| 1 | Health risk assessment of dietary exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in Taiyuan, China显示文摘Sixteen polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) were determined in 24 duplicate-diet samples from people in Taiyuan during summer and winter in 2009. Dietary intake of PAHs for 2862 participants was subsequently estimated by a survey in Taiyuan. Results from these 24 samples were compared with a raw food study in Taiyuan in 2008. Three main sources of dietary PAHs are vegetables, wheat flour and fruits, the sum of which contributes 75.95% of PAHs in dietary food. Compared to the estimated value in raw food, much more B[a]Peq(benzo[a]pyrene equivalents) were detected in food samples collected in the duplicate-diet study in Taiyuan(60.75 ng/day). | 5 | DNA methylation and alternative splicing modulate FBXW11 gene expression in Holstein bull testis and are correlated with sperm quality显示文摘F-box and WD-40 domain protein 11(FBXW11)is an important component of the E3 ubiquitin-ligase enzyme that plays a key role in the ubiquitin-dependent regulation of spermatogenesis.In our previous research,the mRNA expression of FBXW11 in bull sperm with high motility is significantly higher than that with low motility.In the present study,the protein expression levels of FBXW11 in bull testicular tissues with low-performance sperm quality groups were significantly higher than those in normal performance groups.The immunohistochemistry result demonstrated that FBXW11 protein was located in the periphery of Leydig cells and seminiferous tubules.Three splice variants of the FBXW11 gene,namely,FBXW11-tv1,FBXW11-tv2,and FBXW11-tv3,were identified in testicular tissues.The splicing patterns of the three variants are exon skipping.The transcript FBXW11-tv2 expressions were the highest in each sample.The low-performance groups displayed higher FBXW11-tv1 and FBXW11-tv2 transcript expressions than the normal performance groups.Two CpG islands were located within the 5’UTR and exon 1-2 region of the FBXW11 gene.Bisulfite sequencing PCR results demonstrated that the methylation levels of 11 methylation sites in the CpG island 2 from−99 to−43 in the normal performance groups were significantly lower than those in the low-performance groups.Pearson correlation analysis suggested that the CpG island 2 methylation level was negatively correlated with sperm motility and the transcript FBXW11-tv2 expression level.Our data revealed that alternative splicing and DNA methylation jointly regulated FBXW11 gene expression and were correlated with sperm quality traits during spermatogenesis in Holsteins. | YONG LIU ZHIHUA JU QIANG JIANG WENHAO LIU CHUNHONG YANG YARAN ZHANG XIUGE WANG YAPING GAO XIAOCHAO WEI YAN SUN JINPENG WANG MINGHAI HOU LING YANG JINMING HUANG | 2021 | BIOCELL2021,45,1: | 1 |

| 8 | Catalytic transfer hydrogenolysis of C–O bonds in lignin model compounds without arene hydrogenation显示文摘The shortage of resources and the destruction of the environment have caused serious resource and environmental problems shared by all countries around the world. As a ubiquitous renewable resource, biomass has great prospects for replacing fossil energy and attracted attention from the society. The use of catalytic approach to transform biomass into high-value chemicals is an effective way to use biomass efficiently. In this work, Nisupported catalysts has been developed for the selective cleavage of C–O bonds in lignin model compounds with 2-propanol as the hydrogen source solvent. Among these catalysts, it was indicated that zirconium phosphate(Zr P)-supported Ni catalysts were highly efficient and recyclable for alkyl-aryl ether(α-O-4 and β-O-4) cleavage in lignin model compounds. The further investigation demonstrated that the transfer hydrogenolysis of the C–O bond is highly selective, which afforded phenols and aromatics as dominant products without the products arising from hydrogenation of aromatic rings. Through a series of characterization of the catalyst, it was demonstrated that the medium strong acid sites of the Zr P support promoted the cleavage of alkyl-aryl ethers(α-O-4 and β-O-4),and Br?nsted acid sites favored for achieving high selectivity toward C–O bond cleavage. | 10 | Vicinal hydroxyl group-inspired selective oxidation of glycerol to glyceric acid on hydroxyapatite supported Pd catalyst显示文摘Selective oxidation of glycerol provides a feasible route towards the sustainable synthesis of high value-added chemicals.Herein,the hydroxyapatite(HAP)supported palladium(Pd)species were fabricated by impregnation and subsequent calcination.The as-obtained heterogeneous Pd catalyst afforded not only excellent selectivity to glyceric acid(GLA)up to 90%with 59%conversion of glycerol but also good recyclability by using molecular oxygen as an oxidant under mild conditions.The characterization of catalysts indicated that both the surface basicity and Pd sites on the catalyst played a crucial role in promoting glycerol oxidation.Notably,it demonstrated that the presence of the vicinal hydroxyl group of glycerol molecule can assist the oxidation reaction via forming a coordination between the vicinal hydroxyl group and Ca^(2+) sites on HAP-derived catalysts.In this catalytic process,the secondary hydroxyl of glycerol kept untouched and the primary hydroxyl of glycerol was converted into carboxyl group,while the Pd species acted as active centers for cooperatively promoting the subsequent oxidation to generate GLA.Additionally,this catalytic system can be extended widely for the oxidative conversion of other vicinal diols into the corresponding a-hydroxycarboxylic acids selectively.Isotope labeling experiment using H_(2)^(18)O confirmed that H_(2)O not only acted as solvent but also was involved in the catalytic cycles.On the basis of the results,a possible reaction mechanism has been proposed.The HAP-supported Pd catalytic system has been shown to serve as an effective approach for the upgrading of bio-derived vicinal diols to high value-added chemicals. | Difan Li Xiuge Zhao Qingqing Zhou Bingjie Ding Anna Zheng Qingpo Peng Zhenshan Hou | 2022 | Green Energy & Environment2022,7,4: | 1 |
