1Dark matter direct search sensitivity of the PandaX-4T experiment显示文摘The Panda X-4T experiment, a 4-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1-10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9 × 10^(-5) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8 × 10^(-7) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). 3Urban flood inundation and damage assessment based on numerical simulations of design rainstorms with different characteristics显示文摘In the context of global climate change and urbanization,urban flooding is an important type of natural disaster that affects urban development,especially in China,which is experiencing rapid urbanization.In the past 10 years,urban flooding events have caused huge disaster losses in Chinese cities.This has resulted in significant negative effects on the urban infrastructure,socioeconomic systems,and urban residents,thus causing widespread concern.Studies have confirmed the change in extreme rainstorms is due to the changing environments in many cities globally.Conducting studies on the impact of these rainstorms with different characteristics for urban flooding is valuable for coping with unfavorable situations.In addition,numerical simulations provide an economical and viable means to perform these studies.This paper presents a numerical model of Xiamen Island in China.Simulations were conducted for 12 design rainstorm events with different return periods,rain patterns,and durations.The results indicate that,in the case of an equal rainfall amount,the rainfall intensity is the key factor that affects the inundated area,depth,and damages.However,the rainfall intensity is not the only determining factor;the rainfall pattern also affects the inundations.In regard to the rainfall pattern,a higher rainfall peak coefficient usually leads to severe urban inundation and damage.As a result,the lag time would be shorter,which may further exacerbate the impact of urban flood disasters.The results of this study provide insights into managing flood risks,developing urban flood prevention strategies,and designing flood prevention measures.MEI Chao LIU JiaHong WANG Hao LI ZeJin YANG ZhiYong SHAO WeiWei DING XiangYi WENG BaiSha YU YingDong YAN DianYi 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,11:5

6Maillard reaction in Chinese household-prepared stewed pork balls with brown sauce:potentially risky and volatile products显示文摘The stewed pork balls with brown sauce(SPB-BS)in China is well known for its delicacy and preferred by consumers.Maillard reaction(MR)is widespread in SPB-BS due to the use of sugar,meat and sauce in the thermal process.However,there is a lack of research on its risk and flavor by MR.By solid phase extraction combined with HPLC-MS,4 kinds of harmful compounds including acrylamide(AA),heterocyclic aromatic amines(HAAs),4-methylimidazole(4-MEI)and furan were analyzed in SPB-BS and their amounts ranged 0.05–0.50 mg/kg.The quantitative formula was proposed to evaluate the risk value of the SPB-BS,after taking into account the content,acceptable daily intake(ADI)and carcinogenicity of each compound.The risk values were in range of 0.57–37.93,suggesting that the risk caused by MR in SPB-BS was low.By head space-solid phase microextraction combined with GC-MS,57 volatile compounds in SPB-BS were identified with the dominant contribution of alcohols,aldehydes,acids and esters.Based on the structures of these compounds and the composition of SPB-BS,lipid oxidation and MR are inferred to be responsible for the formation of the harmful and volatile compounds.In addition,the added sauces and oil provides the main precursors to form the harmful and volatile compounds in SPB-BS,so it is necessary to point out a balance between them in the further study.He Li Xiangyi Tang Chunjian Wu Shujuan Yu 2021Food Science and Human Wellness2021,10,2:2

16Coupled heat-fluid-solid numerical study on heat extraction potential of hot dry rocks based on discrete fracture network model显示文摘Fracture networks within hot dry rock(HDR)geothermal reservoirs are complex,and heat extraction via water injection is thus a coupled process of heat-fluid-solid multifield.In this paper,utilizing the theory of normally distributed random functions,we develop a corresponding pre-processing subprogram to establish a discrete network model of complex fracture distribution in HDR reservoirs;then construct a heat-fluid-solid finite element model for heat extraction via water injection and compare the numerical solution with the analytical solution of the one-dimensional non-isothermal consolidation problem for verification.The numerical simulation results show that the main factors affecting the heat extraction efficiency of HDR reservoirs include fracture width,fracture density,fracture permeability,and matrix permeability.When a HDR reservoir is injected with water for heat extraction,there is a certain threshold value of these influential parameters,beyond which the outlet temperature drops significantly,resulting in an obvious thermal breakthrough.When injecting water for heat extraction,the values of these parameters should be controlled and kept at a reasonable level,otherwise,the HDR reservoir may enter a thermal breakthrough stage in advance,which is not conducive for long-period heat extraction.Influenced by the random distribution of complex fractures,the leading edge of the cold front may present an irregular distribution.During the process of heat extraction,the stress gradually changes from a compressional state to a tensile state,which induces further damage to the HDR reservoir.Daobing Wang Haiyan Zhu Marembo Micheal Xuanhe Tang Qin Li Xiangyi Yi Dongliang Sun Bo Yu Qiang Liu 2023Energy Geoscience2023,4,4:0
17Clinical Characteristics and Durations of Hospitalized Patients with COVID-19 in Beijing: A Retrospective Cohort Study显示文摘Objective:To provide information on clinical characteristics and different durations of COVID-19 and to identify the potential risk factors for longer hospitalization of patients with COVID-19.Methods:In this retrospective study,we enrolled 77 patients(age 52±20 years;44.2%males)with laboratory-confi rmed COVID-19 admitted to Beijing YouAn Hospital between January 21 and February 8,2020.Epidemiological,clinical,and radiological data on admission were collected;complications and outcomes were followed up until February 26,2020.The end point of the study was discharge alive within 2 weeks.Cox proportional-hazards regression was performed to identify risk factors for longer hospitalization.Results:Of 77 patients,there were 34 males(44.2%),24(31.2%)with comorbidities,22(28.6%)with lymphopenia,20(26.0%)with severe COVID-19,and 28(36.4%)with complications.By the end of follow-up,64 patients(83.1%)were discharged home,eight remained in hospital,and fi ve had died.Thirty-six patients(46.8%)were discharged within 14 days and thus reached the study end point,including 34 of the 57 patients with nonsevere COVID-19(59.6%)and two of the 20 patients with severe COVID-19(10%).The overall cumulative probability of the end point was 48.3%.Hospital length of stay and the duration from exposure to discharge for the 64 discharged patients were 13(10-16.5)days and 23(18-24.5)days,respectively.A multivariable stepwise Cox regression model showed that bilateral pneumonia on CT scan,shorter time from illness onset to admission,severity of disease,and lymphopenia were independently associated with longer hospitalization.Conclusions:COVID-19 has a shorter duration of disease and hospital length of stay than severe acute respiratory syndrome.Bilateral pneumonia on CT scan,shorter period from illness onset to admission,lymphopenia,and severity of disease are the risk factors for longer hospitalization of patients with COVID-19.Wen Zhao Xiangyi Zha Ning Wang Dongzeng Li Aixin Li Shikai Yu 2021Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications2021,,3:0

19Grain boundary construction and properties enhancement for hot deformed(Ce,La,Y)-Fe-B magnet by a two-step diffusion process显示文摘The rare earth-iron-boron magnets based on high abundance rare earths(REs)show potential for costeffective permanent magnets but their hard magnetic properties have to be greatly improved.The grain boundary diffusion process(GBDP)is known as an effective way to improve the coercivity of Nd-Fe-B magnets,however,the conventional diffusion method faces a challenge for Ce-based magnets since there is no enough continuous GB layer as the diffusion channel.Here,a two-step(Nd-Cu doping followed by Nd-Cu diffusion)GBDP was introduced for hot deformed(Ce,La,Y)-Fe-B magnet,and the excellent magnetic properties ofμ0Hc=0.63 T,μ0Mr=0.68 T,and(BH)max=72.4 kJ/m^(3)were achieved.The Nd-Cu doping helps the formation of RE-rich GB layer,and then it acts as the diffusion channel for increasing the ef-ficiency of the subsequent Nd-Cu diffusion and results in the increased volume fraction of continuously distributed GB phase,whose paramagnetism was verified by 57Fe Mössbauer spectrometry.Those paramagnetic GB phases help to form the discontinuous domain walls,as observed by Lorentz transmission electron microscopy,and break the magnetic exchange coupling of RE2Fe14B grains.It thus contributes to the coercivity enhancement of the hot deformed magnet with two-step diffusion,which is further proved by micromagnetic simulation.This study proposes a potential technique to prepare anisotropic hot deformed(Ce,La,Y)-Fe-B magnet with high cost-performance.Xuefeng Liao Weiwei Zeng Lizhong Zhao Qing Zhou Jiayi He Wei Li Xiangyi Liu Hongya Yu Xiaolian Liu Haoyang Jia Jean-Marc Greneche Xuefeng Zhang Zhongwu Liu 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,34:0
