1Numerical study of the effects of local atmospheric circulations on a pollution event over Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei, China显示文摘Currently, the Chinese central government is considering plans to build a trilateral economic sphere in the Bohai Bay area, including Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei(BTH), where haze pollution frequently occurs. To achieve sustainable development, it is necessary to understand the physical mechanism of the haze pollution there. Therefore, the pollutant transport mechanisms of a haze event over the BTH region from 23 to 24 September 2011 were studied using the Weather Research and Forecasting model and the FLEXible-PARTicle dispersion model to understand the effects of the local atmospheric circulations and atmospheric boundary layer structure. Results suggested that the penetration by sea-breeze could strengthen the vertical dispersion by lifting up the planetary boundary layer height(PBLH) and carry the local pollutants to the downstream areas; in the early night, two elevated pollution layers(EPLs) may be generated over the mountain areas: the pollutants in the upper EPL at the altitude of 2–2.5 km were favored to disperse by long-range transport, while the lower EPL at the altitude of 1 km may serve as a reservoir, and the pollutants there could be transported downward and contribute to the surface air pollution.The intensity of the sea–land and mountain–valley breeze circulations played an important role in the vertical transport and distribution of pollutants. 2Hybrid constructed wetlands for highly polluted river water treatment and comparison of surface-and subsurface-flow cells显示文摘A series of large pilot constructed wetland(CW) systems were constructed near the confluence of an urban stream to a larger river in Xi'an, a northwestern megacity in China, for treating polluted stream water before it entered the receiving water body. Each CW system is a combination of surfaceand subsurface-flow cells with local gravel, sand or slag as substrates and Phragmites australis and Typha orientalis as plants. During a one-year operation with an average surface loading of 0.053 m3/(m2·day), the overall COD, BOD, NH3-N, total nitrogen(TN) and total phosphorus(TP) removals were 72.7% ± 4.5%, 93.4% ± 2.1%, 54.0% ± 6.3%, 53.9% ± 6.0% and 69.4% ± 4.6%, respectively, which brought about an effective improvement of the river water quality. Surface-flow cells showed better NH3-N removal than their TN removal while subsurface-flow cells showed better TN removal than their NH3-N removal. Using local slag as the substrate, the organic and phosphorus removal could be much improved. 3Multimetallic AuPd@Pd@Pt core-interlayer-shell icosahedral electrocatalysts for highly efficient oxygen reduction reaction显示文摘Incorporating Pt with core metals into Pt-based core-shell catalysts is regarded as a promising strategy to substantially enhance the catalytic properties towards oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) in fuel cells due to the synergetic effect between distinct metals. In this wok, ultrathin Pt skins with two atomic layers were epitaxially coated on as-prepared icosahedral Au_50Pd_50, Au_60Pd_40 and Au_66Pd_34 nanocrystal seeds,which are constructed with alloyed cores and Pd shells with different thickness. Through electron microscopic characterizations, Pd interlayers with tunable thickness of 3, 6, and 12 atomic layers can be found in the Au_66Pd_34@Pt, Au_60 Pd_40@Pt and Au_50Pd_50@Pt icosahedra, respectively. These icosahedral Au Pd@Pd@Pt nanocrystals show substantially enhanced activities and durabilities in electrocatalytic measurements towards ORR compared to Au_75Pd_25@Pt icosahedra without Pd interlayer and commercial Pt/C catalysts. 5Pharmacological Activation of RXR-a Promotes Hematoma Absorption via a PPAR-y-dependent Pathway After Intracerebral Hemorrhage显示文摘Endogenously eliminating the hematoma is a favorable strategy in addressing intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH).This study sought to determine the role of retinoid X receptor-ot(RXR-a)in the context of hematoma absorption after ICH.Our results showed that pharmacologically activating RXR-a with bexarotene significantly accelerated hematoma clearance and alleviated neurological dysfunction after ICH.RXR-ot was expressed in microglia/macro-phages,neurons,and astrocytes.Mechanistically,bexarotene promoted the nuclear translocation of RXR-a and PPAR-y,as well as reducing neuroinflammation by modulating microglia/macrophage reprograming from the Ml into the M2 phenotype.Furthermore,all the beneficial effects of RXR-a in ICH were reversed by the PPAR-y inhibitor GW9662.In conclusion,the pharmacological activation of RXR-a confers robust neuroprotection against ICH by accelerating hematoma clearance and repolarizing microglia/macrophages towards the M2 phenotype through PPAR-y-related mechanisms.Our data support the notion that RXR-ot might be a promising therapeutic target for ICH.Chaoran Xu Huaijun Chen Shengjun Zhou Chenjun Sun Xiaolong Xia Yucong Peng Jianfeng Zhuang Xiongjie Fu Hanhai Zeng Hang Zhou Yang Cao Qian Yu Yin Li Libin Hu Guoyang Zhou Feng Yan Gao Chen Jianru Li 2021Neuroscience Bulletin2021,37,10:4
6Confining shell-sandwiched Ag clusters in MnO_(2)-CeO_(2)hollow spheres to boost activity and stability of toluene combustion显示文摘Supported noble metal catalysts have the promising application in volatile organic compounds(VOCs)catalytic combustion but suffer from the deactivation due to noble metal sintering at high temperatures.Herein,we report the construction of shellsandwiched MnO_(2)-Ag-CeO_(2)hollow spheres with remarkable sintering resistance and high activity in toluene combustion.Ag clusters were sandwiched between outer MnO_(2)and inner CeO_(2)shell to enlarge and stabilize metal–support active interface.The unique hollow structure could alter the electronic states of catalysts sites and increase the adsorbed site of reactant molecules.Meanwhile,Mn–Ag–Ce multi-interfaces in MnO_(2)-Ag-CeO_(2)could facilitate the sustainable activation and the stable release of oxygen species via a tandem transfer.The oxygen species at Ag–Mn interface perimeter were instantly replenished by Ag–Ce interface to accelerate a deep oxidation of intermediates,guaranteeing the opening of benzene ring to generate maleic anhydride.This investigation provides a promising method for constructing efficient and sintering-resistant cluster catalysts for VOCs oxidation.Menglan Xiao Xueqin Yang Yue Peng Yucong Guo Yuechang Wei Maofa Ge Xiaolin Yu 2022Nano Research2022,15,8:4
7Kinetic study of the gas-phase reaction of O3 with three unsaturated alcohols显示文摘Rate constants for the reactions of ozone with 1-octen-3-ol, 1-nonen-3-ol and 1-nonen-4-ol have been determined at 298 ± 1 K and atmospheric pressure for the first time. The experiments were performed in a 100-L FEP Teflon film bag using absolute rate method; the rate constants were(1.91 ± 0.19) × 10^(-17),(1.89 ± 0.20) × 10^(-17), and(0.83 ± 0.08) × 10^(-17)cm^3/(molecule·sec) for 1-octen-3-ol, 1-nonen-3-ol, and 1-nonen-4-ol, respectively. The rate constants have been compared with those of unsaturated alcohols structural homologs, and used to estimate the reaction reactivity. The electronegativity of carbon–carbon double bond was calculated by atomic charges analysis. The calculated results show that the electronic effect of the lone pair electrons of hydroxyl oxygen is the main cause of the difference in rate coefficient. 8Comparison of the oncological,perioperative and functional outcomes of partial nephrectomy versus radical nephrectomy for clinical T1b renal cell carcinoma:A systematic review and metaanalysis of retrospective studies显示文摘Objective:To conduct a meta-analysis assessing the perioperative,functional and oncological outcomes of partial nephrectomy(PN)and radical nephrectomy(RN)for T1b tumours.The primary endpoints were the oncological outcomes.The secondary endpoints were the perioperative and functional outcomes.Methods:A systematic literature review was performed by searching multiple databases through February 2019 to identify eligible comparative studies according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis statement.Identified reports were assessed according to the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale for nonrandomized controlled trials.Results:Overall,13 retrospective cohort studies were included in the analysis.Patients undergoing PN were younger(weighted mean difference[WMD]3.49 years,95%confidence interval[CI]5.16 to1.82;p<0.0001)and had smaller masses(WMD0.45 cm,95%CI0.59 to0.31;p<0.0001).There were no differences in the oncological outcome,which was demonstrated by progression-free survival(hazard ratio[HR]0.70;pZ0.22),cancerspecific mortality(HR 0.91;pZ0.57)and all-cause mortality(HR 1.01;pZ0.96).The two procedures were similar in estimated blood loss(WMD16.47 mL;pZ0.53)and postoperative complications(risk ratio[RR]1.32;pZ0.10),and PN provided better renal function preservation and was related to a lower likelihood of chronic kidney disease onset(RR 0.38;pZ0.006).Conclusion:PN is an effective treatment for T1b tumours because it offers similar surgical morbidity,equivalent cancer control,and better renal preservation compared to RN.Yucong Zhang Gongwei Long Haojie Shang Beichen Ding Guoliang Sun Wei Ouyang Man Liu Yuan Chen Heng Li Hua Xu Zhangqun Ye 2021Asian Journal of Urology2021,8,1:4
9In vitro Inhibitory Activity of Shisandra chinensis and Polygonatum sibiricum against Vibrio harveyi and Its Biofilms显示文摘[Objective] This study aimed to analyze the in vitro inhibitory activity of Shisandra chinensis and Polygonatum sibiricum against Vibrio harveyi and its biofilms. [Result] By agar diffusion test,in vitro inhibitory activity of S.chinensis and P. sibiricum against V. harveyi was investigated. The minimal inhibitory concentration(MIC) a nd minimal bactericidal concentration(MBC) of S.chinensis and P.sibiricum against V.harveyi were determined by doubling dilution method. The inhibitory activity of S. chinensis and P.sibiricum on the formation of V.harveyi biofilms was evaluated by modified MTT assay. [Result]Both S.chinensis and P.sibiricum had inhibitory activity against V.harveyi. The inhibition zone diameter of S.chinensis against V.harveyi was 17.95 mm; MIC and MBC of S.chinensis were both 3.125 mg / ml. The inhibition zone diameter of P. sibiricum against V.harveyi was 12.22 mm; MIC and MBC of P.sibiricum were 3.125 and 6. 250 mg / ml,respectively. When the concentration was higher than 6. 25 mg / ml,S.chinensis decoction had extremely significant inhibitory activity against V.harveyi( P < 0. 01); when the concentration was higher than 3. 125 mg / ml,P. sibiricum had extremely significant inhibitory activity against V. harveyi(P <0. 01). 10A Multi-Scale Urban Atmospheric Dispersion Model for Emergency Management显示文摘To assist emergency management planning and prevention in case of hazardous chemical release into the atmosphere, especially in densely built-up regions with large populations, a multi-scale urban atmospheric dispersion model was established.Three numerical dispersion experiments, at horizontal resolutions of 10 m, 50 m and 3000 m, were performed to estimate the adverse effects of toxic chemical release in densely built-up areas. The multi-scale atmospheric dispersion model is composed of the Weather Forecasting and Research(WRF) model, the Open Source Field Operation and Manipulation software package, and a Lagrangian dispersion model. Quantification of the adverse health effects of these chemical release events are given by referring to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Acute Exposure Guideline Levels. The wind fields of the urban-scale case, with 3 km horizontal resolution, were simulated by the Beijing Rapid Update Cycle system, which were utilized by the WRF model. The sub-domain-scale cases took advantage of the computational fluid dynamics method to explicitly consider the effects of buildings. 11Mechanoadaptive morphing gel electrolyte enables flexible and fast-charging Zn-ion batteries with outstanding dendrite suppression performance显示文摘The safe,flexible,and environment-friendly Zn-ion batteries have aroused great interests nowadays.Nevertheless,flagrant Zn dendrite uncontrollably grows in liquid electrolytes due to insufficient surface protection,which severely impedes the future applications of Zn-ion batteries especially at high current densities.Gel electrolytes are emerging to tackle this issue,yet the required high modulus for inhibiting dendrite growth as well as concurrent poor interfacial contact with roughened Zn electrodes are not easily reconcilable to regulate the fragile Zn/Zn^(2+) interface.Here we demonstrate,such a conflict may be defeated by using a mechanoadaptive cellulose nanofibril-based morphing gel electrolyte(MorphGE),which synergizes bulk compliance for optimizing interfacial contact as well as high modulus for suppressing dendrite formation.Moreover,by anchoring desolvated Zn^(2+) on cellulose nanofibrils,the side reactions which induce dendrite formation are also significantly reduced.As a result,the MorphGE-based symmetrical Zn-ion battery demonstrated outstanding stability for more than 100 h at the high current density of 10 mA·cm^(−2) and areal capacity of 10 mA·h·cm^(−2),and the corresponding Zn-ion battery delivered a prominent specific capacity of 100 mA·h·g^(−1) for more than 500 cycles at 20 C.The present example of engineering the mechanoadaptivity of gel electrolytes will shed light on a new pathway for designing highly safe and flexible energy storage devices.Faqing Cao Baohu Wu Tianyu Li Shengtong Sun Yucong Jiao Peiyi Wu 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:2
12Potential therapeutic effects and applications of Eucommiae Folium in secondary hypertension显示文摘Eucommiae Folium(EF),a traditional Chinese medicine,has been used to treat secondary hypertension,including renal hypertension and salt-sensitive hypertension,as well as hypertension caused by thoracic aortic endothelial dysfunction,a high-fat diet,and oxidized low-density lipoprotein.The antihypertensive components of EF are divided into four categories:flavonoids,iridoids,lignans,and phenylpropanoids,such as chlorogenic acid,geniposide acid and pinoresinol diglucoside.EF regulates the occurrence and development of hypertension by regulating biological processes,such as inhibiting inflammation,regulating the nitric oxide synthase pathway,reducing oxidative stress levels,regulating endothelial vasoactive factors,and lowering blood pressure.However,its molecular antihypertensive mechanisms are still unclear and require further investigation.In this review,by consulting the relevant literature on the antihypertensive effects of EF and using network pharmacology,we summarized the active ingredients and pharmacological mechanisms of EF in the treatment of hypertension to clarify how EF is associated with secondary hypertension,the related components,and underlying mechanisms.The results of the network pharmacology analysis indicated that EF treats hypertension through a multicomponent,multi-target and multi-pathway mechanism.In particular,we discussed the role of EF targets in the treatment of hypertension,including epithelial sodium channel,heat shock protein70,rhoassociated protein kinase 1,catalase,and superoxide dismutase.The relevant signal transduction pathways,the ras homolog family member A(RhoA)/Rho-associated protein kinase(ROCK)and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate(NADPH)oxidase/eNOS/NO/Ca^(2+)pathways,are also discussed.Mengyuan Li Yanchao Zheng Sha Deng Tian Yu Yucong Ma Jiaming Ge Jiarong Li Xiankuan Li Lin Ma 2022Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2022,12,5:2
13Effect of artesunate on human endometrial carcinoma HEC-1B cells显示文摘Objective:To observe the effect of the artesunate(ART) on cellular proliferation in vitro,to search for the possible anti-tumor mechanism of ART on endometrial carcinoma at the molecular level and to provide the experimental and theoretical foundations for the clinical applications of ART.Methods:The cell proliferation was observed by microscope;MTT was used to examine the effects of ART on proliferation of HEC-1B cells,and flow cytometric analysis was used to detect cell cycle and apoptosis.The human endometrial carcinoma HEC-1B cells were conventionally cultured;ART was administered with a concentration of 40 μg/ml before the total RNA were extracted.mRNA expression of Survivin,Caspase-3,N-Cadherin,E-Cadherin,Fibronectin1 and Cox-2 were detected using RT-PCR.Results:ART reduced proliferation in human endometrial carcinoma cell line HEC-1B in a dose-and time-dependent effect.The cells of G0/G1 stage were significantly increased(P<0.05),but the cells of G2/M stages were significantly decreased(P<0.05),so it has shown that the cell cycle was probably blocked in G0/G1 stage.After intervention with ART at 20 and 80 μg/ml for 48 h,cellular apoptosis rate respectively was(36.42±0.77)% and(11.77±0.58)%,and the difference was statistically significant compared with the control([6.64±0.19]%,P<0.01).The expression of Cox-2 mRNA in the ART group was lower than those of control group,yet the expression of Caspase-3 and E-Cadherin mRNA in the ART group was higher than those of control group.Conclusion:ART can inhibit HEC-1B cell growth and proliferation in a dose-and time-dependent manner.Furthermore,ART can induce apoptosis in a dose-dependent manner.ART is able to downregulate Cox-2 mRNA expression and to upregulate E-Cadherin and Caspase-3 mRNA expression.So we can conclude that ART could induce the endometrial carcinoma HEC-1B cell apoptosis and inhibit tumor cell proliferation.Wang Lijuan Yang Yucong Gou Wenli 2010Journal of Medical Colleges of PLA(China)2010,25,3:2

15Water uptake of multicomponent organic mixtures and their influence on hygroscopicity of inorganic salts显示文摘The hygroscopic behaviors of atmospherically relevant multicomponent water soluble organic compounds(WSOCs) and their effects on ammonium sulfate(AS) and sodium chloride were investigated using a hygroscopicity tandem differential mobility analyzer(HTDMA) in the relative humidity(RH) range of 5%–90%. The measured hygroscopic growth was compared with predictions from the Extended-Aerosol Inorganics Model(E-AIM) and Zdanovskii–Stokes–Robinson(ZSR) method. The equal mass multicomponent WSOCs mixture containing levoglucosan, succinic acid, phthalic acid and humic acid showed gradual water uptake without obvious phase change over the whole RH range. It was found that the organic content played an important role in the water uptake of mixed particles.When organic content was dominant in the mixture(75%), the measured hygroscopic growth was higher than predictions from the E-AIM or ZSR relation, especially under high RH conditions. For mass fractions of organics not larger than 50%, the hygroscopic growth of mixtures was in good agreement with model predictions. The influence of interactions between inorganic and organic components on the hygroscopicity of mixed particles was related to the salt type and organic content. 16Engineering microparticles based on solidified stem cell secretome with an augmented pro-angiogenic factor portfolio for therapeutic angiogenesis显示文摘Tissue (re)vascularization strategies face various challenges, as therapeutic cells do not survive long enough in situ, while the administration of pro-angiogenic factors is hampered by fast clearance and insufficient ability to emulate complex spatiotemporal signaling. Here, we propose to address these limitations by engineering a functional biomaterial capable of capturing and concentrating the pro-angiogenic activities of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). In particular, dextran sulfate, a high molecular weight sulfated glucose polymer, supplemented to MSC cul-tures, interacts with MSC-derived extracellular matrix (ECM) components and facilitates their co-assembly and accumulation in the pericellular space. Upon decellularization, the resulting dextran sulfate-ECM hybrid material can be processed into MIcroparticles of SOlidified Secretome (MIPSOS). The insoluble format of MIPSOS protects protein components from degradation, while facilitating their sustained release. Proteomic analysis demonstrates that MIPSOS are highly enriched in pro-angiogenic factors, resulting in an enhanced pro-angiogenic bioactivity when compared to naïve MSC-derived ECM (cECM). Consequently, intravital microscopy of full-thickness skin wounds treated with MIPSOS demonstrates accelerated revascularization and healing, far superior to the ther-apeutic potential of cECM.
