2Scalable volumetric imaging for ultrahigh-speed brain mapping at synaptic resolution显示文摘The speed of high-resolution optical imaging has been a rate-limiting factor for meso-scale mapping of brain structures and functional circuits,which is of fundamental importance for neuroscience research.Here,we describe a new microscopy method of Volumetric Imaging with Synchronized on-the-fly-scan and Readout(VISo R)for high-throughput,high-quality brain mapping.Combining synchronized scanning beam illumination and oblique imaging over cleared tissue sections in smooth motion,the VISo R system effectively eliminates motion blur to obtain undistorted images.By continuously imaging moving samples without stopping,the system achieves high-speed 3D image acquisition of an entire mouse brain within1.5 hours,at a resolution capable of visualizing synaptic spines.A pipeline is developed for sample preparation,imaging,3D image reconstruction and quantification.Our approach is compatible with immunofluorescence methods,enabling flexible cell-type specific brain mapping and is readily scalable for large biological samples such as primate brains.Using this system,we examined behaviorally relevant whole-brain neuronal activation in 16 c-Fos-sh EGFP mice under resting or forced swimming conditions.Our results indicate the involvement of multiple subcortical areas in stress response.Intriguingly,neuronal activation in these areas exhibits striking individual variability among different animals,suggesting the necessity of sufficient cohort size for such studies.Hao Wang Qingyuan Zhu Lufeng Ding Yan Shen Chao-Yu Yang Fang Xu Chang Shu Yujie Guo Zhiwei Xiong Qinghong Shan Fan Jia Peng Su Qian-Ru Yang Bing Li Yuxiao Cheng Xiaobin He Xi Chen Feng Wu Jiang-Ning Zhou Fuqiang Xu Hua Han Pak-Ming Lau Guo-Qiang Bi 2019National Science Review2019,6,5:7
3Preparation of High-Strength Al–Mg–Si/Al_2O_3 Composites with Lamellar Structures Using Freeze Casting and Pressureless Infiltration Techniques显示文摘Lamellar porous alumina scaffolds with the initial solid loadings of 20, 25, and 30 vol% were prepared by freeze casting using 5 lm alumina powders. With the addition of 3 wt% Mg O–Al2O3–Si O2 nanopowders in a eutectic composition as sintering aid, the maximum compressive strength of the sintered scaffolds reached(64 ± 2) MPa after sintering at 1,773 K for 2 h. The lamellar porous scaffolds were then filled with a molten Al–12Si–10 Mg alloy(in wt%)by pressureless infiltration at 1,223 K in a N2 atmosphere, yielding the shell-like structure of the composites. 4Characteristics of carbon storage in Shanghai's urban forest显示文摘Urban forest has undergone rapid development in China over the last three decades because of the acceleration of urbanization.Urban forest thus plays an increasingly important role in carbon sequestration at a regional and national scale.As one of the most urbanized cities in China,Shanghai showed an increase of forest coverage from 3% in the 1990s to 13% in 2009.Based on CITY-green model and the second soil survey of Shanghai,the forest biomass carbon(FBC) was estimated to be 0.48 Tg in the urban area and,forest soil organic carbon(SOC)(0-100 cm soil depth) is 2.48 Tg in the urban and suburban areas,respectively.These values are relatively within the median and lower level compared with other Chinese megacities,with the FBC of 0.02 Tg in Harbin to 47.29 Tg in Chongqing and the forest SOC of 1.74 Tg in Nanjing to 418.67 Tg in Chongqing.For the different land-use types in Shanghai,the SOC density ranges from 13.8(tidal field) to 38.6 t ha-1(agricultural land).On average,the forest SOC density(31.5 t ha-1) in Shanghai is lower than that in agricultural lands(38.6 t ha-1) and higher than that in lawns(26.5 t ha-1) and gardens(21.3 t ha-1).In Shanghai,the SOC density in newly established urban parks is generally lower than that in older parks.In the northern and southeastern suburban areas(e.g.,Baoshan,Yangpu,and Nanhui districts),greenspace SOC density is higher than that in the central commercial areas(Hongkou,Putuo,Changning,and Zhabei districts) and in newly developed district(Pudong District).Uncertainties still exist in the estimation of urban forest carbon in Shanghai,as well as in other Chinese cities.Thus,future research directions are also discussed in this paper.WANG Zhe CUI Xuan YIN Shan SHEN GuangRong HAN YuJie LIU ChunJiang 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,10:6

6High-temperature ultra-strength of dual-phase Re_(0.5)MoNbW(TaC)_(0.5) high-entropy alloy matrix composite显示文摘The dual-phase Re_(0.5)MoNbW(TaC)_(0.5) composite,consisting of refractory body-centered cubic(BCC)highentropy alloy and carbide with many fine eutectic structures,was successfully synthesized by arc melting.The phase stability,high-temperature mechanical properties and strengthening mechanism of the ascast composite were studied.The microstructure of the composite remained stable after annealing at 1300℃for 168 h.It exhibited remarkably high-temperature strength,yield strength~901 MPa,and true ultimate compressive strength~1186 MPa at 1200℃.The BCC phase and carbide exhibited a semi-coherent interface with good bonding after severe deformation at 1200℃.The dipolar dislocation walls in BCC phase,restricted dynamic interaction between defects in carbide,and the pinning effect of semi-coherent interface offered effective strengthening effects.Qinqin Wei Guoqiang Luo RongTu Jian Zhang Qiang Shen Yujie Cui Yunwei Gui Akihiko Chiba 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,25:4
7The characteristics of the structure, strain and kinematic vorticity of the Wulian detachment fault zone, Shandong Peninsula, China显示文摘As one of the vital tectonic units of the Wulian Metamorphic Core Complex(MCC), the Wulian detachment fault zone(WDFZ), which developed in the Jiaodong peninsula, separates the lower plate of the ultrahigh pressure(UHP) metamorphic rocks in the Sulu orogenic belt from the upper plate of the early Cretaceous Zhucheng basin and the basin basement. The fault zone generally strikes NNE with a dip in the west along the southern portion of the MCC and strikes NE with a dip in the WNWalong the northern portion. The fault zone displays a wavy-tile-shaped extension on the plane, principally composed of the fault breccias and mylonite and transits downward to the mylonitic gneiss. As a whole, the detachment fault zone shows a top-towest or a WNW extension. By calculating the harmonic mean, we obtain a Flynn index K of 0.98–2.0, and the mean value is approximately 1.35 in the fault zone. According to the polar Mohr construction, the extensional crenulation cleavage, the RS/θ,and the quartz C-axial fabric methods, we acquire mean kinematic vorticity values of 0.64–0.97, 0.76–0.93, 0.6–0.92, and 0.63–0.98 with mean values of 0.83, 0.80, 0.78 and 0.86, respectively, for mylonite and promylonite. The strain measurement results and the kinematic vorticity values indicate that the WDFZ is a normal ductile shear zone developed in the extensional setting.The kinematic track shows that the kinematic vorticity value decreases gradually from the NW to the SE as a whole. A simple shear dominates in the middle and upper parts of the shear zone, which is reflected by a higher vorticity value(>0.75, up to 0.98),a low thinning rate and a lower K value. In contrast, toward the footwall, the pure shear is increased significantly, showing a lower vorticity value(<0.70, low to 0.64), a relatively high thinning rate and a higher K value. Combined with the geotectonic background, the development and evolution of the WDFZ should respond to lithospheric thinning and the destruction of the North China Craton(NCC). 9Improvement of the lateral stability of vehicle suspension incorporating inerter显示文摘As a newly proposed two terminals mechanical element, inerter has been successfully applied in vehicle suspension system to improve its vertical vibration isolation performance. The novelty of this paper is to explore the advantages of lateral stability of vehicle suspension by the use of inerter element. A full car model considering the steering condition is built, and the standard fishhook steering input is chosen to test the lateral stability of the suspension system. By considering the ride comfort performance and the rollover resistance performance, three basic suspension layouts incorporating inerter element are optimized by means of genetic algorithm. Constraints of the suspension working space and road holding ability are also taken into account during the optimization. Two steering input condition, namely the sine-steer input and the fishhook steer input are performed to evaluate the vehicle suspension performance. 10A Single-cell Transcriptome Atlas of Cashmere Goat Hair Follicle Morphogenesis显示文摘Cashmere,also known as soft gold,is produced from the secondary hair follicles(SHFs)of cashmere goats.The number of SHFs determines the yield and quality of cashmere;therefore,it is of interest to investigate the transcriptional profiles present during cashmere goat hair follicle development.However,mechanisms underlying this development process remain largely unexplored,and studies regarding hair follicle development mostly use a murine research model.In this study,to provide a comprehensive understanding of cellular heterogeneity and cell fate decisions,single-cell RNA sequencing was performed on 19,705 single cells of the dorsal skin from cashmere goat fetuses at induction(embryonic day 60;E60),organogenesis(E90),and cytodifferentiation(E120)stages.For the first time,unsupervised clustering analysis identified 16 cell clusters,and their corresponding cell types were also characterized.Based on lineage inference,a detailed molecular landscape was revealed along the dermal and epidermal cell lineage developmental pathways.Notably,our current data also confirmed the heterogeneity of dermal papillae from different hair follicle types,which was further validated by immunofluorescence analysis.The current study identifies different biomarkers during cashmere goat hair follicle development and has implications for cashmere goat breeding in the future.Wei Ge Weidong Zhang Yuelang Zhang Yujie Zheng Fang Li Shanhe Wang Jinwang Liu Shaojing Tan Zihui Yan Lu Wang Wei Shen Lei Qu Xin Wang 2021Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2021,19,3:3
11Modeling and test on height adjustment system of electrically-controlled air suspension for agricultural vehicles显示文摘To reduce the damages of pavement,vehicle components and agricultural product during transportation,an electric control air suspension height adjustment system of agricultural transport vehicle was studied by means of simulation and bench test.For the oscillation phenomenon of vehicle height in driving process,the mathematical model of the vehicle height adjustment system was developed,and the controller of vehicle height based on single neuron adaptive PID control algorithm was designed.The control model was simulated via Matlab/Simulink,and bench test was conducted.Results show that the method is feasible and effective to solve the agricultural vehicle body height unstable phenomenon in the process of switching.Compared with other PID algorithms,the single neuron adaptive PID control in agricultural transport vehicle has shorter response time,faster response speed and more stable switching state.The stability of the designed vehicle height adjustment system and the ride comfort of agricultural transport vehicle were improved.Chen Yuexia Chen Long Wang Ruochen Xu Xing Shen Yujie Liu Yanling 2016International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,2:3
121-Pbps orbital angular momentum fibre-optic transmission显示文摘Space-division multiplexing(SDM),as a main candidate for future ultra-high capacity fibre-optic communications,needs to address limitations to its scalability imposed by computation-intensive multi-input multi-output(MIMO)digital signal processing(DSP)required to eliminate the crosstalk caused by optical coupling between multiplexed spatial channels.By exploiting the unique propagation characteristics of orbital angular momentum(OAM)modes in ring core fibres(RCFs),a system that combines SDM and C+L band dense wavelength-division multiplexing(DWDM)in a 34 km 7-core RCF is demonstrated to transport a total of 24960 channels with a raw(net)capacity of 1.223(1.02)Peta-bit s−1(Pbps)and a spectral efficiency of 156.8(130.7)bit s−1 Hz−1.Remarkably for such a high channel count,the system only uses fixed-size 4×4 MIMO DSP modules with no more than 25 time-domain taps.Such ultra-low MIMO complexity is enabled by the simultaneous weak coupling among fibre cores and amongst non-degenerate OAM mode groups within each core that have a fixed number of 4 modes.These results take the capacity of OAM-based fibre-optic communications links over the 1 Pbps milestone for the first time.They also simultaneously represent the lowest MIMO complexity and the 2nd smallest fibre cladding diameter amongst reported few-mode multicore-fibre(FM-MCF)SDM systems of>1 Pbps capacity.We believe these results represent a major step forward in SDM transmission,as they manifest the significant potentials for further up-scaling the capacity per optical fibre whilst keeping MIMO processing to an ultra-low complexity level and in a modularly expandable fashion.Junyi Liu Jingxing Zhang Jie Liu Zhenrui Lin Zhenhua Li Zhongzheng Lin Junwei Zhang Cong Huang Shuqi Mo Lei Shen Shuqing Lin Yujie Chen Ran Gao Lei Zhang Xiaobo Lan Xinlun Cai Zhaohui Li Siyuan Yu 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,8:1
13Modeling and experimental tests of hydraulic electric inerter显示文摘As a newly proposed two-terminal mechanical element, there are many realizations of inerter such as ball-screw, rack and pinion,hydraulic, fluid and mechatronic inerter. This paper concerns about a novel mechatronic inerter, which is consisted of a hydraulic piston inerter and linear motor, called hydraulic electric inerter(HEI). Firstly, the structural components and the working principles of two types HEI device are introduced, and the dynamic model of the HEI is established. Then, three classifications of mechatronic inerter, namely, the single motor type, the linear inerter-motor type and the rotary inerter-motor type are presented,and in the meanwhile, some comparisons among the three types mechatronic inerter are analyzed. Subsequently, a methodology of designing and experimental tests of the HEI device is proposed by considering the rated working conditions of the linear motor and the electric elements. At last, the HEI device is conducted, and the force tests of the non-loaded HEI and loaded HEI are tested in order to validate their properties. 19Genetic relationships among sympatric varieties of Acer mono in the Chichibu Mountains and Central Hokkaido, Japan显示文摘Acer mono Maxim. is one of the major components of cool temperate forests in Japan. Some of its many varieties are distributed sympatrically. Because of its great variability, the intraspecific taxonomy and nomenclature of the species are controversial. To understand the genetic relationships among these varieties and whether hybridization or introgression occurred among the sympatric varieties, we studied the genetic relationships among sympatric varieties of A. mono in the Chichibu Mountains(A. mono var. ambiguum, A. mono var. connivens, A. mono var. marmoratum) and Central Hokkaido(A. mono var.mayrii and A. mono var. glabrum) in Japan. Our results showed that varieties in Chichibu are genetically close,suggesting that hybridization or introgression might occur between these varieties, which could explain the higher genetic diversity of varieties in Chichibu than in Hokkaido.In contrast to the close relationships between the varieties in Chichibu, varieties in Hokkaido seemed relatively separated from each other; indeed, there may be reproductive isolation between the two varieties. 20Monolithic bilayered In_(2)O_(3) as an efficient interfacial material for high-performance perovskite solar cells显示文摘Carrier recombination at the buried SnO_(2)/perovskite interface limits the efficiency and stability of n-i-p-structured perovskite solar cells(PSCs).Herein,we report an In_(2)O_(3)interfacial layer with the distinctive structure of the monolithic compact/nanostructured bilayer.The partial hydrolysis nature of the In^(3+)ion enables the formation of nanorods on top of the compact In_(2)O_(3)layer when spin-coating the In(NO_(3))_(3) aqueous solution.This novel interfacial layer reduces the pinholes of the SnO_(2)film and increases the contact area between the perovskite and electron transport material.Therefore,PSCs with the incorporation of the interfacial layer demonstrate enhanced electron extraction and suppressed carrier recombination.Consequently,the champion device achieves a power conversion efficiency of 23.87%with a high fill factor of 82.14%.The optimized device also shows robust operational stability,retaining over 80%of the initial power conversion efficiency after working at the maximum power point for over 500 h under continuous one-sun illumination.Wanjia Tian Peiquan Song Yaping Zhao Lina Shen Kaikai Liu Lingfang Zheng Yujie Luo Chengbo Tian Liqiang Xie Zhanhua Wei 2022Interdisciplinary Materials2022,1,4:1
