Analytical solutions for characteristic radii of circular roadway surrounding rock plastic zone and their application显示文摘In the non-uniform stress field, the surrounding rock plastic zone of the circular roadway shows different shapes under the different confining pressure conditions. Based on the boundary shape characteristics of the plastic zone, the characteristic radii of the plastic zone were proposed, namely the horizontal, longitudinal and medial axis radii, which could reflect the plastic zone shapes characteristics and classify the sizes of the key parts. On the theoretical basis of elastic-plastic mechanics, analytical solutions for the characteristic radii were obtained by theoretical deduction, and the relationships between the characteristic radii and key influencing factors were analyzed. Finally, the evaluation criterion of the circular roadway surrounding rock plastic zone shapes, evaluation criterion of the location of potential hazards caused by the roadway surrounding rock and evaluation critical points of roadway dynamic disasters based on characteristic radii were proposed. This work could provide a theoretical basis for stability analysis of the surrounding rock, support design, and guide the prevention and control of dynamic roadway disasters. | Xiaofei Guo Zhiqiang Zhao Xu Gao Xiangye Wu Nianjie Ma | 2019 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2019,29,2: | 9

Information acquisition technology for small hydropower stations in remote areas based on high-and low-orbit satellites显示文摘With a lack of coverage in private and public power communication networks, especially for collection of information from hydropower stations in remote areas, communication coverage is a significant issue.Satellite communication provides a large coverage area suitable for a variety of services and is less affected by geographical factors;moreover, the costs are independent of the communication distance. This study investigates information acquisition technology for small hydropower stations in remote areas using high-and low-orbit satellites. The information collection needs of small hydropower stations in remote areas are analyzed, and an information acquisition system is designed using high-and low-orbit satellites. For network security protection, network anomaly detection technology based on a support vector machine algorithm is proposed. The effectiveness of information collection was evaluated and verified for small hydropower plants in remote areas. The system provides technical support for“full coverage, full collection, and full monitoring”of the measurement automation information acquisition system. | Zanhong Wu Xiangye Chen Guanxian Wu | 2021 | Global Energy Interconnection2021,4,5: | 1

Revolutionizing diabetic wound healing:The power of microneedles显示文摘Diabetic wounds significantly affect patient quality of life.Microneedles are a promising treatment to accelerate wound healing owing to their high drug-loading capacity and efficient drug delivery;however, few studies to date have comprehensively reviewed microneedles for diabetic wound healing. This up-to-date review summarizes the research progress in microneedles for diabetic wound healing, including manufacturing materials and techniques, structures, designs, release mechanisms, delivery substances, and their specific effects. This study showed that most microneedles designed for diabetic wounds are made of synthetic polymers and/or natural materials using polydimethylsiloxane micromolding. The geometric structure and design directly influence penetration ability and drug delivery capacity.Microneedles can deliver antibiotics, hypoglycemic agents, traditional Chinese medicines, metal ions, growth factors, exosomes, stem cells, and microorganisms, thus promoting diabetic wound healing through diverse mechanisms, such as antibacterial,anti-inflammatory,antioxidant,hypoglycemic,and angiogenic activities,at different stages of the healing process. In conclusion, microneedles are promising drug delivery systems for the treatment of diabetic wounds. | Chun Liang Ren Wang Tian He Dongsheng Chen Guangliang Zhang Xiangye Yin Hongyu Wang Jiale Xie Yujing Li Youbai Chen | 2023 | Chinese Journal Of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery2023,5,4: | 0
A Bionic Starfish Adsorption Crawling Soft Robot显示文摘A variety of soft wall-climbing robots have been developed that can move in certain patterns. Most of these soft robots can only move on conventional surfaces and lack adaptability to complex surfaces.Improving the adaptability of soft robots on complex surfaces is still a challenging problem. To this end,we study the layered structure of the starfish tube foot and the valve flap structure in the water vascular system, and use an ultrasonic stress detector to study the stiffness distribution of the arm structure.Inspired by the motion of the starfish,we present a bionic soft wall-climbing robot, which is driven by two groups of pneumatic feet and achieves body bending through active adaptation layers. We design the structure of the foot to flex to provide driving force, and there are suction cups at the end of the foot to provide suction. The soft foot has a simple structure design, adapts to a variety of surfaces, and does not damage the surface of the substrate.Variable stiffness layers achieve stiffness changes by the principle of line blocking. The Central Pattern Generator theory is introduced to coordinately control the multiple feet of the robot. After experiments,we verify the adaptability of the soft robot to curved surfaces. The research may provide a reference for the design and development of crawling soft robots on complex surfaces. | Xiangang Huang Chenghao Zhang Wenqi Feng Xiangye Zhang Deyuan Zhang Yanqiang Liu | 2024 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2024,21,1: | 0

Oral health-related quality of life between Chinese and American orthodontic patients: A two-center cross-sectional study显示文摘Background:Although oral health-related quality of life(OHRQoL)in orthodontic patients has been assessed in the past,to date,no study has compared the OHRQoL between two nations. We aimed to compare the OHRQoL between Chinese and American orthodontic patients. Methods:We conducted a two-center questionnaire-based cross-sectional study among patients who underwent orthodontic treatments at the Chinese PLA General Hospital(PLAGH)in Beijing,China and Massachusetts General Hospital(MGH)in Boston,Massachusetts,United States.Candidate variables included the participating center, patients’age, sex,Angle’s classification of malocclusion, evaluation stage, and appliances used. The primary outcome was patients’OHRQoL assessed with the Oral Health Impact Profile-14(OHIP-14).Descriptive statistics, stratification, and univariate and multivariate analyses were performed. Results:The average age was lower for PLAGH patients than for MGH patients(21.1±7.9 vs.33.1±14.6 years,P<0.001).The most common type of malocclusion was Angle’s Class III malocclusion at PLAGH(39%)and Class I malocclusion at MGH(59.5%).Clear aligners were used in 34.1%and 2.7%of the patients at MGH and PLAGH,respectively.OHIP-14 scores were lower for PLAGH patients than for MGH patients(18.4±4.7 vs.22.3±7.4,P<0.001),particularly in functional limitation, psychological discomfort/disability,and handicap.Univariate regression analysis demonstrated that participating center, age,Class I malocclusion, and the use of clear aligners were significantly associated with overall OHIP-14 scores.Multivariate regression analysis demonstrated that patients at PLAGH were associated with lower OHIP-14 scores(coefficient:-3;95%CI:-5,-1.3;P=0.001),and age was positively associated with OHIP-14 scores(coefficient:0.1;95%CI:0.004,0.13;P=0.038).Conclusion:Chinese orthodontic patients had lower OHIP-14 scores, indicating a higher OHRQoL than American patients. In addition to the younger age, this difference may be attributed to the different ethical, cultural, educational, and socioeconomic background of Chinese and American orthodontic patients. | Youbai Chen Tianqi Li Yujian Xu Jiahua Xing Weiqian Jiang Xiangye Yin Haizhong Zhang Meredith August Katherine P.Klein Tong Zhang | 2022 | Chinese Journal Of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery2022,4,4: | 0
