| 1 | Assessing the health risk of heavy metals in vegetables to the general population in Beijing,China显示文摘A systematic survey of As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn concentrations in vegetables from 416 samples (involving 100 varieties) in Beijing was carried out for assessing the potential health risk to local inhabitants. The results indicated that the metal concentrations in vegetables ranged from < 0.001 to 0.479 μg/g fresh weight (fw) (As), < 0.001 to 0.101 μg/g fw (Cd), < 0.001 to 1.04 μg/g fw (Cr), 0.024 to 8.25 μg/g fw (Cu), 0.001 to 1.689 μg/g fw (Ni), < 0.001 to 0.655 μg/g fw (Pb) and 0.01 to 25.6 μg/g fw (Zn), with average concentrations of 0.013, 0.010, 0.023, 0.51, 0.053, 0.046 and 2.55 μg/g fw, respectively. The results showed that the concentrations of As, Cr, Cu, Cd, Pb and Ni in vegetables from open-fields were all significantly higher than those grown in greenhouses. In addition, in local-produced vegetables, all HMs except Zn were significantly higher than those in provincial vegetables. The estimated daily intake (EDI) of As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn from vegetables was 0.080, 0.062, 0.142, 3.14, 0.327, 0.283 and 15.7 μg/(kg body weight (bw)·d) for adults, respectively. Arsenic was the major risk contributor for inhabitants since the target hazard quotient based on the weighted average concentration (THQw) of arsenic amounted to 44.3% of the total THQ (TTHQ) value according to average vegetable consumption. | 2 | An Archean continental block in the Taihangshan and Hengshan regions: Constraints from geochronology and geochemistry显示文摘Recent research on the tectonothermal evolution and geochronology in the Fuping, Hengshan and Wutaishan metamorphic complexes, together with the discoveries of a high-pressure granulite belt in the northern margin of the North China Craton (NCC) and high-pressure metapelites in the Jingangku Group of the Wutaishan complex, suggests that there was a Neoarchean to Paleoproterozoic orogenic belt related to collision between the Eastern and Western continental blocks. Comparison of geological, geochronological, tectonothermal and geochemical data between the Fuping and Hengshan complexes suggests these two complexes most likely originated and evolved as a single lithotectonic domain (i.e., the Taihangshan-Hengshan block) during the early evolution of the North China Craton, probably as an active margin to the Eastern Continental Block. | 3 | Responses of microbial activities and soil physical-chemical properties to the successional process of biological soil crusts in the Gurbantunggut Desert,Xinjiang显示文摘Biological soil crusts(BSCs) are capable of modifying nutrient availability to favor the establishment of biogeochemical cycles. Microbial activities serve as critical roles for both carbon and nutrient transformation in BSCs. However, little is known about microbial activities and physical-chemical properties of BSCs in the Gurbantunggut Desert, Xinjiang, China. In the present research, a sampling line with 1-m wide and 20-m long was set up in each of five typical interdune areas selected randomly in the Gurbantunggut Desert. Within each sampling line, samples of bare sand sheet, algal crusts, lichen crusts and moss crusts were randomly collected at the depth of 0–2 cm. Variations of microalgal biomass, microbial biomass, enzyme activities and soil physical-chemical properties in different succession of BSCs were analyzed. The relationships between microalgal biomass, microbial biomass, enzymatic activities and soil physical-chemical properties were explored by stepwise regression. Our results indicate that microalgal biomass, microbial biomass and most of enzyme activities increased as the BSCs developed and their highest values occurred in lichen or moss crusts. Except for total K, the contents of most soil nutrients(organic C, total N, total P, available N, available P and available K) were the lowest in the bare sand sheet and significantly increased with the BSCs development, reaching their highest values in moss crusts. However, pH values significantly decreased as the BSCs developed. Significant and positive correlations were observed between chlorophyll a and microbial biomass C. Total P and N were positively associated with chlorophyll a and microbial biomass C, whereas there was a significant and negative correlation between microbial biomass and available P. The growth of cyanobacteria and microorganism contributed C and N in the soil, which offered substrates for enzyme activities thus increasing enzyme activities. Probably, improvement in enzyme activities increased soil fertility and promoted the growth of cyanobacteria, eukaryotic algae and heterotrophic microorganism, with the accelerating succession of BSCs. | 4 | Leaf N and P stoichiometry of 57 plant species in the Karamori Mountain Ungulate Nature Reserve,Xinjiang,China显示文摘Nitrogen(N) and phosphorus(P) are the major nutrients that constrain plant growth and development,as well as the structure and function of ecosystems.Hence,leaf N and P patterns can contribute to a deep understanding of plant nutrient status,nutrient limitation type of ecosystems,plant life-history strategy and differentiation of functional groups.However,the status and pattern of leaf N and P stoichiometry in N-deficiency desert ecosystems remain unclear.Under this context,the leaf samples from 57 plant species in the Karamori Mountain Ungulate Nature Reserve,eastern Junggar Desert,China were investigated and the patterns and interrelations of leaf N and P were comparatively analyzed.The results showed that the average leaf N concentration,P concentration,and N:P ratio were 30.81 mg/g,1.77 mg/g and 17.72,respectively.This study found that the leaf N concentration and N:P ratio were significantly higher than those of studies conducted at global,national and regional scales;however,the leaf P concentration was at moderate level.Leaf N concentration was allometrically correlated with leaf P and N:P ratio across all species.Leaf N,P concentrations and N:P ratio differed to a certain extent among plant functional groups.C_4 plants and shrubs,particularly shrubs with assimilative branches,showed an obviously lower P concentration than those of C_3 plants,herbs and shrubs without assimilative branches.Shrubs with assimilative branches also had lower N concentration.Fabaceae plants had the highest leaf N,P concentrations(as well as Asteraceae) and N:P ratio;other families had a similar N,P-stoichiometry.The soil in this study was characterized by a lack of N(total N:P ratio was 0.605),but had high N availability compared with P(i.e.the available N:P ratio was 1.86).This might explain why plant leaves had high N concentration(leaf N:P ratio>16).In conclusion,the desert plants in the extreme environment in this study have formed their intrinsic and special stoichiometric characteristics in relation to their life-history strategy. | TAO Ye WU Ganlin ZHANG Yuanming ZHOU Xiaobing | 2016 | Journal of Arid Land2016,8,6: | 18 |

| 6 | Numerical analysis for cooling effect of open boundary ripped-rock embankment on Qinghai-Tibetan railway显示文摘The heat convection of fluid inside the ballast layer and ripped-rock layer, which are re- garded as porous media in railway embankment, is a process of heat and mass transfer. At present, the ripped-rock embankment, as a new type of embankment structure, has widely been used in the construction of Qinghai-Tibetan railway. However, because its ripped-rock layer is almost open in two bilateral boundaries and closed at top and bottom, and air can flow into/out of the ballast layer and ripped-rock layer, the convection and transfer heat patterns are very complicated in the embankment. Therefore, based on the temperature and geology conditions of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, a nu- merical approach of the unsteady two-dimensional continuity, momentum (non-Darcy flow) and en- ergy equations of heat convection for incompressible fluid in porous media is provided to analyze the velocity and temperature characteristics of the ripped-rock embankment with different embankment heights under open boundary condition for the coming 50 years in this paper. The calculated results indicate that, due to the influence of the outside wind, the convective heat transfer mainly relies on the forced convection in the open ripped-rock embankment. Even if the air temperature will be warmed up by 2.6℃ in the coming 50 years, it still has a better cooling effect on the underlying soils and a low temperature frozen-soil core is formed in the permafrost below it if the embankment is constructed in the regions whose present mean annual air temperature is ?4.0℃. Furthermore, the cooling effect of high ripped-rock embankment is better than that of low embankment. This is because the wider bot- tom of high embankment has a more influence dimension on the underlying frozen soil. However, cardinal winds on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau disturb its convection pattern, so that an asymmetric temperature distribution occurs under high embankment and it is possible to induce a transverse un- even deformation of embankment, but no similar situation occurs under low embankment. | 8 | Ovary cancer incidence and mortality in China, 2011显示文摘Objective: To evaluate and analyze ovary cancer incidence and mortality in China in 2011 using ovary cancer data from population-based cancer registration in China, and to provide scientific information for its control and prevention.Methods: Invasive cases of ovary cancer were extracted and analyzed from the overall Chinese cancer database in 2011, which were based on data from 177 population-based cancer registries distributing in 28 provinces. The crude, standardized, and truncated incidences and mortalities et al. were calculated and new and deaths cases from ovary cancer throughout China and in different regions in 2011 were estimated using Chinese practical population.Results: The estimates of new ovary cancer cases and deaths were 45,223 and 18,430, respectively, in China in 2011. The crude incidence rate, age-standardized rate by Chinese standard population(ASR-C) and agestandardized rate by world standard population(ASR-W) incidence were 6.89/100,000, 5.35/100,000 and 5.08/100,000, respectively; the crude, ASR-C and ASR-W mortalities were 2.81/100,000, 2.01/100,000 and 1.99/100,000, respectively. The incidence and mortality in urban areas were higher than those in rural areas. The age-specific incidence and mortality increased rapidly from age 35-39 and peaked at age 60-64 or 75-79 years. After age 45 or 55, the age-specific incidence and death rates in urban were much higher than those in rural areas. | 9 | Species composition,distribution patterns and ecological functions of biological soil crusts in the Gurbantunggut Desert显示文摘As one of the most important biological factors that maintain the stability of the largest fixed and semi-fixed desert in China,the Gurbantunggut Desert,the biological soil crusts (BSCs) develop well and play critical ecological roles in the desert ecosystem. In this paper,we briefly summarize our research findings since 2002 including species composition,distribution pattern and ecological functions of BSCs in the desert. Our results indicate abundant species diversity of BSCs in the Gurbantunggut Desert in comparison to other deserts in China. At the scales of sand dune or whole desert,the distribution patterns of BSCs are location-specific. The clear oscillatory zoning of zircons indicates a typical magmatic origin,and the results of dating show that the volcanic rocks of Baiyingaolao Formation were formed in Early Cretaceous( 121. 5 ± 1. 0 Ma). The features of major and trace elements show that the rocks are alkali-rich,poor in calcium and magnesium with enrichment in LILEs like Th,U,K and Gd and depletion in HFSEs,e. g. Nb,Ta,Sr and Ti. The fact implies that they were the products of partial melting of the crust. εHf( t) =( +6.30--+9.06) and TDM2= 600--835 Ma,suggest the magma originated from partial melting of the young crust. | 13 | Responses of activities, abundances and community structures of soil denitrifiers to short-term mercury stress显示文摘The responses of activities, abundances and community structures of soil denitrifiers to mercury (Hg) stress were investigated through a short-term incubation experiment. Four soil treatments with different concentrations of Hg (CK, Hg25, Hg50, and Hg100, denoted as 0, 25, 50, and 100 mg Hg/kg dry soil, respectively) were incubated for 28 days. Soil denitrification enzyme activity (DEA) was measured at day 3, 7 and 28. The abundances and community structures of two denitrification concerning genes, nirS (cd1-nitrite reductase gene) and nosZ (nitrous oxide reductase gene), were analyzed using real-time PCR and denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE). Results showed that soil DEA was significantly stimulated in the treatments of Hg25 and Hg50 compared with others at day 7. Meanwhile, no difference in the abundances of soil nirS and nosZ was found between Hg spiked treatments and CK, except the lower abundance of nirS (P < 0.05) in the Hg added treatments compared with that in the CK at day 28. The community structures of denitrifiers based on nirS gene presented obvious change at day 7 along with the Hg additions, however, no variation was found in all treatments based on the nosZ gene. | 16 | The influence of biological soil crusts on ^(15)N translocation in soil and vascular plant in a temperate desert of northwestern China显示文摘Aims Desert ecosystems are often characterized by patchy distribution of vascular plants,with biological soil crusts(BSC)covering interplant spaces.However,few studies have comprehensively examined the linkage between BSC and vascular plants through nitrogen(N)or element translocation.the objective of this study was to evaluate the ecological roles of BSC on N translocation from soil to the domi-nant herb Erodium oxyrrhynchum bieb.(geraniaceae)in a temper-ate desert in China.Methods Isotopes(including 15N-glu,15N-NH4Cl and 15N-NaNo3)were used as a tracer to detect translocation of N in two types of desert soil(BSC covered;bare)to the dominant herb E.oxyrrhynchum.three different forms of 15N-enriched N compounds were applied as a point source to small patches of BSC and to bare soil.and we measured isotopes(14N and 15N)and obtained the concentration of labeled-15N in both vascular plants and soils at different distances from substrate application Important Findings Plants of E.oxyrrhynchum growing in BSC-covered plots accumulated moreδ15N than those growing in the bare soil.similarly,soil from b Ccovered plots showed a higher concentration of labeled-N irrespective of form of isotope,than did the bare soil.the concentration of dissolved organic N(15N-glu)in E.oxyrrhynchum was higher than that of dis-solved inorganic N(15N-NH4Cl and 15N-NaNo3).soil covered by BSC also accumulated considerably more dissolved organic N than bare soil,whereas the dominant form of 15N concentrated in bare soil was dissolved inorganic N.Correlation analysis showed that the concentra-tion of labeled-N in plants was positively related to the concentration of labeled-N in soils and the N%recorded in E.oxyrrhynchum.our study supports the hypothesis that BSC facilitates ^(15)N translocation in soils and vascular plants in a temperate desert of northwestern China. | WeiWei Zhuang Alison Downing YuanMing Zhang | 2015 | Journal of Plant Ecology2015,8,4: | 7 |
| 17 | Comparison of Modified Mohr-Coulomb Model and Bai-Wierzbicki Model for Constructing 3D Ductile Fracture Envelope of AA6063显示文摘Ductile fracture of metal often occurs in the plastic forming process of parts.The establishment of ductile fracture criterion can effectively guide the selection of process parameters and avoid ductile fracture of parts during machining.The 3D ductile fracture envelope of AA6063-T6 was developed to predict and prevent its fracture.Smooth round bar tension tests were performed to characterize the flow stress,and a series of experiments were conducted to characterize the ductile fracture firstly,such as notched round bar tension tests,compression tests and torsion tests.These tests cover a wide range of stress triaxiality(ST)and Lode parameter(LP)to calibrate the ductile fracture criterion.Plasticity modeling was performed,and the predicted results were compared with corresponding experimental data to verify the plasticity model after these experiments.Then the relationship between ductile fracture strain and ST with LP was constructed using the modified Mohr-Coulomb(MMC)model and Bai-Wierzbicki(BW)model to develop the 3D ductile fracture envelope.Finally,two ductile damage models were proposed based on the 3D fracture envelope of AA6063.Through the comparison of the two models,it was found that BW model had better fitting effect,and the sum of squares of residual error of BW model was 0.9901.The two models had relatively large errors in predicting the fracture strain of SRB tensile test and torsion test,but both of the predicting error of both two models were within the acceptable range of 15%.In the process of finite element simulation,the evolution process of ductile fracture can be well simulated by the two models.However,BW model can predict the location of fracture more accurately than MMC model. | Jianye Gao Tao He Yuanming Huo Miao Song Tingting Yao Wanbo Yang | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2021,34,2: | 6 |
| 18 | Amplification of the miR-181c/d cluster is inversely correlated with PDCD4 expression in gastric cancer显示文摘miR-181c/d is dysregulated in gastric cancer(GC).We investigated the amplification and expression of miR-181c/d and its predicted target genes in GC.Amplification of miR-181c/d was quantified by genomic real-time PCR in GC and adjacent normal tissues,as well as the levels of mature miR-181c/d was performed by real-time PCR in the same tissues.The potential target genes of miR-181c/d were predicted using bioinformatics software.Expression of one potential target gene,PDCD4,was measured by semiquantitative RT-PCR,real-time PCR,and immunohistochemistry.Next,the relationship between miR181c/d expression and PDCD4 expression was analyzed.Results indicated that the amplification and expression of miR-181c/d were significantly higher in GC than in adjacent normal tissues(primary miR-181c/d,P\0.001;miR-181c,P=0.0344;miR-181d,P=0.0153),and there was a strong correlation between mature miR-181c/d and primary miR-181c/d.Thirty-two target genes were predicted,including PDCD4 which is a known tumor suppressor gene.Expression of PDCD4 was significantly down-regulated in GC as compared to adjacent normal tissues and was inversely correlated with miR-181c/d expression in GC(miR-181c and PDCD4:R=-0.496,P=0.008;miR-181d and PDCD4:R=-0.454,P=0.003).Therefore,miR-181c/d may play a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of GC by downregulating PDCD4 expression. | Yuanming Pan Rui Xing Juan An Jiantao Cui Wenmei Li Mingzhou Guo Youyong Lu | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,19: | 6 |
| 19 | Quantitative classification and analysis on plant communities in the middle reaches of the Tarim River显示文摘Plant communities were sampled in the lower reaches of the Tarim River, Xinjiang. The results showed that there are 23 species belonging to 21 genera in 11 families, most of which have low occurrence frequency in quadrats. The most common species is Tamarix ramosissima, which occurred in 17 sites accounting for 89.47% of the total 19 sites. Quantitative classification (TWINSPAN) and ordination (CCA) methods were used to study the distribution patterns of 23 plant species in 19 sites in this valley. TWINSPAN results showed that the plant communities in the middle reaches of the Tarim River could be divided into 3 groups and the sampling sites could be divided into 7 types in 3 groups. | 20 | Antibacterial activity of Cu_2O and Ag co-modified rice grains-like ZnO nanocomposites显示文摘In this work, a series of Cu_2O-Ag/ZnO, Cu_2O/ZnO and Ag/ZnO nanocomposites with various compositions were prepared via a hydrothermal method followed by chemical modification, and their antibacterial performance was investigated in detail. X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy results confirmed that 31 nm Cu20 and 30 nm Ag nanoparticles are well-dispersed on 202 nm ZnO grains to form a Cu_2O/ZnO and Ag/ZnO heterojunction, respectively. The bi-heterojuction structure in the Cu20-Ag/ZnO provided a synergistic effect on antibacterial activity, and the(Cu_2O)_(0.04)Ag_(0.06)ZnO_(0.9) nanocomposites showed the highest antimicrobial activity of all samples with minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus as low to 31.25 μg/mL, 250μg/mL, 125μg/mL and 500μg/mL, respectively.
