1Seasonal variability in tropical and subtropical convective and stratiform precipitation of the East Asian monsoon显示文摘Seasonal variations in tropical and subtropical convective and stratiform precipitation of the East Asian monsoon are analyzed using 10-year (1998-2007) Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) precipitation radar (PR) rain products (2A25). Datasets from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Fourth Assessment Report (AR4) 24 general circulation models (GCMs) are evaluated using TRMM PR rain products in terms of their ability to simulate convective and stratiform precipitation and their deficiencies. The results show that Asian monsoon convective and stratiform precipitation increases significantly after onset of the summer monsoon, but the percentage of convective precipitation clearly decreases over tropical areas while it increases in subtropical regions. The GCMs simulate well the seasonal variation in the contribution of Asian monsoon subtropical convective precipitation to the total rainfall; however, the simulated convective precipitation amount is high while the simulated stratiform precipitation amount is low relative to TRMM measurements, especially over the Asian monsoon tropical region. 2Organic-semiconductor: Polymer-electret blends for high-performance transistors显示文摘As compared with polymer semiconductors, solution-processed small-moleculesemiconductors usually have poorer film-formation properties, which induceswide variations in device performance in terms of mobility and threshold voltage,thus severely limiting their commercial applications. In this work, we propose aneasily accessible method to improve the performance and reduce the variabilityof small-molecule organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) by blending organicsemiconductors with an insulator polymer, which is subsequently post-treatedby gate stress to generate an electret. By blending the organic semiconductor2,7-didodecyl[1]benzothieno[3,2-b][1]benzothiophene (C12-BTBT) with the insulatorpolystyrene, uniform transport layers with vertically phase segregated morphologyare obtained, from which the mobility and threshold voltage of OFETs are largelymanipulated. The OFETs exhibit field-effect mobilities as high as 7.5 cm2-V-l-s-1with an on/off ratio exceeding 106 in ambient conditions. This double-layerstructure provides an appropriate architecture for applying gate-stress to injectcharges into the insulating layer, forming an electret. The generation of theelectret is thermally accelerated and thus can be easily realized under moderategate-stress at elevated temperature (e.g., 60 ℃). After cooling, the electret layer servesas a floating-gate, which not only continuously tunes the threshold voltage andfield-effect mobility, but also helps minimize the contact resistances and optimizethe subthreshold swing. 3Size,morphology,and composition of lunar samples returned by Chang'E-5 mission显示文摘This study focuses on the physical and chemical properties of surficial lunar regolith(LR)samples returned from the Moon by the Chang’E-5(CE-5)mission.Insights regarding the effect of a new sampling geological site on the surficial lunar sample CE5 C0400 were illustrated using nondestructive techniques such as laser diffractometry coupled with image analysis,X-ray computed tomography,and field emission scanning electron microscopy equipped with energy dispersive spectroscopy,and Xray diffraction combined with Rietveld refinement.From the characterization analyses,the CE-5 sampling site in the northeastern Oceanus Procellarum on the Moon yields a unique collection of relatively regular-shaped and fine basalt-dominated particles.The median grain size D_(50) is(55.24±0.96)μm,falling within the relatively low end of the range of the Apollo lunar returned samples.The coefficient of uniformity C_(u)of 15.1 and the coefficient of curvature C_(c)of 1.7 could classify CE5 C0400 to be well-graded.The minerals in CE5 C0400 comprise approximately 44.5%pyroxene,30.4%plagioclase,3.6%olivine,and6.0%ilmenite.There is a relatively low content of approximately 15.5%glass phase in the CE-5 lunar sample.From the results,we deduce that the CE-5 LR structure could have mainly resulted from micrometeoroid impacts to achieve such a high level of maturity.Hui Zhang Xian Zhang Guang Zhang Keqi Dong Xiangjin Deng Xiaosong Gao Yaodong Yang Yuan Xiao Xiao Bai Kaixin Liang Yiwei Liu Wenbin Ma Shaofan Zhao Ce Zhang Xiaojing Zhang Jian Song Wei Yao Hong Chen Weihua Wang Zhigang Zou Mengfei Yang 2022Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2022,65,2:4
4On-chip chalcogenide microresonators with low-threshold parametric oscillation显示文摘Chalcogenide glass (ChG) is an attractive material for highly efficient nonlinear photonics,which can cover an ultrabroadband wavelength window from the near-visible to the footprint infrared region. However,it remains a challenge to implement highly-efficient and low-threshold optical parametric processes in chip-scale ChG devices due to thermal and light-induced instabilities as well as a high-loss factor in ChG films. Here,we develop a systematic fabrication process for high-performance photonic-chip-integrated ChG devices,by which planarintegrated ChG microresonators with an intrinsic quality (Q) factor above 1 million are demonstrated. In particular,an in situ light-induced annealing method is introduced to overcome the longstanding instability underlying ChG film. In high-Q ChG microresonators,optical parametric oscillations with threshold power as low as 5.4 mW are demonstrated for the first time,to our best knowledge. 5Characterization of deep ground geothermal field in Jiahe Coal Mine显示文摘Research into the characteristics of geothermal fields is important for the control of heat damage in mines. Based on measured geothermal data of boreholes from 200 m to 1200 m in a Jiahe Coal Mine, we demonstrate non-linear but increasing relations of both geo-temperatures and geothermal gradients with increases depth. 15Solving Inventory Management Problems through Deep Reinforcement Learning显示文摘Inventory management(e.g.lost sales)is a central problem in supply chain management.Lost sales inventory systems with lead times and complex cost function are notoriously hard to optimize.Deep reinforcement learning(DRL)methods can learn optimal decisions based on trails and errors from the environment due to its powerful complex function representation capability and has recently shown remarkable successes in solving challenging sequential decision-making problems.This paper studies typical lost sales and multi-echelon inventory systems.We first formulate inventory management problem as a Markov Decision Process by taking into account ordering cost,holding cost,fixed cost and lost-sales cost and then develop a solution framework DDLS based on Double deep Q-networks(DQN).In the lost-sales scenario,numerical experiments demonstrate that increasing fixed ordering cost distorts the ordering behavior,while our DQN solutions with improved state space are flexible in the face of different cost parameter settings,which traditional heuristics find challenging to handle.We then study the effectiveness of our approach in multi-echelon scenarios.Empirical results demonstrate that parameter sharing can significantly improve the performance of DRL.As a form of information sharing,parameter sharing among multi-echelon suppliers promotes the collaboration of agents and improves the decisionmaking efficiency.Our research further demonstrates the potential of DRL in solving complex inventory management problems.Qinghao Wang Yijie Peng Yaodong Yang 2022Journal of Systems Science and Systems Engineering2022,31,6:0
16Multi-scale spatial relationships between soil total nitrogen and influencing factors in a basin landscape based on multivariate empirical mode decomposition显示文摘The relationships between soil total nitrogen(STN)and influencing factors are scale-dependent.The objective of this study was to identify the multi-scale spatial relationships of STN with selected environmental factors(elevation,slope and topographic wetness index),intrinsic soil factors(soil bulk density,sand content,silt content,and clay content)and combined environmental factors(including the first two principal components(PC1 and PC2)of the Vis-NIR soil spectra)along three sampling transects located at the upstream,midstream and downstream of Taiyuan Basin on the Chinese Loess Plateau.We separated the multivariate data series of STN and influencing factors at each transect into six intrinsic mode functions(IMFs)and one residue by multivariate empirical mode decomposition(MEMD).Meanwhile,we obtained the predicted equations of STN based on MEMD by stepwise multiple linear regression(SMLR).The results indicated that the dominant scales of explained variance in STN were at scale 995 m for transect 1,at scales 956 and 8852 m for transect 2,and at scales 972,5716 and 12,317 m for transect 3.Multi-scale correlation coefficients between STN and influencing factors were less significant in transect 3 than in transects 1 and 2.The goodness of fit root mean square error(RMSE),normalized root mean square error(NRMSE),and coefficient of determination(R2)indicated that the prediction of STN at the sampling scale by summing all of the predicted IMFs and residue was more accurate than that by SMLR directly.Therefore,the multi-scale method of MEMD has a good potential in characterizing the multi-scale spatial relationships between STN and influencing factors at the basin landscape scale.ZHU Hongfen CAO Yi JING Yaodong LIU Geng BI Rutian YANG Wude 2019Journal of Arid Land2019,11,3:0

19Synthesis and ultraviolet/aggregation-induced emission investigation of novel tetraphenylvinyl hydrazone derivatives: efficient multimodal chemosensors for fluoride ion显示文摘Herein,three novel tetraphenylethylene hydrazone chemosensors TC12,SC16,and TC16 are prepared for the selective detection of F−.Two NH and one C=N units are incorporated into the sensors for better colorimetric responses,whereas the tetraphenyl unit is in charge of the aggregation-induced emission effect.Among them,compounds SC16 and TC16 form stable gels with some organic solvents.All the tetrahydrofuran/H2O solutions of the three compounds exhibit aggregation-induced emission effect,whereby the fluorescence emission increases by varying degrees with the volume of poor solvent water.Moreover,good aggregation-induced emission effects are observed in the self-assembly of SC16 and TC16.As a sample chemosensor,TC12 in tetrahydrofuran responds to F−selectively with high sensitivity,with the colorimetric and fluorometric detection limits of 8.25×10^(−7) mol·L^(-1) and 2.69×10^(−7) mol·L^(-1),respectively.The reversible gel-sol-gel phase transition and color changes indicate that both SC16-dimethyl sulfoxide and TC16-ethyl acetate gels specifically respond to F-with good sensitivity.The detection results are well supported by ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy,fluorescent spectroscopy,and 1H nuclear magnetic resonance.More importantly,the driving forces of gelation are visually clarified through the single crystal X-ray analysis of compound TOMe.Wenting Yin Linqi Shi Mengjiao Liang Yaodong Huang Junjiao Yang 2023Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2023,17,12:0
20Large sequence models for sequential decision-making:a survey显示文摘Transformer architectures have facilitated the development of large-scale and general-purpose sequence models for prediction tasks in natural language processing and computer vision,e.g.,GPT-3 and Swin Transformer.Although originally designed for prediction problems,it is natural to inquire about their suitability for sequential decision-making and reinforcement learning problems,which are typically beset by long-standing issues involving sample efficiency,credit assignment,and partial observability.In recent years,sequence models,especially the Transformer,have attracted increasing interest in the RL communities,spawning numerous approaches with notable effectiveness and generalizability.This survey presents a comprehensive overview of recent works aimed at solving sequential decision-making tasks with sequence models such as the Transformer,by discussing the connection between sequential decision-making and sequence modeling,and categorizing them based on the way they utilize the Transformer.Moreover,this paper puts forth various potential avenues for future research intending to improve the effectiveness of large sequence models for sequential decision-making,encompassing theoretical foundations,network architectures,algorithms,and efficient training systems.Muning WEN Runji LIN Hanjing WANG Yaodong YANG Ying WEN Luo MAI Jun WANG Haifeng ZHANG Weinan ZHANG 2023Frontiers of Computer Science2023,17,6:0
