1Prognostic value of preoperative prognostic nutritional index and its associations with systemic inflammatory response markers in patients with stage Ⅲ colon cancer显示文摘Background: The prognostic nutritional index(PNI) has been widely applied for predicting survival outcomes of patients with various malignant tumors. Although a low PNI predicts poor prognosis in patients with colorectal cancer after tumor resection, the prognostic value remains unknown in patients with stage Ⅲ colon cancer undergoing curative tumor resection followed by adjuvant chemotherapy. This study aimed to investigate the prognostic value of PNI in patients with stage III colon cancer.Methods: Medical records of 274 consecutive patients with stage Ⅲ colon cancer undergoing curative tumor resection followed by adjuvant chemotherapy with oxaliplatin and capecitabine between December 2007 and December2013 were reviewed. The optimal PNI cutoff value was determined using receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve analysis. The associations of PNI with systemic inflammatory response markers, including lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio(LMR), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR), and C-reactive protein(CRP)level, and clinicopathologic characteristics were assessed using the Chi square or Fisher's exact test. Correlation analysis was performed using Spearman's correlation coefficient. Disease-free survival(DFS) and overall survival(OS)stratified by PNI were analyzed using Kaplan-Meier method and log-rank test, and prognostic factors were identified by Cox regression analyses.Results: The preoperative PNI was positively correlated with LMR(r= 0.483, P < 0.001) and negatively correlated with NLR(r =-0.441, P < 0.001), PLR(r =-0.607, P < 0.001), and CRP level(r =-0.333, P < 0.001). A low PNI(≤49.22)was significantly associated with short OS and DFS in patients with stage ⅢC colon cancer but not in patients with stage ⅢA/ⅢB colon cancer.In addition, patients with a low PNI achieved a longer OS and DFS after being treated with6-8 cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy than did those with < 6 cycles. 3Construction of heparin-based hydrogel incorporated with Cu_(5.4)O ultrasmall nanozymes for wound healing and inflammation inhibition显示文摘Excessive production of inflammatory chemokines and reactive oxygen species(ROS)can cause a feedback cycle of inflammation response that has a negative effect on cutaneous wound healing.The use of wound-dressing materials that simultaneously absorb chemokines and scavenge ROS constitutes a novel‘weeding and uprooting’treatment strategy for inflammatory conditions.In the present study,a composite hydrogel comprising an amine-functionalized star-shaped polyethylene glycol(starPEG)and heparin for chemokine sequestration as well as Cu_(5.4)O ultrasmall nanozymes for ROS scavenging(Cu_(5.4)O@Hep-PEG)was developed.The material effectively adsorbs the inflammatory chemokines monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 and interleukin-8,decreasing the migratory activity of macrophages and neutrophils.Furthermore,it scavenges the ROS in wound fluids to mitigate oxidative stress,and the sustained release of Cu_(5.4)O promotes angiogenesis.In acute wounds and impaired-healing wounds(diabetic wounds),Cu_(5.4)O@Hep-PEG hydrogels outperform the standard-of-care product Promogram®in terms of inflammation reduction,increased epidermis regeneration,vascularization,and wound closure.Yuan Peng Danfeng He Xin Ge Yifei Lu Yuanhao Chai Yixin Zhang Zhengwei Mao Gaoxing Luo Jun Deng Yan Zhang 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,10:7

5The modified bilobed flap for reconstructing sacral decubitus ulcers显示文摘Background:Sacral pressure ulcers are associated with high morbidity and,in some cases,result in mortality from severe sepsis.Local flaps are frequently used for reconstruction of stage III and IV pressure ulcers.An ideal flap should be simple to design,have a reliable vascular supply and minimal donor site morbidity.Our study evaluates the use of a bilobed flap based on the superficial branch of the superior gluteal artery or the posterior branch of the fourth lumbar artery to reconstruct the sacral pressure ulcer.Case presentation:We performed a retrospective analysis of paraplegic patients with sacral pressure ulcers treated with our bilobed flaps from January 2015 to December 2019.A description of our management,operative protocol,outcome and complications is outlined.Seven paraplegic patients(6 male,1 female;average age 53.1 years)with sacral pressure ulcers were treated with our bilobed flap based on the superficial branch of the superior gluteal artery or the posterior branch of the fourth lumbar artery.The average size of the pressure ulcers was 7×5 cm(range 6.2×4.5 cm to 11×10 cm).All 7 flaps survived.The patients were followed up for 12 months without significant complications,such as flap necrosis or recurrence.Conclusions:The superficial branch of the superior gluteal artery or the posterior branch of the fourth lumbar artery reliably supplies the bilobed flap.The superior cluneal nerve can be included in the design.The technique is simple and reliable.It should be included in the reconstructive algorithm for the management of sacral pressure ulcers.Xiangong Jiao Chunxiao Cui Sally Kiu-Huen Ng Zhangjia Jiang Chihui Tu Jiemin Zhou Xiandong Lu Xianwen Ouyang Tong Luo Ke Li Yixin Zhang 2020Burns & Trauma2020,8,1:4

7Incidence and prevalence of moyamoya disease in urban China: a nationwide retrospective cohort study显示文摘Background and objective Moyamoya disease(MMD)is an increasingly recognised cause of stroke,mainly described in East Asia.China is the largest nation in Asia,but few studies reported the epidemiology of MMD,especially at a national level.We aimed to estimate the incidence and prevalence of MMD in China.Methods We performed a population-based study using data from the national databases of Urban Basic Medical Insurance between 2013 and 2016,covering approximately 0.50 billion individuals.MMD cases were identified by diagnostic code(International Classification of Diseases,10th Revision I67.5)or related diagnostic text.Results A total of 1987 MMD patients(mean age 44.45±14.30 years,female-to male ratio 1.12)were identified,representing a national crude incidence of 0.59(95%CI:0.49 to 0.68)and a prevalence of 1.01(95%CI:0.81 to 1.21)per 100000 person-years in 2016.Rates were higher in females than in males for the incidence(0.66 vs 0.52)and prevalence(1.05 vs 0.90).And the age-specific rates showed a bimodal distribution,with the highest peak in middle-aged group and the second peak in child group.Conclusions Our results confirm that MMD is relatively common in East Asians,but the rates in China were lower than those in other East Asian countries such as Japan and Korea.The unique epidemiological features,including a relatively weak female predominance and a shift in the highest peak of incidence from children to adults,revealed new sight into MMD.Further research is expected to explore the potential pathogenesis of MMD.Yixin Sun Guoyu Zhou Jingnan Feng Lu Chen Guozhen Liu Jinxi Wang Qingliang Wang Junyou Yu Xiwang Yang Zheng Yang Pei Gao Shengfeng Wang Siyan Zhan 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,4:4
8Ecological principle meets cancer treatment: treating children with acute myeloid leukemia with low-dose chemotherapy显示文摘Standard chemotherapy regimens for remission induction of pediatric acute myeloid leukemia(AML) are associated with significant morbidity and mortality. We performed a cohort study to determine the impact of reducing the intensity of remission induction chemotherapy on the outcomes of selected children with AML treated with a low-dose induction regimen plus granulocyte colony stimulating factor(G-CSF)(low-dose chemotherapy(LDC)/G-CSF). Complete response(CR) after two induction courses was attained in 87.0%(40/46) of patients receiving LDC/G-CSF. Post-remission therapy was offered to all patients, and included standard consolidation and/or stem cell transplantation. During the study period, an additional 94 consecutive children with AML treated with standard chemotherapy(SDC) for induction(80/94(85.1%) of the patients attained CR after induction Ⅱ, P = 0.953) and post-remission. In this non-randomized study, there were no significant differences in 4-year event-free(67.4 vs. 70.7%;P = 0.99)and overall(70.3 vs. 74.6%, P = 0.69) survival in the LDC/G-CSF and SDC cohorts, respectively. After the first course of induction, recovery of white blood cell(WBC) and platelet counts were significantly faster in patients receiving LDC/G-CSF than in those receiving SDC(11.5 vs. 18.5 d for WBCs(P < 0.001);15.5 vs. 22.0 d for platelets(P < 0.001)). To examine the quality of molecular response, targeted deep sequencing was performed. Of 137 mutations detected at diagnosis in 20 children who attained hematological CR after two courses of LDC/G-CSF(n = 9) or SDC(n = 11), all of the mutations were below the reference value(variant allelic frequency <2.5%) after two courses, irrespective of the treatment group. In conclusion, children with AML receiving LDC/G-CSF appear to have similar outcomes and mutation clearance levels, but significantly lower toxicity than those receiving SDC. 9Dynamic failure risk of coal pillar formed by irregular shape longwall face:A case study显示文摘Irregular shape workface would result in the presence of coal pillar, which leads to high stress concentration and possibly induces coal bumps. In order to study the coal bump mechanism of pillars, static and dynamic stress overlapping(SDSO) method was proposed to explain the impacts of static stress concentration and tremors induced by mining activities. The stress and deformation in surrounding rock of mining face were analyzed based on the field case study at 1303 workface in Zhaolou Coal Mine in China.The results illustrate that the surrounding rock of a workface could be divided into four different zones,i.e., residual stress zone, stress decrease zone, stress increase zone and original stress zone. The stress increase zone is prone to failure under the SDSO impact loading conditions and will provide elastic energy for inducing coal bump. Based on the numerical modelling results, the evolution of static stress in coal pillar as the size of gob increasing was studied, and the impact of dynamic stress was investigated through analyzing the characteristics of tremor activities. The numerical results demonstrate the peak value of vertical stress in coal pillar rises from about 30 MPa with mining distance 10 m to 52.6 MPa with mining distance 120 m, and the location of peak stress transfers to the inner zone of coal pillars as the workface moves forward. 10Genome-wide identi?cation of loci affecting seed glucosinolate contents in Brassica napus L.显示文摘Glucosinolates are amino acid-derived secondary metabolites that act as chemical defense agents against pests.However,the presence of high levels of glucosinolates severely diminishes the nutritional value of seed meals made from rapeseed(Brassica napus L.).To identify the loci affecting seed glucosinolate cont ent(SGC),we con ducted genome-wide resequencing in a population of 307 diverse B.napus accessions from the three B.napus ecotype groups,namely,spring,winter,and semi-winter.These resequencing data were used for a genome-wide association study(GWAS)to identify the loci affecting SGC.In the three ecotype groups,four comm on and four ecotype-specific haplotype blocks(HBs)were significantly associated with SGC.To identify candidate genes controlling SGC,transcriptome analysis was carried out in 36 accessions showing extreme SGC values.Analyses of haplotypes,genomic variation,and candidate gene expression pointed to five and three candidate genes in the common and spring group-specific HBs,respectively.Our expression analyses dem on strated that additive effects of the three candidate genes in the spring group-specific HB play important roles in the SGC of B.napus.Dayong Wei Yixin Cui Jiaqin Mei Lunwen Qian Kun Lu Zhi-Min Wang Jiana Li Qinglin Tang Wei Qian 2019Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2019,61,5:2
11Facile preparation of nano-g-C_(3)N_(4)/UiO-66-NH_(2) composite as sorbent for high-efficient extraction and preconcentration of food colorants prior to HPLC analysis显示文摘In this work,the nano-g-C_(3)N_(4)/Ui O-66-NH_(2)composite was prepared by one-step solvothermal method.The as-prepared composite was characterized by scanning electron microscopy,Brunner-Emmet-Teller measurement,energy dispersive spectrometer,X-ray diffraction,and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.By using nano-g-C_(3)N_(4)/Ui O-66-NH_(2)composite as sorbent,a dispersive solid-phase extraction coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography was developed to sensitive analysis of food colorants including tartrazine,amaranth,carmine,sunset yellow,allura red and bright blue.The experiment parameters including the amount of sorbent,adsorption time,the p H of adsorption solution,desorption time,desorption solvent,the p H of desorption solution as well as the proportion between desorption solvent and buffer solvent were investigated.Under the optimized conditions,the limits of detection(S/N=3) and limits of quantitation (S/N=10) were determined in the ranges of 0.08-0.8 and 0.2-2.0 ng/m L,respectively.With the developed sample pretreatment method,carmine and brilliant blue were determined from blueberry juice by HPLC-DAD.The contents were calculated as 1.53μg/m L and0.17μg/mL,respectively.Xiaowan Zhang Yixin Yang Peige Qin Lizhen Han Wenli Zhu Shaofeng Duan Minghua Lu Zongwei Cai 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,2:2

15New Algorithm Rules Out Acute-on-chronic Liver Failure Development within 28 Days from Acute Decompensation of Cirrhosis显示文摘Background and Aims:Approximately 10%of patients with acute decompensated(AD)cirrhosis develop acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF)within 28 days.Such cases have high mortality and are difficult to predict.Therefore,we aimed to establish and validate an algorithm to identify these patients on hospitalization.Methods:Hospitalized patients with AD who developed ACLF within 28 days were considered pre-ACLF.Organ dysfunction was defined accord-ing to the chronic liver failure-sequential organ failure as-sessment(CLIF-SOFA)criteria,and proven bacterial infec-tion was taken to indicate immune system dysfunction.A retrospective multicenter cohort and prospective one were used to derive and to validate the potential algorithm,re-spectively.A miss rate of<5%was acceptable for the calcu-lating algorithm to rule out pre-ACLF.Results:In the deri-vation cohort(n=673),46 patients developed ACLF within 28 days.Serum total bilirubin,creatinine,international normalized ratio,and present proven bacterial infection at admission were associated with the development of ACLF.AD patients with≥2 organ dysfunctions had a higher risk for pre-ACLF patients[odds ratio=16.58195%confidence interval:(4.271-64.363),p<0.001].In the derivation co-hort,67.5%of patients(454/673)had≤1 organ dysfunction and two patients(0.4%)were pre-ACLF,with a miss rate of 4.3%(missed/total,2/46).In the validation cohort,65.9%of patients(914/1388)had≤1 organ dysfunction,and four(0.3%)of them were pre-ACLF,with a miss rate of 3.4%(missed/total,4/117).Conclusions:AD patients with≤1 organ dysfunction had a significantly lower risk of developing ACLF within 28 days of admission and could be safely ruled out with a pre-ACLF miss rate of<5%.Xiaoting Tang Hai Li Guohong Deng Xin Zheng Xianbo Wang Yan Huang Yanhang Gao Zhongji Meng Zhiping Qian Feng Liu Xiaobo Lu Yu Shi Beiling Li Wenyi Gu Xiaomei Xiang Yan Xiong Yixin Hou Jun Chen Na Gao Sen Luo Liujuan Ji Jing Li Rongjiong Zheng Haotang Ren Jinjun Chen 2023Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,3:1

18Study on Intervention of Blood Sugar and Blood Lipid in Diabetic Mice by Abrus Cantoniensis and Armeniaca mume Sieb and Their Compatibility显示文摘Objective:The study aims to explore the interventional effect of Abrus cantonensis and Armeniaca mume Sieb and their compatibility on blood glucose and blood lipid in diabetic mice and to explore the optimal ratio of efficacy of their compatibility.Methods:SPF Kunming male mice were fed with high sugar and high fat diet for 6 weeks and then intraperitoneally injected with STZ solution to establish a diabetes model.The successfully modeled mice were randomly divided into 6 groups according to their body weight:model group,Abrus Cantoniensis group,Armeniaca mume Sieb group,as well as Abrus Cantoniensis and Armeniaca mume Sieb group divided into 1:2,1:1 and 2:1 groups according to volume ratio with 10 mice in each group.Another 10 healthy mice were taken as blank group and intraperitoneally injected with sodium citrate buffer.The corresponding solution was given intragastric administration by body mass once a day for 20 days.After the last administration,fasting was performed for 12 hours.Serum was collected by the method of eyeball blood collection to determine the contents of fasting blood glucose,total cholesterol Triacylglycerol,triglyceride,low density lipoprotein and high-density lipoprotein.Results:Compared with Abrus Cantoniensis and Armeniaca mume Sieb groups,Glu,TG,TC and LDL-C of the three compatibility groups significantly decreased,with the most significant decrease in the compatibility group 1:2,while there was no significant difference in HDL-C among all groups.Conclusion:Abrus Cantoniensis and Armeniaca mume Sieb and their combination have synergistic effects on the improvement of blood glucose and lipid levels in mice with high glucose and high fat combined with STZ-induced diabetes mellitus model.Among all the experimental groups,the compatibility 1:2 group had the best effect.Yixin Zhang Shibo Zhao Sitong Lu Danni Lu Yedong Shen Changhuan He Zhonggang Wu Suoyi Huang 2021TMR Pharmacology Research2021,1,4:1
