| 1 | Mechanisms of acupuncture and moxibustion in regulation of epithelial cell apoptosis in rat ulcerative colitis显示文摘AIM:To investigate the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion on epithelial cell apoptosis and expression of Bcl-2, Bax, fas and FasL proteins in rat ulcerative colitis.METHODS:A rat model of ulcerative colitis was estabelished by immunological methods and local stimulation. All rats were randomly divided into model control group (MC),electro-acupuncture group (EA), herbs-partition moxibustion group (HPM). Normal rats were used as normal control group (NC). Epithelial cell apoptosis and expression of Bcl-2, Bax, fas and FasL proteins were detected by TUNEL and immunohistochemiscal method respectively.RESULTS: The number of epithelial cell apoptosis in MC was significantly higher than that in NC,and was markedly decreased after the treatment with herbs-partition moxibustion or electro-acupuncture. The expression of Bcl-2, Bax, fas and FasL in colonic epithelial cells in MC was higher than that in NC, and was markedly down- regulated by herbs-partition moxibustion or electro-acupuncture treatment.CONCLUSION: The pathogenesis of ulcerative colitis in rats involves abnormality of apoptosis. | 2 | An entransy dissipation-based optimization principle for solar power tower plants显示文摘The entransy theory,which can be used to optimize the heat transfer network of a solar power tower system(SPTS)and improve its energy efficiency,was introduced in this paper.Firstly,the irreversibility of the heat transfer processes in a SPTS was analyzed and the total entransy dissipation equation of a SPTS was derived.Then,two types of optimization problems(reducing the total circulating flow rate or the total heat-exchanging area)of a SPTS were solved with conditional extremum model based on the formulas of total entransy dissipation.Finally,the entransy dissipation-based optimization principle was applied to a simple SPTS without re-heater and a complex SPTS with a re-heater.The results showed that under the chosen calculation conditions the minimum total thermal conductance was 19306.03 W K?1 for a SPTS without re-heater when the total heat capacity rate of heat transfer fluid(HTF)was 3200 W K?1.The minimum total thermal conductance was about 7.9%lower than the value predicted based on the typical outlet temperature of a receiver.This meant that the total heat exchange area or initial investment could be effectively reduced under the prescribed total HTF circulating flow rate.We also studied the variation trends of the two optimized results including minimum total HTF heat capacity rate and minimum total thermal conductance.The minimum total HTF heat capacity rate decreased with the given total thermal conductance,the minimum total thermal conductance decreased first and then increased with the given total HTF heat capacity rate.We also found that for a SPTS with a re-heater,the mixing temperature and the mixing position of HTF had significant effects on the two types of optimization problems. | ZHENG ZhangJing HE YaLing LI YinShi | 2014 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,4: | 11 |
| 3 | Highly aligned lithiophilic electrospun nanofiber membrane for the multiscale suppression of Li dendrite growth显示文摘Using inorganic fibrous membranes as protective layers has yielded success in suppressing dendrite growth.However,conventional fibrous membranes usually have large voids and low affinity for Li,promoting inhomogeneous charge distribution and allowing some dendrites to grow.Herein,we introduce a highly aligned TiO_(2)/SiO_(2)(A-TS)electrospun nanofiber membrane as a protective layer for the Li metal anode.The A-TS membrane is fabricated by a custom-made electrospinning system with an automatic fiber alignment collector that allows control of the fibers’orientation.At the scale of the individual fibers,their high binding energies with Li can attract more“dead”Li by reacting with the SiO_(2) component of the composite,avoiding uncontrollable deposition on the metal anode.At the membrane scale,these highly ordered structures achieve homogeneous contact and charge distribution on the Li metal surface,leaving no vulnerable areas to nucleate dendrite formation.Additionally,the excellent mechanical and thermal stability properties of the A-TS membrane prevent any potential puncturing by dendrites or thermal runaway in a battery.Hence,an A-TS@Li anode exhibits stable cycling performance when used in both Li-S and Li-NCM811 batteries,highlighting significant reference values for the future design and development of high-energy-density metal-based battery systems. | Jianan Wang Qianyue Ma Shiyi Sun Kai Yang Qiong Cai Emilia Olsson Xin Chen Ze Wang Amr MAbdelkader Yinshi Li Wei Yan Shujiang Ding Kai Xi | 2022 | eScience2022,2,6: | 2 |

The fragment sequence of exon 3 and exon 5 was consistent with the proteolipid protein 1 sequence at NCBI. In the proband samples, a PLP1 point mutation in exon 4 was detected at the basic group of position 844, T→C, phenylalanine→leucine. In proband samples from a male cousin, the basic group at position 844 was C, but gene sequencing signals revealed mixed signals of T and C, indicating possible mutation at this locus. | 8 | Characteristics of the transient thermal load and deformation of the evacuated receiver in solar parabolic trough collector显示文摘As a core element in solar parabolic trough collector, the evaluated receiver often runs under severe thermal conditions. Worse still, the transient thermal load is more likely to cause structural deformation and damage. This work develops an efficient transient multi-level multi-dimensional(M2) analysis method to address photo-thermal-elastic problems, thereby estimating transient thermal load and deformation for the receiver:(i) one-dimensional(1-D) thermo-hydraulic model is adopted to determine the transient thermo-hydraulic state,(ii) 3-D finite volume method(FVM) model for the receiver tube is established to obtain the real-time temperature distribution,(iii) 3-D finite element method(FEM) model is employed to make thermoelastic analysis. Based on this M2 method, the typical transient cases are conducted in cold-start, disturbed-operation and regulatedprocess. Three indicators(average temperature of the wall(ATW), radial temperature difference(RTD), circumferential temperature difference(CTD)) are defined for overall analysis of the receiver thermal load. It is found that in the transient process,receivers face response delay and endure significant thermal load fluctuation. The response time for a single HCE(heat collecting element) under lower mass flow rate(1.5 kg s-1) could sustain 280 s. During the cold-start stage(DNI=200 W m-2 to 800 W m-2), the maximum value of CTD in receiver is as high as 11.67℃, corresponding to a maximum deflection of 1.05 cm.When the mass flow rate decreases sharply by 80%, the CTD reaches 33.04℃, causing a 2.06-cm deflection. | 17 | Targeting epigenetic and posttranslational modifications regulating ferroptosis for the treatment of diseases显示文摘Ferroptosis,a unique modality of cell death with mechanistic and morphological differences from other cell death modes,plays a pivotal role in regulating tumorigenesis and offers a new opportunity for modulating anticancer drug resistance.Aberrant epigenetic modifications and posttranslational modifications(PTMs)promote anticancer drug resistance,cancer progression,and metastasis.Accumulating studies indicate that epigenetic modifications can transcriptionally and translationally determine cancer cell vulnerability to ferroptosis and that ferroptosis functions as a driver in nervous system diseases(NSDs),cardiovascular diseases(CVDs),liver diseases,lung diseases,and kidney diseases.In this review,we first summarize the core molecular mechanisms of ferroptosis.Then,the roles of epigenetic processes,including histone PTMs,DNA methylation,and noncoding RNA regulation and PTMs,such as phosphorylation,ubiquitination,SUMOylation,acetylation,methylation,and ADP-ribosylation,are concisely discussed.The roles of epigenetic modifications and PTMs in ferroptosis regulation in the genesis of diseases,including cancers,NSD,CVDs,liver diseases,lung diseases,and kidney diseases,as well as the application of epigenetic and PTM modulators in the therapy of these diseases,are then discussed in detail.Elucidating the mechanisms of ferroptosis regulation mediated by epigenetic modifications and PTMs in cancer and other diseases will facilitate the development of promising combination therapeutic regimens containing epigenetic or PTM-targeting agents and ferroptosis inducers that can be used to overcome chemotherapeutic resistance in cancer and could be used to prevent other diseases.In addition,these mechanisms highlight potential therapeutic approaches to overcome chemoresistance in cancer or halt the genesis of other diseases. | Yumin Wang Jing Hu Shuang Wu Joshua S.Fleishman Yulin Li Yinshi Xu Wailong Zou Jinhua Wang Yukuan Feng Jichao Chen Hongquan Wang | 2024 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2024,9,1: | 0 |
