| 3 | Effects of rare earth elements on inclusions and impact toughness of high-carbon chromium bearing steel显示文摘High-carbon chromium bearing steels with different rare earth (RE) contents were prepared to investigate the effects of RE on inclusions and impact toughness by different techniques. The results showed that RE addition could modify irregular Al2O3 and MnS into regular RE inclusions. With the increase of RE content, the reaction sequence of RE and potential inclusion forming elements should be O, S, As, P and C successively. RE inclusions containing C might precipitate in molten steel and solid state, but the precipitation tem perature was significantly higher than that of carbides in high-carbon chromium bearing steel. For experim ental bearing steels, the volume fraction of inclusions increased steadily with the increase of RE content, but smaller and more dispersed inclusions could be obtained by 0.018% RE content compared with bearing steel without RE, whereas the continuous increase of RE content led to an increasing trend for inclusion size and a gradual deterioration for inclusion distribution. | 4 | A preliminary investigation on the occurrence and distribution of antibiotic resistance genes in the Beijiang River, South China显示文摘The occurrence of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) was investigated and quantified in 20 water samples collected in the Beijiang River, South China. Sulfonamide- and tetracycline-resistant bacteria were present in 17 and 14 of the collected 20 samples. For sulfonamide ARGs, sulI and sulII were frequently observed in the Beijiang River. The levels of sulI were higher than sulII (p < 0.05), with the mean values of (1.41 ± 1.12) × 10-2 and (1.58 ± 1.71) × 10-3 copies/16S rDNA, respectively. For tetracycline ARGs, tetG had the highest frequency, 100%, followed by tetA (85%), tetO (85%), tetC (70%), tetX (60%), tetM (40%) and tetQ (20%), while tetE and tetS were not detected in all the samples from the Beijiang River. On the other hand, tetC had the highest concentration, ranging from 8.30 × 10-2 to 13.20 copies/16S rDNA. The poor correlation between ARGs and antibiotic concentrations revealed that the self-amplification and persistence of ARGs were the reasons that made ARGs exist in the water environment even though the antibiotic selecting pressure was absent. | 5 | Breaches of the Baige Barrier Lake: Emergency response and dam breach flood显示文摘This paper documents the emergency response to the breaches of the Baige Barrier Lake. The lake was successively formed by landslides that occurred on October 10 and November 3, 2018 at the provincial border between Sichuan and Tibet in China. The barrier lake created by the '10.10' landslide breached on October 12 and triggered a flood with a peak discharge around 10000 m^3/s. The residual landslide barrier was enhanced by a second landslide on November 3, resulting in a higher barrier with larger flood potential. An overflow channel was excavated in the crest of the barrier to prompt the breach to be triggered at a lower water level. The second breach happened on November 12 with a measured peak discharge of 31000 m^3/s. Nearly 75000 people were evacuated before the two breaches. In order to prevent the downstream dams from possible over-topping, nearly 3.27×10~8 m^3 of the stored volume was released from the Liyuan reservoir 688 km downstream of Baige Barrier Lake. This paper presents the measured hydrographs and the back-analysis results for the '11.03' barrier lake. It is shown that the modern models of dam breach hydraulics can reasonably reproduce the barrier breach hydrographs;however, further studies are needed to define the key parameters which highly influence the calculated results. | 11 | Tomato lncRNA23468 functions as a competing endogenous RNA to modulate NBS-LRR genes by decoying miR482b in the tomato-Phytophthora infestans interaction显示文摘Our previous studies indicated that tomato miR482b could negatively regulate the resistance of tomato to Phytophthora infestans and the expression of miR482b was decreased after inoculation with P.infestans.However,the mechanism by which the accumulation of miR482b is suppressed remains unclear.In this study,we wrote a program to identify 89 long noncoding RNA(lncRNA)-originated endogenous target mimics(eTMs)for 46 miRNAs from our RNA-Seq data.Three tomato lncRNAs,lncRNA23468,lncRNA01308 and lncRNA13262,contained conserved eTM sites for miR482b.When lncRNA23468 was overexpressed in tomato,miR482b expression was significantly decreased,and the expression of the target genes,NBS-LRRs,was significantly increased,resulting in enhanced resistance to P.infestans.Silencing lncRNA23468 in tomato led to the increased accumulation of miR482b and decreased accumulation of NBS-LRRs,as well as reduced resistance to P.infestans.In addition,the accumulation of both miR482b and NBS-LRRs was not significantly changed in tomato plants that overexpressed lncRNA23468 with a mutated eTM site.Based on the VIGS system,a target gene of miR482b,Solyc02g036270.2,was silenced.The disease symptoms of the VIGS-Solyc02g036270.2 tomato plants were in accordance with those of tomato plants in which lncRNA23468 was silenced after inoculation with P.infestans.More severe disease symptoms were found in the modified plants than in the control plants.Our results demonstrate that lncRNAs functioning as eTMs may modulate the effects of miRNAs in tomato and provide insight into how the lncRNA23468-miR482b-NBS-LRR module regulates tomato resistance to P.infestans. | Ning Jiang Jun Cui Yunsheng Shi Guanglei Yang Xiaoxu Zhou Xinxin Hou Jun Meng Yushi Luan | 2019 | Horticulture Research2019,6,1: | 12 |

| 14 | Heavy Oil and Oil Sands:Global Distribution and Resource Assessment显示文摘Global recoverable resources of heavy oil and oil sands have been assessed by CNPC using a geology-based assessment method combined with the traditional volumetric method, spatial interpolation method, parametric-probability method etc. The most favourable areas for exploration have been selected in accordance with a comprehensive scoring system. The results show:(1) For geological resources, CNPC estimate 991.18 billion tonnes of heavy oil and 501.26 billion tonnes of oil sands globally, of which technically recoverable resources of heavy oil and oil sands comprise 126.74 billion tonnes and 64.13 billion tonnes respectively. More than 80% of the resources occur within Tertiary and Cretaceous reservoirs distributed across 69 heavy oil basins and 32 oil sands basins. 99% of recoverable resources of heavy oil and oil sands occur within foreland basins, passive continental-margin basins and cratonic basins.(2) Since residual hydrocarbon resources remain following large-scale hydrocarbon migration and destruction, heavy oil and oil sands are characterized most commonly by late hydrocarbon accumulation, the same basin types and source-reservoir conditions as for conventional hydrocarbon resources, shallow burial depth and stratabound reservoirs.(3) Three accumulation models are recognised, depending on basin type: degradation along slope; destruction by uplift; and migration along faults.(4) In addition to mature exploration regions such as Canada and Venezuela, the Volga-Ural Basin and the Pre-Caspian Basin are less well-explored and have good potential for oil-sand discoveries, and it is predicted that the Middle East will be an important region for heavy oil development. | LIU Zuodong WANG Hongjun Graham BLACKBOURN MA Feng HE Zhengjun WEN Zhixing WANG Zhaoming YANG Zi LUAN Tiansi WU Zhenzhen | 2019 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2019,93,1: | 9 |

The polymer-to-ceramic transformation and thermal behavior of obtained single-source precursor were characterized by means of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR) and thermal gravimetric analysis(TGA). The results show that the precursor possesses a high ceramic yield about 85% at 1000 ℃.The phase composition and microstructure of formed ZrC-ZrB_2-SiC ceramics were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction(XRD) and high resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM).Meanwhile, the weight loss and chemical composition of the resultant ZrC-ZrB_2-SiC nanocomposites were investigated after annealing at high temperature up to 1800 ℃. | 17 | Effects of ion concentration and natural organic matter on arsenic(V) removal by nanofiltration under different transmembrane pressures显示文摘The removal of As(V) from synthetic water was studied using four different nanofiltration (NF) membranes (ESNA-1-K1, NF270, ESNA-1-LF, and HODRA-CORE). The influences of ion concentration, transmembrane pressure (TMP), and the presence of natural organic matter (humic acid, HA) on the arsenic removal efficiency and permeate flux were investigated. The arsenic rejection of ESNA- 1-LF was higher than those of the other membranes in all experiments (> 94%), and the HODRA-CORE membrane gave the lowest removal of arsenic (< 47%). An increase in the ion concentration in the feed solution and addition of HA decreased the arsenic rejection of the HODRA-CORE membrane. However, both increasing of the ion concentration and addition of HA made the rejection increased for the other membranes (ESNA-1-K1, NF270, and ESNA-1-LF). With increasing TMP, for all four NF membranes, increases in both arsenic rejection and permeate flux were observed. | 20 | Biofilm-inspired adhesive and antibacterial hydrogel with tough tissue integration performance for sealing hemostasis and wound healing显示文摘Uncontrolled bleeding and infection can cause significant increases in mortalities.Hydrogel sealants have attracted extensive attention for their ability to control bleeding.However,because interfacial water is a formidable barrier to strong surface bonding,a challenge remains in finding a product that offers robust tissue adhesion combined with anti-infection properties.Inspired by the strong adhesive mechanism of biofilm and mussels,we report a novel dual bionic adhesive hydrogel(DBAH)based on chitosan grafted with methacrylate(CS-MA),dopamine(DA),and N-hydroxymethyl acrylamide(NMA)via a facile radical polymerization process.CS-MA and DA were simultaneously included in the adhesive polymer for imitating the two key adhesive components:polysaccharide intercellular adhesin(PIA)of staphylococci biofilm and 3,4-dihydroxy-L-phenylalanine(Dopa)of mussel foot protein,respectively.DBAH presented strong adhesion at 34 kPa even upon three cycles of full immersion in water and was able to withstand up to 168 mm Hg blood pressure,which is significantly higher than the 60–160 mm Hg measured in most clinical settings.Most importantly,these hydrogels presented outstanding hemostatic capability under wet and dynamic in vivo movements while displaying excellent antibacterial properties and biocompatibility.Therefore,DBAH represents a promising class of biomaterials for high-efficiency hemostasis and wound healing. | Wei Han Bo Zhou Kai Yang Xin Xiong Shifang Luan Yu Wang Zheng Xu Peng Lei Zhengshan Luo Jian Gao Yijing Zhan Guopu Chen Lei Liang Rui Wang Sha Li Hong Xu | 2020 | Bioactive Materials2020,5,4: | 6 |
