the Community Land Surface Model version 4.5.Results show that wetting before the 1990s across the QTP mainly cooled the permafrost body in the arid and semiarid zones, with significant correlation coefficients of 0.60 and 0.48,respectively.Precipitation increased continually at the rate of 6.16 mm decade–1 in the arid zone after the 1990s but had a contrasting warming effect on permafrost through a significant shortening of the thawing duration within the active layer. However, diminished rainfall in the humid zone after the 1990s also significantly extended the thawing duration of SFG.The relationship between the ground thawing index and precipitation was significantly negatively correlated(−0.75).The dual effects of wetting on the thermal dynamics of the QTP are becoming critical because of the projected increases in future precipitation. | Xuewei FANG Zhi LI Chen CHENG Klaus FRAEDRICH Anqi WANG Yihui CHEN Yige XU Shihua LYU | 2023 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2023,40,2: | 0 |
| 4 | GCH1 variants contribute to the risk and earlier age-at-onset of Parkinson's disease:a two-cohort case-control study显示文摘Background:Common and rare variants of guanosine triphosphate cyclohydrolase 1(GCH1)gene may play important roles in Parkinson's disease(PD).However, there is a lack of comprehensive analysis of GCH1 genotypes, especially in non-coding regions. The aim of this study was to explore the genetic characteristics of GCH1,including rare and common variants in coding and non-coding regions,in a large population of PD patients in Chinese mainland,as well as the phenotypic characteristics of GCH1 variant carriers. Methods:In the first cohort of this case-control study,we performed whole-exome sequencing in 1555 patients with early-onset or familial PD and 2234 healthy controls;then in the second cohort,whole-genome sequencing was performed in sporadic late-onset PD samples(1962 patients),as well as 1279 controls.Variants at target GCH1 regions were extracted, and then genetic and detailed phenotypic data were analyzed using regression models and the sequence kernel association test.We also performed a meta-analysis to correlate deleterious GCH1 variants with age at onset(AAO)in PD patients. Results:For coding variants,we identified a significant burden of GCH1 deleterious variants in early-onset or familial PD cases compared to controls(1.2%VS 0.1%,P<0.0001).In the analysis of possible regulatory variants in GCH1 non-coding regions,rs12323905(P=0.001,odds ratio=1.19,95%CI 1.07-1.32)was significantly associated with PD,and variant sets in untranslated regions and intron regions,GCH1 brain-specific expression quantitative trait loci, and two possible promoter/enhancer(GH14J054857 and GH14J054880)were suggestively associated with PD.Genotype phenotype correlation analysis revealed that the carriers of GCH1 deleterious variants manifested younger AAO(P<0.0001),and had milder motor symptoms, milder fatigue symptoms and more autonomic nervous dysfunctions.Meta-analysis of six studies demonstrated 6.4-year earlier onset in GCH1 deleterious variant carriers(P=0.0009).Conclusions:The results highlight the importance of deleterious variants and non-coding variants of GCH1 in PD in Chinese mainland and suggest that GCH1 mutation can influence the PD phenotype, which may help design experimental studies to elucidate the mechanisms of GCH1 in the pathogenesis of PD. | Hong-xu Pan Yu-wen Zhao Jun-pu Mei Zheng-huan Fang Yige Wang Xun Zhou Yang-jie Zhou Rui Zhang Kai-lin Zhang Li Jiang Qian Zeng Yan He Zheng Wang Zhen-hua Liu Qian Xu Qi-ying Sun Yang Yang Ya-cen Hu Ya-se Chen Juan Du Li-fang Lei Hai-nan Zhang Chun-yu Wang Xin-xiang Yan Lu Shen Hong Jiang Jie-qiong Tan Jin-chen Li Bei-sha Tang Ji-feng Guo | 2020 | Translational Neurodegeneration2020,9,3: | 0 |
| 5 | Phytoplanktonic biogeography in the subtropical coastal waters,East China Sea along intensive anthropogenic stresses: roles of environmental versus spatial factors显示文摘Understanding the relative roles of local environmental effects and spatial effects on phytoplankton community is of essential importance to study the biogeography of them at regional scale. However, the determinants that driving the biogeography of phytoplankton communities in the coastal area of northern Zhejiang still remained unclear. We surveyed phytoplankton community compositions in water columns associated with environmental and spatial influences across five subzones that geographically covering this region over four seasons. Diatoms and dinoflagellates were recorded as the main dominant groups and Coscinodiscus oculs-iridis, Coscinodiscus jonesianus, and Skeletonema costatum, were identified as the major abundant species existing in all seasons.Spatially structured environmental conditions, rather than pure spatial or environmental factors, substantially shaped the biogeography of phytoplankton community, with the former mainly comprised of water temperature, dissolved oxygen, phosphate, pH, and salinity, and the latter referring to a non-negligible factor. This study was the first integrated research that combining environmental filtering with spatial factors in structuring phytoplankton communities at a complete tempo-spatial scale. Our results may facilitate to the further study of harmful algal blooms early-warning in this region. | Ran Ye Haibo Zhang Yige Yu Qing Xu Dandi Shen Min Ren Lian Liu Yanhong Cai | 2023 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2023,42,4: | 0 |
