2Exosome-guided bone targeted delivery of Antagomir-188 as an anabolic therapy for bone loss显示文摘The differentiation shift from osteogenesis to adipogenesis of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)characterizes many pathological bone loss conditions.Stromal cell-derived factor-1(SDF1)is highly enriched in the bone marrow for C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 4(CXCR4)-positive hematopoietic stem cell(HSC)homing and tumor bone metastasis.In this study,we displayed CXCR4 on the surface of exosomes derived from genetically engineered NIH-3T3 cells.CXCR4+exosomes selectively accumulated in the bone marrow.Then,we fused CXCR4+exosomes with liposomes carrying antagomir-188 to produce hybrid nanoparticles(NPs).The hybrid NPs specifically gathered in the bone marrow and released antagomir-188,which promoted osteogenesis and inhibited adipogenesis of BMSCs and thereby reversed age-related trabecular bone loss and decreased cortical bone porosity in mice.Taken together,this study presents a novel way to obtain bone-targeted exosomes via surface display of CXCR4 and a promising anabolic therapeutic approach for age-related bone loss.Yan Hu Xiaoqun Li Qin Zhang Zhengrong Gu Ying Luo Jiawei Guo Xiuhui Wang Yingying Jing Xiao Chen Jiacan Su 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,9:12
3Three-stage aged refuse biofilter for the treatment of landfill leachate显示文摘A field-scale aged refuse(AR) biofilter constructed in Shanghai Refuse Landfill,containing about 7000 m3 aged refuse inside,was evaluated for its performance in the treatment of landfill leachate. This AR biofilter can be divided into three stages and can manage 50 m3 landfill leachate per day. The physical,chemical,and biological characteristics of AR were analyzed for evaluating the AR biofilter as leachate treatment host. The results revealed that over 87.8%-96.2% of COD and 96.9%-99.4% of ammonia nitrogen were removed by the three-stage AR biofilter when the influent leachate COD and ammonia nitrogen concentration were in the range 5478-10842 mg/L and 811-1582 mg/L,respectively. The final effiuent was inodorous and pale yellow with COD and ammonia nitrogen below 267-1020 mg/L and 6-45 mg/L,respectively. The three-stage AR biofilter had effcient nitrification but relative poor denitrification capacity with a total nitrogen(TN) removal of 58%-73%. The external temperature of AR biofilter did not influence the total ammonia nitrogen removal significantly. 4An H3K27me3 demethylase-HSFA2 regulatory loop orchestrates transgenerational thermomemory in Arabidopsis显示文摘Global warming has profound effects on plant growth and fitness.Plants have evolved sophisticated epigenetic machinery to respond quickly to heat,and exhibit transgenerational memory of the heat-induced release of post-transtriptional gene silencing(PTGS).However,how thermomemory is transmitted to progeny and the physiological relevance are elusive.Here we show that heat-induced HEAT SHOCK TRANSCRIPTION FACTOR A2(HSFA2)directly activates the H3K27me3 demethylase RELATIVE OF EARLY FLOWERING 6(REF6),which in turn derepresses HSFA2.REF6 and HSFA2 establish a heritable feedback loop,and activate an E3 ubiquitin ligase,SUPPRESSOR OF GENE SILENCING 3(SGS3)-INTERACTING PROTEIN 1(SGIP1).SGIP1-mediated SGS3 degradation leads to inhibited biosynthesis of trans-acting siRNA(tasiRNA).The REF&HSFA2 loop and reduced tasiRNA converge to release HEAT-INDUCED TAS1 TARGET 5(HTT5),which drives early flowering but attenuates immunity.Thus,heat induces transmitted phe no types via a coordi nated epigenetic network involvi ng histone demethylases,tran scriptio n factors,and tasiRNAs,ensuring reproductive success and transgenerational stress adaptation.Junzhong Liu Lili Feng Xueting Gu Xian Deng Qi Qiu Qun Li Yingying Zhang Muyang Wang Yiwen Deng Ertao Wang Yuke He Isabel Baurle Jianming Li Xiaofeng Cao Zuhua He 2019Cell Research2019,29,5:10
5Hierarchical construction of CNT networks in aramid papers for high-efficiency microwave absorption显示文摘Carbon nanotubes(CNTs)incorporated polymeric composites have been extensively investigated for microwave absorption at target frequencies to meet the requirement of radar cross-section reduction.In this work,a strategy of efficient utilization of CNT in producing CNT incorporated aramid papers is demonstrated.The layer-by-layer self-assembly technique is used to coat the surfaces of meta-aramid fibers and fibrils with CNT,providing novel raw materials available for the large-scale papermaking.The hierarchical construction of CNT networks resolves the dilemma of increasing CNT content and avoiding the agglomeration of CNT,which is a frequent challenge for CNT incorporated polymeric composites.The composite paper,which contains abundant heterogeneous interfaces and long-range conductive networks,is capable of reaching a high permittivity and dielectric loss tangent at a low CNT loading,its complex permittivity is,so far,adjustable in the range of(1.20−j0.05)to(25.17−j18.89)at 10 GHz.Some papers with optimal matching thicknesses achieve a high-efficiency microwave absorption with a reflection loss lower than−10 dB in the entire X-band.You Wu Li Chen Yixuan Han Panbo Liu Haihong Xu Guanze Yu Yingying Wang Tao Wen Wenbo Ju Junwei Gu 2023Nano Research2023,16,5:9

7Spatial and temporal distribution of Neolithic sites in coastal China:Sea level changes, geomorphic evolution and human adaption显示文摘The East China coastal plain is one of the most important Neolithic culture areas in China, where rich archaeological sites including those producing the earliest domesticated rice are observed. It is also a place where landscape has experienced dramatic evolution during the Holocene when both sea level and climate changed, such that it is an ideal place for studying human-environment interaction. This study investigated over 2000 sites of pre-history and Shang and Zhou Dynasties, with 655 of which being Neolithic ages, by using DEM and GIS methods. The results suggest that the spatial and temporal distribution of Neolithic sites has largely been controlled by landscape evolution(particularly changes in coastal line), which ultimately governed by sea level changes. During early Holocene, Neolithic sites sparsely distributed in the intermountain basins of east Zhejiang Province, far from the influence of ocean. Over the period of 9–7 ka, the coastal plain(including the shelf) was largely submerged,only the feet of low hills to the south and southwest of the study area, and islands protruding the estuary, cradled limited number of settlements with characteristic 'maritime components'. At about 7 ka, sea level rise decelerated prominently, while sediments supply in the drainage remained high value, the combination of which led to land formation and propagation. Vast space during this period facilitated the growth of settlements in both size and number. 8Enhanced electrokinetic remediation of cadmium-contaminated natural clay using organophosphonates in comparison with EDTA显示文摘Soil contamination by metals is a worldwide environmental problem. Electrokinetic extraction is a promising technology for in-situ remediation of contaminated soils of low hydraulic permeability. However, the extraction of metals is usually hindered by the high buffer capacity of natural soils. Organophosphonates are strong metal chelates as ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid(EDTA) which has been widely studied in the enhancement of electrokinetic remediation. In this study, batch desorption experiments and bench-scale electrokinetic extraction experiments were carried out to study the effect of two organophosphonates, i.e.,(nitrilotrimethylene)triphosphonate(NTMP) &(ethylenedinitrilo)-tetramethylenephosphonate(EDTMP), on the extraction of cadmium from a natural clay in comparison with EDTA. Results of the batch desorption experiments showed that more than 75% of the sorbed cadmium could be dissolved into solution using 0.1 mol·L^(-1) organophosphonates or EDTA in the wide p H range of 1–11. Results of the electrokinetic extraction experiments showed that the cadmium spiked in the specimen migrated towards the anode with the enhancement of NTMP,EDTMP, and EDTA under a constant voltage gradient of approximately 1.0 V·cm-1. Although cadmium mobilization enhanced by EDTA was more efficient than that by the organophosphonates, accumulation of cadmium was observed in the vicinity of the anode. The average removal efficiencies of cadmium from the soil after approximately 5 days of electrokinetic extraction enhanced by 0.1 mol·L-1 NTMP(22.8%) and EDTMP(22.4%) were higher than that by 0.1 mol·L^(-1) EDTA(15.1%).Yingying Gu Albert T. 9Leachate treatment using a demonstration aged refuse biofilter显示文摘Approximately 7000 m3 of aged refuse(AR) with a placement of over eight years was excavated from Shanghai Refuse Landfill,the largest landfill in China,and used for the construction of a two-stage bioreactor(AR biofilter) media for the biological treatment of 100 m3 of refuse landfill leachate.It was found that over 64% of COD,96.9%-99.8% of NH4+-N,and 95.8%-99.8% of BOD5 could be removed by the AR biofilter,when the leachate with initial COD,BOD5,and NH4+-N concentrations were 986-4128 mg/L,264-959 mg/L,and 538-1583 mg/L,respectively.The corresponding concentrations in the effluent were reduced to below 300-400 mg/L,2-12 mg/L,and 10-20 mg/L,respectively.The effluent was clear and pale yellow with suspended solid below 150 mg/L and color below 150 Pt/Co degree.Meanwhile,the total nitrogen removal was only 49%-63%,indicating a relative poor denitrification capacity of AR biofilter.The effluent pH was neutral and the population of Escherichia coli was less than 10-1 CFU/mL.Hence,it was considered that the demonstration project can work well for the effective treatment of leachate.Hongjiang Li Yingying Gu Youcai Zhao Zhiping Wen 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,7:6

11Process engineering in electrochemical energy devices innovation显示文摘This review focuses on the application of process engineering in electrochemical energy conversion and storage devices innovation. For polymer electrolyte based devices, it highlights that a strategic simple switch from proton exchange membranes(PEMs) to hydroxide exchange membranes(HEMs) may lead to a new-generation of affordable electrochemical energy devices including fuel cells, electrolyzers, and solar hydrogen generators. For lithium-ion batteries, a series of advancements in design and chemistry are required for electric vehicle and energy storage applications. Manufacturing process development and optimization of the LiF eP O_4/C cathode materials and several emerging novel anode materials are also discussed using the authors' work as examples.Design and manufacturing process of lithium-ion battery electrodes are introduced in detail, and modeling and optimization of large-scale lithium-ion batteries are also presented. 12Preparation of silver tin oxide powders by hydrothermal reduction and crystallization显示文摘Silver tin oxide composite powders were synthesized by the hydrothermal method with a silver ammine solution and a Na2SnO3 solution as raw materials. H2C2O4 was used as the co-precipitator of silver ions and tin ions. The co-precipitation conditions were investigated. The results show that the co-precipitate of Ag2C2O4 and Sn(OH)4 is available when the pH value of the solution is 4.27-8.36. Using the obtained precipitate as precursor,the reduction of Ag+ and the crystallization of tin oxide were carried out simultaneously by the hydrothermal method and silver tin oxide composite powders were obtained. The composite powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis,scanning electron microscope (SEM),and energy spectrum analysis. 13Green and efficient degradation of cefoperazone sodium by Bi_(4)O_(5)Br_(2) leading to the production of non-toxic products:Performance and degradation pathway显示文摘Photocatalytic process represents a promising approach to overcome the pollution challenge associated with the antibiotics-containing wastewater.This study provides a green,efficient and novel approach to remove cephalosporins,particularly cefoperazone sodium(CFP).Bi_(4)O_(5)Br_(2) was chosen for the first time to systematically study its degradation for CFP,including the analysis of material structure,degradation performance,the structure and toxicity of the transformation products,etc.The degradation rate results indicated that Bi_(4)O_(5)Br_(2) had an excellent catalytic activity leading to 78%CFP removal compared with the pure BiOBr(38%)within 120 min of visible light irradiation.In addition,the Bi_(4)O_(5)Br_(2) presents high stability and good organic carbon removal efficiency.The effects of the solution p H(3.12-8.75)on catalytic activity revealed that CFP was mainly photocatalyzed under acidic conditions and hydrolyzed under alkaline conditions.Combined with active species and degradation product identification,the photocatalytic degradation pathways of CFP by Bi_(4)O_(5)Br_(2) was proposed,including hydrolysis,oxidation,reduction and decarboxylation.Most importantly,the identified products were all hydrolysis rather than oxidation byproducts transformed from the intermediate ofβ-lactam bond cleavage in CFP molecule,quite different from the mostly previous studies.Furthermore,the final products were demonstrated to be less toxic through the toxicity analysis.Overall,this study illustrates the detailed mechanism of CFP degradation by Bi_(4)O_(5)Br_(2) and confirms Bi_(4)O_(5)Br_(2) to be a promising material for the photodegradation of CFP.Yingying Chen Ruiping Li Yan Gu Hailin Tian Yingping Huang Junsong Chen Yanfen Fang Changying Yang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,2:4
14High energy batteries based on sulfur cathode显示文摘Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)have become an indispensable part of our daily life,however,the energy and power capability that LIBs can deliver are lagging far behind the ever-increasing demands of portable electronics and electric vehicles.Metal-sulfur batteries as one of the most promising alternatives to LIBs are receiving rapidly growing research interests due to the extremely high energy density and abundant resources of sulfur.In this short review,we will discuss the state-of-art development of high energy density battery technologies based on sulfur cathode in combination with different metal anodes,with focus on sodium,magnesium and aluminum anodes.We leave lithium-sulfur batteries out of discussion since there are already a large number of nicely organized review papers available.The operation mechanism of various anode materials and the variety of electrolytes used in sulfur batteries will be reviewed.Some perspectives on improving the performances and overcoming the remaining issues in sulfur batteries will be discussed.It is expected that this review will draw more attention to sulfur batteries from both the academic and industrial communities.Jian Zhu Jianli Zou Hua Cheng Yingying Gu Zhouguang Lu 2019Green Energy & Environment2019,4,4:4

16Effect of heat treatment on the microstructure of a Ni–Fe based superalloy for advanced ultra-supercritical power plant applications显示文摘The effect of heat treatment on the microstructure and microhardness of a Ni–Fe based superalloy for700 °C advanced ultra-supercritical coalfi red power plants was investigated. Results showed that the main phases in the alloy were γ, γ′, MC and M_23C_6, and no harmful phase was observed in the alloy.M_23C_6-type carbides discretely distributed nearby grain boundaries as the alloy was aged at above840 °C. The microhardness decreased with increasing aging temperature. The coarsening of γ′ led to the increment of microhardness at 780 °C and 810 °C for a short aging time, and a signi fi cant decrease in microhardness after aging at 840 °C. The aging temperature had more signi fi cant role on the microstructure than holding time. 20Ground demonstration system based on in-orbit assembly oriented manipulator flexible force control显示文摘To eliminate the load weight limit of carrier rockets and reduce the burden on support structures,in-orbit assembly is a key technology to make design of scattering a large diameter telescope into submirror modules,which requires smooth operation of assembly robots,and flexible force control technology is necessary. A ground demonstration system is presented for in-orbit assembly focusing on flexible force control. A six-dimensional force/torque sensor and its data acquisition system are used to compensate for gravity. For translation and rotation,an algorithm for flexible control is proposed. A ground transportation demonstration verifies accuracy and smoothness of flexible force control,and the transportation and assembly task is completed automatically.
