| 1 | Complement C7 is a novel risk gene for Alzheimer's disease in Han Chinese显示文摘Alzheimer's disease is the most common neurodegenerative disease,and has a high level of genetic heritability and population heterogeneity.In this study,we performed the whole-exome sequencing of Han Chinese patients with familial and/or early-onset Alzheimer's disease,followed by independent validation,imaging analysis and function characterization.We identified an exome-wide significant rare missense variant rs3792646(p.K420Q)in the C7 gene in the discovery stage(P=1.09×10^(-6),odds ratio=7.853)and confirmed the association in different cohorts and a combined sample(1615 cases and 2832 controls,P_(combined)=2.99×10^(-7),odds ratio=1.930).The risk allele was associated with decreased hippocampal volume and poorer working memory performance in early adulthood,thus resulting in an earlier age of disease onset.Overexpression of the mutant p.K420Q disturbed cell viability,immune activation and β-amyloid processing.Electrophysiological analyses showed that the mutant p.K420Q impairs the inhibitory effect of wild type C7 on the excitatory synaptic transmission in pyramidal neurons.These findings suggested that C7 is a novel risk gene for Alzheimer’s disease in Han Chinese. | Deng-Feng Zhang Yu Fan Min Xu Guihong Wang Dong Wang Jin Li Li-Li Kong Hejiang Zhou Rongcan Luo Rui Bi Yong Wu Guo-Dong Li Ming Li Xiong-Jian Luo Hong-Yan Jiang Liwen Tan Chunjiu Zhong Yiru Fang Chen Zhang Nengyin Sheng Tianzi Jiang Yong-Gang Yao | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,2: | 6 |

| 3 | Scalable and facile synthesis of V_(2)O_(5) nanoparticles via ball milling for improved aerobic oxidative desulfurization显示文摘In recent years, transition-metal oxides(TMOs) have been long employed for aerobic oxidative desulfurization. However, the inherent bottlenecks, such as the low explosion of active sites, limit the application of bulk TMOs catalyst. In this study, V_(2)O_(5) nanoparticles with oxygen vacancies were prepared in large-scale via facile ball milling strategy with adding oxalic acid as a reducing agent. The as-prepared catalysts exhibit remarkable sulfur removal for oils with different initial S-concentrations and different substrates. Sulfur removal could reach up to 99.7%(< 2 ppm) under the optimized reaction conditions. | 8 | GhKT2: a novel K^+ transporter gene in cotton(Gossypium hirsutum)显示文摘Potassium is an essential nutrient for plant growth and productivity of crops. K+transporters are important for K+uptake and transport in plants. However,information on the function of K+transporters and K+channels in cotton is limited. The KT/KUP/HAK protein family is essential for a variety of physiological processes in plants, including nutrient acquisition and regulation of development. This study, identified a K+transporter gene,Gh KT2, expressed in the roots of cotton(Gossypium hirsutum) cv. Liaomian17. The deduced transcript of Gh KT2 is highly homologous to Cluster II of KUP/HAK/KT K+transporters and is predicted to contain 11 transmembrane domains. Gh KT2 has been localized to the plasma membrane, and its transcripts were detected in roots, stems, leaves and shoot apices of cotton seedlings.Consistently, b-glucuronidase(GUS) expression driven by the Gh KT2 promoter could be detected in roots, mesophyll cells, and leaf veins in transgenic Arabidopsis. In addition,the expression of Gh KT2 was induced by low K+stress in cotton roots and p Gh KT2::GUS-transgenic Arabidopsis seedlings. The Gh KT2-overexpression Arabidopsis lines plants were larger and showed greater K+accumulation than the wild type(WT) regardless of K+concentration supplied. The net K+influx rate, measured by the noninvasive micro-test technique, in root meristem zone of Gh KT2-transgenic Arabidopsis lines was significantly greater than that of WT. | 11 | Numerical Simulation to Evaluate the Effects of Upward Lightning Discharges on Thunderstorm Electrical Parameters显示文摘A theoretical discussion of the discharge effects of upward lightning simulated with a fine-resolution 2D thunderstorm model is performed in this paper,and the results reveal that the estimates of the total induced charge on the upward lightning discharge channels range from 0.67 to 118.8 C,and the average value is 19.0 C,while the ratio of the induced charge on the leader channels to the total opposite-polarity charge in the discharge region ranges from 5.9%to 47.3%,with an average value of 14.7%.Moreover,the average value of the space electrostatic energy consumed by upward lightning is 1.06×10^9 J.The above values are lower than those related to intracloud lightning discharges.The density of the deposited opposite-polarity charge is comparable in magnitude to that of the preexisting charge in the discharge area,and the deposition of these opposite-polarity charges rapidly destroys the original space potential well in the discharge area and greatly reduces the space electric field strength.In addition,these opposite-polarity charges are redistributed with the development of thunderstorms.The space charge redistribution caused by lightning discharges partly accounts for the complexity of the charge structures in a thunderstorm,and the complexity gradually decreases with the charge neutralization process. | Tianxue ZHENG Yongbo TAN Yiru WANG | 2021 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,3: | 2 |
| 12 | Cost-effectiveness analysis on COVID-19 surveillance strategy of large-scale sports competition显示文摘Background:Nucleic acid test(NAT)could effectively control the spread of COVID-19 caused by large-scale sports competitions.However,quantitative analysis on the appropriate frequency of NAT is scarce,and the cost-effectiveness and necessity of high-frequency NAT remain to be fully explored and validated.This study aims to optimize the COVID-19 surveillance strategies through cost-effectiveness analysis for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and the upcoming Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.Methods:A total of 18 scenarios were designed regarding the NAT frequency,symptom monitoring,and strengthening close-contact control.An agent-based stochastic dynamic model was used to compare the cost-effectiveness of different NAT scenarios and optimize the surveillance strategies.The dynamics of the proposed model included the arrival and departure of agents,transmission of the disease according to Poisson processes,and quarantine of agents based on regular NATs and symptom onset.Accumulative infections,cost,and incremental cost-effectiveness ratio(ICER)were simulated in the frame of the model.ICER was used to compare the cost-effectiveness of different scenarios.Univariate sensitivity analysis was performed to test the robustness of the results.Results:In Scenario 16,where the competition-related personnel(CRP)received NAT daily and national sports delegation(NSD)with quarantined infections accepted an additional NAT daily,accumulative infection was 320.90(90 initial infections),the total cost was(United States Dollar)USD 8920000,and the cost of detecting out each infection was USD 27800.Scenario 16 would reduce the total cost by USD 22570000(avoid 569.61 infections),USD 1420000(avoid 47.2 infections)compared with Scenario 10(weekly NAT,strengthened close contact control)and Scenario 7(daily NAT,no strengthened close contact control),respectively.Sensitivity analysis showed that the result was most sensitive to the change in basic reproductive number.Conclusions:High-frequency NATs such as bidaily,daily,and twice a day were cost-effective.NAT daily for CRP with strengthening close-contact control could be prioritized in defense against COVID-19 at large-scale sports competitions.This study could assist policymakers by assessing the cost-effectiveness of NAT scenarios and provide the host country with an optimal COVID-19 surveillance strategy. | Xuechun Wang Yiru Cai Bo Zhang Xiangyu Zhang Lianhao Wang Xiangyu Yan Mingchen Zhao Yuan Zhang Zhongwei Jia | 2022 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2022,11,2: | 2 |

It has been found that the size, shape, and geometry of the structure may affect the performance of the sensor. As a result, a topology optimization methodology is proposed in this paper for the design of micro-mass sensors. A phasefiel function controlled by nodal variables and finit element shape functions is used to describe the configuratio of a sensor in the constructed optimization problem. The design goal is to maximize the mass detection sensitivity. On the basis of these formulations, an optimization algorithm is constructed using the finit element method and the method of moving asymptotes. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the validity of the proposed problem formulation.
