1Effects of Wen Dan Tang on insomnia-related anxiety and levels of the brain-gut peptide Ghrelin显示文摘Ghrelin, a brain-gut peptide that induces anxiety and other abnormal emotions, contributes to the effects of insomnia on emotional behavior. In contrast, the traditional Chinese Medicine remedy Wen Dan Tang reduces insomnia-related anxiety, which may perhaps correspond to changes in the brain-gut axis. This suggests a possible relationship between Wen Dan Tang's pharmacological mechanism and the brain-gut axis. Based on this hypothesis, a sleep-deprived rat model was induced and Wen Dan Tang was administered using oral gavage during model establishment. Wen Dan Tang significantly reduced insomnia-related anxiety and prevented Ghrelin level decreases following sleep deprivation, especially in the hypothalamus. 2Exosomes: roles and therapeutic potential in osteoarthritis显示文摘Exosomes participate in many physiological and pathological processes by regulating cell–cell communication, which are involved in numerous diseases, including osteoarthritis(OA). Exosomes are detectable in the human articular cavity and were observed to change with OA progression. Several joint cells, including chondrocytes, synovial fibroblasts, osteoblasts, and tenocytes, can produce and secrete exosomes that influence the biological effects of targeted cells. 3ADRC based control for a class of input time delay systems显示文摘This paper is concerned with the control design and the theoretical analysis for a class of input time-delay systems with stable, critical stable or unstable poles. In order to overcome the time delay, a novel feed-forward compensation active disturbance rejection control(FFC-ADRC) approach is proposed. It combines advantages of the Smith predictor and the traditional active disturbance rejection control(ADRC). The tracking differentiator(TD) is designed to predict the control signal, which adds an anticipatory control to the control signal and allows a higher observer bandwidth to obtain better disturbance rejection. The modified extended state observer(ESO) is designed to estimate both system states and the total disturbances(internal disturbance, uncertainties and delayed disturbance). Then the Lyapunov theory and the theory of the input-output stability are applied to prove the asymptotic stability of the closed-loop control system. 6Efficacy of Wumei Baijiang prescription(乌梅败酱方)on regulatory T cells/helper T cells Immune balance in mice with ulcerative colitis显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To observe the therapeutic effect of Wumei Baijiang prescription(乌梅败酱方),empirical prescription of Lu Zhizheng,on experimental ulcerative colitis(UC)mice,and to investigate the mechanism of the prescription in UC from the perspective of the immune balance of regulatory T cells(Treg)and helper T cells(Th17).METHODS:Sixty C57 BL/6 mice were randomly divided into 6 groups:normal group,model group,Chinese medicine group(high,medium and low dose group of Wumei Baijiang prescription)and control group(mesalazine sustained-release granules).Except for the normal group,the other groups used 2.5%dextran sulfate sodium to induce UC mice model.At the end of the model,the Chinese medicine group was given high,medium and low dose administration of Wumei Baijiang prescription,the control group was given slow-release granules of mesalazine,and the model group was given equal volume saline for 10 d.The changes of food intake,body weight,disease activity index(DAI)score,length of large intestine and histopathology were observed.The number of Treg,Th17,CD4+,CD8+cells in spleen was detected by flow cytometry.The expression of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-10(IL-10)and C-reactive protein(CRP)in serum was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.RESULTS:The middle and high-dose groups of Wumei Baijiang prescription were superior to the model group in terms of increasing food intake and body weight of colitis mice,restoring colon morphology,improving pathological damage,and reducing DAI(P<0.05).There was no statistical difference with the mesalazine group(P>0.05).Compared with the model group,the spleen Treg and CD4+of the mice in the high and middle dose groups of Wumei Baijiang prescription were higher,while Th17 and CD8+were lower(P<0.05),and there was no statistical difference compared with the mesalazine group(P>0.05).In addition,compared with the model group,the serum levels of TNF-αand CRP in mice with high and middle doses of Wumei Baijiang prescription and mesalazine group were lower(P<0.05),and IL-10 content was higher(P<0.05).CONCLUSIONS:Wumei Baijiang prescription can improve the general conditions of colitis mice,such as diarrhea,hematochezia,weight loss,and mucosal damage.The mechanism may be related to the regulation of Treg/Th17 immune balance.SU Xiaolan ZHANG Tao GUO Song WANG Xin CHEN Lin WEI Wei 2022Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2022,42,1:4
7Genetic dissection of husk number and length across multiple environments and fine-mapping of a major-effect QTL for husk number in maize(Zea mays L.)显示文摘Husk number(HN)and husk length(HL)influence the mechanical harvesting of maize grain.We investigated the genetic basis of HN and HL using a population of 204 recombinant inbred lines phenotypically evaluated in five environments.The two husk traits showed broad phenotypic variation and high heritability.Nine stable quantitative trait loci(QTL)were identified by single-environment mapping,comprising four QTL for HN and five for HL,and three QTL explained>10%of the phenotypic variation.Joint mapping revealed 22 additive QTL and 46 epistatic QTL.Both additive and epistatic(additive×additive)effects as well as a few large-effect QTL and some minor-effect QTL appeared to contribute to the genetic architecture of HN and HL.The QTL for HN located on chromosome 7,q HN7,which accounted for^20%of phenotypic variation,was detected in all five environments.q HN7 was fine-mapped to a 721.1 kb physical region based on the maize B73 Ref Gen_v3 genome assembly.Within this interval,four genes associated with plant growth and development were selected as candidate genes.The results will be useful for improvement of maize husk traits by molecular breeding and provide a basis for the cloning of q HN7.Guangfei Zhou Yuxiang Mao Lin Xue Guoqing Chen Huhua Lu Mingliang Shi Zhenliang Zhang Xiaolan Huang Xudong Song Derong Hao 2020The Crop Journal2020,8,6:2

16CsTRM5 regulates fruit shape via mediating cell division direction and cell expansion in cucumber显示文摘Fruit shape and size are important appearance and yield traits in cucumber,but the underlying genes and their regulatory mechanisms remain poorly understood.Here we identified a mutant with spherical fruits from an Ethyl Methane Sulfonate(EMS)-mutagenized library,named the qiu mutant.Compared with the cylindrical fruit shape in 32X(wild type),the fruit shape in qiu was round due to reduced fruit length and increased fruit diameter.MutMap analysis narrowed the candidate gene in the 6.47 MB range on Chr2,harboring the FS2.1 locus reported previously.A single-nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)(11359603)causing a truncated protein of CsaV3_2G013800,the homolog of tomato fruit shape gene SlTRM5,may underlie the fruit shape variation in the qiu mutant.Knockout of CsTRM5 by the CRISPR-Cas9 system confirmed that CsaV3_2G013800/CsTRM5 was the causal gene responsible for qiu.Sectioning analysis showed that the spherical fruit in qiu resulted mainly from increased and reduced cell division along the transverse and longitudinal directions,respectively.Meanwhile,the repressed cell expansion contributed to the decreased fruit length in qiu.Transcriptome profiling showed that the expression levels of cell-wall-related genes and abscisic acid(ABA)pathway genes were significantly upregulated in qiu.Hormone measurements indicated that ABA content was greatly increased in the qiu mutant.Exogenous ABA application reduced fruit elongation by inhibiting cell expansion in cucumber.Taken together,these data suggest that CsTRM5 regulates fruit shape by affecting cell division direction and cell expansion,and that ABA participates in the CsTRM5-mediated cell expansion during fruit elongation in cucumber.Yang Xie Xiaofeng Liu Chengzhen Sun Xiaofei Song Xiaoli Li Haonan Cui Jingyu Guo Liu Liu Ao Ying Zeqin Zhang Xueyun Zhu Liying Yan Xiaolan Zhang 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,3:1

19Synthesis of pomegranate-shaped micron ZnMn_(2)O_(4) with enhanced lithium storage capability显示文摘As high capacity anode materials,spinel-type transition metal oxides have a bottleneck of poor cyclic stability.Nano structure and carbon loading are common modification approaches,while the high cost is unaffordable for industrial implementation.In this study,micron scale zinc manganate was synthesized by solvothermal plus calcination process.The pomegranate-shaped ZnMn_(2)O_(4)(p-ZMO)was obtained using solvent of ethylene glycol,and the microsphere-shaped ZnMn2O_(4)(m-ZMO)was obtained using water.During electrochemical testing,the p-ZMO anode delivered larger charge capacity of 726 mAh g^(-1) at 0.2 Ag^(-1) than 589 mAh g^(-1) of m-ZMO.Even over 1000 cycles at 1 Ag^(-1),the p-ZMO still maintained a reversible capacity of 506 mAh g^(-1)(much higher than 372 mAh g^(-1) of graphite anode),with a superior retention of 84%.It indicates that this work develops an effective strategy to prepare high-performance transition metal oxides for anode materials of lithium-ion batteries.Ying Zhang Pu Zhang Yue Xu Xiaolan Song Hui Wang Ting Ma 2021Journal of Materiomics2021,7,4:1
