1A Risk Prediction Model for Ischemic Stroke in Southern Chinese Population:Impact of Multiple Genetic Variants and Clinical/Lifestyle Factors显示文摘With a global prevalence of 7.7 million,ischemic stroke(IS)is one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide.In China,IS alone contributed to 69.6%of stroke events and accounted for 37.1%of the mortality/disability rate[1].IS is a complex disease that is known to be associated with various genetic variants and clinical and lifestyle risk factors[2].Genome-wide association studies(GWAS)provided evidence for the occurrence of more than 160 IS-associated single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs).In terms of clinical risk factors,patients with a history of chronic diseases like hypertension,dyslipidemia,and diabetes mellitus,display a higher risk of developing IS.Among the various lifestyle components,leading a sedentary lifestyle,smoking,and having an unhealthy diet are known to be associated with the risk of IS.Thus,integration of various genetic,clinical,and lifestyle variables might prove to be highly beneficial in the prediction and prevention of IS at the individual level[3].YE Cheng Yin LI Jin Mei WU Jing Hua LI Zheng XIAO Juan YIN Xiao Yu WANG Da Hui XU Guo Zhang YANG Lei 2021Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2021,34,8:2
2Genomic analyses reveal distinct genetic architectures and selective pressures in Chinese donkeys显示文摘Donkey(Equus asinus)is an important livestock animal in China because of its draft and medicinal value.After a long period of natural and artificial selection,the variety and phenotype of donkeys have become abundant.We clarified the genetic and demographic characteristics of Chinese domestic donkeys and the selection pressures by analyzing 78 whole genomes from 12 breeds.According to population structure,most Chinese domestic donkeys showed a dominant ancestral type.However,the Chinese donkeys still represented a significant geographical distribution trend.In the selective sweep,gene annotation,functional enrichment,and differential expression analyses between large and small donkey groups,we identified selective signals,including NCAPG and LCORL,which are related to rapid growth and large body size.Our findings elucidate the evolutionary history and formation of different donkey breeds and provide theoretical insights into the genetic mechanism underlying breed characteristics and molecular breeding programs of donkey clades.Jiafei Shen Jie Yu Xuelei Da Mei Li Gang Wang Ningbo Chen Hong Chen Chuzhao Lei Ruihua Dang 2021Journal of Genetics and Genomics2021,48,8:2

8HIV-1 Subtype Diversity and Factors Affecting Drug Resistance among Patients with Virologic Failure in Antiretroviral Therapy in Hainan Province,China,2014–2020显示文摘Objective This study aimed to determine the HIV-1 subtype distribution and HIV drug resistance(HIVDR)in patients with ART failure from 2014 to 2020 in Hainan,China.Methods A 7-year cross-sectional study was conducted among HIV/AIDS patients with ART failure in Hainan.We used online subtyping tools and the maximum likelihood phylogenetic tree to confirm the HIV subtypes with pol sequences.Drug resistance mutations(DRMs)were analyzed using the Stanford University HIV Drug Resistance Database.Results A total of 307 HIV-infected patients with ART failure were included,and 241 available pol sequences were obtained.Among 241 patients,CRF01_AE accounted for 68.88%,followed by CRF07_BC(17.00%)and eight other subtypes(14.12%).The overall prevalence of HIVDR was 61.41%,and the HIVDR against non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors(NNRTIs),nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors(NRTIs),and protease inhibitors(PIs)were 59.75%,45.64%,and 2.49%,respectively.Unemployed patients,hypoimmunity or opportunistic infections in individuals,and samples from 2017 to 2020 increased the odd ratios of HIVDR.Also,HIVDR was less likely to affect female patients.The common DRMs to NNRTIs were K103N(21.99%)and Y181C(20.33%),and M184V(28.21%)and K65R(19.09%)were the main DRMs against NRTIs.Conclusion The present study highlights the HIV-1 subtype diversity in Hainan and the importance of HIVDR surveillance over a long period.YU De E XU Yu Jun LI Mu YANG Yuan LIANG Hua Yue ZHONG Shan Mei QIN Cai LAN Ya Nan LI Da Wei YU Ji Peng PANG Yuan QIN Xue Qiu LIANG Hao ZHU Kao Kao YE Li LIANG Bing Yu 2023Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2023,36,9:0
9Phases confirmation of cloudy Silwet L-77 aqueous solution by dielectric relaxation spectroscopy显示文摘The phase transition of Silwet L-77 (a kind of siloxane surfactant) dilute aqueous solution with temperature was investigated by dielectric relaxation spectroscopy. In the initial heating process, a dielectric relaxation was found at about 106 Hz, which was considered as the interface polarization ascribed to the interface between water and liquid phases (Wand L1). With the temperature increasing further, a new dielectric relaxation was observed at about 104 Hz, which was assigned to the appearance of liquid crystal phase (Lα).
