1Effects of applying lactic acid bacteria to the fermentation on a mixture of corn steep liquor and air-dried rice straw显示文摘This study was to determine the fermentation quality of a mixture of corn steep liquor(CSL)(178 g/kg wet basis) and air-dried rice straw(356 g/kg wet basis) after being treated with inoculants of different types of lactic acid bacteria(LAB). The treatments included the addition of no LAB additive(control),which was deionized water; homo-fermentative LAB alone(^(ho)LAB), which was Lactobacillus plantarum alone), and a mixture of homo-fermentative and hetero-fermentative LAB(^(he+ho)LAB), which were L. plantarum, Lactobacillus casei, and Lactobacillus buchneri. The results showed that the inoculation of the mixture of CSL and air-dried rice straw with ^(he+ho)LAB significantly increased the concentration of acetic acid and lactic acid compared with the control(P < 0.05). The addition of ^(he+ho)LAB effectively inhibited the growth of yeast in the silage. The concentration of total lactic acid bacteria in the ^(he+ho)LAB-treated silage was significant higher than those obtained in other groups(P < 0.05). The duration of the aerobic stability of the silages increased from 56 h to >372 h. The control group was the first to spoil, whereas the silage treated with ^(he+ho)LAB remained stable throughout the 372 h period of monitoring. 3TiO_2-loaded activated carbon fiber:Hydrothermal synthesis,adsorption properties and photo catalytic activity under visible light irradiation显示文摘TiO_2-loaded activated carbon fibers(ACF) were prepared by a hydrothermal method.The samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared(FT1R) spectrometry and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectra(DRS).SEM images showed that the TiO_2nanoparticles were deposited on the surface of ACF,and the particle size and loading amount of TiO_2were varied by changing the initial concentration of tetrabutyl titanate(TBOT).The results of an ash experiment showed that the loading amounts of TiO_2 were 18.4%,43.3%,52.5%,75.1%,and 91.1%for initial concentrations of TBOT of 0.07,014,0.21,0.28,and 0.35 mol/L,respectively.Physical interactions played an important role in the formation of TiO_2/ACF composite fibers that absorb UV and visible light.Compared with those of ACF,improved adsorption and photocatalytic activity toward Rhodamine B(RhB)were observed for TiO_2/ACF composite fiber.The Rhodamine B could be removed efficiently by TiO_2/ACF composite fibers,and the TiO_2 loading amount had a significant effect on the photocatalytic activity of TiO_2/ACF composite fibers.Hao Meng Wei Hou Xinxin Xu Junli Xu Xia Zhang 2014Particuology2014,12,3:10
4Discriminated sgRNAs-Based SurroGate System Greatly Enhances the Screening Efficiency of Plant Base-Edited Cells显示文摘The development of CRISPR/Cas9-mediated base editing has made genomic modification more efficient. However, selection of genetically modified cells from millions of treated cells, especially plant cells, is still challenging. In this study, an efficient surrogate reporter system based on a defective hygromycin resistance gene was established in rice to enrich base-edited cells. After step-by-step optimization, the Discriminated sgRNAs-based SurroGate system (DisSUGs) was established by artificially differentiating the editing abilities of a wild-type single guide RNA (sgRNA) targeting the surrogate reporter gene and an enhanced sgRNA targeting endogenous sites. The DisSUGs enhanced the efficiency of screening base-edited cells by 3- to 5-fold for a PmCDA1-based cytosine-to-tyrosine base editor (PCBE), and 2.5- to 6.5-fold for an adenine base editor (ABE) at endogenous targets. These targets showed editing efficiencies of <25% in the conventional systems. The DisSUGs greatly enhanced the frequency of homozygous substitutions and expanded the activity window slightly for both a PCBE and an ABE. Analyses of the total number of single-nucleotide variants from whole-genome sequencing revealed that, compared with the no-enrichment PCBE strategy, the DisSUGs did not alter the frequency of genome-wide sgRNA-independent off-target mutations, but slightly increased the frequency of target-dependent off-target mutations. 5Estimation of reproduction numbers of COVID-19 in typical countries and epidemic trends under different prevention and control scenarios显示文摘The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has become a life-threatening pandemic.The epidemic trends in different countries vary considerably due to different policy-making and resources mobilization.We calculated basic reproduction number(R0)and the time-varying estimate of the effective reproductive number(Rt)of COVID-19 by using the maximum likelihood method and the sequential Bayesian method,respectively.European and North American countries possessed higher (R0)and unsteady Rt fluctuations,whereas some heavily affected Asian countries showed relatively low (R0)and declining Rt now.The numbers of patients in Africa and Latin America are still low,but the potential risk of huge outbreaks cannot be ignored.Three scenarios were then simulated,generating distinct outcomes by using SEIR(susceptible,exposed,infectious,and removed)model.First,evidence-based prompt responses yield lower transmission rate followed by decreasing Rt.Second,implementation of effective control policies at a relatively late stage,in spite of huge casualties at early phase,can still achieve containment and mitigation.Third,wisely taking advantage of the time-window for developing countries in Africa and Latin America to adopt adequate measures can save more people’s life.Our mathematical modeling provides evidence for international communities to develop sound design of containment and mitigation policies for COVID-19.Chen Xu Yinqiao Dong Xiaoyue Yu Huwen Wang Lhakpa Tsamlag Shuxian Zhang Ruijie Chang Zezhou Wang Yuelin Yu Rusi Long Ying Wang Gang Xu Tian Shen Suping Wang Xinxin Zhang Hui Wang Yong Cai 2020Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,5:8
6Prehistoric agriculture development in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, southwest China: Archaeobotanical evidence显示文摘The origin, development and expansion of prehistoric agriculture in East Asia have been widely investigated over the past two decades using archaeobotanical analysis from excavated Neolithic and Bronze Age sites. Research on prehistoric agriculture has predominantly focused in the valleys of the Yellow River and the Yangtze River. Agricultural development during the Neolithic and Bronze Age periods in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau of southwest China, an important passageway for human migration into Southeast Asia, still remains unclear. In this paper, based on macrofossil and microfossil analysis and radiocarbon dating at the Shilinggang site, we investigate plant subsistence strategies in the Nujiang River valley during the Bronze Age period. Combined with previous archaeobotanical studies in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, we explore agricultural development processes in this area during the Neolithic and Bronze Age. Our results indicate that rice and foxtail millet were cultivated in Shilinggang around 2500 cal a BP. Three phases of prehistoric agricultural development in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau can be identified: rice cultivation from 4800–3900 cal a BP, mixed rice and millet crop(foxtail millet and broomcorn millet) cultivation from 3900–3400 cal a BP, and mixed rice, millet crop and wheat cultivation from 3400–2300 cal a BP. 9Effect of different levels of corn steep liquor addition on fermentation characteristics and aerobic stability of fresh rice straw silage显示文摘The object of this study was to determine the proper mixing ratio of fresh rice straw to corn steep liquor(CSL) to obtain a high protein content silage feed. The following experimental silages were generated: the control(C1), composed of fresh rice straw without CSL additive, mixed with CSL in the ratios of 4:1(C4),3:1(C3) and 2:1(C2). Lactic acid bacteria(LAB) inoculant was applied at the rate of 50 mL/kg(fresh basis)of forage to achieve a final application rate of 1 x 10~6 cfu/g of fresh matter(FM). Duplicate silos for each treatment were opened after 0,3, 7,10,20,30,45 and 60 d for microbiological and chemical analysis. The results showed that the addition of CSL significantly increased crude protein(CP) contents, and decreased neutral detergent fiber(NDF) and acid detergent fiber(ADF) contents of treatments after 60 d of ensiling(P < 0.05). The lactic acid contents in C4 and C3 were significantly higher than that in C1(P <0.05). In summary, mixing fresh rice straw with CSL at addition levels of 4:1(C4) and 3:1(C3) can improve the fermentation quality and nutrient composition of fresh rice straw silage. 10High-efficiency quantum steganography based on the tensor product of Bell states显示文摘In this paper,we first propose a hidden rule among the secure message,the initial tensor product of two Bell states and the final tensor product when respectively applying local unitary transformations to the first particle of the two initial Bell states,and then present a high-efficiency quantum steganography protocol under the control of the hidden rule.In the proposed quantum steganography scheme,a hidden channel is established to transfer a secret message within any quantum secure direct communication(QSDC) scheme that is based on 2-level quantum states and unitary transformations.The secret message hiding/unhiding process is linked with the QSDC process only by unitary transformations.To accurately describe the capacity of a steganography scheme,a quantitative measure,named embedding efficiency,is introduced in this paper.The performance analysis shows that the proposed steganography scheme achieves a high efficiency as well as a good imperceptibility.Moreover,it is shown that this scheme can resist all serious attacks including the intercept-resend attack,measurement-resend attack,auxiliary particle attack and even the Denial of Service attack.To improve the efficiency of the proposed scheme,the hidden rule is extended based on the tensor product of multiple Bell states.XU ShuJiang CHEN XiuBo NIU XinXin YANG YiXian 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,9:6
11A high-sensitivity H2S gas sensor based on optimized ZnO-ZnS nano-heterojunction sensing material显示文摘This paper reports a high-performance H2S gas sensing material that is made of ZnO nanowires(NWs)modified by an optimal amount of ZnS to form nano-hete rojunctions.Compared with the intrinsic ZnONWs,the three differently modified nano-heterostructure material ZnO-ZnS-x(x=5,10,15)shows significant improvement in sensing performance to H2S at the working temperatures of 100-400℃,especially in the low temperature range(<300℃).The chemiresistive sensor with ZnO-ZnS-10 sensingmaterial exhibits the largest response signal to H2S among all the other ZnO-ZnS-x(x=5,10,15,20)sensors.Its response signal to 5 ppm H2S at 150℃is about 2.7 times to that of the ZnO-NWs sensor.Besides,the ZnO-ZnS-10 sensor also features satisfactory selectivity and repeatability at 150℃.With the technical advantage attributed to the reduction of the redesigned band gap at the interface between ZnO and ZnS,the ZnO-ZnS hete ro structure sensor rather than the traditional ZnO-NWs sensor can be used for high-sensitivity application at low working temperature.Pei Ding Dongsheng Xu Nan Dong Ying Chen Pengcheng Xu Dan Zheng Xinxin Li 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,8:5
12A MEMS Device for in-situ TEM Test of SCS Nanobeam显示文摘In-situ tensile testing in TEM (transmission electron microscopy) is a useful tool for studying mechanical properties of nano-structures because it can provide quanti-tative information on sample deformation at atomic scale. To facilitate in-situ TEM tensile tests of SCS (single crystal silicon) nanobeam, a MEMS tensile-testing chip was designed and fabricated. The chip was fabricated by means of bulk micro-machining and wafer bonding techniques. An SCS nanobeam, a comb drive ac-tuator, a force sensor beam and an electron beam window were integrated into the chip. With the on-chip comb-drive-actuator stretching the nanobeam and in-situ TEM observation, tensile test on a 90 nm-thick nanobeam was performed and the strain-stress relationship was obtained. 13A Comparative Study on Hydrodynamic Performance of Double Deflector Rectangular Cambered Otter Board显示文摘In the present work,the hydrodynamic performance of the double deflector rectangular cambered otter board was studied using wind tunnel experiment,flume tank experiment and numerical simulation.Results showed that the otter board had a good hydrodynamic performance with the maximum lift-to-drag ratio(K_(MAX) = 3.70).The flow separation occurred when the angle of attack(AOA) was at 45?,which revealed that the double deflector structure of the otter board can delay the flow separation.Numerical simulation results showed a good agreement with experiment ones,and could predict the critical AOA,which showed that it can be used to study the hydrodynamic performance of the otter board with the advantage of flow visualization.However,the drag coefficient in flume tank was much higher than that in wind tunnel,which resulted in a lower lift-to-drag ratio.These may be due to different fluid media between flume tank and wind tunnel,which result in the big difference of the vortexes around the otter board.Given the otter boards are operated in water,it was suggested to apply both flume tank experiment and numerical simulation to study the hydrodynamic performance of otter board.XU Qingchang FENG Chunlei HUANG Liuyi XU Jiqiang WANG Lei ZHANG Xun LIANG Zhenlin TANG Yanli ZHAO Fenfang WANG Xinxin 2018Journal of Ocean University of China2018,17,5:5

15Study on Local Resistance of non-Newtonian Power Law Fluid in Elbow Pipes显示文摘This paper focuses on the flow characteristic and local resistance of non-Newtonian power law fluid in a curved90° bend pipe with circular cross-sections,which are widely used in industrial applications.By employing numerical simulation and theoretical analysis the properties of the flow and local resistance of power law fluid under different working conditions are obtained.To explore the change rule the experiment is carried out by changing the Reynolds number,the wall roughness and different diameter ratio of elbow pipe.The variation of the local resistance coefficient with the Reynolds number,the diameter ratio and the wall roughness is presented comprehensively in the paper.The results show that the local resistance force coefficient hardly changes with Reynolds number of the power law fluid;the wall roughness has a significant impact on the local resistance coefficient.As the pipe wall roughness increasing,the coefficient of local resistance force will increase.The main reason of the influence of the roughness on the local resistance coefficient is the increase of the eddy current region in the power law fluid flow,which increases the kinetic energy dissipation of the main flow.This paper provides theoretical and numerical methods to understand the local resistance property of non-Newtonian power law fluid in elbow pipes.ZHANG Hao XU Tiantian ZHANG Xinxin WANG Yuxiang WANG Yuancheng LIU Xueting 2016Journal of Thermal Science2016,25,3:4
16Synchronous drying and cooling in central Asia duringlate Oligocene显示文摘Aridification of central Asia during late Oligocene and Early Miocene has been documented by numerous eolian records from the North Pacific and central Asia. However, direct evidence of aridity from the interior of the arid zone is still rather scarce. To better reconstruct the climate history in central Asia during the late Oligocene, we have analyzed ostracod assemblages and gypsum content in the sediments from the lacustrine Jingou River section in the northern Tianshan Mountains. Our results show that the cold water species Candona cf. Neglecta and Pseudocandona albicans replaced the warm water species Ilyocypris bradyi and Ilyocypris sp. to become the dominant species at 23.8 Ma, indicating significant cooling in central Asia at that time. At the same time, a substantial increase in gypsum content indicates the intensification of central Asian drying. 17The mechanosensitive lncRNA Neat1 promotes osteoblast function through paraspeckle-dependent Smurf1 mRNA retention显示文摘Mechanical stimulation plays an important role in bone remodeling. Exercise-induced mechanical loading enhances bone strength,whereas mechanical unloading leads to bone loss. Increasing evidence has demonstrated that long noncoding RNAs(lnc RNAs) play key roles in diverse biological, physiological and pathological contexts. However, the roles of lnc RNAs in mechanotransduction and their relationships with bone formation remain unknown. In this study, we screened mechanosensing lnc RNAs in osteoblasts and identified Neat1, the most clearly decreased lnc RNA under simulated microgravity. Of note, not only Neat1 expression but also the specific paraspeckle structure formed by Neat1 was sensitive to different mechanical stimulations, which were closely associated with osteoblast function. Paraspeckles exhibited small punctate aggregates under simulated microgravity and elongated prolate or larger irregular structures under mechanical loading. Neat1 knockout mice displayed disrupted bone formation, impaired bone structure and strength, and reduced bone mass. Neat1 deficiency in osteoblasts reduced the response of osteoblasts to mechanical stimulation. In vivo, Neat1 knockout in mice weakened the bone phenotypes in response to mechanical loading and hindlimb unloading stimulation. Mechanistically, paraspeckles promoted nuclear retention of E3 ubiquitin ligase Smurf1 m RNA and downregulation of their translation, thus inhibiting ubiquitination-mediated degradation of the osteoblast master transcription factor Runx2, a Smurf1 target. 20Properties of Aluminum Oxide (AlO_x) Barrier Coatings Deposited on Poly(Ethylene Terephthalate)(PET)Substrates by Reactive Magnetron Sputtering显示文摘The aluminum oxide(AlOx)coatings were deposited on poly(ethylene terephthalate)(PET)surface by reactive magnetron sputtering for improving its barrier property.With O2 flux increasing,three modes including metallic mode,transition mode and oxide mode exist in sputtering.The properties of the aluminum oxide(AlOx)coatings prepared at different modes were discussed.Also,the influences of oxygen flux on the stoichiometry,structure,gas permeation of the coatings were investigated.The chemical composition of AlOx films fabricated in transition mode is different as oxygen flux varies slightly,and the gas barrier property is better as the stoichiometry is closer to 1.5 with oxygen flux increasing.The coating uniformity,roughness and particle size depend remarkably upon oxygen flux.The coatings deposited at oxide mode have a good barrier performance to oxygen and water,and the permeability to oxygen decreases by sixty times and water vapor ten times compared with uncoatedLiu Zhuang Ma Xinxin Sun Zhihui Xu Fangjun 2012稀有金属材料与工程2012,41,S1:3
