A set of full vibrational energy spectra for some electronic states of N2 molecule are studied using the algebraic method (AM) suggested recently, and the corresponding accurate molecular dissociation energies are evaluated using the proposed new formula and high-lying AM vibrational energies. | 12 | Effects of ammonium and nitrate on encystment and growth of Scrippsiella trochoidea显示文摘To avoid unfavorable environmental conditions, Scrippsiella trochoidea is capable of forming a resting cyst in the process of growth. In the present study,we investigated the effects of nitrate and ammonium on the growth and encystment of S. trochoidea. We incubated S.trochoidea in modified f/2 media without nitrogen and silicate in flasks. The flasks were divided into two groups.Nitrate was added as a nitrogen source in the first group,and ammonium was added in the second group. The concentrations of the nitrogen compounds were 0, 10, 30, 60,and 90 lmol/L. The results indicate that NO3--N favors cell growth, and the cultures with a higher concentration of NO3--N were ineffective at forming cysts. In contrast,NH4--N promoted cell growth and cyst formation. At similar concentrations as NO3--N, NH4--N had a toxic effect on cell growth and increased the cyst formation ratio.Thus, the NH4--N concentration is an important factor for controlling encystment. | 16 | Nano-and microphytoplankton community characteristics in brown tide bloom-prone waters of the Qinhuangdao coast,Bohai Sea, China显示文摘Since 2009, the newly recorded species Aureococcus anophagefferens has successively induced brown tides in the Qinhuangdao coastal waters of the Bohai Sea. Here, we focus on the phytoplankton community structure in this region and try to point out the biological background characteristics of the outbreaks of successive brown tides. We analyzed species composition,cell abundance, diversity indices and size-fractionated chlorophyll a(Chl-a) concentration monthly from March 2013 to January2014. The phytoplankton community, as observed by microscopy, underwent succession from nano-celled chained diatoms to dinoflagellates in the spring and summer, and then to micro-celled diatoms and nano-celled chained diatoms as the most prominent groups in the subsequent autumn and winter. Canonical correspondence analysis revealed that changes in the abundance of diatoms were related to nutrient availability, especially of nitrogen, while water temperature was the crucial factor influencing the abundance of dinoflagellates and A. anophagefferens. Considering the contribution of nano-celled chained species to the micro-sized Chl-a,small phytoplankton(<20 μm) composed the majority of total Chl-a and were generally abundant during our study. | 19 | Rock slope stability evaluation in static and seismic conditions for left bank of Jinsha River Bridge along Lijiang-Xamgyi'nyilha railway, China显示文摘Jinsha River Bridge is located along the Lijiang-Xamgyi'nyilha railway on the southeastern Tibet plateau; it is an area with a high prevalence of earthquakes. The bridge abutments were designed to be constructed in river bank slopes, where rocks are controlled by two sets of joint planes that significantly influence the stability of the left bank slope. According to the engineering-geological conditions and the characteristics of discontinuities, strength properties of the rock mass were obtained based on Barton model and direct shear test. Numerical analyses were performed using FLAC3D software to examine the slope's response to seismic loading. Then in order to evaluate the damage trends of the rock mass under the different loading conditions, a calculation model based on the geological parameters and slope stability was simulated and analyzed using the discrete element numerical simulation program UDEC (Universal Distinct Element Code), and the effect of degradation of discontinuities on the slope stability was investigated. The results show that the destruction of rock mass under the gravity, bridge foundation, and seismic load are mainly concentrated within 30 m depth of slope, and the slope under loading may slide along joint planes. In addition, the dynamic analysis by amplification of the input loading indicates that instability occurs to the bank slope at a height of about 200 m, and rock blocks will fail under seismic load. | 20 | A New Method of Establishing Orthotopic Bladder Transplantable Tumor in Mice显示文摘<正>Objective The present study aims to find a convenient,rapid,and stable method to establish bladder tumor in mice. Methods Female Balb/C-nu-nu nude mice(or female T739 mice) were narcotized by sodium pentobarbital at a dosage of 60 mg/ kg.The stylet of the 24# venous retention needles was bent in a 5°to 7°angle at a distance of 15 mm from the needlepoint to form a circle with 2.61 mm to 3.66 mm radius when the stylet is rotated.The pipe casing was lubricated with liquid paraffin,and inserted into the bladder cavity.The drift angle stylet was inserted into the pipe casing slowly,rotated for five times,and then pulled out.A cell suspension(0.1 mL) of approximately 1×10~6 T24 cells(or BTT cells) was then injected immediately. Results A total of 60 T739 mice and 60 Balb/C-nu-nu nude mice were inoculated with BTT cells and T24 cells,respectively.The bladder tumor incidence and the average survival time of the tumor-bearing mice were 100%and(26.69±9.24) d and 100%and (34.59±9.8) d for the T739 mice and Balb/C-nu-nu nude mice,respectively.
